Yesterday I ate at this diner and it was the only thing I ate all day and got violently ill and still am. I called and spoke with the owner just to let him know so no one else got sick and the owner proceeded to tell me I must've eaten something else yesterday that caused it. I told him it was the only thing I ate and I pretty much felt sick right away. He was indignant and said he ate the same thing and didn't get sick? Really what' coincidence? I think not. How many time do you see a diner owner who is Greek eating a beef gyro? Never! They don't even have the same kind of gyros in Greece. Had a terrible experience here. Ordered a Cheeseburger with eggs on the side today and got burger meat and eggs just thrown into a small container together with no bun for the burger. I'm not the type of person to complain about my food but for $20 with this presentation and not even a bun? I went in and politely ask for a bun and was literally told no. I then had another coworker chime in and tell me that the burger does not come with a bun in which I proceeded to laugh and ask them "since when does a burger not come with a bun"? I then had to argue with these two people as well as a THIRD person about me getting a bun for my burger! At this point I was getting very frustrated for what should have been a simple fix and raised my voice stating that I wanted my money back because I wasn't going to pay $20 for this garbage. It wasn't until after I visibly became agitated and people were paying attention to the argument that they finally gave in and grabbed my burger bun - and they were very rude about it as well saying "is this what you want buddy?" And then shoving the container into my chest. This is by FAR the worst experience I have EVER had eating at any place and I am infuriated right now. As such this is the first review that I have ever been compelled to write. Also, as a side not I was ordering carry out and I'm wondering if they were hoping to just slide this by so they could save a couple of dollars. Best diner on Long Island. Food is great and everyone Is super nice and will always make you feel welcome. We used to live nearby and came every weekend for breakfast. In my book a diner needs to know how to cook an egg and this place gets it right every time no matter how you ask for it. Can't get better than that. My girlfriend and I go there all the time. Friendly service, good food. The staff is excellent, helpful and attentive. The place is clean. I'm giving them 4 stars because they are well "Above Average" as Diner's go, however they are still a diner. Cons: It is in Coram. I don't mind Coram, but it is in a low income area. You might see poor people. That has never bothered me in the slightest, but apparently it is horrific to some people who write reviews on Yelp. Order "Typical Diner Food". It's a Diner, not Red Lobster. They have an enormous menu selection, but if you order lobster it's going to be from a freezer. I only do takeout from this place from now on. Gotten takeout a few times before, food was good. Went there the other day to sit and our waitress was super pushy. Our waters tooks a long time to get to us. Apparently the waitress didn't even notice because we asked again and she said "I have a water guy that does that". Anyway, super pushy when she asked what we wanted to eat. I wasn't done giving my order and she was practically taking the menu away from me. It wasn't a complicated order. Just barely as I'm done, she rushes to ask my boyfriend what he wants, and does the same to him. Once our food came out, it was fine. A few minutes goes by and she shouts from across the dining room if we're okay. She was rushing around like it was super busy. She had like three tables max. Even the host that sat us seemed moody and didn't care to be there. Probably won't come back in to eat. read more

This is a place where they knew the family and even though the food is nothing special, it is a typical diner. However I saw something there that horrified me. There was a family with 2 small children who were just having a family night out when another patron with absolutely NO patience or manners had a problem with the kids. They were about 4 and 2 and the mother was pregnant. They were adorable and excited and being cute. This horrible man made a scene embarrassed them and when the father stood up and told the man he was rude and to leave his family alone, a server chimed in and told this family that the children were disruptive brats. I was appalled. I hope anyone with kids stops going there. They are horrible people. There is only a star because I couldn't post without one. read more

I have NEVER seen a manager walk away from a customer during an unresolved situation at a restaurant or any family of business! Awful experience with management and advise no one that wants to be treated with respect to go here. My dad ordered the $27 prime rib special. He received the sides/salad that came with the special. Then the main dish came out and my dad was not able to cut it. He asked the waitress if she can take it back, she also agreed that it was inedible. He then ordered a $10 gyro. We received our check and only our 2 $2 iced teas were taken off. We went to the register and asked the hostess for a price adjustment. The manager came out and said the drinks were taken off and was defensive right away. I said that we still need $13 off ($27-$4= $23, and gyro was $10). The manager argued that my 60 year old father had eaten the salad so he wouldn't lower the price. I told him that yes, my dad ate the salad because how could he have predicted that his main course would be inedible. The manager had a bad tone and continued to argue. Then manager then walked away!! I told my dad to walk out without paying, but he ended up handing over his credit card because the waitress had been nice and honest. The whole way home I was upset about the situation knowing that the manager will not be affected and I felt so taken advantage of. Worst experience at any diner and restaurant. read more

A terrible experience! Made arrangements for a local club to lunch there. Got all particulars IN WRITING; The managers insisted on changing the agreed contract at the last minute. The managers are very belligerent & not at all good business people. Never again.....Other local clubs will be put on the alert. The most disgusting place to eat. There was hair on 3 different peoples plate and when we asked to speak to the manager he told the waiter that if we wanted to speak to him we had to go up to him. When we confronted him about the hair he said that we were just trying to get out of paying. Found a long fuzzy thing in hash browns. Waitress offered another one but we said no thanx. Paying the bill she asked if everything was ok. When I told her she didn't care. This is by far some of the worst food I EVER had. My boyfriend and I just left there- his bison burger tasted like it's been in the back of a freezer for months. I could taste how frozen and rubbery my chicken tenders were. The Tyson chicken you get from the grocery store is better than this garbage. The ketchup is so cheap and disgusting and the soda was flat. And not to mention the price of this place, OMG do they nickel and dime you. I have been going to this diner for several years,but lately the service and food have become terrible. My most recent visit was yesterday server was training someone which is not a big deal yet one of our appetizers was cold and had to be sent back, then the baked potato was cold. I had ordered an iced tea when we got there she never brought it yet it was on the bill. This is the second time that they have tried to change me for something that I never received. Love breakfasts there, often I eat at the counter, just for the show. Portions are enormous, Greek food is off the charts!

While the wait staff is great but food is meh...don't ever order the grilled cheese, you'll end up with two slices of processed cheese slapped on two pieces of toast thats been melted in a microwave.
