I had heard good things about The Corner Store before I arrived in Chatham, and it exceeded all expectations! Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly and happy staff--a rarity these days anywhere. We ordered burritos from an easy, DIY menu made for picky eaters like myself. Fillings and fixings looked fresh and tasted fantastic. A triple chocolate mini whoopie pie was a perfect add on. ive been here many times. There is always a line and its tough to find a spot to park and that should tell you something ! The panninis and burritos are top quality and made to order in front of you. The line is actually quite pleasant due to a dozen cheeful girls that are chatting with you as they make your lunch order. The Corner Store is a wonderful institution. I remember going there with my grandfather as a child in the 60s/70s, and it was a real corner store. The evolution into a wonderful burrito bar is spectacular. The food and tradition couldn't be better. The only problem is parking and space. This is my go-to spot when I'm craving a sandwich for lunch. The grilled chicken panini is absolutely amazing especially when they grill the bread for an extra couple seconds. The staff is always friendly & accommodating, and despite the long lines, manage to send out the food in timely/reasonable manner. I used to LOVE the sandwiches at the corner store. The Roast Turkey and the Black Forest ham were the best sandwiches on the menu. It was great because you could stop there and get them any time of day and you still can. I haven't Been there in a while because I mostly work upper cape and Plymouth area. I have been there twice this week for my two favorite sandwiches and something is wrong. Tuesday I stopped in for one of my favorites the roast turkey and while the ingredients hadn't changed the bread was not the same. It was missing the beloved buttery crunch and recessed griddle marks that added the distinctive taste that elevated this sandwich above all others. I thought maybe because the sandwich was wrapped up for 10 or 15 minutes before I ate it the steam affected it somewhat. Friday when I returned for my other favorite the Black Forest ham ( it was wrapped up for the same amount of time ) was terrible. Although the ingredients hadn't changed the bread was barely grilled, really soft and almost inedible. Prior to ordering this sandwich while I was paying I took a look behind where the magic used to happen and noticed that they changed to a different grill. I didn't catch the brand but it was not the same as it once was. PLEASE go out to the dumpster and dig out those old grills they were once what set your sandwiches apart from anyone else. I'm not saying that I won't go here anymore but I will be getting burritos from now on when I do go. I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but what a shame. read more

OMG! The Corner store deserves more than 5 stars. We vacation at the Cape every year for two week and in those two weeks we go to the corner store almost every day. The sandwiches, burritos, and baked goods are out of this world. The staff is always friendly, up beat and happy to help. Wow, all I heard was how great this place is, Ryan Reynolds flies his jet into Chatham just to go to this place, yada yada yada. I live mid-Cape so I always wanted to try it then finally did recently and all I can say is wow. If you like paying $13+ for a tasteless burrito then be my guest. I am assuming it was so expensive because I asked for sour cream and the dummy put half a pint on there, probably because they do charge you for it so they figure if we're gonna charge me give me a ton of it. Eeehhhh wrong, I like a small dollop of sour cream for a fresh cooling component, this was a ridiculous amount and overtook the whole burrito it was like all I tasted, and the cost on a dollop of sour cream is a few cents so charging people is so insulting. College kids working there are rude and incompetent, am I supposed to jump in the air because they make whoopie pies? Who gives a frappe? It's all sugar. What the hell is wrong with people? What a joke, never listen to yuppies wannabe hipsters and most of all millennials when it comes to food, they are all clueless. Burritos are excellent, and so are the paninis. It's more expensive than the "$" rating suggests, but definitely worth it. The last time I went I had the buffalo chicken burrito and it was fantastic. Definitely get a carrot cake whoopie pie as well. So good! read more

I really like this place. I have only had the burritos so I cannot judge the sandwiches. On the last visit, I had a burrito with ground sirloin, black beans and veggies. It's a little pricey, but only a buck more than going to Chilpotle and so much better and it it's really different from a Mexican place. Staff is really friendly. They are grilling all the stuff in the back kitchen while you are picking out your ingredients. Smells nice. Nice place. I don't understand the few negative reviews. They are not trying to be "Mexican Food". We're not in California or Texas here. Just fresh, nice food with nice service and frankly, that is hard to find on Cape Cod. I know. I live here. I was brought here by an elderly friend who doesn't like to cook, and some days eats at this joint for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff all knew him and gave him a warm welcome. It was as good as he promised. As you walk in, you get in one line for sandwiches, or another for burritos. I got a burrito. The counter girl makes it for you from a huge assortment of available ingredients that you point to, as you move down the line to the cashier... the young girl was charming and perky and pleasant... really a perfect example of customer service, restoring my faith in America's youth. I tried the blackened tilapia special in my burrito and it was "ono" (delicious in Hawaiian). It was a little stressful having to create my own original burrito combination on the spot while people waited behind me in line, so I tried to get the girl to just make one up for me free-style, but she cheerfully and politely resisted, gave me some helpful suggestions, and talked me safely through the process. And my burrito turned out delicious. Not that it was cheap.. I think it was about $8... but it was fresh and healthy tasting with lots of veggies and I didn't begrudge them the money, because they seemed to be doing everything right. The place was spotless, the owners were working the registers and were also warm and friendly, and the whole place had a great up-beat positive energy. I did have major stomach pains BEFORE I ate my burrito, but I was really glad it happened before we ate, because of course I would have totally blamed the burrito if the timing had been a little different. read more
