As he delivered my food once again like as if a ghost had set my food down not a single word he just set it down and walked away pulling his phone from his pocket and looking through it right in front of me and was much more interested on his phone than to make the restaurant look good. If you want to be greeted by a miserable person when you place your order, this is the place to go. If you want to deal with two managers who know nothing about customer service and the American Way to treat a customer this is the place to go. I had two awful experience with Emily, I believe an assistant manager. She never smiles and gives you a dirty look when you are placing your order. My first encounter she refused to give me the rewards they have and told me they do not have that system. When I went the following day, the gentleman applied the reward points to my account. When I spoke with the manager about this, and asked that he give me the points from the previous day, he said no. I boycotted this location for about a year. I went back last week to give it another try. This time, again (not) greeted by the same miserable employee, Emily. I ordered their new pasta, shrimp scampi. It was to go. There was not one piece of shrimp in it. I went back the following day for a refund. I was done with this location one more time. I spoke with the manager, Michael Martinez. He offered to give me another order of the pasta. I told him I wanted a refund. Michael then told me it would take about 30 minuted to pull up my order. Showing him my receipt wasn't good enough. This is his tactic, because most customers wouldn't wait. I work in the area and I can assure you he is going to loose several customers due to his lack in customer service and his ignorance to how we treat customers in America. I haven't found my experience at ANY Corner Bakery Cafe different from the other, so I'd rate this A-OK. We were famished and needed lunch. CBC to the rescue! The line inside was long and didn't move very fast so we were getting hungrier and hungrier. I got the Asian Chicken salad, half size and my husband got a sandwich. I love that you can get half sizes and that the calorie counts are listed. Helps in making informed decisions. The wait for food was really unexpectedly long, especially for a salad. I think we waited about 10 minutes or so and the restaurant was not that crowded (even though the line was long). We finally got our food and it was good for lunch. The atmosphere is not very warm (as Denise L has mentioned) and people were probably grumpy from waiting so long for food. I do enjoy the different flavored iced teas and lemonades though. read more

You can get a pretty good, inexpensive breakfast here and coffee refills are free, so that's a plus. They make the most excellent coffee cake here also. The scrambler breakfasts that come with breakfast potatoes or fresh fruit and toast are usually what I get. I also like the oatmeal here. Sandwiches are pretty good. Roast beef on sourdough is my favorite. Lots of small sized baked good treats to sample. One of my friends and I once decided to try six different desserts in one sitting at the South Coast Plaza location. The woman who helped us was cracking up when my friend was ordering all of it and said "for here." All I had to do was take one look at their to-go menu to fall in love. Smoked bacon & cheddar panini! On sourdough bread! This bacon, cheese, and egg party is just the perfect quick breakfast (and sometimes dinner even). The best thing to do if you're not planning on eating there is to call ahead beforehand. They have a line that's just for people picking up to-go orders, which saves you a lot of time with the lunch rush. Since we had brought our pooch to the Vet. (across the way) for a check up, we came by for brunch. For a Sunday, it was pretty pact. I think it was some of the crowd from the Farmer's Market in the same garage. Hubby got a breakfast Panini with Avocado. I got the chicken pesto sandwich. They were both pretty good and fresh. As always, I shared my chicken with the pooch. He loved it! (he doesn't eat everything). ;-) They have seating indoors and out. Corner Bakery is pretty good, but just okay for breakfast items like their scramblers. The best part about the Anaheim scrambler was the toast, which was very flavorful. The eggs appeared to have been cooked apart from the other ingredients, then tossed together, so no blending of flavors. I didn't care too much for that. It wasn't at all bad, just a bit boring. It comes with either fresh fruit, which was a nice assortment and a decent sized portion, or their potatoes, which were pretty simple. I asked for the fruit, and my wife requested the potatoes. They gave us each both. Neither of us could finish everything, so there is that, but neither did we feel compelled to stuff ourselves given the general lack of excitement. Finally, the coffee is also okay. Better than some places, but it's no substitute for a common cup of Starbucks. I went because a coupon gave me two entrees for the price of one, which is a good excuse to try a place out. Sure it's worth it with the coupon, but I wouldn't eat there without one. Had an absolutely pleasant experience here at Corner Bakery. I ordered the pesto cavatappi and a slice of cinnamon creme cake. The pasta came out piping hot, paired with a delicious baguette slice that complimented one another phenomenally. Corner Bakery shoots? And she scores. The cherry on top of my delicious meal was the cinnamon creme cake. Talk about delectable. Just crumbly enough to make a bit of a mess, but in the best way. My dear friend ordered a soy vanilla latte to pair and we were drooling! Her tomato basil soup "soothed her soul" and left her insides warm. So disappointed. I had to do curbside because I had a sleeping toddler in my car. I couldn't get though to the restaurant and had to call them 5 times before someone answered the phone so I could alert them I was there to pick up the order. Someone finally came out...I understand they are busy. She handed me a fountain drink without a straw. Ordered the kids marinara pasta with meatball and the cream pasta with sides of fruit. I didn't have the best experience with their salad in the past so went for my old time favorite chicken pomodori. Kids meals came out lukewarm but that's fine because my kiddos don't eat anything hot anyways. They liked it. They ran out of spring mix so they gave me spinach instead. I've had their pretzel sandwich, the pretzel is a bit salty for my taste buds but the lunch boxes are worth paying $9. It comes with a choice of sandwich, fruits, potato chips and a choice of cookie. I usually love corner bakery however this location is terrible. On several occasions I have ordered a salad and they hardly put any chicken on it. Like way less than what it shows on the menu. My salad did not have blue cheese like it was supposed to and my husbands salad didn't have feta on it like it was supposed to. This is the third time. And the coffee was cold. They have four canisters and ALL of them had cold coffee. And the same thing happened last time. Don't serve coffee at night if you can't keep it warm! I will never come here again read more

The portion sizes were laughable, the soup that I upgraded to a bowl wasn't anywhere near the amount you'd expect from a bowl size. Then, it was chicken noodle. Overall, I counted a single liiiiiiiiitle piece of chicken among two different types of noodles that filled the rest of it. Don't know if there were supposed to be carrots or celery in there too. The Mac and cheese didn't at all come as advertised. Again, incredibly small portion for a $7 item. Supposed to have bread crumbs, didn't. Been years since I have been here. Wont be going back any time soon. Went in and got the steak sandwich. I love mushrooms and the sandwich had them on it, so I was gung ho for it. I get up to the register and order it without onions and bell peppers and I am told that the mushrooms are mixed in with them and if I dont want onions/bell pepper that I wont get mushrooms either. So that means they are frozen if they are mixed together and cant be separated. I get it without the mix. There wasnt even enough meat to go from side to side of the roll. The meat and cheese tasted great, but a third of it was bread with nothing else. They were also out of the soup I wanted. Their survey recognized that I had a complaint and requested contact information, which I provided, but no communication from them. This was a month ago.
