Ah man I didn't want to love this place cause I found it to be a pretty penny but it was sooo yummy! Almost $80 for 2 people. The breakfast wrap is a burrito and costs extra to add meat which I did and brought that price to $26. It was spectacular though I do have to say. I especially loved the crunchy vegetables which were cauliflower and zucchini I believe The latte Mi Corazon was really one of the yummiest lattes I've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was very cute and colorful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is a must when in the area.

Yummy breakfast. We had huevos rancheros and pancakes. They have a wide and interesting selection of coffees, machas and horchatas. No frills. Just delicious food snd good service. We love a place where our dog is welcome.

This is our go-to coffee shop whenever we're in town! It's a cozy Mexican-style café and restaurant that always delivers amazing drinks, pastries, and food. This time I tried the mole burrito -- I thought I'd like it a bit more, but I'm still glad I gave it a try. That's one of the best things about this place: there are always so many delicious options to choose from. The only downside is how small the space is -- good luck finding a seat, especially on weekends. It's always pretty crowded when we go, but never enough to keep us from coming back. Definitely worth the stop every time!

Corazón Café is such a charming little spot! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the vibe is very much a simple, order-at-the-counter and sit-down café--perfect for a quick, delicious bite. Seating is somewhat limited, with mostly bar tops and two-tops, so it's better for smaller groups than larger parties. We tried the horchata latte, and it was absolutely delicious--sweet, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The red sauce chilaquiles were amazing, with just the right amount of flavor and heat. We added asada to ours; while the meat was a little chewy, it was still a nice protein option. The corn dobladitas with asada were also tasty and fresh, though I'd probably order them again without protein next time since the flavors stood out better on their own. Overall, everything was flavorful and satisfying. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu--it feels like one of those places where you discover a new favorite each time.

We've been wanting to try this and I'm so glad we did!! My husband got a hot Maya cocoa latte and I just got an orange juice but both were so good! He got a concha which was one of the better ones we've had in SLO county tbh and I got the special carnitas chilaquiles and it was so heartwarming and packed with flavor! A lot of onions I probably would've asked for less or on the side but they were still good! The ambiance is so cute, it's community-filled with kids drawings all over the place! Counter service was quick and nice, not much seating and was pretty packed so I'd def keep that in mind when going. Worth it tho!

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA We came here Sunday Morning for Breakfast and Coffee. They were busy. Corazon Cafe is located in downtown SLO. Decor is nice and colorful. Tables are small and comfy-ish. It doesn't look like its designed for a party over 4 people. Over all a cute and friendly shop. Like most restaurants and business Downtown It doesn't have its own parking. Parking on the St. Is metered and limited. Parking structures avail. Only a few blocks away. Restaurant can be stuffed with customers on a Sunday, so space and seating could be limited. Also common for restaurants in downtown Slo. People were accidentally rubbing and bumping into eachother, that is what we noticed but all in good spirits, everyone was friendly. No refrigeration. If its a hot day outside, more likely it will be hotter inside Corazon Cafe. Service is helpful and friendly. We didn't want to wait for our food long, but as soon as we thought of leaving at the very beginning, the gentlemen at the register said it would be from 20 to 30 min. We thought that was very considerate and smart of him to establish a time limit and so we stayed. Waited in Line about 15 minutes to order. Ordered 2 plates of chilaquiles and 2 coffees. Cashier was friendly and helpful. We found a table available as soon as we finished ordering. Food and coffee were both ready in under 15 min. Food / plate/ coffee presentation looked very nice. We notice the portions are small or smaller than average. Only Entrees served but No Sides. Price point was anywhere between $25 and $30 dlls per person. We got an entree and a coffee each. Paid 64 dlls total. Tax and tip included. Food lacks flavor. Chilaquiles were under seasoned and dry. There was not enough sauce in either of our plates. Green and red sauce were both bland and somewhat tasteless. Mole chicken didn't taste like an original mole and the dishes also lacked sides like rice and beans or maybe a queso fresco slice or a little salad. Just something could mean a great deal of difference. Coffees are good. My latte was very good. Decor and ambiance......4 stars Service.....5 stars Food presentation....5 stars Green chilaquiles....... 0 stars Red chilaquiles with mole chicken.... 0 stars Horchata Latte..... 5 stars Mayan Latte... 2 stars. Good but couldn't taste the espresso. We will come back for coffee but for a great breakfast we will have to skip chilaquiles and maybe try a different option. We are still on the lookout for the best breakfast in Slo just so we can recommend great places to the over 1000 customers we deal with on a monthly basis who are often visitors. I didn't say grace before I ate but my first spoonful of pazole had me feeling blessed. Couldn't recommend it any higher. I'm someone that typically doctors my soups with various things (oregano, onion, hot sauce, etc.) and there was nothing to add here. It was all there, along with a lime wedge to add a little citrus kick. My mocha was super on point and my gf loved her latte. The chilaquiles were a casualty of greatness in that they were good but paled in comparison to the soup and coffee. We'll definitely be back. Service was great. Inside space was a little tight but seating was readily available outside and we were checked on with perfect cadence. Try it or diet? Do yourself a favor and try it.

The food was so delicious! Came for my bday and was our first time trying this place . The chilaquiles were to die for ! We also got a lemonade which is so refreshing and an Arnold Palmer . The staff were incredibly friendly . Will definitely come back to try more dishes .

What a beautiful surprise on our way to the airport! Fantastic food, we had the breakfast burrito and the tamales with scrambled eggs.....Lordy, they are authentic and delicious. The Mamas matcha is fantastic and not too sweet. And the staff were so nice and informative with our special requests and newbie experience with the restroom situation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice little dining place in downtown SLO.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have multiple selections of specially crafted coffee so we tried the iced Horchatte and Mayan mocha - both were good although I favor the mocha more. The chilaquiles was delicious and I had the carne asada torta with chorizo, which was delectable. Try this place put if you are in town!

Came here on an out of town trip. Had the breakfast burrito and it was excellent! The sauce that came with it was also super tasty and had a nice kick. Can't recommend it enough. Service was really good and quaint little place with nice ambiance. read more

I finally got a chance to come by and try out Corazon Cafe, which is owned by the same family that runs the Corazon 805 food truck. (Also it is worth mentioning is they are NOT affiliated with the old owners of KIN/Glo coffee). The food and pastries selections were great, and I really enjoyed the cafe de olla, which also comes in cold brew, plus the chilaquiles were tasty. Will definitely be stopping by more often, especially since they have such a good location and a unique selection of coffee and treats. read more

I've visited this sweet little cafe twice in the past few months, and what a treat! As soon as you enter, you're met with color, artistry, and smiles. The decor and ambience are colorful and friendly. Both times I ordered a decaf mazapan latte, which was unusual and delicious. The servers were happy to make it vegan with oat milk. After looking at the menu, I've decided that next time I'll go a little earlier for lunch. I'm happy to see this business in downtown SLO! read more

Great tasting food! We had the Sunrise wrap with steak and it was so delicious the vegetables were fresh tasting and the meet was nice and tender. Corazon Cafe has such amazing, kind, and hardworking staff ! I live 3 hours away from SLO, today I took a small trip and this cafe was on my list of places to go visit. When I stopped by they were closed for the day BUT that did not stop them from giving me the best welcoming ever ! They let me in the cafe to take a look at the beautiful artwork and details to their cafe that makes it so special and reminds me of my culture! We had a great conversation about how they started their Cafe and even about me and what I'm going to school for ! On top of giving me the best welcome on their closed day , they gave me the most delicious champurrado and sticker to cherish on the house ! Pedro and Chencho truly made my day and gave me such a warm welcoming I will always remember , especially it being my first time in SLO. This is a Cafe worth visiting and supporting , their culture and community is beautiful! Will definitely come back to say hi read more

My husband and I were visiting in town and decided to come here for breakfast. We were hopeful given all the good reviews. I ordered the pancakes with fruit, and my husband ordered the breakfast wrap. We were a little disappointed with the selection of food available. It's very limited. I was also hoping for some orange juice, but they didn't have any. Neither my husband nor I was impressed with the food. The pancakes tasted very eggy and the breakfast wrap felt like it was missing something, like it needed potatoes or something. The downtown SLO prices felt overpriced for the quality of the food we received ($33 for just the two entrees). The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice with all the colors and decorations. We did however notice flies in the cafe when we walked in. At first, I chalked it up to be from the door being open and it being a warm day. But then I noticed a fly on top of the pastries in the pastry case, which I found to be pretty gross. To say the least, we lost our appetites and couldn't finish our food. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience here and wouldn't recommend this cafe. read more

i literally come here too much, but these are the BEST chilaquiles in town. it's a little pricey but the plate is stacked with chilaquiles, eggs cooked to your liking, some sort of protein if you want (my go to is asada) - so much so that i have to take half home. i'm not usually a fan of red salsa either, but corazon's is just so good. their coffee is also so fun! my favorite is the mazapan latte, which makes the coffee peanut-y and rich but not like peanut butter. they crush mazapan in the drink so at the bottom there is a bunch of yummy mazapan bits to drink up. i'll probably be back again this week haha read more

Looking for a place to grab a quick lunch mid drive from Santa Barbara to Carmel. Based on reviews, seemed like a good idea. Ordered the tamale and chile relleno, my wife had the chile relleno . We both ordered Paloma cocktails. It was around noon, so naturally pretty busy, but waited over 20 minutes for our cocktails 35 for our food. The so-called Palomas tasted like fruit punch with 7-Up, added to it. They swore there was tequila in there, but we did not detect any. Food came, was good, not great. Definitely not worth the wait or the price. read more

Was in town to visit son at Cal Poly and came across Corazon Cafe. Owner is a wonderful guy - great service and strikes up conversations with guests. Coffee was fantastic but even better was the cream cheese and guava empanada. The pastry was so good and the filling amazing. Highly recommend. We are back in June and will be in. read more

Food was chef's kiss and staff was super nice! Highly recommend the chilaquiles with carne asada (and that's coming from a chilaquile queen). Also, absolutely love the concept of regional Mexican inspired specialty coffees- delish. If my fiancé and I lived in the area, we'd for sure be regulars. Corazon Cafe is one of my favorite places to go for a quick bite or coffee. The food is outstanding and they have delicious coffee and pastries. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Pedro loves what he does and you can usually find him there behind the counter. My favorite dish is the chilaquiles with black beans and both salsas! I recently tried the vegetarian pozole and it was great! I highly recommend! It has cute interior with a variety of seating. Do yourself a favor and check it out! read more

My daughter and I had breakfast here and Corazon Cafe did not disappoint. The chilaquiles are offered with and without protein and they were flying off the shelf! My daughter had a breakfast wrap with protein with an iced espresso with horchata, delicious! I had chilaquiles with green chile pork and cafe de olla, also amazing! It was my first time in San Luis Obispo & I wanted to try something new and I found Corazon Cafe & let me tell you the place is super cute! I loved the Loteria that was on the wall, They played really good Spanish music from back in the days and music that's now! The staff was on top of making sure you're seated and the service was awesome! it made me feel like home the food was so delicious! My Cafecito was very yummy! Stopped by here on the way back home from Pismo Beach with my girlfriend. She saw this place on google and wanted to check it out. Well let me tell you the food was great! Service was very nice as well. Food took awhile but that was only cause it was super busy so very much understandable but so with the wait. I ordered the chilaquiles with bacon and my girlfriend prefer the chicken on and also a Mazapan latte. Corazon means heart in Spanish. Everything we make is made with love, with heart. Specialty coffees from Mexico and a rotating menu featuring our famous chilaquiles. Locally owned by two families, and in the heart of Downtown SLO.

Meet the Business Owner: Sara M.

Community, cafe, culture, comida. These are some of my favorite things and we've created a space for those things here at our Downtown spot! We hope to have amazing food, unique drinks, stellar customer service and a warm and inviting community space that welcomes everyone. Pedro and Chencho are the ones putting their heart and soul into the everyday operations. After 15 years in downtown restaurants and 5 years catering with their start up Corazon 805 Tacos, the right place came along! Sara spends her week coordinating services for children with special needs and dreaming of more community offerings for the cafe. We all hope you love the cafe like we do!

We were walk in, the hostess offered us seating in two bar areas and also made room in the front room for us. We sat at a table in the front room. It had nice ambiance and nicely decorated with plants. Our server was super sweet and helpful. We ordered a Paloma which was great but I heard the pisco sours are good and homemade. Wish we tried one but next time! The service was so fast. When we got our cocktail the food arrived! We ordered the señor lomo which was their lomo saltado. It was sooo good. The sauce was so flavorful and the filet mignon was very tender. It came with a lot of veggies, fries and rice too. Also ordered the escabeche which was a sea bass with similar delicious sauce and veggies. It had mixed colored roasted potato's underneath. Fish and the dish was soft and equally flavorful and delicious. I would say the sauce was slightly lighter than señor lomo. They had a platter of desserts on display. Wish we could have all of them. They all looked pretty and delicious. We tried the papaya creme brûlée. Thought it mostly tasted just like creme brûlée. Highly recommend. It is one of the best Peruvian places I've been. Kinda pricy though, each dish was about $40.

The Tamalito Negro was easily the highlight of the meal and one of the most memorable dishes I've had recently. The Peruvian black squid ink tamale was soft and flavorful, and the creamy ají amarillo sauce worked beautifully with the shrimp. It was creative, distinctive, and absolutely worth ordering. The Corazón, or grilled beef heart anticucho, was also excellent. It still had the characteristic flavor of beef heart, which I appreciated, rather than being over-marinated or disguised. The texture was just right: tender but not artificially soft, with enough chew to remain satisfying without being tough. The Seco de Cordero was much less impressive. The lamb was fine, but the cilantro-based sauce was too salty for me, and the dish did not have the same refinement or excitement as the two appetizers. At $50, I expected more. I also tried the classic Pisco Sour, which was smooth, refreshing, and much stronger than it tasted. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disorganized. After I was seated, nobody came to take my order until I actively called someone over. I was not given water and had to request it when the cocktail finally arrived. My server also entered my order incorrectly and ordered a second Tamalito Negro instead of the Corazón. The food runner noticed that I had already received the tamale, took it back to confirm with the kitchen, and only then was the mistake discovered. As a result, my appetizer arrived after my entrée. I also waited a long time after asking for the check and a to-go box, although the server eventually took the food to the back and packed it for me. The kitchen clearly has talent, particularly with the Tamalito Negro and Corazón. But at this price point, guests should not have to repeatedly flag someone down for basic service, water, correct ordering, and the check. I would consider returning for the food, but the service needs major improvement.

Corazon Cafe: Friendly Vibes, but Flavors Fall Flat Corazon Cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to its incredibly friendly staff. The menu reads like a dream, boasting fresh ingredients and dishes that sound amazing. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to expectations, especially given the higher prices. I ordered the chilaquiles with black Angus carne asada (for an extra fee), and while the portion was decent, the chilaquiles themselves lacked flavor. The carne asada, however, was the standout--perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. It's a shame that the rest of the dish couldn't match the quality of the carne asada. I also tried a tamale, which was disappointingly dry, tasted old, and, again, lacked seasoning. Despite these letdowns, I truly appreciated the great service and the positive atmosphere. I'll give Corazon Cafe another shot and hope for better results next time. read more

We discovered this charming hidden gem, which turned out to be the ideal spot for brunch! My husband and I decided to indulge in the Chilaquiles, a vibrant dish brimming with flavor, perfectly topped with fresh ingredients that enhanced every bite. We also couldn't resist the Berrylicious pancake stack, which was a delightful tower of fluffy pancakes layered with an array of succulent berries and a drizzle of sweet syrup. To accompany our meal, we sipped on the refreshing agua de mango, which added a lovely tropical flair to our experience. The atmosphere was delightful, characterized by authentic decor that transported us to a different place, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Additionally, the staff were incredibly nice and attentive, making our brunch even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we left feeling satisfied and happy! Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch with a friend after shopping downtown. This cafe is always buzzing with great energy. There was a short line to order food but we found a cozy 2 top and while waiting for our food enjoyed looking at the monthly Art exhibit featuring colorful Loteria paintings. I had the Huevo Rancheros with black beans, 3 kinds of cheese delish salsa and yummy scrambled eggs. With pickled red onions. Super tasty. My friend had the 3 berry pancake special that had fluffy pancakes, juicy and local berries, yummy whipped cream and an infused maple syrup. Sorry. We were hungry and forgot to take pictures. I had a wonderful experience at this quaint cafe in downtown San Luis Obispo. The food was delicious and authentic, with generous portions and beautiful presentation. The cooks are very talented and know how to make every dish flavorful and satisfying. Thier Pozole and chilaquiles are a must! The service was quick and friendly, and our barista Coco was awesome. She was attentive, cheerful, and made us some amazing coffee drinks. The atmosphere was happy and fun, with colorful decor. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food and wants to have a great time when downtown in SLO. read more

The Chilaquiles Verdes with Asada were amazing, perfectly balanced flavors with tender, juicy asada. And the Pinole Coffee! A rare find and absolutely delicious. The food here was really good. The chilaquiles were super flavorful and the chicken mole paired really well with the green salsa. The pancakes were fluffy and buttery, with fresh fruit!
