Mixed feelings about writing this review cuz mgm't and especially staff are giving a good effort. Got an email from rewards club: croissant sando $4. I haven't gone to CB too often lately cuz honestly the prices have skyrocketed and quality, portions have gone opposite direction. Give it a shot. The place has been touched up a bit since last time. It's cleaner and tidier. Dunno if that's cuz less patrons, or staff is doing a better job. CB is a confusing place, it's not "fast food" but it's not waitress comes to table type place, it falls under fast casual. But I've seen in the past where plates, silverware strewn over a dozen tables cuz there no one to bus them. But same time there isn't a trash can or station to throw away perishables and return plates to get washed. So yah, the place was clean and didn't have plates/silverware everywhere.

On to the sando, dc chicken salad croissant(regular price $10). Not much to write home about. The croissant isn't a full croissant, but looked/felt more like a dinner roll. I'm pretty sure the croissant was in the fridge/frozen at...

Tried the Anaheim panini and it was great. Service was friendly and polite. We got our food timely and enjoyed a perfectly prepared panini in their outdoor patio on a perfect sunny day. The sour dough crunch was chef's kiss.

Corner Bakery has expanded locations for their Choose Two for $6.99 (see photo). Since I was nearby, I stopped by this location for takeout. When I placed my order, the employee was unable to ring up this deal and told me she needed to ask her manager. I ended up waiting for nearly 10 minutes because the manager was apparently in the back on a phone call. It seems employee(s) may not be properly trained or aware of their current promotions. Despite multiple windows, the ambiance feels confined because of the dark upper interior colors.

A vendor recently came to our office for a presentation and brought Corner Bakery sandwiches for lunch. The sandwiches were fresh and good. They just need more protein with their bread. As always, their cookies are very good, especially the chocolate chip cookies.

Food was really underwhelming , wait time was absurd. The older gentleman at the register was really rude. I have always loved corner bakery this is our first time at this location and we will not be back. I ordered my sandwich and my boyfriend was asking the man about breakfast sandwiches. The man told him "yes we have them" and then my boyfriend tells him alright and tells him which one he wants and the man said "hold on I'm not done with her order yet." In a rude and snappy tone. There were sandwiches and food sitting on the expo counter for the 15 minutes we were in line getting cold too. Customer service is not good here. The guy with the facial piercings was the only employee who appeared awake and sentient. He had a great attitude, sad he wasn't the one who helped us and that we got the rude guy. All of our food came out cold, probably because they just leave it on the expo line for so long. Do NOT come here to this location.

Chicken Rosa Pasta - from the Santa Ana Location with an abusive manager

Food was good and service was quick and kind, but our interaction with the manager Ruby at this location was one of the worst I've ever experienced at a restaurant. She demeaned the couple who ordered ahead of us because she couldn't comprehend their accent despite their simple instructions and on top of that brought her own employees to tears. I have never EVER seen something like that from someone in a management position. The fact that any respectable establishment would allow someone to scream at their employees in such an unprofessional manner in front of customers is baffling to me. Management at the Sunflower location in Santa Ana needs to be trained on how to treat their customers as she let me stand there for 10 minutes while the other employees were struggling to keep up. Add the previously mentioned abuse of power and the environment wasn't even remotely friendly or feeling safe to eat at. I hope Corner bakery makes a change at this location otherwise I can't imagine coming back.

I was debating between 2 and 3 stars for this Corner Bakery Cafe, but I'll be nice and round up here even though I'm still a little unhappy with a couple things. I arrived shortly before 8 PM, and a couple employees were heading out as I was heading in. They asked if I was here for pickup, to which I answered negatively, and directed me to the front counter where a female cashier was ready to take my order. I had a $5 off $15 reward on my account, and I gave her my phone number so she could apply the discount to my order. I went with my go to Choose Two: Chicken Rosa Pasta, Shrimp Scampi Linguine, and Mixed Greens Salad. This time, I decided to add some twists, literally. The Chicken Rosa Pasta usually comes with cavatappi pasta while the Shrimp Scampi Linguine comes with linguine (duh! lol). However, I asked if I could "switch" the pastas here, and the cashier had no trouble making it happen. After paying for my meal, I asked her how long it would take for the kitchen to prepare my meal. She estimated 5 minutes, but it was really more like 8. During that wait, I walked around the vast interior and was astonished at how many customers could dine in at once. It was about 1.5 times the size of the Lakewood location! As if that wasn't enough, they also have a nice outdoor patio where you get a nice view of the lights around the trees. If it weren't so chilly outside, it would make for a nice, cozy dinner under the night sky, but with so many empty tables inside, I didn't want to make the busser's job more difficult by playing hide and seek. The busser with my meal was trying to find my number placard, but I could tell it was my order because there were two bowls of pasta and the Mixed Greens Salad. I had to look in his direction and motion to him using the placard. When he placed my order on the table, he meticulously set the utensils on top of the napkins, but with the prongs of the fork touching the table. To make matters worse, both the fork and the knife, the latter of which served no useful purpose, looked pretty old that I question the back of the house's dishwashing skillset. I had to be a little creative in cleaning the fork a little more without making too much of a mess. Surely, there had to be better utensils than those, right?! I was only about halfway through the Mixed Greens Salad when the busser asked me how I liked my meal. Without having even touched either of the pastas? lol but the salad wasn't too bad, especially with the generous amount of dressing they gave. I've griped in other Corner Bakery reviews about how the Shrimp Scampi Linguine can never seem to bring out the flavor it so truly deserves to have. This one also could have used more flavor, but I'm happy to report that it was more flavorful than at the other locations, largely in part due to the shrimp. I wish the pasta was as flavorful too, but considering my greatly tempered expectations for this pasta dish, I wasn't too disappointed, even though I was a little dismayed at the large puddle of sauce sitting on the bottom of my bowl upon completion. However, the Chicken Rosa Pasta, a pasta dish I used to always recommend at Corner Bakery, may no longer be my favorite anymore. I've always boasted about how bold the flavor is, but the flavor here seemed to have dissipated well before reaching my mouth. I ate this one after finishing the Shrimp Scampi Cavatappi, and it was a good thing I did because the leftover sauce from the shrimp pasta added the flavor that my taste buds had sought from the Chicken Rosa Pasta. It certainly would have been a different story had I eaten the Chicken Rosa Pasta first. Don't get me wrong, the Chicken Rosa Pasta still tastes good as a whole, but the one I had here missed the mark for me. I used the restroom before leaving, and I appreciated how it looked upkept and well maintained like Buc-ee's in New Braunfels, IYKYK. The inside has plenty of tables as well as a good amount of decor on the walls. A lot of the decor said Costa Mesa, but this Corner Bakery is actually in South Coast Village Plaza in Santa Ana, just on the other side of Sunflower from South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. There is plenty of parking available, so you shouldn't have any issues finding an open spot. When I left, an employee in a green shirt, presumably the manager on duty, made eye contact with me and thanked me for coming. He was the only one I saw with a smile on his face, and such a simple gesture like that could really make someone's day. I would say that smile is a good representation of the glimmer of hope that remains in keeping Corner Bakery in business. What do I mean by this? Lately, I've been noticing that Corner Bakery Cafe has been on the decline, with prices going in one direction and quality going in the other direction. My recent visits have seen more emptier seats inside and outside, but this location seems to be hanging in there fairly well. Seriously though, find better utensils to lend to customers!

The good: My husband and I were craving dessert while we stayed at an Airbnb nearby so we stopped by here and ordered from their bakery section. It was our first visit to any Corner Bakery location and we had low expectations because every review of every location I've seen has never been fantastic. I tried the M&M cookie, pan au chocolate (called chocolate croissant in America), pecan spiced mini Bundt cake, and crunchy sugar coated raisin bread slices. Everything was yummy! My favorite was the raisin bread sliced because it was so crunchy without being hard and tasted freshly made. It wasn't too sweet and I could definitely see myself snacking on this. It was sophisticated and pretty too! It would make a great item in a gift basket. There's plenty of parking. The bad: The pastries were all on the sweeter side so if you prefer a more subtle and less sweet pastry then this isn't the place for you. The interesting: The original "corner" was in Chicago. You can buy gift cards online. They offer catering.

This corner bakery is the only left in our nearby area, and they are very hit or miss with their food. As of now their customer service is pretty good; but the making of the food needs to be more consistent. I have visited here for all three meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner. I really like their scrambles and their pancakes, but when we order to go sometimes they're really bad about giving you everything you need for your meal. And this last time they put avocado on my scramble that was black/bruised. That was annoying because most of it was inedible. Sitting inside at breakfast is usually ok on the weekdays but on weekends it gets pretty busy. The food area has a bunch of outdoor seating with umbrellas, though. So that's a very good option. We like to bring our pup too, so this is perfect.

On the quieter, forgotten side of South Coast Plaza has a nice relaxing touch to it and it's very calm if you're looking for someplace to study and get away from all the busyness of South Coast Plaza this is the perfect spot.

I can't say enough great things about the manager at this Corner Bakery location. Thank you Ruby for your professionalism and genuine care for your customers. This manager leads by example attentive, respectful, and willing to step in to make sure everything runs smoothly. My parent's enjoy coming here and I appreciate you and MOST of your staff treating them with kindness and respect. Thank you Ruby for turning a bad situation with one of your staff members into a good experience after all.

It's my usual go to spot and I started to notice that one of the employees remembered my name and welcomed me. I work at Starbucks so I know how it is when regulars come by here and there so I acknowledge her for that. Today I went to grab a vanilla cold brew because I just like the different taste it has. I'm not sure if it was the manager or an assistant manager, but he told me it would take a bit to prepare the cold brew for me and he got right to it. He made sure I was given the customer service and I did Also after my shifts I sometimes come to get myself pasta and half a sandwich regularly. Since I came today, she was more than ready to take my order and asked me if I was going to get food even before I told her what I was going to get although today I only felt like getting the cold brew. I was surprised and she remembered my name so I felt more welcomed and acknowledged as a regular. I know she knew my order so I am glad that the employees here remember people. Pretty good spot and cleanliness is great too :) read more

When the AC blows napkins and papers off the tables it means that it is set too high. It is also very uncomfortable to eat your food with air getting blown right on your face. I also noticed that the Europa coffee today tasted little strange It also looked as if it was watered down. My breakfast Panini was still good Nonetheless. I really wish however that my sandwich was served on a regular large plate rather than on this tiny little plate that leaves you no room to handle it, open it, add pepper etc to it read more

The cashier that attended us was rude I asked her if they had a albacore sand which like other locations do and she just gave me an ugly look ruined my whole experience I observed her helping other customer and was rude to them as well. This is the closest Corner Bakery Cafe to my job and is a frequent lunch spot for me and my coworkers. Located across the street from the South Coast Mall, it shares its parking lot with Morton's Steakhouse. Favorite thing about this Corner Bakery is that it is never overly crowded, probably because there is another Corner Bakery across the street in the South Coast Mall. Food is fresh, healthy, tastes pretty good and comes at a decent price. If you sign up for their emails, you get a steady stream of coupons which allows me to always save at least 20% off my bill. My favorite things on the menu would have to be the Cobb Salad and the chocolate chip cookies. read more

I have to give this Corner Bakery a review. Why? Because they were awesome. I have been ordering from Corner bakery for our company for a couple years. I always dreaded ordering from their location in north Santa Ana. Just the worst service at that location. BUT Today is a whole new world. This location by So coast plaza was PERFECT. The food was individually bagged for each employee with their name on each bag!!! Amazing!! The other location always gave me a hard time when I said how am I supposed to know what's in the order if you don't name each order. Anyway. When I said I needed to check the order they were so helpful. Everything was there. It was on time. Not like the other location that was always late like 30mins late. This location is my new home for ordering. Even the manager was kind and helpful!!! I will drive farther to place my orders with this location. Decided to give them another chance because my daughter wanted pancakes. Unfortunately, this experience was not good again. Their dishes were dirty. I asked for an extra plate and the one they gave me was sticky with old syrup. Another plate that they served our bacon and eggs on had old sticky ketchup on it. I know they are short staffed, but this is really bad, especially during Covid. read more

I came in today and I greeted the cashier: Gerardo C. She just ignored me and didn't say hi back. She was really rude and it felt like she was obligated to be there. My burrito was made incorrectly. This location has been on my Yelp radar for some time. Their food is definitely solid, not AMAZING (and not cheap), but man... the service is here is beyond pathetic. Today was the tipping point. Waited over an hour today (on a Sunday) for 3 online orders, two scramblers and 1 kids eggs....."they were extremely backed up and busy". OH WOW... YOU'RE BUSY ON A SUNDAY??? NO WAY!!! It's a gamble going here because you don't know what you're getting. Today the food was GARBAGE, they forgot half the order and it took them well over an hour to pump out 3 orders of measly scrambled eggs. The manager was nice enough to compensate us in full, which I appreciated and was certainly the right move. But guys...get it together. the place wasn't even fully packed, it's Sunday which should be the day you ramp up staffing help (and Mother's day on top of it). Check a calendar?? No one wants to hear you're too busy or backed up...it's food service so solve for it. I'm sure this isn't the first complaint. Think it through ahead of time or don't even open your doors. Stoped by for quick lunch around 12:30pm with my girl pal and I had the 2 item combo lunch special for $8.99 which is a great deal. I got the D.C Chicken Salad and carbonara pasta. I was surprised the portions are big! My friend got the pesto sandwich and carbonara pasta. We both really enjoyed or lunch it was delicious. The server a older Latina lady was very sweet when delivering our food and removed or plates when we were finished eating. Overall our lunch date was very good! read more

I ordered 4 bowls to go and three of them should have came with garlic bread but when I got home no garlic bread. So I called and the employee Annette M answered. We said that we didn't have our bread and she said she packed it so there's no way that we don't have our bread. She gave us major attitude over bread... she said if we have a problem we can call corporate. She made a big deal over it and didn't let us speak. Management needs to check that girl. Also the food was bland and they didn't fill the bowl. The mac and cheese was just noodles no cheese... like seriously? You have a job, do it right. read more

I've been to this location about three times to meet with a specific client. It is very quiet and empty around 5:30pm. Tonight I came I and every booth table had trash and dishes. This larger dining room is empty, nobodies in line and only three tables in the whole store are occupied. There are three black shirted young employees chatting back and forth from the waiting area to the registers, about their breaks, so I understand the importance. A guy who looks like the manager, he's in a nicer polo shirt, he's come out and is clearing all the tables... crazy. I've worked food service, clear the tables, do a sweep, see what needs work... Don't get me wrong, I like corner bakery. read more

This location would not answer curve side pickup, I had to go pickup my food after called their number several times, I told the cashier I had curve side pickup, he replied "we are busy" why offer it than I asked for the manager the same cashier told he's busy. This location is a bit hidden. Facing Plaza Dr. just to the side of Morton's. Lots of tables & booths, although some are sectioned off right now due to COVID. There are many patio tables outside, if you decide to dine outdoors. Corner Bakery is a nice but casual spot. You order first up at the front counter, and get a buzzer when you're food is ready. Some locations give you a number to place at your table. Really good paninis, but I came for breakfast today. Their BBLT Sandwich is delicious and has everything you'd want in the morning. Best part...breakfast is offered all day! The buttermilk pancakes with eggs & bacon is also really good! Sign up for the email list & get coupons emailed to you periodically. You can also download the app for rewards to redeem your points. Oh they also have damn good mini bunt cakes. Right now they have Fall seasonal flavors like pumpkin & caramel pecan chocolate! I have to say GREAT costumer service!! ! I was greeted by a warm welcome by an employee named Megan. First thing she asked was how my day was going and that she'd help me with my order. With how decisive I always am, another employee named Tiffany suggested pesto cavatappi was highly recommended. Simple, easy, and very affordable! As a starting point, on this day we were here, they had more things unavailable than available on their menu. No coffee drinks, no pancakes, no wifi. Drip Coffee not prepped. Staff at the counter unpleasant and not listening to our order. We were eating there and they gave us a number to our at our table. When the food was ready, it just sat at the counter and no one brought it over. Finally they call our number. I asked if they bring it to the table and the staff person rolled her eyes and just stood there. We picked the food up. I won't come back here again. Please do better. read more

Preordered a catered lunch for 25 people. Large sandwich basket, medium ancient grains salad. It was a beautiful arrangement. Fed everyone and had leftovers. All utensils, plates and napkins provided. The food was so good. We received compliments from all of our guests. Easy pick up and had help out to the car. Friendly staff. read more

Great place to take a break from walking and shopping at this huge mall. I would prefer some bakeries than a meal here, maybe some Thai spicy soup too. The lemon cake, cookies, assorted breads & muffins are quite delicious. Sister often brings home some yummy bakeries from here after work. This place is always crowded, but the service is fast, just a little hard to find seats from time to time. And be careful of the wooden floors, it gets really slippery if you wear high heels, try not to fall. Definitely a great quick stop for me to recharge my energy from sweets & carbs for a long day shopping! read more

Communication mishap on add-on pricing. FYI - The edamame salad is not the best value at $2.99. FYI - They could wipe down tables more often than not. Sandwiches are consistently good. Pickles are great. Their teas and hibiscus drink is a great combo drink mix. read more

Never a let down here. Had a hunger on the way back from the gym and "my lady" (haven't said that since grade school) and I decided we'd grab a panini and salad. Club something panini was pretty good, could have been a little more in the meat dept but it was still tasty. Yeah I dipped it in her tomato bisque so what? I'm digging the indie music on their radio, just loud enough so we can still talk. Our sandwiches range from good to disappointing. My Ham & Swiss on pretzel roll was too dijon heavy and the roll was too dense and hard, brick-like. Yet my wife's Chicken Pesto sandwich was pretty tasty. It is not a true pesto sandwich and their "pesto mayo" is very weak. But their house vinaigrette was a great compliment to the deli sliced chicken. Very fresh taste, and the baguette was fresh too, just enough density and a nice chew. I'd get her sandwich next time, if I return. They do run nice BOGO free coupons locally. One problem was that the dining room was dirty, obviously not being cleaned often enough. But service was fast and attentive, they were happy to customize my order, and they deliver it to your table with a smile. 3.5 stars. read more

They had a special for June 19, 2018, where you get two full entree's for $9.99. I thought quite the deal so we stopped in before The Color Purple play and ordered away. We got the chopped salad and the roast beef philly. We decided to split so we could try half of each. The chopped salad was tasty and we added ranch dressing which made it that much better in lieu of their house vinaigrette. The roast philly was greasy and tasted more like chipped beef than roast beef. Not too impressed with this sandwich. Oil and grease was dribbling everywhere and not the best to eat before going to a play. Luckily, i don't get any on my shirt. I used a fork to eat the beef and passed on most of the greased soaked bread. I would not order this sandwich again. Maybe try a different one. Time will tell. read more

Pretty quiet place... probably because they're all at the one in the mall. Still super nice folks there tho! I was disappointed because they forgot 3 items, but when I called them, they jumped right on it to make it right. Great customer service! Worst experience EVER! i have been here a couple times and it has gone smooth. But today I went to pick up an order I placed on Uber Eats that cost me almost $90. When I went to go pick it up they told me if I had already picked up my order? Obviously I hadn't if i went to go pick it up???? They basically gave someone else my order FOR FREE. Came here at 11am on a Thursday and this place was busy. Was looking for a quiet place to catch up with a friend. We sat outside. There was speakers outside with music playing. It was not super loud so we were still able to enjoy a nice conversation. There is a grass area with benches located next to the restaurant. It's a nice area for kids to play. I told myself never to come here again.. and I should have listened. The first time I came here, my order took 1/2 hour to arrive. This visit, I took my 1/2 BBLT and Caeser salad to go, and substituted my chips for fruit for a small fee. The guy after me got his soup to go before me, so I thought "ok, soup is faster". Then a lady who called in her order came, and walked away with her order. Tick tick.. I asked the manager if my order was ready, and he glanced at the counter and said "it should be here soon". Tick tick.. I see what looks like bacon being packaged, and placed on the "phone order" counter. Hmm, not me, since I am a "to go" person. Tick, tick... Finally I show the manager my ticket, and my order was sitting in the "phone pick up" counter. The manager never apologized, and lucky I checked my order. I got chips instead of fruit, which I had to pay extra for. This is as bad as the one across from Main Place. 2 stars for being less than "ordinary". read more

I went on a Sunday around 5 PM and the line was short. The menu is expansive and prices are average. You are not going to get taco stand prices here as it is a brick and mortar. Service was fast. The food came out in a few minutes. They maybe have 4-5 tables outside for seating. There are no indoor tables. There is a salsa and toppings bar. I got a cabeza taco and Tripa taco. Excellent! The tacos did not disappoint and well worth the $3.50 each. Bandito Taqueria in Santa Ana, who also does Tijuana style tacos, has competition. Instantly Angel's becomes one of the best tacos in OC.

Love the location of this Corner Bakery. It is kind of hidden if you don't know the area, so I actually found it by chance one day when I was at the little independent theater that plays older movies and foreign films across the street. If you're a soup lover like I am, and you love tomato soup, the TOMATO BISQUE soup they make is absolutely delish! So good that when I order the same exact soup at any other restaurant, it always tastes like crap because I compare it to C.B.'s. It just taste very fresh. Their Paninis and salads are great too. So much variety on the menu. I still have yet to try their breakfast, but I've heard from other customers that everything is excellent. So I can't wait to try it sometime. I love their lemonade as well. They also have a nice patio outside so you can eat outdoors if you like which I love. Friendly staff too. And the best part, it never gets as crowded as the one at S.C.P. mall because of it's hidden location. And parking is never a problem. read more

The service was ridiculous today for lunch. I visit the Corner Bakery in Brea often and what a huge difference. This location seems to be catering to all of the food delivery services they were packing up for. My salad came with the blue cheese that I asked to be left off and then I had to wait another 15 minutes to get it. With 7 people working here, you would think the people standing in line would get their food in a reasonable amount of time. It took a half hour to get a very small salad that had a sprinkling of thin chicken pieces on it. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here again. read more

Went in Thursday night 6pm and it was very busy. The staff seemed pretty overwhelmed but the manager still took the time to explain the special of the day and she recommended some pastas. The line was kinda long but she still gave us wonderful service. A few people walked off angry, they need more staff. Ruby was taking orders,helping other guests and still directing the young lady in the back also told the cashier to clear tables for us. The restaurant was pretty full to our surprise. I suppose due to being a few days before Valentine's Day which is understandable. read more

Everytime I come here, this one asian guy always manages to mess up my order. For example, I'll order a pasta & he'll forget to give me my breadstick. I know that's not a big deal, but I told him & he told me he'd bring it right out. He never did... All he did was go back to the register & talk & laugh with his coworkers. I have several other scenarios, but that'd take all day to write about. Highly doubt I'm ever going back. Sucks because I'm around that area a lot. read more

Love to call in my order after work. I get there in 15 mins and they have my order right! Every time. It's convenient location for me specially after working hrs. I love the chicken carbonara pasta and the tomato soup. Also the raisin crisps are so delish, I get them every time. Always good for a quick bite while shopping. Took off a couple stars for the uncleanliness of the booths. read more
