Went here for lunch. It's a small strip mall space that appears to do a brisk lunch take out business. I ordered spicy chicken yakisoba with extra veggies. The noodles were fine but the chicken was not good. It was cut in large tough chunks that were too big for 1 bite but tough to cut. The shape and toughness were very off putting. The "extra" veggies I got seemed like what should have been there in the first place. There are lots of teriyaki places nearby and this is one place I'll skip in the future. read more

First time here at Joy Teriyaki. I'm not usually in this part of town, but I had an appointment in an adjacent business. Couldn't decide, so I asked the cashier for recommendations. She pointed out a lunch menu, which all looked delicious. Decided on the chicken and gyoza. Waited only a few minutes, then my meal was brought to my table. Nica and warm on a cold winter day. Consumed with vengeance as I haven't eaten all day. Flavor and texture is spot on, and the quantity was perfect. Probably a better place for meat eaters than vegetarians. Even my meat eating friends didn't feel amazing after this place but were not as sick as I was. Joy Teriyaki did not bring me joy. In fact, the egg whites on the tofu teriyaki were so undercooked, an hour later I was vomiting into a toilet and wishing I had only eaten the rice. The food poisoning struck fast and hard. It was very unpleasant. The teriyaki was okay at best the first time. Tasting it the second time was an even less enjoyable experience. I'm seeing tons of excellent reviews from other people on this place so I'm wondering if we went during an off day? I'm not brave enough to try it again. I initially was not happy with my order from here. I got the kung pao shrimp and it was not what I was expecting. The next time I gave it another chance and got spicy teriyaki. It was very on point. The spicy sauce is really good. Good teriyaki to me is not too sweet. This one was nicely balanced. Not over sauced. Nicely cooked chicken. If you are looking for your kung pao I wouldn't recommend this spot. But it makes sense that a place with "teriyaki" in the name makes good teriyaki. The reviews that say "worst kung p@0!!! :(", maybe get some teriyaki and see if it meets your expectations. read more

As far as express dining, Joy Teriyaki is the best I've been to. While waiting in line, two different people told us this was the best teriyaki they had ever had. They certainly weren't wrong! The service was top notch and the food was incredible. I got the chicken teriyaki meal which comes with a side salad, two servings of rice and a heaping pile of wonderfully seasoned chicken. I also appreciate they do not skimp on the teriyaki sauce. These portions are large so be prepared to share or have some left overs. We also got two egg rolls. Just ordered 4 chicken Teriyaki bowls from Joy Teriyaki in Vancouver WA. The cost was about twelve dollars a bowl. I have to say I feel a little ripped off. First off their chicken Teriyaki bowls contained no rice. I paid 2.50 extra for steamed vegetables which I thought were in addition to the chicken and the rice. Ate here 2 more times this week. Wanted to try the curry chicken but something happened on my take out order and I ended up with a teriyaki chicken bowl. No worries, it was darn good on my fishing trip. Went back to 2 days later and ordered the curry chicken and the asian lady remembered me and apologized for not getting the curry chicken last time and she gave me my order for free. Ichi needed some competition and in my opinion, there is a new sherif in town. 1/28/16 - Have eaten here about 12 times since it opened. Very consistent food even though they have had a lot of staff turnover. My wife really likes their chicken teri and she is more critical than I am. We usually split one order since the portion size is pretty big. It's a regular stop for me when I get my growler filled next door. Awesome to have 2 of my favorite places right next to each other. It gets crowded at lunch time but have never waited more than 15 minutes for take out. If there is a better $7 meal in the East Couve, I haven't found it. In my house we easily eat there once a week. My stepson works at QFC and probably eats there 4-5 times a week. Not any more. They aren't wearing masks. Not in the kitchen. Not at the counter. Not when they come from around the counter to hand you your food. When the I spoke to the owner, she told me "it's very hot in the kitchen"... Nope. That's it for us. I have ordered the chicken curry rice several times previously. It has always came with a salad, sauce with veggies in a side container and then a container of rice with chicken sliced on top. I order the same thing today. I got an order to go as usual and when I get home no salad and no chicken. I go back and said I didn't get a salad or the chicken. I am told no salad because there are vegetables in the curry and the chicken is in the sauce. I told them there was none. I then asked for my money back and said I couldn't because I had eaten. So, my Wife and I usually enjoy the food from the 192nd Avenue Joy Teriyaki. After a really long day today, we were looking forward to hearing their food. As my Wife left work over in Portland I called to place an order for pick up today (6/2/2020). Upon them answering I let them know I wanted to place the order for my Wife to pick up. I was asked to "please hold 1 minute", but was not actually placed on hold. I then sat and listened to them taking and ringing up sporadic orders for the 16+ minutes (went from annoying to curious if they would remember). Between orders I got to listen to loads of chopping along with other sounds of a kitchen. At 16 minutes my Wife had arrived and upon letting her know what was up, she just left to come home. I took the attached screen shot after the 16 minute mark as evidence that I'm not making this up. Then at just past 16 minutes and 30 seconds, they finally hung up on me. Very good food. I ordered a teriyaki tofu bowl that came with rice, veggie yakisoba and sesame balls. The teriyaki tofu bowl was tasty, fresh and a good portion size. The teriyaki sauce was very yum! The veggie yakisoba was hot and fresh, tasted brilliant. I liked the assortment of vegetables in the noodles. Finally, the sesame balls were not too sweet and came nice and warm, with red bean inside. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes and I don't have anything bad to say about this place. I'm glad I got to try it out today. The only bad experience was the fortune cookie. It tasted off. Not only is this teriyaki spot conveniently close, it's also very tasty. The staff is always quick to greet you when you walk in and the food is prepped quickly. The food is tasty and relatively inexpensive. I'll usually spend 10 for a plate of teriyaki, including the top. They don't stand out in a bad or a good way from the multitude of other teriyaki spots around town, but the service is what I keep coming back for. read more

Discovered this place after my bf and I moved to Camas. What I love is the most is the staff is actually nice unlike the teriyaki place next to the housr we used to live. And of course their food is delicious! What really impressed me about this place as I called when night not knowing they were about to close in 2 minutes, and ordered a huge to go order. When I asked what time they close she said well technically here in a little bit but don't worry about it, and they held our food over 20 minutes past closing and was super nice and was super nice when went there to pick it up! The place is reasonably clean though it could be better, the men's restroom sink looks like it's got soot on it, which is why it's 3 stars.
