Disgusting. Just saw that the two young kids preparing the food -one of them wasn't wearing gloves. Pretty disgusting considering he just stuck his finger inside my soup. I mentioned it to the ladies working as cashiers and one of them told "Oscar" to put on gloves. And he did. Will be reporting to the state. Every time we go the meal ordered is not the meal received. The last time, we ordered a sandwich, a panini, well done bacon, two bowls of soup and two rolls. First attempt: two sandwiches no panini, heated bacon, two soups no rolls. 2nd delivery: one sandwich fried on the grill(not a panini), bacon reheated. Love corner bakery's food and the kids eat free option on Monday. I've been to a bunch of locations and find the staff here to be friendly and accommodating. Our food is always good and if a mistake is ever made with our often complicated orders they go above and beyond to correct and make up for the issue. Would def recommend this for a quick and affordable option. Only negatives would be the early closing time and the outside bathrooms but nothing major. read more

Exceed expectations! I have had enough of Panera, and am extremely happy that this place has come along to fill the void. 2 out of my 3 visits for lunch, I've ordered the Green Chile Chicken panini. Delicious! Good tortilla soup too. Word to the wise, if you have an opportunity to get one of the chocolate bunt cakes... Do it... Dooo it. Also, wonderful. Good selections for a quick bite to eat with plenty of seating. It's not a complicated menu. My complaint would be about the menus coffee choices. The "lattes" And things leave much to be desired. I've been to this Corner Bakery a few times, and I like it. Many people have said it has a Panera type of feel, and I can see that. I love their baked French toast for breakfast. I think it is really tasty. I get it ala carte, because I think it's enough without adding eggs and other stuff to it. I also enjoy their flavored Iced tea- it's delicious! It's also one of those places where it's convenient for meeting a business acquaintance for a short meeting. I'd much rather have their iced tea than a Starbucks coffee. I think it's much tastier and more refreshing. Some people have complained that it is messy or dirty in here, but I have never experienced that when I've been in. There might be an occasional table that needs busing - but that's about it. read more

Corner Bakery caters a lot of our work events, meetings, special occasions, etc. Today they helped me out tremendously! I called them on the spur-of-a-moment and needed a large order catered within 30 minutes and Ignasio and his team came through. Being able to rely on a catering company to be on time is huge! I am grateful for our working relationship and happy that they can help me out in a pinch! Quick review for a quick lunch 5/31/11. I had Chopped salad, my two guests had sandwich combos. It was all "OK" in a kind of "similar to Panera Bread but a bit smaller and a bit more awkward" sort of way. They also seem to have found a way to introduce a "musty" carpet smell reminiscent of a genuine old English seaside coffee shop that's past it's prime, seen a few floods and allows dogs in to chew the seats. It's suprising that they've nailed that smell after such a short period of trading, especially in the absence of real dogs. Friendly staff but in a hurry - go there to chomp a quick lunch down but not to chill out and relax. read more

Called-in my order, Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad...yum! The strawberries were perfect, spinach was fresh and the pomegranate vinaigrette was delicious! I ordered one for a co-worker and asked if there were croutons because she's on a gluten-free diet, the answer was no...but there were "cranberry crisps" which is bread...with cranberries in it...at least they were easy to pick out! The cheddar broccoli soup was delicious as well. My 6-year-old niece ONLY eats Panera broccoli cheddar soup and almost didn't take a bite of this one...but she did then gobbled the rest up! Since I called my order in, I was able to skip the line. I walked in, paid and walked out! It was perfect since I only get a 30 minute lunch. You've lost my business, Corner Bakery. I'm a steady 4-5 times a month visitor of this particular location, but i will not be back. I have had a couple of less than ideal experiences here, but today was my last time. Today I ordered a 1/2 sandwich & 2 lattes. Not rocket science, right? Well my cashier Ingrid successfully made me feel like the stupidest person in the room as she asked me to repeat my sandwich order, and one of my latte orders multiple times. She couldn't get a grasp on what i meant by only wanting 1/2 of the normal amount of sweetener in my drink...again, not rocket science. One of my lattes was unflavored & the other was hazelnut flavored. The one thing that everyone in the food industry knows is how bad food allergies are- nuts especially. You are trained, there are precautions, there are signs,but still no caution was paid to my order. When Ingrid handed me my drinks, they were unlabeled. That's unacceptable. Two identical cups, identical drinks in every way but taste. She told me which was hazelnut and I immediately put a hot drink sleeve on that drink so I would not get confused. I made the necessary additions to my own drink & then left. On my way back to work, I took a sip of the drink that Ingrid told me was unflavored, she was wrong. I have had a severe allergy to nuts my entire life- this could have put me into anaphylactic shock. Luckily I did not, as the syrup was only hazelnut flavored rather than extract. It would have taken so little effort to have just labeled my drinks- its very disappointing. I will not be spending my money at this establishment anymore. There are always 15+ people working at any given time and yet they are neglectful to the point where it is now affecting their business. You just lost a loyal customer. read more

I like this place for eating breakfast. I've never been there for lunch or their bakery product. This location has a nice outside area next to a nice fountain so you can chill and get ready for the rest of your day. The customer service was pretty cool. We love this place! It's a new addition to Carlsbad and we are so excited about it. The food is terrific, my personal favorites are the BBLT (Six sliced of crisp applewood smoked bacon piled high on locally grown tomatoes and green leaf lettuce with homemade amazing cracked pepper balsamic mayo) and the French Toast (Cinnamon-swirled brioche bread baked in a rich vanilla custard). The coffee (specifically the cappuccino, chai tea latte and iced tea are terrific). The deserts are hit and miss, I loved the brownies but the cookies are dry and mild flavored but that isn't going to stop me from trying all of them. I love the European feel of this place. The dark paneling and the cozy ambiance. The outdoor section of this place is great - there is ample seating and a fountain if you want the relaxing sound of water. There is a lot of parking and lots of cute shops to walk around after your meal. read more

It is still a chain restaurant and a lot of the concept feels "artificial", but quality is good, atmosphere is cool, they have free wi-fi and a more extensive menu than the other options in this segment. read more

We're a fan of this place, love the location and deal we get with our "Smiley" Cups but... We always ask for our bagels double toasted which apparently is difficult to do since 9 times out of 10 they are far from toasted at all! We are not complainers and this is a small thing I guess. We take bets now as to if we'll get them as ordered! Also, the egg sandwiches are tasty but could be hotter and oatmeal also needs to be piping hot. They seem to need a manager on duty more often to keep things running smoothly. read more

I stopped in on a quiet Friday night simply because of the location which was right next to the yoga studio I finished a class at and I was starving. I was so pleased with the customer service, Augustina was so helpful and efficient and quickly took my order. Good deli by the Flower Fields. Friendly and efficient service with a nice outdoor patio. The fountain does a good job of muffling the noise from the traffic (I5 on one side and Paseo Del Norte on the other side). Good selection with the California Grille panini being my favorite. I frequent Corner Bakery quite often in LA and Orange County for breakfast meetings. This one in Carlsbad is located in a rather nice strip mall but is really small and appears quite dated. Regardless, breakfast offerings are abundant ranging from breakfast sandwiches, scrambled egg/omelet dishes and a large variety of baked goods, breads and bagels. I came to this Carlsbad location for a lunch meeting and ordered the Asian Wonton salad which wasn't the best quality but I liked it. It included roasted chicken, edamame, tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos and wonton chips. The cafe size is good enough and comes in a healthy portion for only $7.99. Overall a good place for a quick bite or an okay meal when you don't necessarily need anything stellar. read more

My co-worker and I have been eating there almost every day for the last couple of weeks. Like another reviewer said, when you work nearby you are super burnt on all the other nearby options. Between the two of us we have probably tried a little of everything. The food has never disappointed us! I can't get enough of their chili and their basic mixed green salad. Whatever that dressing is on the mixed green salad is absolutely amazing. They only lost one star because some of the staff still needs some work. You ask them a fairly easy question and you get the little lost doe look. Like one reviewer said "so does this come with bread?" it was a three person discussion before I got an answer to that question. A Serious Warning .... Went the other day as I so often do for their Asian wanton salad ....to go home....of course Shocked to find they had given me a different dressing totally different Tasted like peanut...didn't know until I had put it on the salad... Expecting dressing to be the usual of course BUT..... I called the restaurant and she said they had recently changed to a peanut dressing. Ugh ! I asked why the heck no notice given been getting this salad for years. My son has a peanut allergy...... This could have been a real medical emergency. This might seem trivial to some...but not to me or who all has a peanut allergy and probably who liked the salad as it was. Can no longer recommend this place that doesn't post warnings like this....or change to a product well known to be a bad allergy to a large portion of customers. Unconscionable! Just got an order to go. I tried calling twice to let them know my order was wrong but here I am since no one answered. We ordered a kids egg plate and it came with bacon, did not order that. The drink wasn't included. Ordered two sandwiches and only one came with the chips we ordered. My soups bag was ripped and almost spilled everywhere. Both sandwich containers were not closed.
