This is one of my favorite meals I had in Chicago! I didn't realize Copper Fox was in / adjacent to a hotel when I chose it, so I was slightly disappointed when I arrived - not all hotel food is created equal! However, that hesitancy was totally misplaced... Copper Fox absolutely blew me away! The staff was helpful and so nice. I was seated and served quickly. I started with a biscuit and red wine off the happy hour menu. Both were great! The biscuit was fresh, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside goodness that was accompanied by (necessary) butter. Then I had the fried avocado and mac and cheese as my meal...I couldn't help myself! Let's just say they're popular dishes for a reason. The fried avocado was hot and crispy and paired very well with its sauce. The mac was so incredibly cheesy I can hardly put it into words! Normally fancy mac and cheese underwhelms me - it tastes like noodles with crispies on top, but this dish delivered! Plus it tasted great leftover. I HIGHLY recommend Copper Fox for your next happy hour or romantic evening out. You won't be disappointed! read more

One of my go-to's for breakfast. The huevos rancheros are simply amazing and the service is incredibly friendly. Reasonably priced for a place in the city. My one gripe is that the avocado toast needs something--I don't know if it's salt or lime or something but there is just something missing. Definitely worth trying if you're nearby or want something tasty delivered. Also, and most importantly, do not miss out on the biscuits which are incredible. read more

First off, not sure why its listed as "Gastropubs".. there is nothing Gastropub about this place. It is a pretty basic American restaurant. - #16 Biscuits: Free if you check in on Yelp! They do bake them in Bacon fat. If you don't want that, it takes about 20-25 minutes to make. We decided to try it with the bacon fat and couldn't taste it at all! - Baked Gouda Mac & Cheese: a little liquidy for my taste. Made it great to reheat for leftovers though! It was super rich and we were done after a few bites. - Fried Avocado Salad: LOVED the salad. the fried avocados, not so much. don't think i care for fried avocado. I would've probably just liked it better with normal avocado slices. the fried was way too greasy. - Crispy Chicken Sandwich: delicious, but again wayyy too greasy. they should change their oil to new oil to prevent that. everything was dripping in grease. The fries were meh. I could live without them. they were large cut, soggy, and flavorless. - Nutella Brownie: unfortunately, the worst part of the meal. our brownie was dry and not chocolatey at all. not even nutella-y for that matter. it was very flavorful and not rich at all, which was a huge disappointment. it had a weird flavor to it. the halzenut ice cream was delicious. we ended up leaving half this dish uneaten. Overall, alright place. GREAT service, our waitress was super nice and friendly. The food was meh, nothing mind blowing. Wouldn't recommend trying with so many other places in the area. Side note, the seats by the windows are FREEZING. They need to turn the heat on or move the tables away. We were freezing the entire time. Not pleasant. read more

Even though it is located off to the side of the lobby of the hotel, the restaurant has set up a nice ambience with chain curtains and other uses of furniture that make it feel cozy. A menu that is not overwhelming with its number of choices, it's still provides a fun range of things to try. We sampled a couple of their house cocktails, which were all very well-made. There are TVs in the main bar area, if you are looking to watch the game. But there are also romantic little spots to sit in, and a group dining area for your event. All around good experience and dinner out at the Copper Fox. read more

Lovely little place next to and attached with the Courtyard Marriot. The lighting is soft and the drink selection is excellent. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Eli at the bar was very nice and opened some wine for us when we forgot a corkscrew. Super place for an evening out or just to stop in and get a drink or two. Highly recommended. read more

My GF and I were visiting from out of town, and saw this place near the top of the recommendations. Our server Christina O., was very attentive, and even recommended some options on what to eat. Thankfully, through yelp, we were able to get some free biscuits and I was not disappointed! She got the Shrimp and Crab Roll sandwich, and I got the crispy chicken sandwich. I can't say much for hers, but mine was perfectly balanced, flavor wise. The only gripes I have are that the biscuits were just a touch dry for my taste, and I didn't taste much of the Jalapeno Vinegarette on the sandwich I got. Otherwise, a great place to stop for a relatively affordable dinner at the quality we got. Will definitely check this place out next time we visit! read more

My son and I went for dinner last night. The service was prompt and friendly. The portions were generous. The food came out pipping hot and very fresh. My 18 year old son had the crispy fried chicken sandwich and fries and couldn't finish all of the fries. I ordered the vegetable risotto and it was outstanding. I love risotto and order it frequently when I dine out. This was the best I've had -including in some pretty high end city restaurants. It was perfectly done in every way. As much as I loved it, I was only able to finish just over half, because it was both filling and a big portion. We were visiting from out of town, so I was regrettably unable to take the leftovers. read more

I visited the Copper Fox today with a group of 7 people. We easily made reservations last week and were seated in a nice and semi private area of the place. We were there in an odd time between when their brunch ends and dinner begins but we were all able to find something of the short menu and a couple of people ordered from the regular menu with no problem. I ordered the Kale and Brussels sprouts salad with steak. It's delicious! I'll ask for easy dressing next time but that's just my personal preference. Others in our group ordered the burger, prime steak sandwich and crab hush puppies and all enjoyed their orders. They use Pepsi products and service was decent. Overall, I'll definitely visit again. read more

Went here to have a beer and wait for coworker to arrive at ORD. She was late getting in so after two beers, we finally had the Fox Burger and the Chicken Sandwich. Split both and both were delicious. Made from scratch according to the bartender, who also did a good job recommending two different local IPAs, both of which were were very tasty. Monday night, no wait, very little activity here but I don't know why. Everything was right and the staff is great, friendly. Oh, and while I waited I had the Calamari Fries. Loved 'em! read more

My mom and I had just arrived in Chicago and were looking for a place nearby to grab some dinner. The reviews misled us here. To be clear, this is a hotel restaurant. The food left much to be desired. We ordered the cornbread as an appetizer, not good. My mom ordered the quinoa burger, it literally just fell apart, she ended up eating it with a fork. I had a chicken sandwich that was PLAIN. I added salt to help a little, but it lacked flavor and the bread was burnt. The fries were good. The service was ok. Something caught fire in the kitchen causing the entire restaurant to smell terrible, a few people asked to be relocated outside. Won't visit this restaurant again. read more

The food was solid. We started off with the biscuits. Honey butter was great. We had the skirt steak and the gulf shrimp and crab roll. The fries with the steak were better than the ones with the sandwich for some reason. Kids loved the slider and spaghetti. Although the waitress's service was a bit slow, the manager and additional help made a difference. We also loved that they made it a point to bring out the kids food first. First Course : #16 Biscuit Second Course : Pickled Greens Third Course: Sirloin or Snapper Fourth Course: Banana based dessert. This place opened up just minutes from my apt., and after an endorsement from my visiting cousin, decided to stop in. Have since tried the famous #16 biscuits, a few different entrees, and avocado fries as a side. Biscuits: These are phenomenal. Perfectly crisp on the outside but with flaky layers for days. Served with a generous serving of honey butter that you'll probably want to spread on everything. If only I knew how to make these myself; but I'll settle for ordering these every time I come by. Avocado fries: These are actually pretty delicious, and if I knew how they got the breading attached to the slices of avocado maybe I'd be a little less impressed. In any case great texture, and a fried food that you don't feel bad about eating for once. This comes in a salad as well and I would have no qualms ordering it. At 6 pieces for $5, serving size for the avocado fries could be larger. Diver Scallops and Pork Chop have always been solid entrees. The only thing I disliked was the Roast chicken, which turned out to be much drier than it was promised to be and altogether not very enjoyable(aside from the grits which accompanied it). Entrée portions aren't necessarily massive, but with a side of biscuits(and avocado fries) you'll most likely be at a comfortable level of fullness with your meal. Entrees run you $20-28 or but if you still want great food for a bit cheaper they have a bunch of salads, burgers, and sandwiches that are will run around $10-15 range. My first visit to this restaurant proved that sometimes the staff at a restaurant can transform a so so dining experience into a better one. I was scrolling through Open Table looking for a last minute dinner reservation and then this place peeked my interest. My boyfriend and I came in for a 8:30pm reservation and were seated after about 5 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish and fresh. We started with drinks, and I ordered one of their whiskey cocktails. My cocktail was well balanced and perfect for a summer evening. To eat I ordered the fried avocado and mac n cheese. My boyfriend ordered their crab/shrimp roll. We were having a good time catching up, but eventually around almost 9:30 we kind of started getting concerned because our food hadn't come out yet. Our waitress was nice enough to check on our food and give us an update. After our food came out, both the manager, waitress, and head chef came out to ask us how our food was and apologize for the long wait. All of our food was delicious. The avocado fries were to die for and better than the ones from that Cheesecake chain down Michigan ave. At the end of the meal we received vouchers to come back and get free drinks, and our sweet waitress also took off the cocktails we did order from our bill. The food and excellent customer service is a big reason as to why I would come back if I were in the area. If you are staying in the connecting hotel, or just wanting some good quality American food, then Cooper Fox is a great option. read more

Copper Fox was a great mid-week date night restaurant. The menu has good variety and the cocktails were tasty. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a hotel lobby restaurant for the most part, but they have spiced it up just enough so it isn't stale. The vegetarian burger was surprisingly good (I'm a meat-a-tarian, but ordered the veggie to share with my wife). First...this is NOT a gastropub. This is a very typical hotel restaurant inside the Marriott Courtyard. Second, the dinner menu choices are so slim that I thought there were pages missing. There are only six items on the dinner menu. So if you're considering this place, you better check out the menu first, you may not find anything you like on it. Third, the place was empty Tuesday night, so I hardly needed the reservations that I made. Fourth, food was just OK, as was the service. We waited so long for our cocktails that I thought the waiter forgot us; and it certainly wasn't because he was busy serving others. Finally, the Hostess was superb. This is a beautiful restaurant with great food. The biscuits, which is apparently what they are known for, we're perfectly moist and flaky. Don't forget to check-in to unlock a free order. I am usually not one to order chicken, but ironically both my husband and I ordered chicken dishes. He had a crispy chicken sandwich with a jalapeño vinaigrette and avocado. Really nice flavor combo. Overall it was pretty good. Friendly service...no problems. The calamari fries were very good but I think they would have been better with marinara rather than the tartar sauce they came with. The diver scallops were cooked perfectly. I got the biscuits free for checking in on Yelp so that was nice. But if I paid for them I would not be as generous with the rating. I didn't think there was anything special about them. They appeared and tasted like good biscuits that were over cooked (almost burned) into being crispy. read more
