Finally got to try this place out after passing it for a few years and it always being closed when I was in town. The food was good but there was a very limited variety to choose from, not to mention the prices are pretty up there for what your limited to. The service was good but I noticed that on top of a very limited food selection and pricey options. They only had canned or bottled drinks besides the tap water, so if you want another after finishing your first drink(wether it be soda, seltzer, lemonade, etc.). Be prepared to pay the full price for all drinks that follow, the ambiance of the cafe is a cute, quiet, and relaxing place. Maybe to meet up with a friend who you haven't seen in a few years or having lunch with a family member that's visiting once a year. They have a little somewhat visible kitchen, so you get to kinda see the chefs cook which is cool. However if you are going with someone who is a limited or picky eater or know whoever your going with is on a special diet. I definitely recommend checking out the menu before making a decision to eat here or not. Also note some options on their website menu are different or they may not have a lot of the options ACTUALLY available that week. I LOVE this place. Found this gem earlier this year and I am totally obsessed. Perfect spot for a date night since it is small but honestly i love it that way. Honestly, I have to say I'm not impressed with this place. They really give me the vibe of wanting to fit into what people think westchester should be. I have to say the staff is nice and they do seem to love what they're doing. I was served bland food at a high price. We ordered the jive turkey press, the chicken pot pie, Mac and cheese, and both desserts (strawberry rhubarb crumble and CMPB.) The sandwich was pretty good I enjoyed the ingredients that they decided to put together and the turkey was very moist, which normally isn't the case. I was disappointed with the chicken pot pie, it was under seasoned, burnt, and $17. I've had banquet pot pies better than this sadly. Once again the Mac and cheese was under seasoned and lacking what I was looking for from a homemade Mac and cheese. The cobbler was tart so it wasn't my favorite but, that's just preference. As for the brownie it was small for $7 and not outstanding. To me there is potential, they have a nice decor, good concepts and beautiful plating. read more

We had dinner at the Copper Kettle Sunday night and I asked Joe , the owner/chef to prepare a flatbread for me to take home for lunch the next day. It was roasted fresh corn, ricotta, mozzarella, and scallions. He partially baked it off and sent me home with instructions on how to complete the cook- off. OMFG! What a joy! I was in foodie heaven. So very impressed with the way CKC is run. There are three workers who are interchangeable- the barren dart becomes a chef, a waiter becomes a bartender and host, and the chef owner runs the ship-galley-sizes kitchen flawlessly. The menu is also ingenious - today's soups was yesterday's main, and everything is made on premise, down to the tasty cracker served with the ricotta. A Westchester gem. They have ten tables, give or take, not including ample bar seating, with a cute modern farmhouse interior. The cocktail menu has something for everyone, and the wine selection is good too, though I did wish a few of the bottle only wines were available by the glass. The Sangiovese I ended up with was light and lovely. We started with the pierogi and an order of the mac and cheese for our three year old. Both were delicious. The pierogi rivaled ones we've had in the East Village. We ordered the short rib and the chicken pot pie for entrees and both were delicious. I made a 6:15 reservation. Yes, I arrived late at 6:25, but the restaurant had given away my table without even trying to reach out. They asked to seat us at a small table for 4 with a 5 chair, but it was undersized and the 5th person would clearly have been in the way of the kitchen. What's the point of taking my phone number if not to check in on a late reservation. It was apparent from the guests seated at the larger tables that they had been there for more than 5 minutes, indicating that there was no effort to honor my reservation. The food looks good on the menu, but I will never know... customer service comes first. We ended up at the Turkish restaurant, BosphoRus, a few doors down and had an excellent meal. read more

I saw the Copper Kettle Cafe at a show called "Restaurant Hunter" over a year ago. This is one of those places that I've passed by many times and kept telling myself that I'll try it one day. Last Friday was the day that I finally decided to try it, and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had since I went to Paris. First of all, it's a small place so I advise everyone to make reservations, because this place fills up quick to no surprise. I went with the chefs recommendation and had the four course meal. First I had the broiled octopus followed by the Lamb Orecchiette which was to die for. I then had the Kettle Short Rib followed by a delicious that was off the menu. As I enjoyed my wine, I was in gastronomical bliss. My wife, whose so fussy, enjoyed her Mac and Cheese, Gnocchi and Kettle Short Ribs. Out server was the best and coolest server I've had in years, and my wife and I left the restaurant hugging him. We can't wait to come back with friends. This is a hidden gold gem in Hartsdale that I urge everyone to treat themselves to. Five stars is not enough. read more

It was quite a pleasant surprise. The flatbread with eggs bacon and spring unions was super tasty. Less is more sometimes with that Nice touch of olive oil. My guests had the avocado on "toast". Including a poached egg. Avocado spread was great. The frittata was fluffy but a little dry. Coffee was good. Service kind we got a coffee refill which I appreciated very much. Tried to walk in to this place for lunch and was told (very rudely) before I could even open the door that there were no tables available. When I asked how long the wait was the waiter dismissed us and said not for two hours. When I checked resy there were open tables all day. Incredibly rude and unjustifiable and will not be returning. The restaurant is very small, and while we were sitting there and families and couples were flocking in thinking they would just get a seat. We had a delicious dinner of their special which was corn beef fix simply beautifully with some lovely roasted Brussel sprouts, roasted potatoes And lovely little fingerling carrots sautéed in butter. We had the flat bread with mushroom and goat cheese. We each had a glass of wine, and the bill was $30 each sharing the two dishes. This is a lovely tiny cafe serving great food! I went in for brunch with my family on a Sunday. It was early in the day so we were the only ones inside the cafe. The coffee was absolutely on point - sooo good! We ordered the seasonal chopped salad, eggs in purgatory, the copper Benny (short ribs), and challah French toast. Sorry no pics but the food was so delicious, had no time to snap any pics. Totally recommend. They provide great service too. Will def go back! read more

The Copper Kettle Cafe offers a much needed change of pace in Hartsdale. It's an unassuming storefront. The decor is simple and the seating is tight. It's BYOB as of now, which is really fun. Our young waiter was pleasant and earnest. We started off with an excellent mushroom flatbread and an OK Brussel sprout dip. Main courses were really good. I liked my short rib a lot and the polenta was creamy. The shrimp and grits were excellent. The entree portions were on the small side, but so were the prices. You really need your own appetizer to feel satisfied with a meal here. Overall a nice little restaurant that is reasonably priced and serves well executed food. read more

Open just 6 weeks and they are off to a very promising start. Entering at 6pm on a Friday night, we were were only one of two couples. But this small modern/casual eatery -- set up with tables for two and four -- filled up very quickly. Service was friendly. Its BYOB. FYI: Pickup your wine at the neighboring liquor store for a 15% diners discount. Mostly, I want to say this is my favorite type of restaurant. Its a thoughtful menu focusing on seasonal produce and ingredients. Good choices for vegers and meat-eaters alike. And not overly expensive. Our meal was nicely prepared. Tasty and satisfying; indulgent but still healthful. Portion sizes were reasonable to modest (referring to dessert) Two of us shared the delicious roasted pork flat, the eggplant meatball (3), farro and quinoa salad and strawberry rhubarb crisp with walnut crumble. I have only been twice but find this little gem to have a fantastic selection of food. They have created charming space outside during this difficult time. The Mediterranean style ranges from flat breads to risotto, well prepared , fish, ragu's, etc. You can't go wrong dining here. Try to reserve in advance as they have limited space. read more

I love this place! The food is always delicious and it's such a warm and inviting environment, even outside. They put so much effort in to creating a lovely spot to dine outside. Chef Joe is the nicest guy. The whipped ricotta dip is outstanding, as is the mushroom flat. The homemade rigatoni never disappoints. The worst dinning experience. My wife made a reservation and they demanded credit card. I walked in and realized that there was no table. (They clearly double booked but by holding credit card?)The waiter, after I inquired about when we could sit down as I had a flight to catch, told me in five minutes. We waited but 15 minutes passed and we saw nobody was finishing up. So I went to ask the same waiter. He told me five minutes. Now I got concerned and asked him if he is sure. He said YES and was clearly agitated by my question. I told him that he could tell me if he didn't have a table so I could go somewhere else. But unfortunately this turned into an argument as he just never realized by keeping me as a customer, he was not serving his customer. I could be late for my flight. Will never come back to this place. I have been a regular customer once a week for last several month as it is close to my house. I would rather drive for 10 minutes to be treated right way. I decided to take an adventurous night and rode the metro north all the way to Hartsdale, NY to eat at a place called Copper Kettle Cafe. A friend of mines told me that is a beautiful calm atmosphere restaurant and some delicious flavors of flatbread and entrees I would enjoy. Only a forty minute train ride and a two minute walk, I walked into to Kettle and to my surprise they were having a slow night but I was quite happy to have the restaurant to myself. I ordered a delicious glass of Le Marsure Pinot Grigio, I may have order 4 and I ordered Kettle Short Rib. I apologies for not taking pictures but I was too focused on having a nice single lady night out that i completely forgot to take pictures. The atmosphere was absolutely what I needed, it had a LES Speakeasy feel to it with a little Westchester love. Everyone from the waiter, bartender and chief was really nice. I usually don't talk to anyone but I had such a delicious meal I asked the waiter to give the chief a big thank you for me as it was so good. One of the chief came out to see me which I was very flattered cause I'm basically a no body. I believe the chief name was Matt, very nice guy. My night ended with a smile, very safe neighbor and I was out there at 9pm at night with a big smile on my face. It was an awesome experience to a very smile adventure to Hartsdale NY. So happy about this addition to the neighborhood! Came on a quiet Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of tables available. The decor definitely reflects the local, farm-to-table emphasis (mason jar water glasses, plant buckets on the walls, etc.) We started with the white bean dip, which was a nice twist on the usual hummus offering. The toast was crispy and complemented the dish well - our waitress provided extra toast, too, as we had about half of the dip left over. The turkey sandwich was delicious, if a bit overstuffed. The Mac and cheese came baked in a small dish and was packed with flavor! My mom had the eggplant meatballs, which were tasty but you only get three small pieces per order. I was so excited to try this place while in town for work, and am really bummed. I got takeout: a chopped salad and the truffle fries that people raved about in the reviews. I drove the 30 minutes back to my hotel, and prepared for a feast. The salad was good-- fresh, flavorful, etc. The truffle fries had absolutely no seasoning. I don't mean that I wish there had been more; the only flavor I tasted was a minuscule amount of salt. So disappointed to have paid $9 + tip for a pile of bland fried potatoes. read more
