This is my second visit to this business and both times have been enjoyable. What makes any great organization or business? The answer is simple...great people. Everytime I drove by this place I thought I had to try it out but just never got the chance. Well today was the day! We were on the way to chick-fil when my friend spotted the cafe in the corner of her eye and suggested it. I immediately turned the wheel in it's direction and there we were. Great service can really make or break an experience and it MADE it...great. I was unsure about the soup so the cashier suggested giving us a sample. He even topped it with a garnish...not joking. I was impressed. Then he gave helpfull suggestions on what to order. I took his advice and tried the trio with the fruit medly, pasta caprese, and edamame. Don't you hate it when you pick the wrong day to be healthy? It was one of those experiences I had at the Corner bakery. Thinking I would spare a few calories, I ordered the Asian wonton salad. It sounded good and seemed like it would be loaded with veggies. I was a bit disappointed with it...The salad was over-dressed and chicken and veggies were lost in lettuce and fried wontons. I recall grabbing a quick bite here a year or so ago and I remember having the yummy panini. Maybe I will just stick to the sandwiches and the soups they offer, instead of the salads. Aside from the food, I wasn't too thrilled with the service either because our waiter was a bit inattentive. While my friends were taking pictures a few feet from our table, one of the waiters took my food away and I wasn't even done.... I guess it was an honest mistake, but I wish he had asked whether I was finished or not. This is a solid breakfast place if you're in the area. My fiancé did one of the paninis, and I did the Anaheim Scrambler. We were both very content with the quality of the food and the value. The only drawbacks were that the scrambler wasn't super warm when it came out, and the coffee was not good. I'm not super picky about coffee generally, but this coffee really wasn't even worth drinking, which is a bit sad for a breakfast place. I also recently had lunch that was catered from here. I had the turkey and avocado sandwich with chips and a chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was solid as was the cookie. The chips were only OK for me. FRENCH TOAST AND EGGS WITH BACON- french toast served with warm vanilla maple syrup, scrambled eggs, and applewood smoked bacon. The eggs were overcooked so they were very dry. The bacon could've been crispier because it was very chewy and the french toast wasn't very flavorful. It didn't soak up any flavor so it just tasted like a toast. When I dipped the toast into the syrup, all you could taste was the syrup so it was very sweet. I'm sure I could find other breakfast joints around the area. read more

My last few visits have provided horrible service. Each time, one or more of my co-workers didn't get the food till 10 -15 minutes after the rest of us. Twice we watched people come in after us and get their food before us. Only to find out (when asked) they hadn't even started preparing the order. And the last time we were there, literally every "available" table was dirty with people coming through the line and looking for a place to sit. We ended up busing our own table so we could sit. And watched others just keep searching for places to sit. I asked one of their employees if we could get a towel to wipe down our dirty table and mentioned that the people standing around were looking for a place to sit. The employee got attitude and said she'd clean them in a minute. (She never brought the towel or cleaned the other tables) Till now the coupons are what kept us coming back but yesterday we were informed that they no longer participate/honor in their own corporate coupons. So, it's become quite clear that they have now resorted to turning customers away instead of just trying to run them off with bad service. Unfortunate, because their food was pretty good. read more

I stumbled upon this place several years ago when I forgot that the Chick Fil A was closed on Sundays and tried to grab lunch there. They have a solid selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups, some really nice breakfast items, a variety of teas and coffees-- simply a great place to grab breakfast or lunch overall. Service is usually stellar, and they're always smiling and ready to help. The only knock on this place is that for having the word bakery in their name, their desserts are pretty lackluster. The atmosphere was nice, and we noticed a lot older crowd at this location. I like the fact that it's a quick-and-easy place with a friendly staff to get a decent quality meal without spending too much money. I ordered the Garden Gate Scrambler w/ Breakfast Potatoes on the side. It tasted kind of bland and didn't taste as fresh as I expected, but it was not horrible. Today, I ordered their sandwich combo, which is a half sized sandwich or panini and a cup of soup for $7. Thats about the going rate for places such as this. I thought it was a refeshing alternative to cafe express. I do not recommend the tomato basil soup at all. It tasted like sweet spaghetti sauce and did not resemble any tomato basil soup I have ever had. thumbs down. The wife had a baked potato soup which gave me soup envy during the whole meal. I went with the chicken pesto sandwich and the wife went with turkey frisco. Once again she out "WhataBurgered" me because I thought her's was better again. I thought they should have toasted or heated the bread. I will ask next time to see if thats possible. That would make the sanwich a lot better in my mind. I decided to have a late lunch with some girls at Corner Bakery Cafe this afternoon. It was a confusing drive to get there, but luckily I trusted my GPS over Google maps. If I could describe the experience, minus the drive there, I'd say it was: Easy. It was easy to order, to be served, to park, and overall to have our table cleaned soon after we were done with our meal. I had a berry parfait with a cup of cappuccino. It arrived within minutes of ordering and my parfait had the most deliciously honey roasted nuts with brown sugar in it! It was also a calm atmosphere. Their swiss oatmeal and steel cut oats are really tasty as well. Lots of options for vegetarians. I really like that their soups change daily, the thai soup is great, so is the tomoato soup. A coworker insisted I give it a try so I checked out the menu. The breakfast options looked ok but I only say pork as a meat option. I called and asked if there were other options and I was told they had chicken sausage. I was really hungry so I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and pancakes. I can not explain how good it was. The one bad thing was, my plate was empty sooner than expected. After discovering this place , I returned twice in a weeks time. What makes the menu unique are the breakfast paninis and assorted oatmeals. If you've never had cold oatmeal you are missing something special. The Chilled Swiss Oatmeal is like the muesli they serve in Europe only better. It's full of chopped apples, bananas and cranberries. But my absolute favorite oatmeal is the Berry Almond Swiss Oatmeal which is the Swiss Oatmeal with a ton of fresh strawberries and blueberries piled on and ringed with toasted almonds. Plenty of seating, self serve coffee refills and friendly staff that never rush you. Nice covered patio if you want to eat outside. Order at the counter which is not my favorite style of restaurant by far but the line moves at a decent pace. Grab a paper menu while you wait so you are ready to roll when it's your turn. I absolutely love the loaded baked potato soup. It's very filling and they do NOT skimp on serving sizes here. As at other locations the Hazelnut cream coffee is to die for. I could drink it by the gallon. My only gripe is getting your food out seems to take longer than normal every single time. One lady was ahead of me and she wanted ten muffins. This doesn't seem like an outrageous order to me at a bakery but apparently there was conflict due to a call-in muffin order. So they're scrambling to find this woman muffins (which again I find absurd but it's not really my business)... 10 minutes pass. As MuffinGate continues in front of me, no one steps up to take my order. There were seven people in the kitchen and three empty registers. No one acknowledges my presence. All I wanted was a friking coffee- which you pour yourself here. I needed to hand someone two dollars for an empty cup! Finally someone acknowledges me and offers a meek "oh sorry ma'am." So now I'm sipping my coffee (it's delicious) wondering how you have so much staff but not enough muffins and no one to man a register at breakfast rush. 4 stars??? Let's not get carried away, reviewers! It's a chain with a chain feel. But it is a decent place for a casual $7 meal. The bakery items are so-so, on par with a grocery bakery. The panini was good, but I'm spoiled with other places for that. The Chicken Poblano Fresco sandwich was unique and very good. The salads are slightly above average (for this price range). I like that they serve hot chai, but it is too pre-sweetened (must be a powder mix for a place like this). There are lots of tables, mostly empty (at least for Sunday lunch), so it's easy to hear each other talk in a group of six. But, I save my 4 stars for really good places. read more

Their fresh fruit bowl is, well fresh and very juicy. The atmosphere of the corner bakery cafe is just how the title sounds. It's very quaint and homey feeling but not in that like old, dingy feel. For those who can't seem to part from their computers for the day, it even has WIFI. I haven't tried their breakfast. My first time here and I'm happy to say I can add this to the lunch rotation! I got the Turkey Frisco sandwich combo with the loaded baked potato soup. Soup was really creamy and delicious with a good amount of potatoes, bacon, cheese and green onions in it. The sandwich was on asiago bread which is really fun, but I kinda wish it was toasted. I really like how they use more "gourmet" ingredients than your average sandwich shop (for example, they use arugala and spinach instead of plain ole iceberg lettuce). I have been a fan of this place since the day they opened. I am more of a fan of their breakfast than their lunch options. I normally get the bacon, egg and cheese panini, a cup of their Cafe Europa and most importantly, their CHOCOLATE MUFFIN! The chocolate muffin is genius. It's so moist, that you feel like you are eating a chocolate cake, but at the same time, the top has pieces of pie crust that makes the muffin particularly crunchy and offsets its sweetness. One of my favorite memories of the place is camping out there from opening time to 4 pm with some classmates as we crammed for the hardest test of our lives... Wine Appreciation. During said time, we were able to sample a big chunk of their menu- from their breakfast to their lunch sandwiches to their salads and pasta dishes. The best thing to have are definitely the sandwiches... the rest is okay. The service is really what makes this place particularly special. The people at the counter remember you, and are always on the ball. If they ever make a mistake with your order, they will the first ones to apologize and try to make up for it with free entrees or coupons for your next visit. This place isn't a gourmet coffee shop, but it is comfortable for working or holding a small business meeting.
