I passed by this place so many times and finally decided to give it a try! (Perhaps my mistake?) My French toast wasn't like any French toast I had ever had before. It was an unusual texture for "toast." The topping was very gooey, and just plain weird. Worse, the bread was completely soggy, and not in the good soaked-in-flavor kind of way. I don't know if it was overdone or soaked for too long or what. The best part of the food was the tiny muffins given as a starter. Everything just came off as a bit messy in appearance. The berries still had stems in them, a decent amount. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but not something I've experienced at other breakfast places. I really don't know how people are giving 5 star reviews for such a middle of the road (at best) place. I am honestly baffled! Went here for lunch yesterday. Had the chicken, steamed vegetables and cucumber feta salad. There were 3 pieces of the chicken, which was well seasoned and tender. The steamed vege included asparagus and broccoli, which were fine. The cucumber salad was ok. Overall it's a good lunch. I hear their breakfast is good so I might return for that. read more

I went to Corner Cafe for Sunday brunch. We had a reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. The service was spotty at best and there were flies all around. Firstly from the outside looking in anyone including myself would think that this restaurant is pretty spacious, which is not the case. They have a pretty small dining area and the other half is a coffee/bar and bakery/pastries display. I agree with reviewers who are saying it is to pricey, but when I dine in Buckhead I already know things are going to be overpriced (sad but true). On that note, neither my boyfriend or I thought the food quality was up to parr in regards to its price, however my dish was good I substituted scrambled eggs on one of the benedict dishes- recommended. I don't recommend getting a side of bacon....I'm not sure if that was just considered a weird thing to ask for there but basically what I received was three slices of cold, over cooked, bacon pieces on a plate that came late after our food because our waiter forgot...and speaking of the staff....they aren't very happy...I wouldn't say they are rude but they definitely aren't the type to make you feel overly welcome...at least they weren't on the day we went. I do like that they give you little muffins and butter before your breakfast is served and the atmosphere is nice..kinda retro for my taste. 3stars because the food is decent but in comparison to all of the places that I've been to for breakfast this would be one of my last suggestions. read more

Was in the area after a photo shoot and brunched with my co workers. It was most ideal for a small group. The waiter we had was very friendly and kept up with our drinks. Corner cafe was super cute. We went here for a study lunch get together and the staff were extremely nice with us sitting in for about 2-3 hours. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup, it was very delicious! I also got a iced caramel macchiato, which was on the okay rating. I love that they have milk alternatives but in my opinion a little smaller in amount than I was expecting. They do not have dessert on the menu but does have a bakery in the cafe that you can take look at and tell your server what you would like and brought to your table. I did order the cinnamon bun and cinnamon muffins to take home. Cinnamon bun was a little different, it was made with croissant breading but was a little on the dryer side for our liking. Cinnamon muffins are perfect for the sweet tooths. Overall, service was great, lunch was great, and im glad we were allowed to sit for a long period of time to study as well. read more

Corner Cafe is a Buckhead institution. I think the right score is 3.5. I toggled back and forth between three and four stars. The food is very good but pricey. The Tuna "Banh Mi" sandwich and the corned beef hash are my go-to's for brunch. The Three Salad Platter is a pretty good choice as well. That gets you one scoop each of chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad. Surprisingly, the coffee isn't a strong spot. It is okay but not great. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while! Where do I begin???!! My friend and I have a lot of experience in the service industries and lord knows we've 'been there' where you are so busy that service falls a bit. But it took 10 or 15 minutes to be greeted by the server. Not even a "I'll be right with you" ? It shouldn't happen. I ordered the 15 or 16 dollar white chocolate french toast option while my friend had the "power breakfast". My french toast order was 3 triangles of toast that were the most boring, tired, dry, and underwhelming pieces ever. The food was cold by the time I got syrup too. My friends power breakfast, was an egg and cheese bagel with a couple pieces of fruit (she normally eats like a bird and was still hungry after). THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE PART: The server recovers a bit as we are eating (maintaining our drinks, clearing the plates at the appropriate time, etc.) , then drops the check. I kid you not, we sat for 20 MINUTES WITH OUR CARDS VISIBLY OUT ON THE CHECK PRESENTER!!! (It was our day off, and it was comical at this point) I was keeping close track on my watch. My friend and I decided to really turn our body language and we were staring down the entire staff at this point. It wasn't until I walked over and handed the server our bill that he gives me some excuse I didn't care to listen to. Very casual cafe atmosphere with a jam packed brunch scene. The service is pleasant but it never really feels like you are in a true full service restaurant both because of the way the restaurant is laid out and the casualness. There is a patio but it's small and doesn't have a great view. The popularity is frankly disproportional to the average food. I found the execution not dazzling, and the selection although many, was not varied or interesting. Also with the casual atmosphere, brunch prices are conspicuously high. Furthermore, for being right next to a bakery, pastry selection is disappointing. One positive is the Shrimp And Grits, with very fresh and plump shrimps, tasty sauce. But the Chicken Sausage dish was not good at all. They do have a nice Macchiato, I'll give you that. There are just many better options all over the city that are less expensive. David and I were shopping in the Buckhead area for our home and I suggested trying out Corner Cafe, since one of my favorite bloggers, the Blissful Glutton; recently reviewed them. I've always wondered what this place was like, since I have driven by it so many times. Upon entering the sliding glass doors, I was greeted with the delicious smells of fresh baked bread! On the look of the place, David thought they needed a major makeover since everything seemed so dated. The food was very good. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Benedict and David got the Country Chicken Sausage platter. The bacon and fried green tomato had a delectable crunch and I enjoyed the eggs. Definitely one of the best Benedict's I have ever had! David liked his chicken sausage and it came with a side of cooked apples and arugula salad. We both had hot tea, which was from Harney & Sons! Next time we go back, I definitely want to try one of their coffees...they were huge and some came with a dollop of whip cream! Mmmm... Overall we were both very satisfied with our meals and the service was very quick! Only negative was that the price was a bit on the high end for breakfast. I'm usually not a fan of the Buckhead Lifegroup Restaurants, but this one is a plus in my book! read more

For starters - there free mini muffins were ridiculously dry that you could not finish them... definitely not their best foot forward (and if I was them - I would improve these muffins as you serve them to everyone!). Then came the skirt steak eggs Benedict... and well dryness was the theme of the day. The eggs were overcooked and the hollandaise sauce was limp and lifeless. While staying in buckhead, I was looking for a cafe or diner to eat at, and the Corner Cafe popped up, so I decided to give it a try. The wait was not long, even on a Sunday morning, but I noticed right away that the name is misleading... it's not really a cafe or a diner -- it's very posh. While I'm waiting, there's a stream of Jaguars and Cadillacs parking, with their extremely well-dresses passengers disembarking. At first I was impressed -- I'll gladly pay for quality, if I'm getting a meal I won't forget. Well -- the waiters were stylish, the plates were stylish, the prices were stylishly... high, the servings were *extremely* small, the orange juice was almost $5 a glass, and the wait inbetween ordering and when the food was delivered was nearly 40 minutes. it was at this point that my opinion of the restaurant started to fall. The food was well made and delicious, but was in no way worth the wait and the price. Also of note: the interior of the restaurant was loud -- incredibly, incredibly, LOUD. My friends and I at the table either had to shout, or just give up and communicate non-verbally. Considering how you're seated -- nearly elbow to elbow with everyone else in the restaurant -- it's amazing how many people they manage to cram into the (not very big) restaurant, and the noise level shows. read more

The manager on this particular Saturday seemed like a bit of a tyrant. He was yelling at staff in the dining room but was very nice to customers. The yelling might explained why our waitress was rushing everywhere and never checked on us when or after the food was delivered. (ketchup would have been nice). The food runner was easy to flag down tho and we REALLY enjoyed our meals. So if your desire for great food trumps mediocre service then set your mind on relax and pin back yours ears. You can do much better for your brunch buck than Corner Cafe. This Buckhead Life spot is basically a place to be seen for the neighborhood's hoity-toity residents on Sunday morning. It's way overpriced, and the quality is not extraordinary. In fact, they served me a cup of Yoplait yogurt with my order of granola and yogurt. Seriously? At least serve it in a dish to disguise the fact you're serving me cheapo grocery store yogurt. If I get homemade granola, I expect some decent yogurt, too. The others in my party got Belgian waffles and an omelet. Both were good, but not amazing. I'll take a Ria's Bluebird or Java Jive over Corner Cafe any day. read more

I have been pretty sick with pneumonia and stuck in the house for days. I needed to get some fresh air so we went for breakfast at The Corner Cafe before an early showing of Persepolis at Phipps (what a great movie and they were robbed last night). I am normally an egg gal, but my tummy was craving something sweet and bread-y. So, I got the crme brle French toast, an individual pot of the French press coffee from their extensive coffee selection and some fresh grapefruit juice. I only made it through about 3/4 of one of the slices, but it was very good. There was nice pool of acidic fruit puree on the bottom of the plate that cut the sweetness of the bread nicely and the fruit was very fresh--even if it was not in season. read more

Shares the building with Buckhead Bread Company, the commercial bakery that supplies Buckhead Life Restaurants as well as other establishments in the Metro area. Come here for the gourmet sandwiches, they make an excellent chicken salad. Also the lettuce salads are nice here as well. The soups and entrees are hit or miss most times I've tried them. Prices are on the high side, but the quality is worth it. The to-go breads and cakes are incredible. read more

Generally the food here is very good, so we are a repeat customer. We had 3 odd/bad things happen yesterday, and I am not sure I can bring myself to come back. The first, and the most forgivable, is that they were out of my favorite menu item by 1:30 p.m. It is understandable on a Sunday brunch day, but that was not good. I am not sure what the planning process is there; it isn't as if there were rare ingredients on the sandwich. The second was that by the time our food arrived, the place was out of utensils with which to eat. Our waitress couldn't find any; the hostess couldn't find any; and we cruised around to other tables to see if places were set with no one yet sitting there, and we couldn't even steal any. This might have been recoverable except my wife's dish was served (and is supposed to be eaten) while hot. By the time we located utensils, it was not. I think the hostess was so excited that she had found us something to eat with (traditionally a given at a restaurant), that she never even thought to offer to warm up our food. The third was the order we were seated. When we came in, there was a 10-15 minute wait (which was fine), so we waited for our name to be called. I couldn't help but notice from my place in the back of the waiting area, by the bread, that other people (same size parties) were being seated, as the restaurant cleared a bit. I went up after 20 minutes and asked where we were on the list, and the hostess said "Oh, I will seat you now." I got the distinct feeling I would still be standing by the bread in the back of the waiting area, if I had not asked for a table. Now I get it that people are going to have their favorite customers that are just going to be treated better; if you are a regular, and I am not watching my spot, you get to jump me, and shame on me for not guarding my spot. But restaurants really ought to be more transparent, and just post a sign stating "we reserve the right to seat people in any order we like." Then, at least you know to stay near the front and guard your spot. Did I mention the bucket catching dripping eater near the front of the entrance? Charming, but that didn't even make my top 3 for the day. read more

Complete rip off with no apology or offer to bring me something else. I came home and had to eat lunch again since I was still hungry. Also, our waitress didn't show up from the time she took the order until she brought the check (someone else delivered the food)! No water refills or anything of the sort. I stopped in for breakfast on a weekday morning. I walk up to the hostess stand. The hostess stares at me. I stare at her. We both stare at one another. After a good 10 seconds of this dance, she asks me "can I help you?" somewhat coldly. Oh yes, I'm trying to sell AmWay, are you interested? Of course you can help me. You're a hostess. You are supposed to greet guests, tell them hello, smile, and ask them how you can be of assistance. I was thoroughly put off by the aloofness of the hostess. She seats me and I make my meal choice. For me, the toast, sausage patties, and two eggs. The meal was fine. The sausage was decently flavored. For $10, the meal was pretty underwhelming. Perhaps it was my mistake for not going with one of their more exotic plates. I might go back, but I would choose very carefully. The bakery items did look lovely. The cafe though, meh.
