Nice service, no fuss ambiance, decent food. Would definitely order from here for takeout. The best dish out of the 4 we got was the cold appetizer mixed plate. It had the most flavor and probably not something I would cook at home myself.

My boss said she missed Shanghainese food and was dying for some pork chop noodles so we ordered Ding's Garden for lunch. I don't even know if I've had Shanghainese food in recent times and ordered the pork chop fried rice with egg and mustard greens, along with a couple of noodles and the beef, pig ear, and bean curd combo. The food was pretty tasty, I liked the rice and the cold dish a lot, the triple combo had a great fragrant mala flavor. Pork chop had good flavor but parts of it looked overcooked and dry while others were partially soggy. Might be the style but not for me.

Service: Great overall. Food does take a bit more time like compared to other Asian establishments. You would be able to find a seating walking in. Steam Dumpling in Shanghai (8 dumplings): Freshly made and steamed. Beef flavored and I would say that its quite juicy. However, if you're on a budget and don't mind prepping at home I would order the dumplings to go. Green Onion Pancake: Thick batter pancake, it does get you full but there wasn't that much flavor. There was more pastry than green onion scallion.

Been coming to Dings for many years. First discovered it when they had a restaurant at Valley Blvd in San Gabriel. But unfortunately they closed down. I'm glad that they opened still close to where I live. Food is great and we love the waitress who always refills our tea, very friendly. But yeah, no complaints. I always order the Braised Beef Noodle soup since it's my go to meal. But lately I've been trying the other dishes (see photo). I recommend all the dishes.

SOOO GOOD! I absolutely loved it here! The food was delicious and freshly made. The service was excellent, and the portions were great. The restaurant was nice and quiet, really peaceful ambiance.

    傻瓜乾麵 - 點完覺得自己像傻瓜。什麼料都沒有要 ~$7.00 加了小費快十元,也太坑爹了!

Their signature cold dish - Jiao Huo Jiao Huo used to be my favorite. However, on a recent visit, it was very disappointing. Overall, food is too SALTY. If they can dilute it down a bit to reserve various tastes, it would be more preferable. The Shanghainese style pork with noodle soup is good though. Still recommend the fish if you come here.

Ding's Garden is one of the go to places in Arcadia for great food. They used to be only half the size and then they expanded out so now the restaurant is double the size. Prior it was a very small space and they took over the unit to the left of them so now it's considerably bigger. They have a very elaborate menu of different items. Some of the dishes we typically get are the the Ding's special cold plate, the pork chop rice, the idiot's dry noodle, the beef noodle soup, and the xiao long bao. There's lot of great items here and you pretty much can't go wrong. The wait staff was very helpful and courteous and they were very attentive and they were constantly filling our water cups. Overall, it was what I expected from here. Parking can be a little bit hit or miss but right outside the restaurant shouldn't be too bad but it can be a little hectic at times.

Beef noodle soup is top notch here. They serve the spicy variety (with numbing peppers). The noodles are perfectly cooked. I am also a big fan of their pork chop fried rice and rice cakes. The portions are huge. The waitress is very sweet and remembers repeat customers.

The beef roll was a disappointment this time. The meat was difficult to chew on and the steamed dumplings did not look juicy. The pork chop rice was decent, but it felt like all my food came out cold. Parking - in a lot

My family and I found this place as a last minute dinner option and we came here an hour before close. The staff informed us that the kitchen closes at 8:30, so we were able to order before then. What we ordered: Beef Roll in Shanghai Style - Crispy and flavorful wraps filled with beef and cilantro. Braised Beef Noodle Soup - The soup was just the right amount of spicy and the beef was soft and tender. Steam Dumpling in Shanghai Style - Came out piping hot and super soupy. Szechuan DanDan Dry Noodle - A must try! The noodles were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor from the peanut sauce. Our server was very kind, patient, and attentive throughout our dinner. Good portion sizes, prices, and everything we ordered was delicious.

Stumbled upon this place and what a great surprise! Food and service were excellent. Had the pork chop with fried rice, XLB, and beef noodle soup. Everything was delish. XLB was hot, fresh, and juicy. Fried pork chop was crispy and moist, and a nice balance against the other items we orders. The star was the beef noodle soup. Served in a very large bowl - huge portion. Had medium spice and it was perfect for us. Carried enough heat to make it exciting and enjoyable. Good flavor and tender beef. Service was great. Very friendly and regularly checked in on us. Dishes came out quickly. Really enjoyed this place and looking forward to coming back.

Beef noodle soup - really good and large portion $14.99!

Stopped by here for an unplanned dinner and I'm glad we did! Really good food, especially the beef noodle soup. Really good portions with veggies and tender meat. Medium spicy was just right (although may be too spicy for some). Also had the xiao long bao (really good when it's hot but be careful) and pork chop rice (good crisp and came with fried rice). Everything was tasty and the people serving us were attentive and friendly, especially one lady in particular. Prices were fair, too. It seems to be split in two - with a "to-go" area on the right and roomy enough dine in area on the left. The one thing I encourage them to do is maintain the restroom a little better. But I'll definitely be back.

Tried this place recently and left with mixed feelings overall…read more First off, the ambiance and decor are honestly probably the strongest part of the experience. The interior feels nice and lavish, and the dishes are served on these massive plates that really give off a luxury dining vibe. Servers were also nice for the most part. Food-wise, I ordered the yan du xian, xiao long bao, and a crab dish that came with the thin wraps usually used for duck. The xiao long bao was acceptable, though the flavor was definitely different from what I'm used to at other local spots like Din Tai Fung. Not bad, just different. The crab dish was actually pretty tasty and something I'd definitely order again. The yan du xian, unfortunately, was the weak point for me. I have this dish relatively often, so I had certain expectations going in. The soup had this strange stench to it that I can't really describe beyond just tasting "stinky." It may have been from the pork or bamboo shoots, though the pork itself tasted okay to me. Whatever it was, the flavor just felt off, and I'd probably skip that dish next time. Overall though, I still enjoyed the experience enough to maybe come back and try other dishes like the acorn fish and braised pork, but will need some time first to forget the yan du xian flavor...

I really like this place! For some reason, we have been here a couple times in the last couple months - one for a celebration where we were given one of the private rooms for a set menu banquet, and once just for a casual dinner. Both times were delicious. You can look at the pictures to see some of what we had, although now I'm realizing that they're only appetizers because presumably I was too busy eating after a while to take more pictures (a successful food influencer I am not, nor do I aspire to be). The only disappointing one was the 生煎包, only because 康康 does it SO much better...but 康康 does it so much better than really anyone else (Auntie Qiu's comes close). Their smoked fish dish is magic. Service is fine. I mean, typical of what you'd get at a place like this? There is easy parking in the lot.

We arrived around 6:15pm without reservations, and unfortunately, every table was taken. The wait ended up being ~15 minutes, which was not too bad. To eat, we ordered the Stewed Duck Soup Noodle ($13.99), Shanghai Style Sweet And Sour Spare Rib ($16.99), and the Crab Meat With Dry Noodle ($14.99). Each dish was satisfying. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the Stewed Duck Soup Noodle. The Crab Meat With Dry Noodle (one of my favorite dishes I tried in Shanghai) was admittedly a bit of a letdown. Overall, our experience here was positive one. Service was friendly, and the food came out surprisingly fast. The space itself is on the smaller side, but the ambiance is nice and intimate. I had called 20 minutes before and let them know what I wanted to order via dish name. Parking is available in the back lot but there's very limited spots available due to other businesses being really busy. The store is pretty small since they try putting as many tables as they can. When you walk in, you have to squeeze past the tables to walk to the counter to pick up your order. It felt really awkward since I had to walk in between two tables while they were eating. When I talked to the server, I asked her if she accepted Apple Pay and she said yes. I tapped my AMEX card and it went through but made a weird sound as if it denied. I asked her if she accepted AMEX afterwards and she said no but it already went through. Not sure what that meant... I signed my receipt, grabbed my food, said thank you and nothing back. Food: I got take-out so the food might vary compared to dining in. My family and I did try and eat it as fast as we could. It took 10 minutes to drive home and another 10 to actually eat the food. We ordered the home style chow mein, beef roll pancake, hand made pancake, and pan fried pork dumplings. Home style chow mein (7/10): When we opened the box, the steam was still pouring through. I thought that this one was decent. We did order this one to be cooked with less oil so it might've dried the noodles a little more when it was being cooked. There were lots of different veggies in this dish. I think the protein in here was pork, I'm not too sure. I thought that there was good amount of flavor! Beef Roll Pancake (7/10) : I love beef roll pancakes and will order one if a restaurant offers it. However, this one sort of fell flat for me. There was hardly any beef rolled into the pancake. It comes with 2 big rolls that are cut into 3 so in total you get 6 rolls. The skin was chewy and the sweetness from the hoisin sauce came through with each bite. Some people steer clear of this because of the cilantro but the flavor didn't really overpower the dish. Pan Fried Pork Dumplings (7/10): Of course you need to get dumplings at a dumpling house. I thought that this dish was a tad bit too oily. The dumpling skin was soft and the filling was packed. I do wish that the "pan fried" part was a little more crunchy but it could be soggy because I got to-go and couldn't eat it right away. It comes with 8 pieces which was plenty since we got other dishes. Hand made pancake (6/10): This one is so unique! If you can imagine it, it's like a circle with swirls and the swirls are pulled apart from each other. This dish is so easy to share with other people since you can just rip it apart in strands. I do wish that this one was a little more salted.
