Nothing about this place was good. Husband and I ordered the tuna melt and the tuna was lazily made. Large chunks of tuna and not enough mayo mixed into it. Mac and cheese was sub par and the fries were simply terrible. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Been dying to try this place. Ordered the reuben with fries and soda. The sandwich was piled high with corned beef and sour kraut! Services was a little slow and the sandwich could have used more Russian dressing. I will go back and hope that it is better. read more

Having seen Corned Beef King's food truck around Rockville for the past several months, I decided to finally give it a try. I'll admit, I was always curious to try them out but it wasn't until I read other yelp reviews and saw their online menu that I finally decided to actually try them out rather than wonder what they were all about. Let's get straight to it. I ordered the Milly Ann, and it was delicious. I did find myself wanting an extra kick of flavor, but it still was a nearly perfect sandwich. The sandwich came with a generous portion of thinly sliced pastrami that was still warm and obviously very fresh. The sandwich also came with a nice layer of homemade coleslaw and Russian dressing, making the sandwich nearly 4 inches in height and super satisfying. With taxes I paid $13 for the sandwich that came with a side of a quarter of a Dill pickle. The food is great, the sandwich is large, I had a nice ordering experience, but the sole reason I am giving Corned Beef King 4 out of 5 stars is because their prices do not match their portions. If the sandwiches came with a side of fries or onion rings, then I would have no problem paying $13. However, that $13 is only going to get you a really good sandwich. In short I would say Corned Beef King is delicious and expensive. Give them a try, it might be one of those food trucks that you go to once every few months to get your pastrami fix. If you love a good sandwich, you'll love them. read more

I'm from New York where a good deli sandwich is king. Since moving to MD I've been haven't found them often. I found out about Corned Beef King a couple of days ago and ordered a classic Ruben sandwich today. I went to pick it up and the staff was friendly and even offered me some chili to try. The corn beef sandwich was great and made me feel good. It's been a long time since I had a good Ruben - thanks. I'm going back for pastrami soon. read more

I challenge you to find better food at a gas station. This is a block from my office and it's some of the best sandwiches around. O'johnny (brisket sandwich) and Identity Crisis (pastrami/corned beef) are my two favorites. Local treasure of an operation. read more

Wonderful food hidden in a...gas station? This place would do well in a town center like Rockville or Bethesda. The food is amazing, service is quick and staff is friendly. Great matzo ball soup, and the sandwiches are delicious. Pastrami was the right amount of salty, with great slaw on top. The turkey was a surprise, though an odd texture, was flavorful and moist. The knish looked so good but was a bit too flakey for my liking. The meatball sandwich had an amazing sauce that had cream cheese in it, but the meatballs themselves were a bit too big, which made them a little dry and more like hamburgers than meatballs. Overall, the best deli food I've had in Olney and other than Woodside Deli, which this challenges closely, the best in Montgomery County. read more

If you randomly walked into this place and ordered a sandwich, you would be in for quite a surprise. The food is high quality and serves massive quantities that is much more common in NYC places. I'm guessing most people that eat here are more likely to read a review on yelp or they have heard of this place from someone else, so you will unlikely be surprised if you come here. This is just not the type of place that you drive by and think "That looks good, I wonder what it's like". It's literally located in the Exxon Gas station next to the chip isle. There are two small round tables to eat in if you desire. This place serves very heavy food. I'm sure the fat and calorie content is high. The Pimp Slap Shrimp: I'm not sure where the name came from, but this is an impressive sandwich! There are extra large shrimp in a mixture of just the right amount of tasty dill filling. It's more like a shrimp crab cake than and mayo based shrimp salad. There was so much shrimp that I ate 1/2 for lunch and 1/2 for dinner. The Pittsburgher: This has a very similar taste to a Primanti Bros. sandwich in Pittsburgh with the coleslaw and fries right on the sandwich. Now I've had Permanti Bros sandwiches many times and in general I'm not a big fan of the style of sandwich. So the Pittsburgher is by no surprise not my favorite sandwich here. But they definitely do it right by having massive amounts of quality meat along with good bread, fries, slaw and melted cheese. So this is definitely NOT a good place if you are looking for a date to impress someone! No matter how many 5 stars you get, it's still in an Exxon station. There is no server or wine menu. On my last visit there was an older man desperately trying to win a game of KENO right next to me. This is dive type place with no charm at all. BUT this would be great for takeout to impress someone. This place is definitely not as good as a NYC deli...so why 5 stars you may ask? Well honestly, it's more like 4.5 stars, but i gave a little extra for a few reasons. 1. Shock value for walking into an Exxon and getting a great sandwich. 2. The guy Bryan that took my order was so excited about the food (for good reason). 3. Massive amounts of food that is overall a good quality and value considering you could probably eat one order for lunch AND dinner. read more

Environment: Gas station + tables (?) What I ate: "Manhattan" What I think: I'll say the sandwich was surprisingly good, can't believe there is a place with this quality of food but in a gas station! But unfortunately the price was also surprisingly high... I understand that topping so much meat into a sandwich can be very costly maybe they should have half sandwiches on the menu to cut down the cost and make it a more affordable daily lunch..? Pastrami on Rye was great, but I have to say the first sandwich, Milly Ann (corned beef, coleslaw, and Russian dressing), that I got from Corned Beef King (in Olney, MD) was better :) The mustard was a bit pungent and thin-tasting for me, but the meat was excellent, very fresh and succulent. We like to eat at the Corn Beef King about once a month in Olney. Their reuben sandwiches are good and they are large. However, they tend to be out of Knish 90% of the time we go along with being out of a special or 2. This last time we went I picked up the Pastrami Mommy which was okay however the meat was fatty and the seasoning was lacking. My partner wanted to get the Steak and Cheese special but they were absolutely out as they had only prepped enough for 40 sandwiches .... they were also out of Knishes again. In a heavy Jewish neighbor I can't imagine why they wouldn't prep more. He ended up ordering the other special of BBQ which was ok (nothing you cannot make at home) but very minimal on the amount of meat on a rather large roll so he was still hungry afterwards. Also, their potato salad is hit or miss. There are times they season and other times it is literally just mayo & potato with a lot ot be desired. What worries me is that I have no problem patronizing a food truck but they will be moving into a small gas station soon. Listening to the owner they are scheduled to open in October but still have not figured out a staffing plan or how they will manage to move the food from their kitchen to the gas station which used to be a auto repair shop.... read more

It's great when you can find a little jewel inside a gas station! The Corned Beef King has great Reuben sandwiches and tremendous service. I came out to take care of my mother here in Maryland after having hip surgery. Just four days afterward she wanted to come to the Corn Beef King. I was skeptical. Boy was I wrong. The food was great the prices extremely reasonable and the service impeccable. The owner and his wife were gracious and accommodating. I highly recommend visiting the Corn Beef King if you're looking for a quick deli sandwich meal. Enjoy! read more

Okay, I lived in Olney and only had it once before today. And I'm mad I did that. Reuben was 11/10! My coworker loved the steak and cheese. They still have a food truck in Olney that will go to soon. If you want a great deli sandwich go here. Needs to be on Food Network, that good! Local business which is great too. They give you a lot for the price. Just go there and if you are disappointed then you don't know good sandwiches. read more

I'm currently eating a pastrami on rye with five cheese mac, and I am so, so happy. The bread is soft, the meat is delicious, and the mac is super smooth and cheesy. This food truck came to my job today and I'm very glad they did. The owner was very efficient and nice as well. I look forward to trying another sandwich on the menu next time. read more

By far this is the best pastrami sandwich in the area! No other deli comes close. I've been here 3x and they've never disappointed. Their Manhattan is the perfect mix of smoky and creamy. Creamy from the coleslaw and 1000 island. Only complaint is that the matzah ball soup lacked any flavor. Though it was good on a freezing day. read more

Wow! The corned beef king does not play around. My fiancé and I were a bit skeptical being that we haven't had a great corned beef sandwich in a LONG time. The sandwich game here is so so so on point. I had the pastrami mommy and my fiancé had the Manhattan both sandwiches were killer. Incredibly tender and seasoned to perfection. It's a big sandwich loaded with the good stuff and we only ate half but tbh I'm not sad we are going to eat this sandwich for two meals. Corned beef king until next time ‍ read more

Came here on a whim. The location is right in front of a liquor store, so that might throw a few people off. But hey, corned beef and alcohol go pretty well together, haha. While there is parking (a few spots in front and a few on the side, there is only a couple of seats for eating. It is a food truck after all. I ordered the corned beef with mustard and my wife ordered the reuben. The portions were huge! Unfortunately, it is a little pricey (why I took off the one star). But the quality of the meat was delicious! My wife said she probably wouldn't go back, but I will for sure! haha. There's a lot more menu options to try! read more

The food truck was on site for a company event. I ordered just a Reuben. The Reuben was piled high with corned beef, but honestly the sandwich was rather mediocre itself. The $12 price tag is a bit much for a sandwich with no sides IMO. Probably wouldn't try again. read more

This review is for the food truck. I've eaten from the truck two times (a reuben and a corned beef w mustard) and both sandwiches have been fantastic! The meat has wonderful flavor and texture, the bread is great, and the proportion of meat to sauce has been perfect. I'll definitely be looking for the truck again. read more

pastrami quality good, amount of pastrami was ok for a 10-12 dollar sandwich, unfortunately it was an $18.00 sandwich. Cole slaw was mediocre at best. they forgot the swiss cheese I asked for and also forgot to toast the rye. So, overall a disappointing experience read more

I've been a fan of the CBK for years. Why am I just writing a review now? Because hold up! They are finally offering half portions of their ginormous sandwiches! Their sandwiches are awesome but they're huge. Sure they're perfect to share but that's only if you can agree on which, of their many delicious sandwich offerings, you and your plus one want to share. This can get problematic at times. It's much easier said than done in my experience. Either way, woohoo! Yay for the half sandwich! Take note: 1. My overall favorite is the OG...the classic reuben. 2. When I'm not in the mood for corned beef I go with the Oh Johny (brisket, swiss, onion, horseradish). I tried the Turkey Delight once and wasn't impressed. So I try to stick to my two favs. 3. They have bangin daily specials depending on the day so look out for those. 4. There's literally a mile of meat on their sandwiches so if you don't want pastrami up your nose ask them to take it down a notch and do a "lite" version. 5. Don't go with their meals (sorry CBK!) The chips and drinks that are literally right behind you in the gas station are a much better deal than their $13-15 "combo" special. Come on now! Bottom line: If you're on the fence just stick with the reuben. Skip the chips and Dr. Brown's bubbly crap (sorry Dr. Brown, your beverages have always made me a bit nauseous). You won't be disappointed. And if you want chips and soda this place is in a gas station. There are cheaper options right behind you! read more

After a whole week of traveling, I swooped into BWI. My brother whom I hadn't seen in close to a year was celebrating his 40th birthday. It was awesome. We had menus of CBK and all 90 guests were awaiting the delicious bounty. After we desperately tried contacting the owner thru iPhone, landline, morse code, and lastly... messenger pigeon, no avail. A huge party of happy guests were ghosted by a non-committed caterer. Very unprofessional and sad for a business that has such great stature. read more

If you want a real hot pastrami sandwich as those served on Delancey Street in NYC from a time long gone. This is the place!!! I have not had such delicious pastrami in 20-30 years! Novel location in a real gas station. But this is fantastic, old Jewish deli food. The pastrami was perfect. Enough fat to keep it tasty! The knish was to die for! Let me start by saying I walked in as one of those "late/last minute walk in folks" but was treated wonderfully. I was suggested the steak and cheese with ribeye steak. I also ordered a Reuben. Two of the best sandwiches I have had period. Flavor was more than there. The steak and cheese had little to no fat. The peppers on this sandwich were perfectly cooked and complimented everything. The bread was perfectly toasted. The Reuben was perfect! Not too much dressing on the sandwich and not more sauerkraut than corned beef. Meet the Business Owner: Jon R.

Owner, Jon Rossler is no neophyte to the deli world. His family owned the former Celebrity Dellys in Rockville and Cabin John, and his sister currently runs the Celebrity Delly in Falls Church. His father Chuck Rossler, who started it all in 1975, has since retired, and Jon recently left as general manager of the Falls Church location. Rossler says he was inspired to get into the food truck business after watching a television show about the trend. "I knew I could do this better than most," he said. So he bought a truck that had been selling hot dogs and hamburgers in Montgomery County, went through the laborious permit process, had it painted... and the rest is history!

Being busy on Mother's Day is understandable, especially for a restaurant that has been around for a long time, but special occasions are exactly when service should be at its best. Sadly, we left totally disappointed. Overall rating: 2.5/5. Decent food and atmosphere couldn't make up for the long waits and poor service experience on Mother's Day.

I couldn't wait til Fridays at work not because it was almost the weekend but because I knew the Corned Beef King was coming to the office. While it is a bit pricey its the average price for a food truck. I tried the corned beef before and honestly it was good but not great. However the next time I went I decided to try the oh johnny. I now have a new favorite sandwich. its filled with meat and the au jus that comes with it is fantastic. To me the meat is a little bland so i let in soak in the au jus for about 5 minutes and after that its one of the best sandwiches around. read more

It pains me to write this, as I used to eat at the CBK food truck all the time and always loved the food and experience, but I just tried to place an order at their restaurant site and was told "umm we close in five minutes..." (In fact I was calling with ten minutes to spare which is plenty of time to make 2 sandwiches). When I asked if that was a no I was told "our grill is shut off already." Seems to me that whoever was on duty this evening had better places to be and was trying cut out ASAP, at the expense of the customer. read more
