Came here for dinner because we were craving some beef noodle soup and this place did not disappoint! There were plenty of tables and seats in this cute restaurant and they've got a simple, focused menu. We ordered the beef stew soup (no meat), beef offal noodle, and clear broth beef noodles, the wonton in chili oil, popcorn chicken, and cucumber cold dish. The beef stew and beef offal noodle had the same soup base and I liked it a lot more than the clear broth one. The noodles were all very QQ though! The wontons were good and the cucumber cold dish was also not bad (I think I would've preferred if they made it with more vinegar though). The star dish of the night was definitely the popcorn chicken though! Very nice outer crisp with juicy, tender chicken on the inside, yum! Service was very nice! I asked for more ice water for my table just once and the waiter was very perceptive and left an entire jug by my table! They also asked if we wanted any bibs to protect our clothes from any food splashing, very considerate! Overall, good food with good portions and great service! Would love to visit again
The most comforting bowl of beef noodle soup I've ever had! The quality has stayed consistently excellent over the years. The noodles are made in-house and have the perfect chewy texture, while the beef is tender and generously portioned. What brings everything together is the rich, savory broth. This bowl is more than enough for 2 people to share! I also enjoyed the Popcorn Chicken as an appetizer. The pieces are large, crispy, and very well seasoned. This restaurant is located in a plaza, but there is always ample parking. The restaurant itself is also never too busy and the employees are very efficient with helping customers get in and out.
I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. I loved it so much! Prices were fair, small parking lot out front, not much of an ambiance. We got the beef noodle soup, fried pork app, cold sesame noodles and the peanut sesame mochi dessert. Everything was spot on - my absolute favorite being the beef noodle soup. The noodles were thick and bouncy, the beef was tender, and the soup was so flavorful. The mochi would also be something I'd get again - a lot for two people though. Better to share with 4 people.
I've neve been to Taiwan but I imagine that this restaurant is close to what they serve there. My family likes the beef noodle soup here and recommends it to friends. Pricing is more than other places but the portion is large enough to have leftovers or feed two so it's acceptable. I get the tendon only beef noodle soup, as I like the texture of well cooked tendon so much. The flavor of the broth is rich and concentrated. The noodles have a bouncy chew texture and doesn't soak up the broth even when refrigerated overnight. The amount and size of tendon they give here is phenomenal, never seen quality and quantity like this really justifies the pricing. The wonton soup is also a large portion, that is sharable. The wontons are different from Hong Kong style, a big size and just ground meat no shrimp. I wouldn't order this again as the beef noodle soup is just so much better. Chilled cucumber salad was addicting and small enough portion to be finished off in one sitting. Crunchy and marinated in a quick pickle this was so yummy as a side dish. You can order soup to-go or even refrigerated so you can reheat at home in your own convenience. Limited menu but if you do one thing right it's all you need. Service was attentive and pleasant, cash payment is encouraged as you get a slight discount compared with card.
The beef noodle is just ok, and yes there is lots of ingredients and I will give 3 stars for the food. However, the service is bad. I came around 11am and I was the only customer there. The waitress assigned me to a sit just facing the restroom (the door is opened). So I wanted to sit somewhere else as no one else in the restaurant. When I told the waitress she is impolitely told me why I have to switch, she just have to close the door and that's it. I was shocked and I regretted that why I didn't insist to move to other seat. But then, when there were other people came in, she asked them they can sit 'anywhere'. It's a very unpleasant lunch for me so I won't go back to this restaurant again.
I had an adequate experience at Corner Beef Noodle House (El Monte). I ordered the Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($16.47). I loved its springy, fresh noodles; however, the soft, jelly-like beef is mildly bitter like burnt blood. It's an acquired taste. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 3% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Corner Beef Noodle House (El Monte) on Sunday (around 5PM). Parking is easy. The lot is spacious. Staff is cordial and efficient. Staff quickly took my order. My food arrived in three minutes and 20 seconds. Extremely fast!! As mentioned, I ordered the Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($16.47). The broth is thin, savory, and sweet with a light spice. The noodles are thick, springy, and fresh. And the beef melts apart in your mouth like beef gelatin. Unfortunately, the beef is also a little bitter and dry. It tastes like frugal ingredients that were well-prepared. It's not bad. Regarding ambiance, Corner Beef Noodle House (El Monte) is very clean. The floor and tables sparkled. There's about 15 tables. There's also a customer gender neutral restroom. The music is also very soft. Overall, Corner Beef Noodle House (El Monte) offered a good experience. If searching for an affordable spot, this is an option. It's not bad, but I'd visit with tempered expectations. 4.3 out of 5
To put it simply, this is one of the best beef stew noodle soups I've had, and I keep coming back for it. Every time I come, the quality remains so consistent. What makes this dish unique here is the beef itself is perfect - flavorful, tender, and almost falls apart in your mouth. The tendon similarly is soft and well seasoned. It's hard to find beef noodle soups that is so balanced and it's usually a hit whenever I bring someone here with me for the first time. The servers work fast and the restaurant has a lot of tables. They refreshed the look of their menu, and it is now really easy to read and order. If you like beef noodle soup, you need to try this one!
Without saying, it's really precious to find Taiwanese restaurants in LA. Corner Beef Noodle House is one of the jewels! Ample choices of lunch "bento" for popular Taiwanese foods -- popcorn chicken, pork chop, braised pork knuckles (ham hock) and stinky tofu. Surely you cannot miss their signature dish -- Beef noodle soup! They also provide frozen, cooked food for a convenient, quick meal when you need it. Now they have discount when you pay cash -- 10% off and buy 6 get the lucky 7th free. Some side dishes are UNIQUE and cumbersome to make such as 生腸! It's only available here throughout LA, or probably in the entire California state or nation wide! The "Ai-yu" lemon drink is also a distinctive, special beverage in Taiwan. Must grab one when you come to the Corner.
I was committed to try all of the top 5 beef noodle soups in the SGV so we headed to Corner Beef Noodle House. Located in a strip mall in El Monte on Pack Rd., the interior is minimally decorated. The menu is Chinese noodle dishes and sides. We ordered the signature beef noodle soup which was very good but the noodles were a bit over cooked. The broth was deep in flavor. Spicy wontons the wontons were huge like Wenzhou style, not your normal small wontons The sauce was a bit on the seeet side. Boiled chitllins was not good. Service was ok. Plenty of parking.
According to my friend, Reddit says this place has the best Taiwanese beef noodle soup in SGV and after going today, I'd say that is accurate! Absolutely loved the soup. Super flavorful and the braised beef was so tender and tasty, thick noodles were perfectly cooked. One bowl was enough to share because we also got popcorn chicken, fried pork chop, and Taiwanese sausage. Everything was just so good, I'm still salivating thinking about it.
The Good & Okay 1Beef Tendon Stew Noodles Ordered with less spice. The mouth feel of the beef tendon was good. 2Fried Popcorn Chicken Noodles Soup The mouth feel of Popcorn Chicken was good. More seasonings on the top of chicken would be better. More leaves would be better too. (Spending over $50) Free Winter Melon Tea: A pleasant free addition to the meal. The Disappointment 3Braised Pork Feet Underboiled! Both of the mouth feel and tasate were not good. The meat needed more cooking time. And 3 out of 4 pieces still had hair on them. Disgusting! The staff automatically waived the charge for this dish. My Advice: I suggested that if the pork feet are not fully prepared or up to standard, they should inform customers and stop selling them, so that they can keep food quality, standards, and the restaurant's reputation.
I heard the hype around this place's beef noodle soup so I had to try it out. There's parking onsite as the restaurant is located in a plaza. Service was normal. I got the Half Meat Half Tendon Beef Noodle Soup and was unfortunately not impressed with it as the meat that came with it was tough and the broth had a good helping of MSG in it. I could taste it plus I was super parched afterwards and had to chug a ton of water. The tendon was just okay, I won't probably come back for the beef noodle soup as there are other places that have better versions.
Stuck in traffic and super hungry. So glad I stopped by. Beef noodle broth was so rich and tasty. Just the thought triggers a Pavlovian response. Noodles had very nice texture and bounce. There are thin and thick noodles. I like 'em thick. Popcorn chicken was executed nicely. Crispy and tasty. Came here strictly for the food so there were minimal expectations on the environment and service. It was clean enough and the employees were pleasant enough. THE OG OF TAIWANESE BEEF NOODLE SOUP! I always order the half beef and half tendon noodle soup and spicy popcorn chicken. I don't live in this area anymore and I always crave beef noodle soup and no other places can fill the void. I've been calling every week to see if they were open during this pandemic and they finally opened back up (Thank God!!) with Covid safety measures - see pictures attached. The beef soup broth is super rich, flavorful and a little spicy. The tendon is a must get, it's soft and tender and the beef is just delicious. You can tell that the quality of beef broth is there by the soup and spices left behind when you finish the bowl. Their basil popcorn chicken is pretty good as well and ask for spicy! Overall, my favorite comfort meal that never disappoints! Their service is always attentive, very polite and friendly. Wowza! If you search up beef noodle places in the SGV, Corner Beef Noodle House is prominently placed on every single list you find. In the search for the best beef noodle in the galaxy, I had to see what the rumors dug up here first. Located in a dusty old plaza tucked away in El Monte, Corner Beef Noodle House, or let's just call it CBNH, is an unassuming little shop that packs a delectable punch. Around 5pm on a Sunday evening, there weren't many customers inside--although they did get more packed as the night went on. We quickly got seated and perused the menu. It was merely out of habit though because we knew, as a mother knows the backside of her baby ducklings, that we were getting that beef noodle, and more specifically, the half meat half tendon beef noodle because I dearly love tendon, as all my fans know. We also got some cold sides: the cucumber and the seaweed--as classic a duo as peanut butter and Nutella. Anyway, the star of the show came on the stage soon after the opening act popped out of the fridge. The pungent hearty smells of the beefy broth wafted into my nostrils before I could even blink. I grabbed the complimentary side of pickled veges the soup comes with and sprinkled some in. This was as essential as parm on pasta. And all this in preparation for the first bite that I had been waiting for since I googled best beef noodles in the SGV. Wait, do I drink the soup first, or just go straight to slurping up a noodle? Please submit your guesses in the comment section below. Alright, I'll stop beating around the mulberry bush. The broth was savory with just the right amount of sweetness. The pickled veges provided tiny bursts of contrast to round up the flavors. The meat was okay. Not sure if it was the freshest batch from the thickened texture. The tendon was a bit much. Any of the beef noodles is the specialty here, and the BEEF TENDON NOODLE reigns as the signature dish. The tendon feels soft and tender, a sign of slow-cooked in long hours! The large portions of the meat are well matched by a rich and hearty broth, suitable for small sips. Some might find it slightly more oily and spicy than acceptable, but that's all part of this style of comfort food. The WENZHOU LARGE WONTONS presents ten large dumplings with juicy and flavored meat. The vegetables on top compliments the meat digest from the extremely filling size and the portion of the wontons. This was made fresh to order for me, so remember to order this for when you sit down to skim the wait time! The MINCED PORK SOY PASTE NOODLE balances out the meal with a richer and more savory palate. Withdrawing from the spiciness of the other dishes, I relish the chewy and thick noodles that gladly did not hold an industrialized texture common to cheaper comfort stores. I did find this dish to be slightly salty, but the attentive service was quick to refill my water cup for refreshment. The English-speaking service is accommodating and doesn't rush you, and I was even surprised by the trendy EDM playing in the background. I often arrived shortly after rush hour to this unassuming noodle, and finding a free spot in the plaza parking was already rough and difficult. But this place is always well worth the wait! After having a not so great beef noodle soup at a restaurant, one Yelper messaged me about Corner Beef Noodle House's beef noodle soup. The reviews looked pretty good, so my friends and I gave it a try one weekend night when we were in search of a quick dinner location. Corner Beef Noodle House is located in a pretty big plaza on Peck Road. They're located in the same plaza as Mana Tea House - plenty of parking in the private lot, especially as there are always customers coming and going. Their menu isn't too extensive. They have a decent number of items that they specialize in - cold dishes, noodle soups, and rice dishes. While we wanted to share at first, we all ended up ordering a dish for ourselves, along with some cold appetizers to start. Cold appetizers: we tried the pickled cucumber and seaweed. Both were decent although the seaweed could have been a bit tangier. The pickled cucumber had the right amount of acidity and bite to it. For $3.75 each, I thought it was an okay price to pay for the amount and quality that we got. Taiwanese sausage: my friend ended up tacking on an order of Taiwanese sausage at the last minute, which we all thought was a mistake. The $6 pricetag was a hefty price to pay for the pretty sad looking dish. Normally the sausage dishes you see at Sinbala or even at night markets have bright red sausage slices with garlic bites. The sausage here looked unappetizing with its dull red color and lack of shine. It didn't taste too great either - would not recommend. Popcorn chicken rice: $7.75 for a good amount of popcorn chicken, a scoop of rice, vegetables, and some bamboo shoots whereas $5.75 only gives you the popcorn chicken. They didn't have any spicy powder/plum powder to give the chicken additional flavor, but we all thought the chicken was fried nicely. There was a good amount of meat and batter, and we could still taste the flavor of the chicken - not too oily or fat. The rice had some sauce drizzled over it, and the veggies and bamboo were tasty, too. Beef noodle soup $8.95 / half stew, half tendon noodle soup $9.95: I'd definitely recommend the half stew, half tendon if you're unsure of what to order. While the beef itself was tender and flavorful, I really liked the contrasting tendon pieces. And the thick-cut noodles - with all the different textures and flavors, I was a pretty big fan of this overall beef noodle dish. The soup flavor was bold and tasty and there was a good amount of beef and noodle. Workers were really friendly and quick to help us when we had questions. This place is cash-only, and they are also closed from 3-5 PM every day. Restaurant closes at 8:30, which is fairly early. tl;dr - Overall, a nice place to grab a quick bite to eat and get your money's worth. I really liked the beef noodle soup, although my friend really liked her popcorn chicken dish. Definitely will come back and order the soup again! read more

All we tried here was phenomenon and delicious! They do have one of the best Taiwanese Beef Stew Noodle with generous portion of beef. The noodle is very chewy, great broth, however, I would prefer to be a little more spicier. I also ordered the Signature XO Sauce Noodle, single portion of Popcorn Chicken & Fried Red Pork, and for dessert, their Hot Mochi, consist of Peanut & Black Sesame. Their beef noodle soup is decent. The meat could be more tender because it was tough but still tasty. There was plenty of meat to noodle ratio. The soup base was oily and not spicy when you have it but afterwards my stomach was hurting because of the mixed herbs. Maybe I'm sensitive to the herbs. This came with a Tablespoon of pickled vegetables. The udon noodles was really good, slippery and soft. I had bean curd as an appetizer and it was really good with the noodles and by itself. At first I was shocked they served it in a plastic container instead of a dish since I ate there, but then realized it's fine because I could take it to go. It's ah-mazing. Incredible. Probably the best beef stew broth I've had in California. Granted, there aren't that many of them now that Guppy House closed down. The broth is perfectly spiced, with a great balance of salty and savory. The broth isn't watered down and it tastes as if there was great care put into their soup. I'm going to ding them slightly because the beef is a little harder than I would like, but they do give you a lot of it. I had it from the boy's soup. I was able to get mine without the meat. Second: The noodles were perfect. We got the regular and it was chewy, thick, and tasted homemade. Delicious. If I weren't so full I would totally drink the entire broth. Big fan of Taiwanese beef noodles soup. I ordered the beef offal, which is the meat, tendon, and tripe. The meat was so tender and the tendon just melts in your mouth. I've never had tripe like this before and I enjoyed it so much I'll be ordering it wherever I go! I got the original noodles, which they said is their most popular. It was cooked to perfection and there was also a good amount. The soup was very flavorful, but for me I wish it would have been a little more spicy. This place is cash only, but they also take zelle and venmo! Overall, a great experience. I'll be back soon! read more

I love beef noodle soup, I can't believe it took me this long to try this spot! I'm usually in this plaza to get dim sum or Burmese food, but my friends suggested this spot since we were craving soup and it definitely did not disappoint! I ordered their popular beef noodle soup, my boyfriend got their popcorn chicken plate, and my friend got the fried monascus pork plate. The beef noodle soup was perfect, extremely flavorful with the perfect textured noodles. The popcorn chicken plate was also good, but not as good as the monascus pork. I would recommend getting the monascus pork instead, it was crispy and fatty, super satisfying. The servers were extremely nice and we overall had a great experience here. We will be back again the next time we are craving some noodle soup or monascus pork! read more
Surprisingly good beef noodle soup! I keep seeing this place but it is typically pretty empty during the day and have pretty limited business hours/days. I'd recommend the half-tendon half-beef noodle soup and an order of their fried red pork belly. I'll probably come here more often during the winter. They do seem to be cash-only.. We didn't ask, just paid cash. They seem to do a lot of restaurant and/or home bulk orders too as their fridges are stocked with huge bags of frozen prepped goods. read more

My sister found this place on yelp so we decided to go there for lunch on a Saturday in December. It is located in the shopping center with Ocean Bo restaurant. The parking lot was full but luckily found a space. We were warmly greeted by one of the owners ( I assume). The place has lots of tables and few booths. They also sell frozen soups and spicy stuff in jars to go. We ordered beef noodle soup, popcorn chicken, pork chop with rice. The soup came first and the broth was rich in flavor and darker in color than I am used to. The noodles are chewy with 3 thinly slices of meat, 3 Shanghai choy. We both drank and slurped the noodles. Best to wear a bib because the broth stained my clothes. Then popcorn chicken with fried plate pieces of basil arrived and it was fried crispy not oily. It was very tasty and it was seasoned very well. Lastly, pork chop with rice, mustard greens and cabbage arrived. The pork chop was fried just right not oily. The rice was tasty too probably cooked in broth instead of water. Both guys were friendly and very good on refills on water. FYI, cash only! read more
CASH ONLY!!! Me and my husband were craving some beef noodle soup & came across Corner Beef on yelp and decided to give it a try. There's honestly too much food options in the 626 so sometimes you just don't know what place is worth trying. We shared a braised beef noodle soup & an order of the popcorn chicken with rice. The beef noodle soup was so good! It had a very light Szechuan numbing zing/ citrusy flavor with a light spice. I can't say that it's the best beef noodle soup only because I don't know what would be considered the best, however what I can say is it satisfied my craving for it. Their side of pickled mustard greens complements the braised beef so well! The mustard greens tasted very similar to how my parents make it. I enjoyed the popcorn chicken however I wish I got this as an appetizer and not as a rice dish. It came with 2 veggie sides and it was good but not great. My husband enjoyed it but I wouldn't personally get it again. I also wish it came with some sort of sauce for the chicken except for sauce on the rice. I'd come back just for the beef noodle soup. It was so flavorful and it looked like they even sold their broth and sauces in store! I need to come back to try their other noodle dishes. First time here, coming with my local friend. I was told her that I really want to try traditional Taiwanese food, she bring me here on Tuesday. I ordered popcorn chicken to share with my friend, and ordered pork knuckle noodles soup, it is same taste when I am traveling in Taiwan. It is really good to have it in cold day. I love it!!!!! I am so happy I found this restaurant. Its not that often that a Taiwanese Beef noodle restaurant is able to impress me since I grew up eating this stuff. I am always very hesitant on the reviews for these type of places because there are only a few scattered around in the LA area but this place has one of the most legit owners/chef that whips up one of the meanest bowls of Beef Noodles I have ever had. If I could pick one dish that could really encompass the Taiwanese food culture Beef Noodles would be it. I would also highly recommend the XO sauce noodles which sounds and looks like a very simple dish but damn one taste and your taste buds will explode with flavor. The consistency of the noodles at this place is top notch. Make sure to leave room for dessert because this place also has the most legit Taiwanese shaved ice around. The key difference is the brown sugar water that they add to the ice which sounds really weird but its really the highlight of the whole dish. The shaved ice is massive and enough for 3-4 people with huge amounts off toppings spread through out. The service was awesome and I will definitely be coming back. Be careful getting in and out of the strip mall because the entrances are pretty much one way. read more

Slave girl wanted beef noodle soup for lunch and I remembered Corner Beef Noodle House being my favorite so far, why not pay a another trip? This time we ordered a pork chop, beef noodle soup, and half tendon half meat noodle soup. Drink wise we got passion fruit tea and winter melon tea. Personally I prefer winter melon tea more because it was less sweet, but both were refreshing when it was 90 some degrees out. The pork chop was very tasty and fried well, but the oil settled in after a bit and the pork chop got soggy. Moral of the story, don't wait on fried food. The beef noodle soups were still great. I don't know how and what but the flavors were out of control. The broth was not too spicy and still had that earthy taste, the meat and tendons were huge and tender. At the Corner Beef Noodle House, they really don't cheat on the meat! I really wanted to try their shaved ice since it was hot out, but I was so full from what we ordered. Maybe next time? read more
My coworker found this spot for lunch and we decided to try it out! I was very impressed. The food was so fresh and the portion size was a lot more than I expected. I had the fried pork chop which was very crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - just how you want it! The beef noodle soup was also yummy. How much is the frozen lion heads original flavor and a box of cold dish seaweed? When I called I was told lion head is about $23, but my total bill was $33, does that mean the small box of seaweed was $10? Or was that a mistake? I was in a rush...

If you're looking for spice no. If you're looking for for savory and flavor and better noodles then yes. Their noodles have a great texture. Plus alll the other Taiwanese dishes are a plus. Pro tip: Buy some of their XO sauce to go.
