Our first visit here, and we LOVED it. My only issue (which was resolved) is the fact that I reserved a table online and specified this was a birthday celebration for my significant other, but when we arrived we were seated at the first available table the host came to. I suggested something more private and we were accommodated. From then on it was fantastic. Our waitress, Melissa, was outstanding. Our drinks never went dry and she was always checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the scallops and the trout. I'll have to say, the pecan crusted trout was much better than the bacon wrapped scallops. The trout had a honey glaze that pushed it over the edge. I had to let Melissa know we were there for a birthday and she promptly made sure we had a candle and a card added to our dessert. We went in for our anniversary on September 9th. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We sat in one of the booths and it was so nice to be able to close the curtains around us for some privacy. We started out with drinks, which I was impressed with. We're very picky about our alcohol. I had the Water Lily and a chocolate Martini, and he had an Irish coffee. Our drinks were perfect and tasted great. For dinner, I had a slice of prime rib, and he had the mahi mahi. My only complaint would be that the prime rib could use a little seasoning, but I put the au jus and some salt and pepper on it and it was perfect. His fish was a good portion and he said it was amazing. For dessert, we had their banana foster beignets. I know their dessert menu tends to change, but if you get the chance, you have to have these. Save room if you have to and take part of your dinner to go. These were hands down the best dessert I've ever had from a restaurant. The manager, Michael, made sure that we were well taken care of. I wish I could remember our server's name, because he did a fantastic job, too. I would absolutely recommend this place for any occasion. read more

We came here for Easter Brunch and I understand that it's going to be a little pricier but Yelp listed this restaurant at $$. They only offered the buffet only, no regular menu and each person was $38.00. They also should leave a bottle of water at the table for people to refill their glasses, as we kept running out and the waiter was not very attentive. Another down side was that we attempted to get a reservation for later in the day and were told they were booked solid. They said they were able to fit us in earlier in the morning, which was great I figured it would be crazy on Easter, however when we got there and for the duration that we were there, hardly ANYBODY was in there. Just not a great experience at all... won't be coming back. For 3 adults and a child it was over $200 for a not even decent breakfast/brunch buffet. read more

Im surprised that this place isn't all 5 star. I've eaten there mutiple times, and never been disappointed. Ive had breakfast lunch and dinner. Dinner, is a little more fine, price wise, but the the food is up to the pricing. Breakfast and lunch are very reasonably priced, but the same fine quality (great lunch spot). The atmosphere is great. The downstairs bar area is really nice. The upstairs bar is really cool, with the balcony. The staff is always friendly. Wife and I had dinner at Cora's for our anniversary. Used open table to make a reservation and identified occasion. We were promptly seated in a booth that was partitioned on 3 sides by curtains with the feature of closing the booth off from the main dining room. Service was excellent and prompt. Really liked having the beer, wine, and cocktail menu on a iPad mini. The servers also had tablets with the feature of setting reminders to check back and to delay drink or food orders at the desire of the guests. Started the night with Blackened Brie and Crab Crabcakes. They were fantastic! Large crab cakes and no shortage of crab and flavor was well balanced. The aioli was a good compliment as well as the bed of arugula. Perfecting sharing size for a couple. My wife at the Seelbach Cocktail and I had a Moscow Mule. Both cocktails were executed perfectly. Main entree we had the Blackened Redfish and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. Redfish was a nice portion and came with 5 fried oysters. The red cabbage wasn't my favorite with that dish. The scallops cooked perfect could have used less bacon or none at all. Overall they were tasty. The best part of the meal was he dessert. Banana Fosters Beignets! They were awesome! And they split a banana and caramelized the top like they do to creme brûlée. The six grapes port was a great pairing. read more

I really enjoy going to Cora's located in the bottom floor of The White House hotel, a nice upscale feel compared to many tourist traps nearby. We've gone for happy hour appetizers and drinks which is a great deal. Outside of happy hour things can be a bit pricey but I think still worth it. Bartenders are great, sassy but very personable and will tell you some history of the area. Good beer selection and many supplies on hand for craft cocktails. Check them out and tip them well. read more

We went there for our family Christmas dinner. We went for the buffet and it was not as expected. First we couldn't sit In the restaurant we were sat at a table that was placed in the hotel lobby with a black table cloth no center piece and extra chairs stacked around us. Also people constantly walking by us. Then the server we had who only had four tables and couldn't keep up with drinks. The table next to us was half way finished with there meal before there bottle of wine was delivered to there table. We finally went to the bar and reordered our drinks. Then to the buffet, got a couple of vegetables and then the person carving left to get more turkey and came back with one turkey breast (small one) so now my vegetables are cold then there were no mashed potatoes, no gravy. I finally put my plate down and walked out. No organization. Looked like a manager was running around cleaning tables in the dining room but no help with the lobby tables. It's not like they didn't know to expect the number of people that were coming. We had to have a dinner reservation. This did ruin our Christmas Day. I will never make this mistake again. read more

Restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was cooked perfectly. Had a reservation for myself and 5 friends. However, they were out of Filet so we changed our choices while ordering. Then after they deliver the appetizers we were informed they have filet but out of the pork chop. We then had to change our order again. They then placed our table at the bottom of the kitchens orders. We waited almost 30 minutes to get our entrees after completing our appetizers. Our food finally arrived after we had to ask were it was and why it had such a delay with no answer other than it was being plated at that moment. By then we had been seated and waiting an hour and 20 minutes which left our party 12 minutes to eat and pay our bills in order to not be late for our concert. Manager and kitchen is clearly not able to communicate to the wait staff so they can deliver the service that the food deserves. The manager did come to the table and let us know of the shortage instead of making the server deliver the news. Our waiter was great and did everything he could to make up for the manager and kitchens mistake of miscommunication. Overall the food is great but might want to reconsider returning due to the service provided. Would have have given 2 stars but the food and our waiter got it to 3 stars. read more

Our dining experience here was fabulous! The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent! I had the 6 oz filet which was cooked to perfection and so tender. I've been to this restaurant several times, with each time going down hill. This past visit, the service was horrible! There were only around 6 tables filled in the entire place with several waiters yet our waiter never came back to remove our appetizer plates or salads....in fact, they stayed on our table until we were done with our entire dinner! 2 people we were with ordered steaks Medium. They came out completely well done and when we complained, they took the steaks back and took another 20 minutes to get them back out. By that time, the rest of us were done with our meals. And one of the steaks was almost raw on the inside. The redeeming quality is that the manager took off both steaks but hardly apologized for the poor service. We tried this restaurant when we stayed at the White House hotel. It is a gorgeous space, very unique. Our server, while young, tried hard to please us and was attentive. The manager talked with us throughout and after our meal. Our wine, apps, and meals were hit and miss. Overall, the spices and sauces were pretty bad, bland, thick, etc...I had to send my meal back b/c the pasta was so overcooked, it was soggy. My husband's meal (fish) was pretty good. Some of my wine was bad, but that was probably more reflective of my choices than anything else, but I basically ordered all their sweet whites and only two of five were decent. My salad was good. My husband's scallops were good but expensive for four. I had to ask for a different salad dressing because whatever they gave to me was thick, pale green, and tasteless (I found out later it was an avocado blend). Their desserts, from local patisserie French Kiss, were both pretty good, but they ruined my red velvet cake by putting strawberry sauce and whipped cream on it (??) and they did something similar on my husband's dessert. They took my meal off the bill and gave us a significant military discount. Our bill went from about $150 to $100. My husband commented, "If I had to pay $150 for that meal, I would be really upset." I agree. We both thought the food itself was deserving of 2-3 stars, although again, the service tries hard and the atmosphere is very pretty. When I mentioned the problems to the server, she mentioned one of their dishes, the risotto, had been sent back to the kitchen all night due to 'no taste' and when I mentioned the problems with the sauces and spices to the front desk staff, he knowingly nodded and said 'I agree.' So I think the staff knows of the problems, I hope they can train up their chef better or get someone else in the kitchen because this could be a fantastic restaurant but at this point, it's barely average. read more

Came here for brunch with my family. Very nice dining room in a historic hotel. Very reasonable prices for being in such a nice hotel. Best shrimp and grits I've ever had! Kids had pancakes and waffles. Crispy bacon, fresh squeezed orange juice. We had a long drive ahead of us so we didn't try the many different mimosas on the menu. Tried the Bourbon Smoked Salmon & Roasted Jalapeno Dip, Crab Grill, and BLT Tuna Bites (they were out of oysters-so I couldn't try the Oyster & Artichoke Rockefeller Tostada). My wife, and I came, anticipating a great meal. Sadly, it was average, at best. We ordered the fried green tomato appetizer, grilled mahi, and the 16oz prime rib. The tomatoes were covered in a tasteless batter. The mahi was good, but the portion was not worth the price. I ended up with the mahi as well because the prime rib was horrible. The meat was so cold, the fat was solid. It had zero flavor. For dessert, we had the crème brule, and the banana bread pudding. The bule was good, as for the pudding...although it tasted pretty good, it was quite obvious that it was heated up in a microwave. One side was piping hot, the other was lukewarm. The two stars are for the food. Our waiter, Michael was very attentive, made great wine, and beer suggestions. Michael gets five stars. Unless Cora's gets a better chef, we'll not be back. read more

The food unfortunately was not up to par. For the price you expect adequate portions cooked correctly and flavorful. The bread was not warm enough to melt already soft butter. Portions were tiny and very bland. I'm not sure the cook knows what blackened means. The green bean casserole and the twice baked potato were bland and the Brussel Sprouts came out burnt. The restaurant, and the food, however... is inconsistent and could use much improvement in my opinion. Ok, they do have a large menu with enough options, including various small plates, steaks, pasta, soup, salad and seafood. We have had some delicious soup that was seasoned well and served very hot, just the way I like my soups. The portion was more than generous. Unfortunately we felt many other dishes on the menu was not prepared very well... We did not find them worth the $$, despite the large portions. I thought my meal was rather bland and overcooked. Ate here with a party of 8. We had to sit in the hotel lobby because the largest table would only seat 7. Pros - decent decor. Nicer than an Applebee's, but I wouldn't call it tasteful or elegant. Cons - where do I start??? Service was awful. We had 2 waitresses. They went around the table taking our order and forgot to take mine!! I had to go find one of them to put in my order. We got 6 appetizers (2 of each of the meat and cheese tray, scallops and crab cakes). The scallops were NOT fresh. The cheese was ok. When the salads came out they told the 4 of us that ordered a wedge that they were out of blue cheese so they gave us peppercorn instead. Except they also ran out of that so we only got a small little dab of dressing. So basically we all got a chunk of dry lettuce. My $50 steak was not only Overcooked, but it was also cold and tough. Same with the other 2 guys that ordered steaks. The plate was warm so my guess is that it sat under a heat lamp for a while. One guy ordered a pasta dish that was gummy like it had been sitting under a heat lamp while they finished burning our steaks. And the last insult was when we tried to order the desserts they only had 1 piece of most of the choices left. It was probably the worst experience I've had at a "gourmet" restaurant on the coast. Especially one that ended with a $900 bill. Thank goodness it was a business expense. I won't be back. read more

This place is horrible. I have been to most restaurants on the coast. This is abosolutely the worst. I had a blackened grouper po boy. It was beyond poor it was all bun and I believe it was catfish, nothing blackened. the ceasars salad was all romaine lettuce and croutons. My wife had a chicken ceasar wrap and could only eat two bites due to it tasting so bad. Our guest had a shrimp po boy and could not even finish half due to it being all bread and very dry. Service was good, food was horrible. I have a $25 voucher for food there and will not be using it. Thoroughly disappointed both for our guest who we were entertaining before she moved out of town, but also for the city of Biloxi. If the hotel is anything like Cora's , STAY AWAY! I won't be back that's for sure read more
