This was our second time visiting this location for dining. The first time we came for brunch and it was great this time not so great for a birthday dinner. We went with a party of 10. The party that we were with made a reservation but because her full party didn't arrive at the time of her reservation she was told that she had to wait which was understandably. When her full party did arrive probably 10 mins later she was told that she would have to wait 1 hour to be seated which was outrageous! We ended up waiting maybe 20-30 minutes and were finally seated. The food for the most part took about 45 mins to arrive. It was lukewarm and just okay. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish etouffee and my husband ordered stuffed catfish. We both agreed that the brunch is better. There was a woman in our party who had issues with her food she ordered a dish with crawfish which had little very little meat The service and overall experience was just three stars. So many options to try at the weekend brunch- we had everything from grits, sausage, bacon, potatoes, to seafood and dessert pastries. Something for every palate here. Came in a while back, as I saw that they had gator on their menu. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to what was expected. I ordered the Paneed Alligator appetizer. A majority of the gator pieces were chewy. A huge disappointment there. The breading was good, though. I also got the Corn & Crab Bisque. This hit the spot. A large portion for a cup. The Crawfish Etouffee was perfect! Red Beans and Rice was very tasty. The Copelands Burger that my husband ordered must've been good because he smashed it all! Drinks were just okay. And actually my husband sent back a glass of wine and ordered a cocktail instead. I ordered a Cucumber Martini. I've had better. Oh well. The food was great so I was happy! Ordered a Thanksgiving feast to go from here - first time eating from this establishment (a friend of a friend had recommended it HIGHLY). I did NOT know how right they were! The service picking up the order was phenomenal - I was far from the only one picking up orders the day before Thanksgiving, but they had it down to a SCIENCE and they were super efficient yet friendly, and made sure to triple check your order for accuracy, which was greatly appreciated. The macaroni and cheese, dressing, and mashed sweet potatoes were AMAZING! I am a Mac and cheese FEEN, and this was hands down some if the best Mac and cheese that I have EVER had! My big sister's dressing is my favorite Thanksgiving side, and Copeland's is a very close second - it was so flavorful and well seasoned and just altogether delicious. The mashed sweet potatoes were so sweet and yummy it truly felt like eating dessert with dinner, and it's flavor melded so well with the savoriness of the other sides and the rich and delicious gravy. The fried turkey was SO well seasoned and delicious - I ONLY wish it was more moist (I ordered the four pounds sliced fried turkey breast), but turkey is one of the hardest meats to get moist, and the flavor made up for it! We ordered in so my review is based on the food we received for carry out. The food was delicious, the menu has a huge variety and we're looking forward to actually eating in the restaurant. When I picked up our food there was a line to be seated so I would recommend booking a reservation if dining in. The atmosphere was very jazzy, calmly lit and definitely gives the New Orleans theme well. My food was ready when said, hot, flavorful and a large quantity. The food is Ok. I had been to Copelands twice before and remember thinking the same thing. Nothing to make me want to demand coming back but surely tasty food. I think the issue here is my palette. Uber had a $20 off coupon so I opted for a third try. I ordered Crawfish Bread, Buffalo Chicken Rolls, 1 Bowl of Gumbo and Red Beans and Rice. All the food was packaged very nicely and were still hot upon arrival. The gumbo was my favorite and the white thick crème sauce that came with the Buffalo Chicken Rolls. Everything else was quite marginal in taste. I recently discovered Copelands and Popeyes are the same company and it did taste like some of the ingredients are maybe used amongst the two restaurants?!?... The restaurant is worth a try but if you are from Nola or expecting dynamite flavors, imo it lags a bit here.... Food was good. We've been before but this time was better! Had the catfish acadiana and it was amazing. The shrimp butter sauce and creole rice was delicious with the juicy catfish fried to perfection. Also liked the Mac and cheese which is usually hit or miss from most places for me. My partner liked his food too. He had red beans and rice, which was surprisingly filling by the first look of the portion size and side of dressing which wasn't something he won't order again though it didn't taste bad. Also liked the Mardi Gras punch, but he tried crash and burn and did not like it, couldn't finish because it tasted almost like medicine or something. Overall will return for future meals. We came for Valentine's Day around 7:30 pm. For the appetizers we had the spinach dip, crab claws and Rockafella Oysters all were made to perfection. For our entrees he had the fried catfish, with etoufee & creamed spinach. I had the salmon with roasted potatoes & Parmesan broccoli. Here on a Tuesday night- not crowded. Friendly server who loves the cheesecake! We got the oysters - chargrilled and Rockefeller. The oysters were not hot at all. That was disappointing. Lukewarm oysters that are supposed to be grilled doesn't taste that great. Also the not so chargrilled oysters were drowned in cheese. The Rockefeller was better but still not hot. Flew into town and came here for brunch around 11am on a Sunday and the wait was right around 45 minutes. The waitress was very friendly and the drinks were good. They had multiple buffet stations with a great variety of options to choose from. The food was seasoned well. I know this is a chain, but the food was surprisingly good! My husband and I arrived on a Friday night without reservations. Both of us had never been and I really enjoyed the Christmas decor. I'm not sure if there was a company Christmas party going on, on the other side of the restaurant but there were hot plates out buffet style. If it was a Christmas party, it didn't bother us and I actually think it has a nice ambiance to hold that kind of event. The foyer had several parties that had just arrived and we were told it would be about a 30-minute wait for a table (which was fine.) We ended up getting seated at a high top within 15 minutes and our server came out right away. For an appetizer, we ordered the Sauteed Garlic Shrimp, which was really good and EXTRA buttery. I almost wished we had more croutons (bread) for all that butter. For entrees, we ordered the Jambalaya Pasta and Steak Labouchere. The pasta wasn't spicy honestly, but it was really good! We had a great experience at this restaurant. We came around 1:30pm on a Tuesday and we were sat with now wait. Inside was decorated for the Fat Tuesday celebration giving off great NOLA vibes. Even without the decor for Mardi Gras the wood interior was very nice. There is a bar inside as well. We had Donna as our server and she was very attentive. She was always filling up our waters without asking. Food was good. Husband got the catfish with red beans and rice and I got the crawfish etoufee. Biscuits were ehhh. My family visited Copeland's for the weekend brunch and boy did they deliver. Our server Kelly was attentive and had to withstand my dad (the non-cook but forever the food critic) making suggestions on additional items for the buffet. The buffet was supplied with a large variety of breakfast, lunch, and dessert items. The red beans and rice was a family favorite along with the peach biscuits (which turned out to be awesome with strawberries and whip cream). When my family food critic advised that the sliced ham was a little dry, the manager removed the entire ham and replaced it with a new one. Additionally, the manager had his staff cooked up a pork tenderloin, which the manager brought out slices to the table, and it was amazing - simply dissolved on your mouth. The manager went one step further and brought out sauce/gravy they typically use on steak for my dad to put on the cornbread dressing they were serving on the buffet. The sauce was so good, my dad insisted on take it home - which he used later that even over some rice.
