Ah man I didn't want to love this place cause I found it to be a pretty penny but it was sooo yummy! Almost $80 for 2 people. The breakfast wrap is a burrito and costs extra to add meat which I did and brought that price to $26. It was spectacular though I do have to say. I especially loved the crunchy vegetables which were cauliflower and zucchini I believe The latte Mi Corazon was really one of the yummiest lattes I've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was very cute and colorful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is a must when in the area.

Such a cute coffee shop with some of the best Mexican food you can get in SLO. Staff is friendly, drinks are fun and the chilaquiles are delicious!

Yummy breakfast. We had huevos rancheros and pancakes. They have a wide and interesting selection of coffees, machas and horchatas. No frills. Just delicious food snd good service. We love a place where our dog is welcome.

This is our go-to coffee shop whenever we're in town! It's a cozy Mexican-style café and restaurant that always delivers amazing drinks, pastries, and food. This time I tried the mole burrito -- I thought I'd like it a bit more, but I'm still glad I gave it a try. That's one of the best things about this place: there are always so many delicious options to choose from. The only downside is how small the space is -- good luck finding a seat, especially on weekends. It's always pretty crowded when we go, but never enough to keep us from coming back. Definitely worth the stop every time!

We've been wanting to try this and I'm so glad we did!! My husband got a hot Maya cocoa latte and I just got an orange juice but both were so good! He got a concha which was one of the better ones we've had in SLO county tbh and I got the special carnitas chilaquiles and it was so heartwarming and packed with flavor! A lot of onions I probably would've asked for less or on the side but they were still good! The ambiance is so cute, it's community-filled with kids drawings all over the place! Counter service was quick and nice, not much seating and was pretty packed so I'd def keep that in mind when going. Worth it tho!

Corazón Café is such a charming little spot! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the vibe is very much a simple, order-at-the-counter and sit-down café--perfect for a quick, delicious bite. Seating is somewhat limited, with mostly bar tops and two-tops, so it's better for smaller groups than larger parties. We tried the horchata latte, and it was absolutely delicious--sweet, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The red sauce chilaquiles were amazing, with just the right amount of flavor and heat. We added asada to ours; while the meat was a little chewy, it was still a nice protein option. The corn dobladitas with asada were also tasty and fresh, though I'd probably order them again without protein next time since the flavors stood out better on their own. Overall, everything was flavorful and satisfying. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu--it feels like one of those places where you discover a new favorite each time.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA We came here Sunday Morning for Breakfast and Coffee. They were busy. Corazon Cafe is located in downtown SLO. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor is nice and colorful. Tables are small and comfy-ish. It doesn't look like its designed for a party over 4 people. Over all a cute and friendly shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like most restaurants and business Downtown It doesn't have its own parking. Parking on the St. Is metered and limited. Parking structures avail. Only a few blocks away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant can be stuffed with customers on a Sunday, so space and seating could be limited. Also common for restaurants in downtown Slo[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]People were accidentally rubbing and bumping into eachother, that is what we noticed but all in good spirits, everyone was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]No refrigeration. If its a hot day outside, more likely it will be hotter inside Corazon Cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is helpful and friendly. We didn't want to wait for our food long, but as soon as we thought of leaving at the very beginning, the gentlemen at the register said it would be from 20 to 30 min. We thought that was very considerate and smart of him to establish a time limit and so we stayed. Waited in Line about 15 minutes to order. Ordered 2 plates of chilaquiles and 2 coffees. Cashier was friendly and helpful. We found a table available as soon as we finished ordering. Food and coffee were both ready in under 15 min. Food / plate/ coffee presentation looked very nice. We notice the portions are small or smaller than average. Only Entrees served but No Sides. Price point was anywhere between $25 and $30 dlls per person. We got an entree and a coffee each. Paid 64 dlls total. Tax and tip included. Food lacks flavor. Chilaquiles were under seasoned and dry. There was not enough sauce in either of our plates. Green and red sauce were both bland and somewhat tasteless. Mole chicken didn't taste like an original mole and the dishes also lacked sides like rice and beans or maybe a queso fresco slice or a little salad. Just something could mean a great deal of difference. Coffees are good. My latte was very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor and ambiance......4 stars[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service.....5 stars Food presentation....5 stars Green chilaquiles....... 0 stars Red chilaquiles with mole chicken.... 0 stars Horchata Latte..... 5 stars Mayan Latte... 2 stars. Good but couldn't taste the espresso. We will come back for coffee but for a great breakfast we will have to skip chilaquiles and maybe try a different option. We are still on the lookout for the best breakfast in Slo just so we can recommend great places to the over 1000 customers we deal with on a monthly basis who are often visitors. What a beautiful surprise on our way to the airport! Fantastic food, we had the breakfast burrito and the tamales with scrambled eggs.....Lordy, they are authentic and delicious. The Mamas matcha is fantastic and not too sweet. And the staff were so nice and informative with our special requests and newbie experience with the restroom situation. I didn't say grace before I ate but my first spoonful of pazole had me feeling blessed. Couldn't recommend it any higher. I'm someone that typically doctors my soups with various things (oregano, onion, hot sauce, etc.) and there was nothing to add here. It was all there, along with a lime wedge to add a little citrus kick. My mocha was super on point and my gf loved her latte. The chilaquiles were a casualty of greatness in that they were good but paled in comparison to the soup and coffee. We'll definitely be back. Service was great. Inside space was a little tight but seating was readily available outside and we were checked on with perfect cadence. Try it or diet? Do yourself a favor and try it.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice little dining place in downtown SLO.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have multiple selections of specially crafted coffee so we tried the iced Horchatte and Mayan mocha - both were good although I favor the mocha more. The chilaquiles was delicious and I had the carne asada torta with chorizo, which was delectable. Try this place put if you are in town!

Run. Don't walk to the greatest, most authentic Mexican food in town. Best Chili Rellanos ever! And the Dobladitas with house made chorizo are my new obsession. The Chefs Chencho and Pedro, and Sara are masters at taking farmers market veggies and incorporating them into the most delectable Mexican dishes. We had empanadas and other sweet treats from the case with a warm hot chocolate. Came back the same day for the best pozoles in all the land. The service was warm and impeccable. Skip every other place in town and try the Corazon cafe. read more

Such a cute, welcoming spot in SLO. We ordered chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, which came out quickly and were tasty and fresh. It's great that they have vegan options clearly outlined. They also have fun, creative drink options in addition to the regular stuff. They featured local student artists and run a community program -- definitely a meaningful place to support. read more

My friend and I were doing an ambitious train journey from SoCal to the Bay, and decided to make a little stop at San Luis Obispo before changing trains! I'm glad we did so we could try something yummy in SLO. WHAT I ORDERED: Iced mazapan latte Chilaquiles with carne asada FOOD + COFFEE: When I try out a coffee shop I always try to see if they have anything unique, and in this case, I definitely wanted to try the mazapan latte. It definitely tasted like the mazapan we know and love, and it was perfectly sweetened and balanced with the espresso. The chilaquiles were wonderful, and the presentation was beautiful too. Very flavorful and the carne asada was well-seasoned too. SERVICE: The staff were amazing! We had a nice conversation with the person working at the counter, and food didn't take too long to come out. VIBES: Super comfy vibes, and I loved how decorated it was. We saw quite a few people catching up with friends and just overall a cute space. BOTTOM LINE: So glad we decided to pop into this place and would love to come back next time I'm in SLO. read more

I tried really hard to like it because of all of the good reviews, but I ordered green chilaquiles and they were unable to change the eggs from scrambled to over easy. I ordered a regular coffee and it was lukewarm and tasted very watered down. Once I received the food, the chilaquiles were not flavorful and were extremely soggy. The cashier was nice and it was cute inside (great music) but I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

I came here back in November twice with my girlfriend and I wanted to make sure I left a review as it is deserved. If you are ever in the area visiting SLO, you must come here at least once. I ordered the chilaquiles for breakfast 2 days in a row when I was there because they were my favorite. We also really enjoyed the hibiscus tea. When walking in you are met with some vibrant colors as well as some culture displayed along the walls. It was a very cute spot to eat at and the people working were very friendly/ welcoming. Delicious we had coffee de Jolla an empanada de crema y guayaba, we devoured that so no pic available. Then chilaquiles rojo were delicious I would have love some fresh avocado and OM eggs but it was delicious! Customer service was excellent great experience! Located in the heart of downtown SLO, this place has such a cute, warm vibe inside with lots of adorable decor that makes you feel like you walked into a little cafe in Mexico. Keep in mind parking can be difficult since it's downtown where the areas are metered, but there are parking structures within walking distance. Ordered some coffee and breakfast wraps with bacon for carry out. The food does take a while to come out but that's okay because it comes out very hot and delicious (they use super fresh veggies and ingredients and you can tell - yum)! The coffee was also extremely delicious, and they have a pretty large coffee selection for being such a small place which is great. Keep in mind the menu is quite limited so it is not a full, extensive menu like you would expect at other typical breakfast spots. Overall, super cute little spot in SLO! read more

Delicious food, friendly staff, and a great place for a casual brunch! The owner and barista were both super kind and helpful, explaining their menu and providing recommendations on what to order. For drinks we ordered the Mayan Mocha and Horchata latte. Both were delicious -- not too sweet yet still very flavorful. To eat, we ordered the current special which was a Torta Ahogada. This was HUGE and easily fed the two of us. The ingredients tasted fresh and the food came out hot, straight from the kitchen. We also had an empanada which was delicious. However, I would probably skip the other pastries next time. Overall, for the service and quality of food, I was really impressed! I would definitely come here again to try other menu items and get a filling breakfast. Support local and try this place out :) read more

The restaurant was packed on a Saturday morning. We ordered from the counter but felt rushed with the line. Ambience was cozy and warm. We chose outdoor dining that was pleasant. My chilaquiles were fresh and crunchy and eggs were delicious. It did seem a bit dry and could've used more green sauce. My husband did not care for the pancakes, although the fruit was fresh. There didn't appear to be many "breakfasty" dishes to choose from. Cappuccino was delicious. read more

Came into SLO to watch Montana State football game @Cal Poly & decided to try out Corazon Cafe. Heard it was a cute spot serving some unique coffee & yummy food. We ordered a good amount of food n coffee to try it all! Place is cute but small n squishy definitely guests are on top of one another, we were a party of 5 all tables are meant for smaller parties...like literally 2 people, we watched as guests walking in bumping into guests already sitting down eating. Its true coffee was good we got the bidi bidi bum bum latte, mayan mocha, hot chocolate & an arnold palmer. food was NOT good small portions for the price paid all flavors of the food we ordered was off, bland. We ordered the chilaquiles, breakfast wrap, pork pozole, & stack of pancakes. the pancakes only had 3 small thin pancakes NO STACK WHATSOEVER . the pork pozole came highly recommended by the cashier taking our order, the bowl of pozole was SOOO small, 1 small quarter of a lime and a small handful of broken tortilla chips, odd flavor it didn't taste like pozole. the breakfast wrap was very dry no harmony in the wrap at all the food didn't blend well together, the chilaquiles flat again, no flavor the sauce was weak you couldn't taste the meat on it at all. This restaurant is small, but cute. They don't have a large selection of food which was not a problem for me but my husband didn't really liked the options. We ended up ordering chilaquiles with carne asada and pancakes for our kids. The chilaquiles were really good but I would have loved a little more salsa on them, they were a little dry in my opinion. My children loved the pancakes. The highlight of my meal was the orchata, it was delicious. The service was good, the girl at the register was friendly and helpful, she helped us decide on what to order. I appreciated her help since it was our first time there. As I had previously mentioned the restaurant is small, but we were able to find a small table my the large window which was nice because we could look outside. They don't have restrooms inside the restaurant, they only have public restrooms that are also used by other establishments in the location. This place is cute, small with food and drink options. I ordered the chile relleno and torta with chorizo. Each of these cost $18 which is pretty expensive considering it's not a sit down restaurant. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. A torta from a panadería usually costs $10 max same for chile relleno, so these are certainly on the pricy side. That said, the flavor of the chile relleno was great. I'd give 5 stars for food, service, and ambience, but 3 stars for price of what you get. The specialty coffee drinks are worth a try with unique, delicious flavors. Free self serve water cups and public restroom shared with a couple other establishments are a plus. read more

This is one of our favorite places to get authentic tasting food. Service is quick and both dishes I ordered were amazing, the sopas have pickled onions that is divine. The spanish rice is wonderful and the burrito was not only filling, but we ordered an extra one so I could take it with me on a hike in the morning. Beautiful and very tasty Mexican restaurant in downtown SLO. The service was excellent. Greeted with a big smile and friendly advice on what to order. The freshly squeezed orange juice was very good. I also had the cucumber water which was very refreshing. The red chilaquiles were some of the best. The sauce was very flavorful and not too spicy. The addition of the steak was perfect. Corazon means heart in Spanish. Everything we make is made with love, with heart. Specialty coffees from Mexico and a rotating menu featuring our famous chilaquiles. Locally owned by two families, and in the heart of Downtown SLO.

Meet the Business Owner: Sara M.

Community, cafe, culture, comida. These are some of my favorite things and we've created a space for those things here at our Downtown spot! We hope to have amazing food, unique drinks, stellar customer service and a warm and inviting community space that welcomes everyone. Pedro and Chencho are the ones putting their heart and soul into the everyday operations. After 15 years in downtown restaurants and 5 years catering with their start up Corazon 805 Tacos, the right place came along! Sara spends her week coordinating services for children with special needs and dreaming of more community offerings for the cafe. We all hope you love the cafe like we do!

When she returned, she assumed we were done ordering instead of asking if we wanted anything else. As a business manager I hope the service improves because the food and vibe are definitely worth it.

Corazon Cafe: Friendly Vibes, but Flavors Fall Flat Corazon Cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to its incredibly friendly staff. The menu reads like a dream, boasting fresh ingredients and dishes that sound amazing. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to expectations, especially given the higher prices. I ordered the chilaquiles with black Angus carne asada (for an extra fee), and while the portion was decent, the chilaquiles themselves lacked flavor. The carne asada, however, was the standout--perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. It's a shame that the rest of the dish couldn't match the quality of the carne asada. I also tried a tamale, which was disappointingly dry, tasted old, and, again, lacked seasoning. Despite these letdowns, I truly appreciated the great service and the positive atmosphere. I'll give Corazon Cafe another shot and hope for better results next time. read more

My husband and I decided to indulge in the Chilaquiles, a vibrant dish brimming with flavor, perfectly topped with fresh ingredients that enhanced every bite. We also couldn't resist the Berrylicious pancake stack, which was a delightful tower of fluffy pancakes layered with an array of succulent berries and a drizzle of sweet syrup. To accompany our meal, we sipped on the refreshing agua de mango, which added a lovely tropical flair to our experience. Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch with a friend after shopping downtown. This cafe is always buzzing with great energy. There was a short line to order food but we found a cozy 2 top and while waiting for our food enjoyed looking at the monthly Art exhibit featuring colorful Loteria paintings. I had the Huevo Rancheros with black beans, 3 kinds of cheese delish salsa and yummy scrambled eggs. With pickled red onions. Super tasty. My friend had the 3 berry pancake special that had fluffy pancakes, juicy and local berries, yummy whipped cream and an infused maple syrup. Sorry. We were hungry and forgot to take pictures. I had a wonderful experience at this quaint cafe in downtown San Luis Obispo. The food was delicious and authentic, with generous portions and beautiful presentation. The cooks are very talented and know how to make every dish flavorful and satisfying. Thier Pozole and chilaquiles are a must! The service was quick and friendly, and our barista Coco was awesome. She was attentive, cheerful, and made us some amazing coffee drinks. The atmosphere was happy and fun, with colorful decor.
