With the new year upon us, Core Life is a great option if you want something healthy and relatively quick. Their menu is broken down into 3 sections where you can select a green bowl, grain bowl or broth bowl. They also recently started offering tacos, which I'm intrigued in. My favorite thing to get on their menu is the Tuna Poke Fire warm rice bowl which comes with ahi tuna poke, avocado, pickled jalapeños, pickled red cabbage, sesame Sriracha sprouts and purple rice. There's lots of options as far as adding a sauce/dressing goes, but they recommend the fire sauce with the sesame ginger dressing. It's quite fresh and tasty and always hits the spot when a poke craving hits. The only other thing I've had on their menu is the chicken Cobb salad, which was nothing special. I haven't been able to explore the menu as much as I like, but they do have a create your own bowl option as well. I just imagine as most things it can get a little pricey. I would definitely suggest adding this into your rotation if you, like many others, are trying to be more health conscious this year! read more

Took a day trip to Greensboro and was looking for a healthy place where I could dine in for lunch, and Yelp led me to CoreLife Eatery. I ordered the steak salad without bacon ($12). I thought it was pretty good for a fast casual place. The preparation of the steak could have been better. Some pieces were way bigger than others and some pieces were very rare or well done. They only gave me a plastic fork to eat with so I couldn't cut the pieces smaller. Customer service was very good. They asked if I wanted the dressing tossed into the salad or on the side. This was my first time trying out Core Life Eatery and overall, I would say I was impressed. Like the rest of the world, I am trying to live a healthier and more active lifestyle, so I am always happy when a new chain comes to the area that is focused on better choices. Core Life Eatery sources their food locally and makes every meal from scratch. I was even more excited when I discovered that Core Life Eatery is in the Weight Watchers (WW) app, making food selection and counting points so easy. Their menu is a mixture of green bowls (salads), grain bowls, warm rice bowls, broth bowls, and power plates (protein with a side, vegetable and a sauce). I decided to go with the Spicy Thai Chicken & Rice Noodle grain bowl as I could get the large size bowl for low points. This bowl included napa cabbage, spicy Thai rice noodles, spicy chicken, peppers, scallions, sesame Sriracha sprouts, Thai chili sauce. It is suggested with the Thai cashew dressing, but I decided it omit it as it had more points than the bowl itself. Honestly the Thai chili sauce was enough "dressing" for me. I like spicy so I was happy with the amount of kick this bowl had. The portion was plentiful, and all the ingredients very fresh tasting as promised. The chicken was cooked well, and I liked the soft (noodle) and crispy (cabbage) contrast. While the cabbage of course outweighed the noodles, it still had just enough noodles for that extra something. There were many things on the menu that sounded tasty (and low WW points) so I will be back. Pricing is on par with other healthier quick service restaurants in the area. My large bowl was about $10 (small size was $8.50). The inside was very clean and all of employees you interact with down the assembly line were helpful and cheerful. I never review places, but this is without a doubt one of my favorite establishments to eat, for many reasons. From the quality of ingredients, the dressings made in house, the friendliness of the staff, the Mac and cheese...I definitely keep them in business lol! Similar set up to Chipotle, Chopt, etc. There are several options including green bowls, grain bowls, broth bowls, power plates, warm rice bowls and build your own. They have a bunch of signature dishes that sound delicious, but I ended up doing a build your own of mesclun lettuce, quinoa, cucumber, bell peppers, feta, pickled red onions, chicken and cucumber basil dressing (which I got on the side). I love the fact that they cook the protein to order and the chicken was really flavorful. I also really loved the cucumber basil dressing, I would buy it in a bottle if I could! They have a huge variety of raw veggies, cooked veggies, grains, toppings, broths and dressings. I personally feel like the pricing for the portion and quality is reasonable (similar to Chopt pricing). Also recommend downloading the app as you get a $5 credit for the first order and you rack up points with each order. I think of CoreLife as an option for healthy fast food. I was surprised by the interior. It was bright and organized and customers were still social distancing standing on spots waiting to order. While you are waiting, there are large posters of the types of food you can order. So CoreLife definitely has that chain fast food feel, BUT, when you get up to the counter it is a whole different story. Behind the counter are bins of fresh kale, spinach, lettuce, peppers and containers of freshly chopped ingredients like tomatoes avocados, onions, different cheees and herbs, etc. You can order directly from their menu; perhaps something vegan, or healthy, protein packed, vegetarian, Asian inspired, large, small or custom make your own creation. They have poke bowels too. The menu displays all the calories for each item If this is a concern of yours. I was really hungry when I went to order so asked for guidance. I said this is my first time here and I am really hungry, what would you recommend. She recommended the barbecue chicken rice and bean bowl. It had cheese on it, corn, nacho strips, ranch dressing and was very tasty. I got a side of brussel sprouts that were just okay and a fig vanilla ice tea which I quite enjoyed. The employees were helpful and very friendly. Needless to say, I brought most of it home for dinner!! The place was hopping on a Monday for lunch with plenty of parking. I found myself back in Greensboro for work over 6 months ago when I started my new job. It also meant getting familiar with the area and the new lunch scene. It was then my boss introduced me to CoreLife when she was treating me to lunch my first week. The menu was extensive with plenty to choose from and I decided to order the same thing she was having; a Tuna Poke Fire bowl. It sounded delicious and I love poke, although I haven't had a lot of great poke in the area. They've always either tasted mediocre or was super meager on the fish. For $12 you get tuna poke with miso sesame ginger dressing, purple rice, avocado, spicy sprouts, pickled jalapeños, pickled cabbage + Spicy fire sauce. Chipotle burritos can start running up that price just for slapping on some guac so it's a great value considering! Fast-forward and this is my favorite thing to order here for lunch and the reason why I'm giving this place 5 stars. It leaves me feeling full, satisfied, and they have taken steps to be safe given COVID. I've gone there to pick-up before and there was a designated door I had to go through, which was nice to control the flow of traffic, 6 ft markers designated throughout, and the tables were spaced with signage to keep folks from dining too closely together. They also offer delivery through their website, which I've preferred given the state of things. CoreLife is a decent lunch spot for anyone looking for relatively healthy, yet still flavorful options. The space is bright and open with a touch of industrial. Lots of salads, bowls, wraps...that sort of thing. They had pre-set menu choices along with "choose your own" options. I had the Cobb salad, which was okay, but lacking in flavor compared to other Cobbs I've had. I appreciated the addition of kale in the salad mix, but other than that, the salad was pretty lackluster and actually kind of small (even when you get the "large" bowl)...especially for the price. Another small downside was that during lunch time it was quite busy, with the line stretching almost to the door. Once you get to the counter it moves relatively quickly, so definitely not the end of the world. Price definitely wasn't "cheap", but pretty much on par with similar types of establishments. CoreLife definitely falls into that space of definitely not bad / would visit again + definitely not anything to write home about / wouldn't be in a major rush to come back territory. I've been to Corelife several times now and always enjoy the food. It's on the pricy side but isn't that the norm these days? All of the proteins are packed with flavor and the veggies are always fresh. I absolutely love their miso ginger sauce and always order that with whatever bowl I go with. The tuna is my usual and it's great but they don't give you much, like a quarter of a cup maybe. I'm sure you can ask to double the protein but that would be another upcharge on top of the other upcharges. Pay for avocado and a few other items. The staff is always nice and patient with folks as it can be a bit overwhelming to choose as their are a zillion options here. They have several cool drinks to choose from as well, saw a cayenne lemonade last time I was there. I would not order the Brussels as a side though. They are terrible, hard, fibrous and zero flavor. Desperately need seasoning! I always feel healthy after eating at Corelife which is nice when you spend so much for a meal. read more

This time of year everyone is trying to be healthy, so places like CoreLife are super busy and popular. This was my first time coming here so I decided to keep it simple and get the kale chicken Caesar salad. The greens were fresh and they grated the cheese fresh on top as well. The chicken was cooked on the grill in what tasted a little bit like a light balsamic which gave the chicken a slight tangy flavor. I got the beet lemonade to drink; it had a nice earthy taste to it and you could tell there was no added sugars or sweeteners just real ingredients. The price point here is a big higher than I would like for a salad but if you're looking to make healthy choices they do come at a cost. Overall would come back again. read more

CoreLife is easily sliding into my go-to spot for a quick lunch in this part of town. It's hard to justify a fast food stop when you can spend just a couple bucks more and not only have a ridiculously tasty meal, but also walk away feeling so dang good. I love that they're not trying to be "diet" food, but deeply satisfying and nutritious. I cannot resist the Korean BBQ pork bowl most of the time - when I think about the sauce, I HAVE to have it. And that chewy purple rice! Drool. But everything I've had here has been top notch. It's the Chipotle/Cava concept but includes a variety of cuisines - Asian, southwestern, Mediterranean, and more. You can get bowls, wraps, tacos (tortilla or naan!), and soups. The ingredients are beautiful - colorful and fresh. Staff is always friendly and the place is inviting and clean. Bonus points for a fun selection of drinks! It's in the busy area where Lawndale meets Battleground and it can be a little challenging to get in and out and parking is limited, so I prefer to go outside peak times. read more

Healthy, flexible make your own food bowls with choices like lettuce, quinoa, avocado, black beans, cheese, chicken, chives, tomatoes and several sauces. These "make your own lunch bowls" are always a hit and heathy. One of my favorites for our "lunch meetings" in the office. Always look forward to meetings- ha ha- with this for lunch. We've been going to CoreLife for a little over 2 years now, and we've loved all their food that we tried. The gluten free Mac and cheese is excellent, and that's coming from somebody who can have gluten. I really like the rice bowls and the poke bowl. #SuperHubs and I have been meaning to try this place for such a long time that we nearly forgot about it until today. We had been planning to go somewhere else, but saw it coming up the road and decided to stop inside. The first thing you should know was a lesson we had to learn the hard way. You CANNOT get in the parking lot from Lawndale Dr. You have to drive around to Westover in order to get in. Once inside, though, it's all good! We went for a late lunch (around 12:30, for us, that's late), and there were only a couple people there so maybe that's the best time to try it if you know you'll be standing in line staring dumbfounded at the menu like we were The place was neat and clean. I did notice two large tables in the center that would be perfect for a large group, so there's that. The staff was super helpful when they found out it was our first time, answering questions about the menu and such (who even knows what jicama is anyway?) There are so many options it's hard to decide but I think whatever you get will be excellent! And clean food! I'm all about that! Go ahead and give 'em a try! Tell 'em Alisha sent ya! I was surprised by the Asian-inspired dishes, and chose the spicy ginger steak and rice noodle broth bowl. It was a large serving for slightly under $11, and overall was good. I did not love the steak, and that bowl would be fine (maybe even better?) without any protein. My friend was with me (her second time) and ordered the spicy thai chicken noodle bowl - she said it was fine, but she would not order it again (expected it to be warm and it was served cold). She was a fan of the beet lemonade, though! Overall, the price point is about average ($9+ for a dish) and the veggies looked and tasted fresh. Just be careful not to go for the Parmesan crisps at the checkout counter - they are $1.25 for two and in an open-top container, so it is tempting to use the tongs and go for one ;). read more

I had a good meal during my first visit, and chose the 'build your own bowl' option. It's delicious, healthful, fairly priced, and the service was friendly. The major issue I encountered was the volume of this place, especially now that they've installed thick glass barriers for safety between the customers and the staff. The staff and I had a lot of trouble hearing each other, and I had to literally shout a couple of times to let them know what I wanted, which felt rude, but was the only way to be heard. The customer in front of me actually left in the middle of ordering because he was having trouble communicating. Maybe turn the music down until the pandemic is over? Disappointed to arrange a fun lunch out with my family, one of whom has a hearing impairment and uses hearing aids. Upon entering Core Life, the music was UNBEARABLY LOUD.... Nightclub on a Saturday night, LOUD. The restaurant was also incredibly cold !!! As we awaited the arrival of our family members I approached an assistant manager, who was LOVELY, to request that the music be turned down to a more acceptable level. He responded that he had "received MULTIPLE complaints regarding the noise but the owner was unable/ unwilling to adjust the volume." I responded that "the decibel level of the music wasn't conducive to ANYONE having a conversation and that we would have to go elsewhere!' His response was a shrug of disinterest. The amusing part was that MOST of the customers were seated alone, listening to their OWN devices. If you enjoy a dining experience with ear piercing dance-club level music, THIS is your place ! If you want a peaceful experience with a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere, head to Jason's Deli ! I was skeptical to hear of CoreLife Eatery's arrival in Greensboro. I'm a diehard Chopt fan and have tried many salad places to try to find one that matches my love for Chopt. I was hopeful CoreLife may be that for me, but was sadly disappointed. I ordered one of the salads from the menu and also tried the Caesar salad my friend had- neither really did it for me. The ingredients didn't take overly fresh and I wasn't in love with the dressings. However, the space is nice and there is plenty of seatings. The Brussels sprouts were good and the drinks are unique. CoreLife Eatery is a new, trendy restaurant off of Battleground and I just had to give it a try. The overall atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice. It's a build your own salad or grain bowl type place. They also offer preselected bowls. I enjoyed my experience well enough. Once I got to order, however, I felt rushed and the employee didn't offer any help or advice. I found myself making quick decisions and regretting it once I sat down. Maybe next time I'll go in with an idea of what I want beforehand so I can avoid that issue. Speaking of next time, I hope to come back soon, but this won't be at the top of my list. I'm posting 4 stars for the food which is delicious and warm bowls are warm and salads are cool. But the loud head-banging music played is out of place there. I come to sit down and have a delicious meal with pleasant conversation but it's extremely difficult to hear what the other person is saying. I know it's probably great for the young servers as I often see them swaying or dancing to the music, but I don't come to CoreLife for entertainment.
