Never had a problem with service or the food whenever I visit here!! I usually come during lunch rush and it's amazing how fast service is! It's located in a convenient spot that's not too far from places that you can shop at! There is parking on the street but you can also park in the free Macy's parking structure. They also provide free wifi and two tables near charging ports. Great place to just study and mingle. A great lunch location with plenty outdoor seating's. After you order your food they will give you a number to display so they bring the food to you. Their lunch variety is good. I usually get the combo sandwich and salads or if I'm craving pasta I love their cavatappi pasta. After lunch you can walk to their nearby shopping areas and also get deserts/coffee. read more

I walk by the Corner Bakery on Lake often -it's a great place to hangout and bring my sketchbook. Not too noisy, interesting people walking by and plenty of shade. A salad sounded perfect for lunch today, so I walked down the street to order a chopped salad and a lemonade. Good chopped salad, but only two tiny pieces of avocado? What a ripoff! It was more of a garnish than a main ingredient. The chicken quality is subpar and a little fatty, they also skimped on the bacon -however the smoky flavor lingers long enough in your mouth, so you don't need that much. I did enjoy the big, mild chunks of blue cheese; very tasty! Avocado aside, this salad is nicely proportioned and evenly coated with a light creamy salad dressing -not drowning in it or speckled; perfectly coated. The "cafe" size salad is just enough for lunch and it comes with a piece of bread and chilled flatware. The lemonade is a little tart but tasty with a little bit of pulp that I like -they only filled about 75% of my cup though. I was expecting a fight on their end when I asked for a refill, but they promptly handed me another lemonade for free -which is good to know because it's almost $3 and people probably assume that because the machine is behind the counter, it means no free refills. The outdoor seating area is nice and the service is great. I just wish they didn't cut so many corners to save a buck. I've had their soup and sandwiches before -I still like Panera Bread more, but they are a decent substitute when I don't feel like driving to Glendale. And the fact that it's in walking distance from my apartment means I can give myself credit for eating something healthy -IE, other than a cheeseburger- AND getting exercise. read more

A nice cafe. Kind of like a hybrid of Panera Bread and Starbucks. Good food and decent coffee. Got the pulled BBQ pork with baby carrots. A little slice of summer bbq and the perfect size if you don't want to eat that much. Truffle coffee: not the greatest but tastes like chocolate milk. I still love chocolate milk but I wanted some caffeine.. Coffee is like crack to me. I go cray cray without it. The outdoor seating is perfect on a sunny day. I've been here with my gf a couple of times and has always had a nice, cozy time. Perfect little spot to chill at and grub grub grub. Nearby there are shops like: Trader Joes/Macys/Ross/Tj Maxx/Walgreens/Anthropologie So you can get all your shopping done as well. Staff is very friendly and attentive. But beware it's warmed in the microwave and then sits on the counter getting cold. Prices are fine but the management of people and workflow is as bad as I have ever seen. Used to like the Corner Bakery very much. One could get a quick meal and sit al fresco to enjoy it. The restaurant would also be fairly well tended to, clean, and staffed with people capable of taking an order correctly. I had not been here in a while and today I met a friend at the Pasadena location for breakfast. It was early morning and we were the first ones there. We placed a simple order of scramble eggs with toast for me and pancakes for my friend. Interestingly, the attendant heard the order correctly because she charged for the correct items. However, whatever happened to the order when it reached the kitchen is a mystery. Only one order was prepared. When I claimed the scramble eggs were missing, I was being looked at as if I was speaking in tongues. Tables were not well cleaned, food crumbs could be seen underneath some of the tables. Needless to say the outside sitting. We wiped it ourselves. This restaurant should not even be open, it is obviously on life support. The service looks lost and and not properly trained and managed. This is one of my favorite places to go. The location is great. And parking is free. Me and my cousin absolutely love their chicken carbonara. (It comes with peas chicken and bacon. It also comes with their homemade sauce and bread which by the way is delicious. If you call to order ahead it will take about 10 minutes to make which is perfect because it takes me about 15 mins. to get there. I have been coming here for years and will keep coming. I asked about my refund and she asked for my credit card. I tough it would be my refund going back to my account. Wrong me, the manager charged me again. Franchise that has lost its way. At this location, it is dirty, and service is terrible. I ordered pasta for my child. When it was ready, it was sloppily presented with a piece of pasta hanging over side of bowl touching the tray. When I asked politely if they could make it look better, they laughed at me. They are unprofessional wanna be types, who have no business in the food service industry. The food has also taken a turn for the worse. They no longer have soup in bread bowls. Then I noticed that that someone's food was sitting on the counter and while that food was on the counter I seen multiple flies on the food I told the lady at the register and all she did was fan them away and continued to do what she had to do. The whole point is she seen the flies on someone's food and did nothing she didn't throw it out or anything so someone that ordered food to eat there had flies all over their food. They got my order wrong twice, and the manager had to step in while I was ordering because the cashier couldn't figure out how to put in my combo (I ordered right off the menu, no substitutions or anything) [Problem 1]. I ordered a salad and sandwich combo, but I got two sandwiches when the order was delivered. They took the order back and instead of giving me a salad, they dumped the contents of one sandwich onto the plate (it was just a tiny pile of chopped chicken, apples, and mayo - no lettuce at all, so it was WAY too greasy and oily) [Problem 2]. The sandwich that I did order (chicken pesto) didn't actually have any pesto. The sandwich was alright, but the "salad" was honestly gross. I'm never going back again because I'm so appalled at their service. They not only tried to make me just accept the wrong order, but their "correction" of my order was a joke. The part of the other they actually got right was so basic that I can't believe they charge people $10 for that. Roasted Almond Oatmeal . a bit to sweet It starts out tasting toasty, almost smoky, like the salted almonds that always disappear first from a can of mixed nuts. But almost immediately that gives way to a sweeter, almost syrupy flavor, closer to almond extract or amaretto liqueur. What it tastes most like are those Toasted Almond ice-cream bars you'd buy from the Mister Softee truck as a kid, which you still remember fondly, even though when you occasionally buy one nowadays it's never the same. Maybe they used to make them differently, or maybe it's just that you're grown up now and can't really handle a lot of sugar/dairy, but at some point Toasted Almond bars started evoking a brick of Elmer's glue covered in dust rather than the sweet summer freedom of your youth. Now, however, Corner Bakery has returned to you a small piece of that lost deliciousness, magically refashioned into a form that fits in with your healthy-breakfast-eating lifestyle. It's nice that they have patio seating, although you have to come at the right time for the umbrellas to effectively shield you from the blistering sun during summer afternoons. I like that their portions make me feel fulfilled without being overstuffed. Most of their food is fresh and you can find some healthier options. The pressed panini sandwich and caesar salad combo is extra yummy for about $7. Also, for colder days, the tomato soup is delicious with a side of kettle chips for dipping. The workers are also extra friendly here. Once, this guy gave me and my friend free brownies because he felt bad that we had to study on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Strangely, only part of the sandwich made it onto the sandwich press, so 2/3rds of the bread was nicely crisped up and the other 1/3rd was a soggy mess. Stopped by on New Years Eve day (2015) around 1:30p to pick up the Uptown Turkey Sandwich to hold me over until dinner that night. I've had this sandwich before so I know what it tastes like. This catered lunch box landed in my hands, not because I persued it, rather, my dad didnt end up eating it during his medical seminar meeting thing. So, about 3 hours later when he dropped by to see me, he asked me if Id like it instead? Umm, of course dad. It was really burnt and I took one bite but couldn't get passed the burnt taste, so I tried to get someone's attention to our table. When I couldn't, I went up to the front of the cashier and nicely asked if I could get a new garlic bread since this one was too burnt to eat. They said they'll bring a new one for me, but when they did, the new bread was so much flatter that it was honestly just the crust of the bread almost. This Corner Bakery was the venue for a recent meetup that I attended. Its large patio space is perfect for a large group looking to congregate and chat; it was an easy choice for the meetup organizer. The staff was pretty laid back in allowing us to use their space. I'm sure it helped that we had people going inside and making purchases throughout the entirety of our stay. Being a mid-afternoon Saturday, there wasn't much seating available inside the Cafe -- luckily, the staff was great about making the rounds and cleaning up tables as soon as patrons left. Finding parking near this location wasn't very easy, I'm sure me being a Pasadena newbie didn't help much. The general consensus within our group was that the most readily available parking was found at the Macy's parking structure down the street. read more
