This place rocks! Melbourne needed a cool laid back place like this, and they have awesome food. They have a cool eclectic decor featuring apt of old fixtures, exposed brick, mixed with a modern flare. The menu is full of delicious good options and offer a special ever night of the week. They have a ton of beers on tap, along with wine and liquor. I strongly recommend that the lamb burger if you like lamb. Can't wait to go back and try more items!!! read more

Probably my new favorite bar in Melbourne. The beer selection is large and the menu is what I would call high end bar food or bar food with flair. We had the gumbo (Saturday special), lamb burger, and pork belly poutine! All delicious. The inside is laid back in a cool sorta way. You feel like you are beachside minus the annoying tourists. I adore this bar. The only issue I have and what keeps it from getting 5 stars is that the bathrooms at 3:30 in the afternoon were dirty (both of them). We will definitely be back! read more

I eat here at least once a week, twice if I'm lucky. The food is amazing. I have been here over 40 times. Try the burgers, they have their own beef blend that is amazing. Lamb burger is great. Brussels sprouts, corned beef fritters, macaroni and cheese with pulled pork. Reuben sandwich! Beer beer and more beers! The service staff are really excellent and the kitchen staff cranks out delicious food every single time. I cannot emphasize how much I love this place. read more

When they first opened I had a burger and thought it was the best burger I have ever had. A few weeks later I went back for another burger only to find that it is now the worst burger I have ever had. They completely changed the recipe. When I asked if I could have the original burger they said the chef wouldn't do that. Then when my husband wanted his well done he was told they only serve them medium. WHAT! This was our first time in this restaurant. The outdoor seating area is very nice. The inside is nice. I had the meatball sliders with sweet potato fries. The sliders were amazingly good. I usually don't eat the buns that come with the sandwich but these are very good. The sweet potato fries were a little soft so ask to have them cooked extra crunchy.my husband had the fish sandwich which he said was pre-cooked frozen. So it wasn't that great. The restrooms are unisex said the toilet had a bit of a urine smell to it. And they don't have any hand towels. They did have the purse hooks underneath the bar area which is nice so you don't have to put your purse on the floor. Overall it was an average place as expected. My son put me on to this place. Tucked out of the way with parking lot and entrance behind the building. Fire pit patio, outside and inside bars, seating inside. Limited but GREAT menu albeit most items a tad spicy. Super service and bar tender had a "heavy hand". :) I had the Haddock and it was perfect. Son had steak and it was as good as it gets. The wife and I ate here tonight. We tried the Buffalo cauliflower and were shocked at how much it tasted like boneless Buffalo chicken. I would highly recommend this appetizer. We were in the area on vacation and were looking for a laid back bar with good food. That's exactly what we got. The Copperhead had a nice long beer list a great service. We had the deviled eggs with siracha appetizer, which was good. We each had the Tavern burger and they were just right. I ordered mine without the special sauce because it's a spicy ketchup and I don't like like spicy foods. The best part was the poutine. We asked the waitress which was the best one, because they have four kinds, and she suggested the regular oxtail kind. It was delicious. It was our first time eating poutine and we loved it. French Onion soup was a thumbs down, three spoonfuls ugh Salty, the top layer wasn't a bread it was frozen croutons that had freezer burn and in my opinion shouldn't have been hard in a French Inion soup, never have I had hard to bite anything in a French onion soup. The fish & chips at $15 was frozen and I'm guessing sisco, it too had freezer burn taste, the fries were freezer burn taste too. Just appalling. The bar staff served our meal with no silverware, maybe bc they were too busy taking shots from patrons. read more

Visited on a Saturday night with friends while in town over Christmas vacation. I ordered two drinks and tipped the bartender appropriately. Thankfully I kept my receipt because the bartender decided to double the tip amount and my card was charged accordingly. In addition, one of my friends had a fraudulent charge added after the fact. I contacted Tommy the manager regarding the situation, not only did he fail to apologize, but he has yet to fix the charges. It has now been over a month and has yet to be resolved. You would think management would hold themselves accountable for their employees fraudulent behavior, but sadly Tavern does not adhere to this level of professionalism. ADVICE- use cash. read more

New establishment since I was last in Melbourne in 2012. I wish it was better than it was. What I gathered from this place is that it has one target.....spicy pub food. I get that some things are good spicy, but not everything or most things on a menu. I certainly wasn't expecting home-made tater tots to be spicy (might have been good to let diners know before ordering). These were nothing like tater tots I'm used to. Gooey dough like fried balls (looked like fritters) about 6 of them and served w/ a spicy sauce. The tots tasted rather undercooked. I ate one and gave the rest to my partner. I also ordered the wedge salad that had two rather sad strips of bacon crossed on the top of the salad. I think crisping the bacon and crumbling the bits would have been far more appealing to me and maybe other salad eaters. Nothing spectacular. I think I make a better wedge salad and blue cheese dressing at home. My partner had a tavern burger w/ fries. He has allergies to modern wheat and this place doesn't offer any gluten free bread options which is a bummer. The fries were handcut and wish they had been fresh. They were tough on the outside...so I'm guessing leftover and rebaked or reheated. The ambiance is really nice w/ indoor high top tables/seats and outdoors comfortable couches/tables. Classy place, but the food and maybe the chef is just not very talented or creative. Our waitress....very cute and very young, but not very experienced at waiting on tables and doesn't quite know how to relate to customers. The beer list was good with micro-brew beers from small independent operators like Sweetwater in Atlanta and Bear Republic in northern CA. We love local owned micro-brew beers. read more

I went here on 11/5/2014 with 5 others.I like the layout of the place and the backyard. I like the outdoor seating. My wife and a friend ordered a choclate martini and it was great. Appetizers of corned beef fritters (a little spicy) were good as well the wings. The wings were spicy and I liked them but my guests did not like them. Dinner was Short ribs poutine and it came with boneless short ribs on top of fries in gravy. The meat was excellent however the fries were so salty that they were inedible. I already ate the meat on top and some fries and I was hungry so I did not send it back. I ate 80% of the dish so thats the way it goes and was not looking for a discount. I let the waitress know after I paid the tab that it was really salty and did not discover that until the end. My wife does not like spicy food and ordered the meatball and mac dinner. She hated it and had to order bread just to cease the spicyness. I liked the pickles which I ordered as well. The menu should really indicate how spicy all the food on the menu is. I like the spicy food but my wife and another hated it. When we mentioned that to the waitress she said, "Oh, yeah everything is spicy here. I don't like it either." So they should put it all on the menu. All 6 of us missed that all the food was spicy? The waitstaff was great. I would go here for drinks but that is it. Eat somewhere else. read more

I had their hamburger with cheese added and handcut fries. Delicious! I'm not exaggerating when I say its the best burger I've ever had. They have a 'proprietary' blend in their beef, and whatever it is is delectable. The cheese was actually a four-cheese grated blend. All for less than $5. I added the handcut fries, and they were good. I like my fries a little crispier, but they were nicely seasoned and fresh, and a perfect compliment to the burger. My only knock was all of the beers I requested were unavailable - something easily corrected down the road. I'll absolutely be back and soon! read more

Walked to Copperhead Tavern for lunch after a hot sunny mornings at the Indiatlantic Beach. A cute pub with indoor and great outdoor seating. A couple of cold draft beer followed by the Tavern salad for me and a Tavern burger for my husband. The burger was cooked just right and deemed delicious. The salad was fresh with a nice mix of greens, a deviled egg, onions, olives and tomatoes with ranch dressing. Our server was efficient and pleasant. All in all, a positive experience.
