Tried the chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread and side salad (minus the croutons). The chicken was mixed with raisins, pears(?), mayo, etc. Overall, I enjoyed the meal with iced tap water. It was tasty, filled me up, but the sandwich seemed smaller than I was expecting for the price. The salad had a very spicy and yummy Italian-style dressing or vinaigrette. I was pleased with the meal overall. It came with pre-packaged Corner Bakery potato chips. Tasted like the basic kettle chip, salt, crunchy, baked in corn oil. I sat outside and enjoyed the sunny weather. The presentation was great the ambience is great. I like the new disks they have for shade next to the tables. They look weird like out of a sci-fi movie, LOL, but they DO give much better shade. This place is kid friendly and cozy enough for busy students. It has wifi too! Park for free at Trader Joe's inside the garage and walk on over! 4 stars only because the sandwich was small, otherwise no complaints. read more

I got the roast beef poblano. It was a pretty good sandwich, nothing special, but I loved the bread that they used! The oatmeal raisin cookie I got also was good. It was crunchy, and I usually don't like crunchy cookies but I will make an exception to the rule for Corner Bakery :) I didn't enjoy their fruit cup; I would have rather gotten a whole fruit. Came here for lunch earlier in the week because I'm a huge fan of panini's and living in the L.A area I haven't found a place that has them on the menu or just haven't heard of one. My wife and I have been going to this place a lot lately. We tried it once a long time ago, and didn't like it. Maybe it was just an off day. However, I am glad we went back. The salads are refreshing, hardy and although don't seem amazingly fresh, do still leave a great impression. The sandwiches are pretty good cold or warm, and the option of different types of fresh bread is always a plus. The outside patio is a nice dog-friendly area, large in scale, and soothing for a nice morning breakfast or summer evening. The breakfast is also pretty good, nothing amazing, but again enough to have me coming back for more. I have not tried any pastries other than the cookies, but they all look fantastic. Service is always fast, sometimes the people at the register are below sub-par, but ok. There is one young guy who always has a good attitude, and is always reliable for a good laugh. Parking is available pretty easily on Lake, if there is no street parking, there is plenty of lot parking one block over. read more

HUGE fan of this place!!! All their stuff is super yummy and doesn't taste like they poured a whole salt shaker over it! Fresh tasting and prepared to order. I've come here for breakfast and enjoy their french toast and scrambles. Parking is free and easy and the staff is super friendly/sweet. One time they forgot to put something in our to-go order and when my mom went back the next day to let them know, the manager immediately offered my mom her choice of their bakery treats AND the sandwich too! Corner Bakery is one of my standby restaurants. It can usually settle a "where should we go to eat" disagreement between friends because it's so consistent and everyone can find something they like. I love the panini but have been getting the Spinach Sweet Crisp salad lately. It's very fresh and the crisps add a nice crunch. The black currant iced tea is pretty much the best fresh brewed iced tea around. We usually enjoy sitting outside because it's such a good place to people watch. read more

Corner bakery is a hit or miss. Sometimes, I love their sandiwches, but other times I think the food is marginal. I like their turkey panini, and I also like the chicken sandwich. I don't think their salads are very good They don't taste very fresh to me. My biggest complaint is for the baked goods. This place is great if you want to grab a quick bite and catch up with family or friends. The outdoor seating is comfortable and the food is good on most occasions. We used to come here often, but the last couple of times I ordered a sandwich with a side salad and found that the salads always looked wilted and slimy. I understand if once in a while you get a sad piece of lettuce, but when most pieces are questionable, it becomes a problem. The desert breads and cookies are delicious though. I very rarely write bad reviews for things, but the sandwich I just had at Corner Bakery was, quite frankly, the worst sandwich I've ever had. A super tiny amount of chicken salad with one piece of lettuce and two slices of overripe tomatoes slapped between two very stale pieces of bread. The chicken made both of us feel a bit sick and the bread was inedible. The only thing that was edible was the bag of chips that came with it. I remember eating at this place years ago and had something pretty tasty, but this was so bad that my husband and I just started laughing that anyone would charge $8 for this and serve it. I'm part of a 'ladies who do lunch' group (always at Corner Bakery), and we all have THUMBS DOWN on the new format in which the food is no longer delivered to the table. It's one thing to carry your own tray at a cafeteria, where you get your food right away. It's quite another to: * Stand in line to order the food. * Get your drink. * Find a table (outside if the weather is nice, which it typically is in SoCal). * When your buzzer goes off, go inside for your food--LEAVING YOUR DRINK UNATTENDED, and possibly losing your table because another diner thinks you're done (or maybe even the table clearers think you're done and dispose of your drink). Not to mention, who wants to leave a drink unattended anyway? (And be sure you put a lid on it because of the pigeons.) * This scenario is made worse if you've been shopping on Lake Street and have packages, which you now need to scoop up and take with you--as well as possibly a sweater or wrap (so they don't disappear by someone walking past on the sidewalk), and your purse of course, all of which increases the possibility that your table will be taken by someone else. * WHAT'S WORSE is that you're now carrying all these things, then you pick up your tray of food and have to navigate your way between the people and tables; and if you're sitting outside, you have to manage all these things while opening the door for yourself (and the doors are not automatic). The scenario above can get worse. One of the ladies in our group yesterday decided to get her drink when she picked up her food, and she accidentally DROPPED HER WHOLE SALAD, bowl upside down on the floor. Of course CB made a new salad for her (further delaying her lunch), and thankfully the dressing didn't spill on her clothes. Which is to say, it could have been worse still. Not every idea is a good one, and frankly, this one falls into that category. I am giving Corner Bakery at least two stars only because we've been very happy in the past. But frankly, if this policy continues, we might need to find another place to meet. read more

For breakfast I would recommend the pancakes or even a muffin with some coffee. They have a variety of coffee and as a coffee lover myself I enjoy the selection to choose from. I have visited every Corner Bakery in Southern California. My favorite 1 is located in Pasadena. Juan the manager always gives a hello or at the least a wave of the hand when it is extremely busy. The assistant manager Gabriel is always soft spoken, courteous and professional. The cashiers are marvelous. Evelyn, Maeghan and my favorite Mabel are upbeat when I come by. Overall the staff does work as a team. Rarely have I seen the bathroom dirty. If it is I just mention it to the manager and it is taken care of. I have dined so much in Beverly Hills and can say that I get better service when Juan and or Gabriel is on duty here. read more

Very attending, greet you as in walk in, reasonably priced meals, warm atmosphere with comfortable seating, different selection of tasty food and pastries, 4 different coffee brews at a time with different milk and creamer choices, and the food came out promptly. Went in yesterday on Sunday 1/31/16 for around late lunch, free street parking on Sundays. The Asian manager in charge was awesome. (I'm not racist whatsoever) One negative detail was the half Panini I ordered wasn't made with too much love . The chicken was lacking and ingredients was not centered on it. I come here for lunch sometimes and, like lots of places on South Lake, it can get unbearably crowded at lunchtime. their selection of salads is decent. Love that they have lots of protein sales (egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, grilled chicken) that you can throw on your salad. I like the Harvest Salad with chicken and the Asian wonton salad. A toasted sandwich, a cup of orange juice or cappuccino, and pickle and some chips, I'm ready to walk home and take a nap again. With a good book in hand (like engineering mathematics?), you can squander a perfect Sunday morning in the large outdoor dining area without noticing. It's my first visit to this place and I have been a little disappointed. I ordered a bowl of chicken risotto soup and it didn't turn out to be delicious that I was expecting. It tasted like pasta soup with pieces of sardines. Maybe next time I will order a linguini with alfredo sauce. Been here many times and I am surprised I have never reviewed it yet. I think everything on the menu is great. The only problem is I am trying to eat healthier and I just can't resist some of the decedent desserts that are here. so i come here out of convenience. it's packed during lunch hour, so i always venture over closer to 1 so i don't have to deal with a line out the door. i am a healthy eater...meaning i eat a lot. but the kid's meals are big enough for me and i have bits left over. i always get the kid's combo. mix it up with a half a sandwich with a small cup of soup. you get chips and a choice of cookie or fruit. healthy days i eat the fruit. fat days i eat the m&m cookie which is so damn good. you also get a 12 oz soda or a juice. all this for less than 5 bucks. how can you not take advantage of that. read more
