Went with a friend who loves this. Me,not so much. It had potential, very old well worn restaurant and I thought an old school Italian restaurant was a sure bet. Karen our waitress was the real deal. A Jersey girl, and jersey is known for good Italian food. But that's where it ended for me. My first meal in any new Italian restaurant is chicken parm. If that passes the test I'll come back and see what else they do well. But Corleone's takes the easy way out. They don't bother to do a cutlet and just served a breaded chicken breast. With a tiny bit of mozzarella melted on top. Not really chicken parm, but unfortunately lots of places are doing it this way now, or worse yet a frozen chicken patty. Wish i read the reviews here first, everyone agreed with me that while the Fettuccine Alfredo is a large serving size, but there was no cheese in the sauce so it was flavorless. Served too hot eat. It was crowded for dinner, but there was a loud buzzing noise in restaurant, and the a/c was on when it's 59 outside. I was given a wet straw in paper and my side plate had black marks that my finger could wipe off. Water comes in these cheap tall plastic glasses you'd get at some chain restaurant. Spoiled milk... tiramisu??.... Who puts milk in tiramisu???? It was soaked like tres leches. The waiter/bartender took it to the back and he came around the corner with it & it had two big bites taken out of it and the waiter even said it was spoiled and shook his head and gave us a thumbs down while saying it was bad. Well my family came here for dinner to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday. Small restaurant, tight seating. Table were out together to accommodate the size of our party. Some of the tables which were together were uneven, so when one family member put her drink down it fell over. Service was good, our waitress was polite and nice. Now the food, very disappointing. This is the best place for mac and cheese. My two daughters could not stop raving about it. The atmosphere felt like a classic, old Savannah restaurant in the best way. The chandelier made from wine bottles really stood out and added a lot of character. There's only one restroom shared by men and women, but considering how old the restaurant is, that was understandable. Inside, you can clearly feel the cozy, authentic Italian restaurant vibe. The server was friendly and attentive. Many of the guests were tourists like us, and the staff seemed to make an effort to provide quick and efficient service. I didn't try the mac and cheese myself, but my daughters absolutely loved it. I ordered a dish with fettuccine, and while it looks very simple, the flavor was excellent. The Pasta Primavera tasted like it was made with fresh, just-picked spring vegetables, very fresh and well prepared. I've been wanting to try Corleone's for a few years since I first came to Savannah. Finally, tonight I had my chance. Our server was so sweet and attentive to our needs. We were seated at the top of the ramp into the main dining area so a bit like sitting in the walkway, but we made do. When the bread sticks came I thought "wow" no fresh baked bread? We discovered after a taste that the oil on the table must have been rancid because it didn't taste right - we tried the bread without the oil and it was ok on its own. I ordered lasagna with meat sauce and my sister the muscles in a garlic broth. Both were good. All in all it was just average, nothing really special. The prices are very reasonable. However, my meal of a Marguerite flatbread pizza had to be redone because onions were placed in it even though I specified I was allergic to them. The waiter did apologize. One other diner was not told there was an upcharge for getting chicken in her Alfredo "special." That was disconcerting. The decor was heavily Italian/Mediterranean and so was the music. Place is small and it does get busy. We had reservations for 7 pm but didn't get seated until 7:20 which wasnt a big deal because the place was packed. The seating is kind of tight. We sat a table with a long bench and a chair on the other side. Decor was nice I liked the chandelier made of beer bottles.Wverything was good until we got our food. My wife ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken I Frutti Di Mare. Portion was a nice size but it lacked flavor. There was no seasoning whatsoever. Everything was bland. It what so. Land that I had to use salt which I don't usually use because I like to taste the seasoning of the food. They charged us an extra $5 for chicken that looked and tasted like it came from a Campbell's chicken noodle can (they were bigger chunks though). For that price it should have been grilled like every other place we have been to. We had to pay for the bread. Overall the place is alright if you don't mind bland food. Will I be back?
