They make great Old Fashioneds... had to get another.

They say the kitchen is open until closing but it really shuts down an hour or two before last call... so know that going in to it. Every tourist I saw was hoping for eats... ...BUT they make great cocktails and the bartender was super friendly. So even if you wanted Brussels Sprouts come here anyway and eat olives and cherries.

We visit my grandpa every year and when we go to Melbourne, we love going here. The staff is so laid back, but attentive. The food is delicious and they offer great drinks. It's right off of the beach and has a great environment. I'd say it's a hidden gem, check it out!

Biding my time here while keeping away from the supremely hot weather. Saturday afternoon and only a few people inside, as I was able to secure a seat at the bar. Craft beer list is actually diverse, as several local taps are prominent up front. Settled on an IPA ($6) as well as the Pork Belly Poutine ($9). Meal shows up after 15 minutes - a handful of crisped fries with mozzarella cheese, chives, and pork belly on top. No sign of gravy or cheese curds, so this is more like "cheese fries with pork belly on top". Despite the inappropriate name, the fries were good, but the pork belly was better. Sweet and spicy sauce on top really brought everything together. Bartender is super friendly and even gave recommendations for other bars in the area. Limited outside seating as well if you want to drink outdoors for a bit.

They look like the oil was old and over fried. I ate them cause I was starving but this is how much I left on the plate.

Every day of the week they have a different separate drink menu for the specialties of that day. I love the Wednesday bourbon. The vibe inside is so amazing and Homie and it is pretty intimate though. So keep in mind if you have large parties like I went once with around six people it is hard for everyone to sit together. So I would definitely recommend coming on more weekday evenings when it's not as busy otherwise you will be having to wait in a line outside unfortunately. The capacity seems to be roughly around 30 people after talking with the bartenders. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. The off menu drinks that they could come up with ended up being some of my absolute favorites. I had the bartender at one point make me three surprise me drinks for whatever they felt like they could make. And every single one was so amazing I ended up passing it around to the rest of the group for everyone to try. Keep in mind, the drinks are probably a little bit more on the expensive side, but you are paying for more of the experience. It is also important to note that there is a five dollar cover fee that will last for a full week to enter the place, or you can buy an annual membership for $40. If you buy the annual membership, they do type out a membership library card for you and laminate so it feels very official and it's very cool to be able to have in your wallet. In the true vibe of speakeasy, this is a hidden gem.

The cocktails were exceptional. I asked for classic cocktails that weren't in the menu. They delivered. Love the place. Why Four stars? Service was three bears. The waiter with the blonde mop of hair is very nice but inexperienced. Too on top of customers when they arrive. He needs to give a menu and give a few minutes for guests to peruse it. The head bartender is brilliant. Talent without hospitality, though, is a craft cocktail fail. Kindness counts. The vibe was colder than the cocktails. I hope it improves on future visits. The blonde bartender in the grey dress was just right. Professional, attentive, and kind. This is easily a six star speak. When you are serving? You are "on." Be as excellent and calm of a person as you are outstanding at your craft.

Friday night at Boardwalk Grill in Indialantic was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, the experience was top-notch. Our server, Bryant, was absolutely outstanding--kind, hilarious, attentive, and somehow managed to remember all eight ladies' names at our table after being challenged! Talk about impressive. We started with the burrata and fish dip, both fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the evening. For our entrées, the steak and salmon were cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was worth savoring. While Boardwalk may be a bit of a splurge, I can confidently say it's one of those places where the experience matches the price point. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, you won't leave disappointed. Overall, a good experience. I'll definitely come back, but there are some serious issues that…read moreshould be addressed by the restaurant. I'll give it the 4 based on menu and food quality for now (even though something was seriously wrong with one of the specials), but if I returned and had the same ambiance and food issues again I would not be so nice. Food - Excellent. 1 ordered pasta (all loved it), 1 ordered the Wagyu picanha special (loved it), 2 ordered the snapper special (1 loved theirs, but the other came out 100% overcooked. Had to use a knife to cut it, and it was ultimately inedible.) All agreed that they'd eat the food again (just possibly avoid fish special as the quality was inconsistent). Did not notify staff because it took A FULL HOUR for the entrees to make it to us from the time we arrived. Service - Excellent. Server was very good, you could tell had experience. But they were way too busy. Could not visit the table as often as they should have. Probably didn't get orders in and food moved in a timely manner. But this is the fault of management (for understaffing for the number of guests) and the owners/decision makers (that decided to cram in more seating/guests than the kitchen/staff can actually keep up with). Ambiance - Uncomfortably loud. A speaker directly above our table was either misbalanced or turned up too high or broken. It boomed bass at our table the whole time. In an already incredibly loud room because of all of the talking and the tables being way too close together, it was unbearably annoying. We had to "what" each other a lot. About those tables - please quit it. I get that YOU the restaurant want to pack in as many people as possible, but we were practically sitting in strangers laps. I could hear every detail of the conversation at the table directly behind me, more than I could hear the person I was dining with at the table across from me. All of the customers AND staff were bumping against our chairs CONSTANTLY trying to pass by or reach other tables. "Sorry." "Sorry." "Sorry." The staff said sorry to us so many times it was obvious they knew it was a problem. The only reason this happened is because they're cramming two 2-seaters behind and around two 4-seaters in an area where you really can only fit the two 4-seaters comfortably. It was also unbearably hot. The garage-style doors are open... on a day that is a "feels like" of 96 because of the humidity. There was literally ZERO air movement in the restaurant. We were SWEATING at the table. The men, dabbing their foreheads and fanning shirts. Did they have an AC? I think so. Bc I felt it twice for 2 minutes. But that's it. The thing is - the food is priced like upper end dining. And I would say the quality of the food supports those prices. But no one wants upper end dining in a crowded, hot, sweaty, loud environment. It's like having a steak in a mosh pit. Will come back and hopefully the restaurant will have worked out the kinks by then.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Melbourne Main Street a.k.a. Historic Downtown Melbourne is a definite "go-to" location when it comes to mom n' pop eateries ranging from casual to fine dining. Why many of my five-star reviewed restaurants are in this stretch of historic Melbourne, FL. If there is one restaurant I'd say has the "most" magnificent views of Indian River, Melbourne Main Street, and even Golden Hours of the horizons, then it is definitely The Landing Rooftop (which I will shorthand simply to Landing for the remainder of this review). Though an address is provided, The Landing - as per its full nomenclature - is located on a rooftop, specifically the rooftop of Hilton's Hotel Melby. The free parking for the garage floors for the HIlton are limited, so if you can't get a spot, there is a free parking garage just north of Hotel Melby next to the City Hall. To get to The Landing, you have to enter the lobby of Hotel Melby and take the elevator up to the 11th floor, which is the floor dedicated to the restaurant. Don't worry, the staff won't say anything and they'll usually let you go as they know about the patron traffic to the restaurant. The Landing is a beautifully-designed restaurant with Hilton's signature modern classic designs of bright tans and white lights. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but I suggest indoor seating during high sun hours and outdoor seating during golden hour times and nighttime dining. As mentioned earlier, the views are magnificent for Indian River and Melbourne. I've eaten multiple times here at The Landing, but my lastest visit was an impromptu "date" with my friend Damaris, simply because she has never been here before, and I was giving her the grand tour of Melbourne Main Street. We sat outside in the shaded overhang, but got to walk around taking pictures of the views from all four sides. We should have sat in the cocoon hanging chairs, but we didn't know when we'd get our food and drinks. Starting with the drinks, we got a couple of mocktails, the Lemon Bay Breeze and the Strawberry Sunset. Details of both drinks and prices are in the pictures. As for food, we both split their charcuterie board appetizer, which I say is quite amazing, but definitely needs more bread and crackers. It consisted of many kinds of meats, cheeses, jams, olives, nuts, and fruits. Everything was so delicious, but we had to start using the cheese and meat slices as the "bread." We also got two desserts to share, the classic key lime pie and I assume the pistachio olive oil cake. Both were delicious and details, including price, are captioned in their pics. And on a side note, the restrooms are clean and stocked as they are up to the standard of a Hilton. And apparently, The Landing is one of those restaurants that are behind the times on payment. They initially takes tap payments with cards, but not NCT on phones. Their system does not like protective virtual cards, which is a major negative in my honest opinion, given the fact their food is a bit pricey compared to the rest of the restaurants in Melbourne Main Street. Ultimately, I am going to give The Landing three-out-of-five stars for their review. And the reason why I am giving it this kind of rating is a comparison to other Hilton restaurants I have been to. Kinda like Hotel Melby itself, this restaurant is kinda under the average of the Hilton standard. Not bad, but I have had better at other Hilton hotels and resorts. Only standout are the views around and about the restaurant, and that is a farcry because we are talking about Melbourne and Indian River. But I will stress this is one of the best places to dine while watching a rocket launch out of Cape Canaveral.

The Medjool dates with millionaire bacon and goat cheese and I am not exaggerating when I say this dish could solve international conflicts. Sweet pineapple, salty bacon, creamy goat cheese, and a drizzle of what tasted like the chef whispering sweet nothings the way I'm romantic. I was going to order a second dose for "research purposes." Truffle Honey Chicken Tenders (Not Your Childhood Lunchbox) is the most misleading name ever because "tenders" sounds like something you eat in a drive thru parking lot (I'd pick Bojangles of course). These were crispy, sticky, sweet, slightly spicy, and basically the PhD version of chicken fingers a bit dry but the sauce make it good. Brussels sprouts usually remind people of childhood trauma. These charred brussels sprouts with honey, soy, ginger, and peanuts tasted like the chef personally apologized to every person who had ever been forced to eat boiled vegetables in 1987. Smoky, sticky, crunchy, slightly sweet. I would willingly eat vegetables here again, which is a sentence I never thought I would say out loud! We build a strategy to devide an conquer in a unique waiter (I hate the name server, it sounds like tennis) recommendation that was impressive! My brother ordered the heritage pork chop, which looked like it had been bench pressing in the kitchen before arriving at the table. Perfect crust, juicy inside, sitting on sweet potato hash with a slaw piled on top like a fashionable hat and I went with the snapper catch of th day for a surf and turf combo! I considered banging on the door at 3 am for another dose of pork chop like I was in college and wanted the party to go on My brother was impressed with the Blackbird Arise that showed up like it owned the table. He said it was smooth, bold, and dangerous because it makes you start considering dessert when you absolutely do not need dessert. I don't drink so I take his word for it. The women weren't behaving so thy split a smash burger and truffle fries, which means our ordering strategy was clearly "yes." The burger had that glossy brioche bun that looks like it was polished before serving, and the fries were exactly the kind that disappear before you realize you have eaten most of them. A smash burger is supposed to drip greese down your arm and this didn't. This strategy ensured my spot on the couch for bedtime. If you go, order two doses of the dates so you don't have to bring a date.
