I like how the plaza off friant is coming along. There are a lot of new businesses I have not checked out. We stumbled upon Corner Bakery Cafe for some lunch. Their food kinda reminds me of Panera Bread. My husband ordered a roasted beef sandwich and it was pretty yummy. I got pasta and meat balls and I liked it. Food came out relatively fast. It's located in the corner of the plaza by Sportsman. The ambiance of the place is pretty neat. Very open and clean. They also have outdoor seating if you want to catch some sun. read more

Why do they screw up orders (delivery and to go) EVERY SINGLE TIME?!?! The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because the food is good. The service sucks. We've DoorDashed here several times and the last 5 times they've either completely forgotten a sandwich (usually mine) or they gave us a sandwich with almost zero on it. Thought we could get around the issue by picking it up instead. Got out to the car to discover - SURPRISE! - a missing sandwich!! When my husband went in to tell them they made him come back out to the car to get the bags and prove it. Then they proceeded to argue amongst themselves who screwed up. Unless the staffing/management issue gets resolved, we won't be back. read more

I was brought here by my daughters that insisted I tried the coffee here. I had the coffee latte, is very close to all other lates from Starbucks, Dutch Bross, and the small place Monkey Dog coffee, so what makes the difference is the food. First of all, we order from the lunch menu during breaks fast, so a plus to this place for letting us to do this without rolling their eyes like other places. So we order the chicken pamadori and a breakfast bacon and egg croissant. Both were very good so I guess I will have to do the 15 minute drive to enjoy my new favorite breakfast meal. read more

The worse Mac n cheese. They used penine to make Mac n cheese. My kids hated it. They don't give refunds for there food. There were missing items in the bag. 9/12/2018 update. Have not been here in awhile. Weather is nice, decided to grab a sandwich and hang out on be patio. The patio was overrun with people hijacking corner bakery tables from Other restaurants. Kids running around with their ice cream. Literally we were the only corners bakery customer on he patio. Defiantly not the expected atmosphere compared to if only corner bakery customers were dining. ----- There are 7 dirty tables inside right now and two dirty outside. It's not busy. "Big Al's" Chili had a reddish brown color. Nice chili smell and taste. Prepared with red kidney beans. Thin/watery texture. Prepared with ground beef. Not much cumin. Slight heat sensed early with swallowing. No afterburn. Salted about right. Suggest cooking down the mixture more or adding thickener. Add more cumin . Obtain coarser ground beef so chili has a more interesting texture. read more

I wish I could give more stars because the food was excellent! I had the pesto chicken pasta and half turkey bacon avocado sandwich ( I can't remember the menu name) and it was so tasty! Oh! And the lemon bar and maple pecan bar were also delicious!!! The food alone deserves 4-5 stars. The service however left a bad taste in my mouth. We stood at the front for quite a while, no greeting or "we'll be right with you". In fact we had to ask if the were open (it was like 2p on a Sunday) and they said yes and then we waited a bit longer. I was also not offered and choices of bread or chips with my meal but my friend was. It was a little disappointing considering it wasn't very busy. coworkers and I were in town on business we decided to stop in this cute little corner bakery. Our first impression was super cute and the baked goods looked really yummy. As we approach the register the cashier was very nice, but I couldn't help noticing a blonde woman standing behind the food counter kitchen area, she was extremely loud obnoxious and horse playing with the cook and I have to mention her touching her phone well over the preparation of peoples meals I asked the cashier who that employee was and they stated that she was their manager named Megan. Well that's very sad. There's such a cute little place allow their business to be put in the hands of such unprofessionalism. We all did order breakfast items. I can't speak for anyone else, but my plating was very sloppy and my eggs were burnt. Super disappointed. I'm a new mom and worked hard to get out of the house today for lunch with my baby and the experience was really bad. I will not be going back and will tell others to avoid it. Here's why: Poor food quality - the lettuce on my salad was starting to go bad and tomatoes on it were barely red. Poor service-when my food was delivered to my table, my side was missing and I had to ask for this to be corrected two times before I finally got my side. came here a few weeks ago for breakfast with friends. we ordered all our food at the front and it took almost half an hour for our food to be served. it was 9am and not busy at all. half of us got our food then and half did not. the waitress came to our tables 4 times, each time with different plates we did not ask for, or not the right amount. you'd assume they had a list of our orders, but they apparently did not. at the end, we had 3 sides of pancakes and 4 sides of potatoes that we still hadn't gotten. each time, we'd tell her exactly that and she just couldn't get it right. she practically threw a plate of potatoes in front of us. we also got charged for a lemonade we didn't order? I ordered a caramel macchiato, assuming it came with whipped cream. they charged us extra, claiming i asked for whipped cream, which I did not. they basically made us feel like we were trying to get more food than what we paid for. They made us come back to the counter to pay again for the plates we STILL hadn't gotten. This place can not get an order right, it was ridiculous. we finally got our food and it was far below average. at the front, she said a stack was 4 and a side was 3. We all ordered the side. Not sure if she knew what she was talking about because all our orders had 2 small thin pancakes. very dry potatoes, weird gooey syrup, and extremely salty "butter" on our pancakes. overall, terrible experience and will not be coming back. This place reminds me of La Boulangerie. You step up to the counter, place your order, take your number, set it on the napkin stand at your table and wait for your order to arrive to your table. I ordered a flat wrap with bacon and egg. It was served with a side of salsa and I added on a side of fruit. The flat wrap was small, I could have easily ate 2 but it was flavorful and the wrap is thicker than most wraps, complete with grill marks and smells homemade. The side of fruit was worth the money; fresh, crisp and refreshing. You will spend about $10 a person and if you are coming on a Sunday morning after 10:30, expect it to be crowded. read more

My wife picked this spot. She had come with some friends and we had a coupon. Inside is trendy yet classic. Most of the food choices are like a greasy spoon gone healthier. Three cheese mac & cheese was good. The sauce was thick and there was plenty of breadcrumbs over the top. The little one ate all that he could. Wife had the seasonal Berry Salad. It was loaded with blueberries and strawberries. It also featured pecans and blue cheese crumbles. It must have been good because it was gone fairly quickly. The pre-teen boy had the Stacked Sandwich. Basically it was a Turkey club on sourdough. He finished 1/2 of it. It was a loaded sandwich. I had the Meatball Panini. I was craving something saucy. The sandwich had sliced meatballs, mozzarella cheese and a little marinara gravy and was served with a dipping bowl of the same gravy. The gravy dipping made the sandwich from ok, to great. The sandwiches come with a side. The choices are carrot sticks, side salad or potato chips. The gentleman ahead of us recommended the potato chips. So simple yet delicious. The proprietary chips ingredient list: potatoes, light sea salt and fried in oil. (I forgot what kind of oil, but it was not olive, but maybe sunflower) The bakery case was also loaded. However it wasn't really big. The brownies were pretty good. The pecan bars were like pecan pie. I will come again for a breakfast to try that menu. read more

Met with friends for lunch last week and each of us were disappointed. Cashier at front counter was very slow, we stood in line for way too long for the short line of customers. The cashier up front looked like she didn't want to be there and when we got up to the front of the line to order she had an obvious head cold. Nice, after handling our food, paper cups, and money without washing her hands, now we can all expect to get sick soon. Short order cook wasn't a favorite I'd choose to handle my food. The menu board of food selections had multiple "not available" notices, so we can assume food isn't being ordered and stocked for the amount of customers coming through. Red bell pepper soup was cold and lumpy more like a casserole than a soup. And to top it all off, the place was filthy, including the hand and finger prints all over the glass doors as we were walking out. Wow. Management isn't involved and the poor cashier must've felt obligated to come in despite how sick she sounded and looked. Not one other person to cover her? So they're short staffed, out of food, working in a filthy environment, and management doesn't care about any of the above. Wonder how long they're going to remain in business. read more

I dropped in here for lunch around 12.30 the other day and they were Packing. Them. In! As many have noted here, it's a chain that's not unlike a Panera Bread: soups, sandwiches, flatbreads, paninis, and pastas. I'd been to one in San Francisco before where I had a good breakfast sandwich, so it's a handy spot for a quick breakfast, too. This is a new location at the Park Crossing mall on Friant, and I wasn't sure what the temperature would be, but it seems to be really popular for friends dropping in for lunch and lots of pairs and groups of work colleagues. Honestly I hadn't seen this kind of business lunch bustle in Fresno before! I enjoyed my experience here, though it was busy. The cashier made small talk, I was able to grab napkins and a drink without the tables being clogged up, and although it was heaving the seating was turning over quickly, staff were efficiently wiping down tables, and I found a seat right away. I was impressed by how many seats they've filled the place with, without it feeling over-crowded. There's also some booths and plenty of patio seating which will be great in spring. You get a numbered card and place it in a holder on the table. My food came out within a few minutes - a combo of half an Uptown Turkey Sandwich & broccoli-cheddar soup, which comes served with a small bag of kettle chips. I found it filling, the sandwich was nicely toasted with good ingredients, and fresh tomato and ripe avocado. The turkey is sliced rather than whole pieces. It ran to just under $10 with a water, so I'd probably opt for the full sandwich next time. They also have a bunch of cakes and treats which looked pretty good, and they advertise catering which must be useful for local businesses. I like having a functional lunch place like this on hand - it's nothing fancy, but the food is good, served quickly, and they bus your table afterwards. I found the staff were really efficient too and getting to all the empty plates quickly, so I hope that continues. I'll probably be back at a quieter time of day to eat, read and write for a bit. read more

It was an ok place. Similar to any soup sandwich place..... but more discombobulated.!!! Over 30 mins for my food at 1:30, they ran out of silverware and the food was cold- when it should have been hot. I came at 1:30 on a Thursday and there was plenty of staff, but no where to sit because every empty table was not cleaned off. I finally found a table and I watched as the other tables stayed unbiased for more than 25 minutes. I do like this place! I haven't been for a true breakfast meal but need to! Very similar to Panera, a little more expensive. I like the pastries, and the only meal I have tried in Mac and Cheese. The MC is okay...always looks better than it tastes. But it's very big so get the small size unless you're sharing. I wish this place had a better rewards program like Panera. It is more enticing to go back. Kind of weird, but the acoustics are great in CBC. I like to study at these bakeries and Panera is just awful! Everything echoes and it's impossible to focus. Sooo honestly, I feel bad writing this cuz the employees are super sweet but every time I have been the wait time is lil much for a coffee and burrito. They are conveniently close to my work. My unfortunate problem is that I've asked for soy substitute due to a lactose intolerance. This is the 3rd time I've gotten whole milk and now I'm currently at work doubled over on the toilet NOT having the time of my life, trying to explain to my boss that I promise I'm not playing on my phone while going #2 for the 5th time in a 2hr window.
