Tried this Thai restaurant for dinner on a weeknight. Quiet with one server. Food and service were very good. Waitress was helpful and honest about the menu. We started with steamed pork & shrimp dumplings. They were warm and delicious. The chicken pad Thai and coconut curry entrees were very tasty. The menu is on the table under a glass. Good idea because you can refer back to it, especially for desert. I had the green tea, which comes in a small pot. They have all the popular Thai starters and dishes, including several deserts. Another amazing meal at Siam Thai. My bride and I walked over during a Westchase windstorm and enjoyed one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated in a corner booth. We started with the Blanket Shrimp. The shrimps were crispy and piping hot and served with a sweet/sour dipping sauce. For the entrees, we chose the Penang Curry and the Green Chicken Curry, which tasted so good on a blustery, chilly night in Tampa Bay. The vegetables were crispy and the broth seasoned to perfection. My sister and I visited Siam the other night while she was in town. I've been here a few times and have ordered a few different things before. We were seated immediately upon walking in. The place was busy, but not loud, which is always nice. We started with a Spicy Salmon sushi roll to share which was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Katsu, which came with vegetables and a big portion of white rice. The dish was so good, and really big so I had leftovers for another meal. I ordered red curry with chicken, HOT! Not THAI HOT... just HOT. When it arrived, it was more like a mild in my opinion. No heat at all. This happens to me in almost every Asian restaurant I go to... So I asked for HOT condiments and loaded it up with some toasted, ground Thai Chili and some Sriracha. That was better... I was even sweating a little as I finished it up. I should have asked for Nam Prik Pao... they probably had some in back. I know why restaurants do this... because they have people returning dishes because it is TOO hot. But dang it, I really like some spice, lol. I guess I need to learn about four or five languages to be able to convince them I want my food hot? I wish I had the time... We were in Tampa for a wedding and picked up some cigars from Ybor city and decided we wanted something different for dinner. We both said "Thai" at the same time! First place that came up on Yelp was this spot. When we arrived it was in a eclectic little restaurant row. There were not many people there which is a red flag for us. We call it the "121 Rule"....not sure we even call it that. But anyway, we came in and the place was really nice. The food was great! Served was quick and friendly. I had the drunken noodles with seafood (shrimp, squid and scallops) my wife stayed safe with broccoli stir fry. We did laugh at a little kid running around the restaurant...she eventually fell and cried bloody murder then she sat down the rest of the evening. Giggle. The only negative we could possibly say was it was 50 degrees on a Florida night and they had the AC blasting. It felt like a refrigerator, but all in all we recommend it! 4/5 stars read more

the service was very short and unclear. I was trying to order a broth that was sold at the place but there was no clear indication how much the prices were for different products. I call over a worker to the cashier and she starts off by being very short and rude , making it extremely difficult to understand what i was being charged for differently and was just putting a price into the machine instead of actually showing me where the price is stated in the menu, i asked for the workers name and she screamed some random stuff that of course i didn't understand. never met this worker before but definitely didn't like her there, she needs to learn how to speak to costumers ! read more

Three of us picked Thai food for lunch today. The restaurant is clean & in a fantastic location in Westchase. However a few oddities occurred while we were there, lol. We sat at a long table, and under the glass table top at each seat was a menu. When the waitress came by we ordered & two of us were told that what we were ordering was not available for lunch on the weekends. It turns out the menu has 2 pages. Page 1 was under the glass in front of half the table & page 2 was under glass for the other half of the table. Seriously? So I asked how we could each ever know what's on the page missing in front of us. The waitress said she could go round up some menus to hand us. I hope I'm explaining this well enough so that you see what a bizarre system they have. We each ordered our entrees & one was brought out & placed in front of my mother. My wife & I told her to begin eating, but she said she'd wait. 9 minutes later the other plates arrived. That just didn't seem right, lol. I ordered Panang Curry Chicken with vegetables. The taste was nothing incredible, but it was fine. Suddenly I bit into a piece of broccoli, & I realized I had wire in my mouth!! I spit the broccoli out & unwrapped a thin 6-inch long piece of wire. Anyway you get the idea of how our meal was going. If there hadn't been wire I probably would have given the meal 3 stars. Even without the wire, I think there's much, much better Thai food elsewhere. read more

Four stars based on the outrageously high portion size/ leftover potential. We ordered eight dishes to split amongst 10 of us. There was so much leftover that we made our whole next meal out of it. And there were still leftovers. I kid you not, we came away with at least 25 meals worth of food from those 8 dishes. We love their food with our only criticism being that the spicy heat level is sometimes inconsistent. We always ask for medium spicy, but we get a range from mild to hot spicy. So I've been waiting to write a review on this place. We have been here 4-5 times in last 18 months. Of course Covid hit so businesses are operating on a different level. The service here the past few times has been hit or miss. Not bad, but not good either. We came here on a Friday around 6:30pm. We were sat right away (we have never had to wait). I like that they have booths and tables. Quiet atmosphere, cute and simple. I usually order the green curry with 3-4 stars. This time I ordered it Thai hot and it was soooo good. Other than that, the interior decoration, furniture and service is measured up to 4 stars. We started with squid Tom yum soup. Their Tom yum is lean to sweet side instead of sour. The soup is good. We order the Siam Noodle. This is their house special sauce with shrimp and chicken stir fry rice noodle. I think they are just average if this is a house dish. Not attractive. We also order a drunken noodle. We order Thai hot but it is not measured up the heat. The noodle not even burn the edge show this stir fry is not quite high heat with oil. Basically they need improvement. If the cuisine can improve, they will be good Thai here in compare to Bay Area Thai food. read more
