Ah man I didn't want to love this place cause I found it to be a pretty penny but it was sooo yummy! Almost $80 for 2 people. The breakfast wrap is a burrito and costs extra to add meat which I did and brought that price to $26. It was spectacular though I do have to say. I especially loved the crunchy vegetables which were cauliflower and zucchini I believe The latte Mi Corazon was really one of the yummiest lattes I've ever had. Yummy breakfast. We had huevos rancheros and pancakes. They have a wide and interesting selection of coffees, machas and horchatas. No frills. Just delicious food snd good service. We love a place where our dog is welcome.

This is our go-to coffee shop whenever we're in town! It's a cozy Mexican-style café and restaurant that always delivers amazing drinks, pastries, and food. This time I tried the mole burrito -- I thought I'd like it a bit more, but I'm still glad I gave it a try. That's one of the best things about this place: there are always so many delicious options to choose from. The only downside is how small the space is -- good luck finding a seat, especially on weekends. It's always pretty crowded when we go, but never enough to keep us from coming back. Definitely worth the stop every time!

Corazón Café is such a charming little spot! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the vibe is very much a simple, order-at-the-counter and sit-down café--perfect for a quick, delicious bite. Seating is somewhat limited, with mostly bar tops and two-tops, so it's better for smaller groups than larger parties. We tried the horchata latte, and it was absolutely delicious--sweet, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The red sauce chilaquiles were amazing, with just the right amount of flavor and heat. We added asada to ours; while the meat was a little chewy, it was still a nice protein option. The corn dobladitas with asada were also tasty and fresh, though I'd probably order them again without protein next time since the flavors stood out better on their own. Overall, everything was flavorful and satisfying. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu--it feels like one of those places where you discover a new favorite each time.

We've been wanting to try this and I'm so glad we did!! My husband got a hot Maya cocoa latte and I just got an orange juice but both were so good! He got a concha which was one of the better ones we've had in SLO county tbh and I got the special carnitas chilaquiles and it was so heartwarming and packed with flavor! A lot of onions I probably would've asked for less or on the side but they were still good! The ambiance is so cute, it's community-filled with kids drawings all over the place! Counter service was quick and nice, not much seating and was pretty packed so I'd def keep that in mind when going. Worth it tho!

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA We came here Sunday Morning for Breakfast and Coffee. They were busy. Corazon Cafe is located in downtown SLO. Decor is nice and colorful. Tables are small and comfy-ish. It doesn't look like its designed for a party over 4 people. Over all a cute and friendly shop. Like most restaurants and business Downtown It doesn't have its own parking. Parking on the St. Is metered and limited. Parking structures avail. Only a few blocks away. Restaurant can be stuffed with customers on a Sunday, so space and seating could be limited. Also common for restaurants in downtown Slo. People were accidentally rubbing and bumping into eachother, that is what we noticed but all in good spirits, everyone was friendly. No refrigeration. If its a hot day outside, more likely it will be hotter inside Corazon Cafe. Service is helpful and friendly. We didn't want to wait for our food long, but as soon as we thought of leaving at the very beginning, the gentlemen at the register said it would be from 20 to 30 min. We thought that was very considerate and smart of him to establish a time limit and so we stayed. Waited in Line about 15 minutes to order. Ordered 2 plates of chilaquiles and 2 coffees. Cashier was friendly and helpful. We found a table available as soon as we finished ordering. Food and coffee were both ready in under 15 min. Food / plate/ coffee presentation looked very nice. We notice the portions are small or smaller than average. Only Entrees served but No Sides. Price point was anywhere between $25 and $30 dlls per person. We got an entree and a coffee each. Paid 64 dlls total. Tax and tip included. Food lacks flavor. Chilaquiles were under seasoned and dry. There was not enough sauce in either of our plates. Green and red sauce were both bland and somewhat tasteless. Mole chicken didn't taste like an original mole and the dishes also lacked sides like rice and beans or maybe a queso fresco slice or a little salad. Just something could mean a great deal of difference. Coffees are good. My latte was very good. Decor and ambiance......4 stars Service.....5 stars Food presentation....5 stars Green chilaquiles....... 0 stars Red chilaquiles with mole chicken.... 0 stars Horchata Latte..... 5 stars Mayan Latte... 2 stars. Good but couldn't taste the espresso. We will come back for coffee but for a great breakfast we will have to skip chilaquiles and maybe try a different option. We are still on the lookout for the best breakfast in Slo just so we can recommend great places to the over 1000 customers we deal with on a monthly basis who are often visitors. I didn't say grace before I ate but my first spoonful of pazole had me feeling blessed. Couldn't recommend it any higher. I'm someone that typically doctors my soups with various things (oregano, onion, hot sauce, etc.) and there was nothing to add here. It was all there, along with a lime wedge to add a little citrus kick. My mocha was super on point and my gf loved her latte. The chilaquiles were a casualty of greatness in that they were good but paled in comparison to the soup and coffee. We'll definitely be back. Service was great. Inside space was a little tight but seating was readily available outside and we were checked on with perfect cadence. Try it or diet? Do yourself a favor and try it.

What a beautiful surprise on our way to the airport! Fantastic food, we had the breakfast burrito and the tamales with scrambled eggs.....Lordy, they are authentic and delicious. The Mamas matcha is fantastic and not too sweet. And the staff were so nice and informative with our special requests and newbie experience with the restroom situation. We got the chilaquiles with chili verde pork, and oh boy it was delicious! The flavors of everything was perfect and the pork was so so tender. We also got the cafe de olla and horchata latte. Breakfast burrito was so good and filling. Love that they add veggies which is something I'm always looking for on top of the eggs and other fillings. Chips and the green avocado salsa on the side was fire. Service is always so kind and genuine. Space is adorable and feels like a cozy families home. I got their seasonal pumpkin latte which had real pumpkin instead of the artificial overly-sweet stuff. Actually tasted like cinnamon and clove. Will be back 100x in the future. read more

Wow, a lovely visit for my first time in SLO with family. Above and beyond, friendly service, and authentic Mexican food. We tried a bit of everything- Chile Relleno, Chilaquiles Asada, Dobladitas de Pollo and the Pancakes con fruta, todo muy sabroso!! The coffee we tried was also very tasty! Yummy little spot in downtown SLO. The employees were friendly and looked stoked to be alive, which is refreshing and contagious energy. We sat out front as the place is small and was pretty packed this Saturday morning for breakfast. My partner got something I don't remember but he loved it and I ordered the chilaquiles as I do anywhere I can find them, and they were really good. Super fresh ingredients. I also ordered a Bidi Bidi Bomba and it was delicious and unique The owner or manager even came out to take our plates and was really friendly and engaging. Having tried Corazon's tacos at various breweries and events, I looked forward to seeing their full time offerings. My expectations were surpassed. A welcome addition to downtown with their flavorful, fresh and unique menu mixed with creativity and community support. We enjoyed the chilaquiles with carnitas, tostadas, quesadilla and pancakes. It was the longest I have ever waited for a meal that was the most average I have ever eaten. 40+ minutes for two breakfast wraps! And not a speck of seasoning to be found. It's okay....I paid $20 for a chicken quesadilla. I asked specifically if the chicken was shredded and she said yes once I got the quesadilla the chicken was chopped. It doesn't even taste that good and it's a normal size quesadilla I could get somewhere else for $10. Nice service though. read more

A huge shout out to Corazon Cafe & it's staff!!! My mother-in-law has been craving homemade tamales. Not being the holidays I searched...so hard to find! Corazon Cafe has them on their menu, but I wanted them by the dozens, because Mom wanted some on hand. They weren't sure if they could honor my request because I wanted them for today, Mother's Day. I was so very grateful that they were able to not only honor my request, but they went above & beyond!!! They were packed professionally, beautifully presented sauced & garnished ready to be served. I purchased both their chicken & pork tamales we made a celebratory dinner out of them tonight. They were absolutely delicious!!! My husband said it was the best tamales dough he has ever eaten & he makes tamales. Often times the dough can be really dense, thick & dry. Thiers is light, fluffy, so very moist & flavorful!!! Delicious!!! I can't thank them enough especially Fernando for making it happen!!! I was only a part of making my Mother-in-law's Mother's Day special, but her happiness & true enjoyment eating their tamales, priceless!!! I'll do it again in a heartbeat! Coffee and food with a Hispanic flair. The cafe has a small menu, but they do the food right and it's all made to order. Cafè de olla and the breakfast wrap was my order and have nothing but praise for the experience. Outdoor seating is in the shade in the morning and indoor it's comfortable and well decorated. 1 star for food - the menu is definitely a smaller menu like mentioned in other reviews. Sweet and savory. We got the breakfast burrito to share, pancakes and some drinks. I am a healthy amount of full. Portions aren't huge but good to hold you over until lunch. No leftovers for us. The pancakes were dense and lots of fruit with it. Some of the better pancakes that I have had in a long time. If you like skinny and dense pancakes this is the place to go. The burrito had great flavor. Didn't need to add hot sauce but they had options if you wanted to top off the burrito. - it was extra 4$ to add meat to the burrito. I think it might have specified on the menu. So total was 18$. Seemed like a lot for a burrito but it was still happy with the choice. 1 star for ambiance - it's a but small but fits lots of small 2-4 people groups. Cute decorations for the holidays and in general. Nice window seats and bar seats. Kinda cozy. 1 star for service -we got there before the rush. The place was full when we left. Got our food and drinks quickly considering there was one barista and a cook. There was an additional person later on, i think he was on break. The both checked in on us and helped clear plates. Definitely on top of everything! Both baristas are very nice and welcoming to everyone. Definitely appreciated how they managed the crowd. 1 for experience -again the baristas definitely made the experience welcoming and easy. Great hosts and accommodating! Lots of people didn't know to order first but they still kept an eye out and give customers menus and helped them to the register. Lively environment but not loud considering the place is smaller. Mixed review. The food was fantastic, the service was great, an issue with an item was quickly fixed, but damn, prices are expensive here. Came with the family while visiting and had the chilaquiles and 3 quesadillas and our total was $80+. Quesadillas should never cost $18+ unless stuffed w lobster or filet mignon. Again, if cost is no option, this place was great, just overpriced to me. read more

First off, when you walk in it's super cute!! Marigold flowers as decor, woven and embroidered fabrics, and other bright Mexican symbols throughout. Positive energy and cultural pride makes it a special place to come to. The service: Consistently kind, helpful, and welcoming. They were happy to walk me through their unique menu items, many of which contain specialty items like chocolate or spices imported from various places within Mexico. Menu: The coffee menu has traditional espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, etc) but also specialty drinks that you can't find anywhere else in SLO. I love the Como la Flor drink, which is an 8oz espresso drink (hot or iced) with milk of your choice, and chocolate nutty flavor. There is a surprisingly large selection of food, from breakfast items like pancakes con fruta to chilaquiles, to daily specials, to baked sweets like conchas, empanadas, and cookies. A local recommended this place to us. After looking up the address, I saw a picture of the carne asada chilaquiles had to come and try them. My wife and I also tried their mazapán latte. Everything was delicious with authentic flavors. The service was great and the staff was helpful and friendly. Even though it's a small place, there's outdoor seating and the ambiance indoors was chill- no loud music and perfect for a date. Will definitely be back! read more

Corazon means heart in Spanish. Everything we make is made with love, with heart. Specialty coffees from Mexico and a rotating menu featuring our famous chilaquiles. Locally owned by two families, and in the heart of Downtown SLO.

Meet the Business Owner: Sara M.

Community, cafe, culture, comida. These are some of my favorite things and we've created a space for those things here at our Downtown spot! We hope to have amazing food, unique drinks, stellar customer service and a warm and inviting community space that welcomes everyone. Pedro and Chencho are the ones putting their heart and soul into the everyday operations. After 15 years in downtown restaurants and 5 years catering with their start up Corazon 805 Tacos, the right place came along! Sara spends her week coordinating services for children with special needs and dreaming of more community offerings for the cafe. We all hope you love the cafe like we do!

For the smoothie, I subbed out strawberries (because I'm allergic) and added bananas. I found that to be a really great option that they have at no extra charge. For the panini, I didn't realize they had half and full orders until I got up to the kiosk. I opted for the full order, and then realized once I sat down that I probably would have been better off with the half option. My smoothie arrived at the table at 11:49, whereas my panini arrived at 11:53, so the wait in total was about 15 minutes which is not bad at all for how busy it was. My friends ordered the Greens 5 with prosciutto, Toast 4, Bowl 1, Bowl 6, and everyone agreed that we would definitely come back. One thing that was funny to us is that we felt like the photos on the menu looked smaller than the portions that actually arrived. My friend ordered the Greens and a Bowl thinking it would be small, and she realized very quickly that she was going to need a takeout box for her salad. (This is a good problem to have, rather than the other way around!). The service was also top notch. Even though I ordered on the kiosk, I was still able to interact with the employees, as they frequently came around to ask if they could clear off plates from our table. I also went up to the front to ask for a box, and she kindly directed me to where the boxes were located that I could just grab. I was wrong because, while I was waiting for our food, a man who had been in line behind us came up and grabbed one of them. Shortly after that, I noticed a woman came into the café as I was getting some napkins eating a bagel sandwich. That was an even bigger shock because she had come in at least ten minutes after us. On top of that the cashier seemed incredibly annoyed with us when we asked questions about the menu and made substitutions. Long story short, the food we did get was great, however, the entire situation was super frustrating. The avocado toast with prosciutto and burrata was delicious, and my chai latte hit the spot. Due to running to multiple places to get everyone else situated, I didn't really get to sit and enjoy my meal, and neither did my sister. We won't be going back in the future due to our experience with the cashier.

But I went back on Monday, June 8th and had a very different experience. I ordered 2 small cups of hot chai with extra foam, extra hot and 1/2 sweet. When they were done, both were "heavy" meaning they felt like there was no foam. I checked and yup...no foam. I mentioned it to the barista who said "no problem. I'll do them over". They were done quickly, but still felt "heavy". I didn't want to go back and figured "it's just me". I got into my car and tried one. It was 90% the same as before. She simply scraped a sliver of the drink off the top and added a touch of foam. Plus...the liquid was "thin" meaning she nearly scalded the drink to get it hot. The 2nd chai was the same way. And the shop wasn't even busy at the time. Everyone at the Nautical Bean is friendly and the vibe is great, but next time I'll take my own advice...even if that means going back to the barista twice to get things right.

But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. The Tamalito Negro was easily the highlight of the meal and one of the most memorable dishes I've had recently. The Peruvian black squid ink tamale was soft and flavorful, and the creamy ají amarillo sauce worked beautifully with the shrimp. It was creative, distinctive, and absolutely worth ordering. The Corazón, or grilled beef heart anticucho, was also excellent. It still had the characteristic flavor of beef heart, which I appreciated, rather than being over-marinated or disguised. The texture was just right: tender but not artificially soft, with enough chew to remain satisfying without being tough. The Seco de Cordero was much less impressive. The lamb was fine, but the cilantro-based sauce was too salty for me, and the dish did not have the same refinement or excitement as the two appetizers. At $50, I expected more. I also tried the classic Pisco Sour, which was smooth, refreshing, and much stronger than it tasted. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disorganized. After I was seated, nobody came to take my order until I actively called someone over. I was not given water and had to request it when the cocktail finally arrived. My server also entered my order incorrectly and ordered a second Tamalito Negro instead of the Corazón. The food runner noticed that I had already received the tamale, took it back to confirm with the kitchen, and only then was the mistake discovered. As a result, my appetizer arrived after my entrée. I also waited a long time after asking for the check and a to-go box, although the server eventually took the food to the back and packed it for me. The kitchen clearly has talent, particularly with the Tamalito Negro and Corazón. But at this price point, guests should not have to repeatedly flag someone down for basic service, water, correct ordering, and the check. I would consider returning for the food, but the service needs major improvement.

Corazon Cafe: Friendly Vibes, but Flavors Fall Flat Corazon Cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to its incredibly friendly staff. The menu reads like a dream, boasting fresh ingredients and dishes that sound amazing. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to expectations, especially given the higher prices. I ordered the chilaquiles with black Angus carne asada (for an extra fee), and while the portion was decent, the chilaquiles themselves lacked flavor. The carne asada, however, was the standout--perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. It's a shame that the rest of the dish couldn't match the quality of the carne asada. I also tried a tamale, which was disappointingly dry, tasted old, and, again, lacked seasoning. Despite these letdowns, I truly appreciated the great service and the positive atmosphere. We discovered this charming hidden gem, which turned out to be the ideal spot for brunch! My husband and I decided to indulge in the Chilaquiles, a vibrant dish brimming with flavor, perfectly topped with fresh ingredients that enhanced every bite. We also couldn't resist the Berrylicious pancake stack, which was a delightful tower of fluffy pancakes layered with an array of succulent berries and a drizzle of sweet syrup. To accompany our meal, we sipped on the refreshing agua de mango, which added a lovely tropical flair to our experience. The atmosphere was delightful, characterized by authentic decor that transported us to a different place, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch with a friend after shopping downtown. This cafe is always buzzing with great energy. There was a short line to order food but we found a cozy 2 top and while waiting for our food enjoyed looking at the monthly Art exhibit featuring colorful Loteria paintings. I had the Huevo Rancheros with black beans, 3 kinds of cheese delish salsa and yummy scrambled eggs. With pickled red onions. Super tasty. My friend had the 3 berry pancake special that had fluffy pancakes, juicy and local berries, yummy whipped cream and an infused maple syrup. Sorry. We were hungry and forgot to take pictures. I had a wonderful experience at this quaint cafe in downtown San Luis Obispo. The food was delicious and authentic, with generous portions and beautiful presentation. The cooks are very talented and know how to make every dish flavorful and satisfying. Thier Pozole and chilaquiles are a must! The service was quick and friendly, and our barista Coco was awesome. She was attentive, cheerful, and made us some amazing coffee drinks. The atmosphere was happy and fun, with colorful decor.
