I came through this location's drive through before Covid hit, I'm sure that they're still serving through the drive through though, so that's convenient. We went ahead and tried the brisket, pulled pork, and the banana pudding, nothing really blew me away besides the portions and the kind staff. The meat wasn't very tender to me. I will start by saying this: service here was wonderful. Friendly and attentive and showing a level a hospitality that was really impressive. From the moment the hostess engaged me at the door to the friendly goodbyes from the staff when I left. This is a great team here. Unfortunately, the food was pretty dissappointing. I had heard about this place as a great example of Memphis BBQ. I left feeling like I should save my BBQ cravings for when I am in Kansas City. My ribs were so overcooked and dry, they we're literally like pork jerky. I found myself pulling pieces out if my mouth thinking they were bone splinters and realized they were just sharp shards of meat. Yikes. The chicken was better and had decent flavor and moisture. Not bad, not raving. Same for the beans and slaw. I would expect better. Sweet tea and bread we're both great. I have no doubt that you might be able to have a great dinner here, but it's obvious that there are some issues with the consistency and quality of what they are putting out. It's been at least 5 years since I've been back. The waitress was nice and food was ok, nothing great. But the worse thing was when we received the check. We got the wrong food (pork sandwich was ordered but we received the beef so the order wasn't entered in correctly) and instead of fixing it right away, we were told the manager needed to talk to us. 45 min later and the the manager never showed up. We said we would just pay, and the waitress apologized profusely. Mistakes happens and it's fine to get things fixed or talk it out, but to have a manager not talk the customers and make them wait shows how poor this establishment is run. Simply ignoring customers is unacceptable. Won't be going back and not recommending this place to anyone. read more
