I personally love the hushpuppies that come out before the meal, sorta like a Mexican restaurant with tortilla chips. The portion sizes are also huge. My mom and I split a four-item combo, and we even had leftovers to take home. The salt and pepper catfish is another great item off the menu. The price is also reasonable, especially if you split a combo with a friend. Between the massive portion and the complimentary hushpuppies, you will not be hungry when you leave this establishment that has been a staple in the Rural Hall area for over two decades! The only issue I had this time was that the fried scallops I ordered were a little overdone and tough, but other than that, it was a great experience, like always! This is the first time we've eaten here. The service is excellent, drink order was taken when we sat down. The waitress was very attentive and took our food order quickly and our food came out quickly. None of the fried seafood was greasy, my husband said that the clam strips the best he had ever had. The hushpuppies are excellent and they bring you a plate of them while you wait for your food. There are two things we though could be better. The seafood batter is a little bland, it could have used a little salt and some additional spices. The tarter sauce is also bland and very watery, next time I'll bring my own. The ambiance it what you would expect from this type of restaurant but it is very clean and nicely decorated, and not noisy. We will definitely go back. read more

I've never seen the line to wait as long as tonight. We called in our order to pickup and waited until after the time we were told to be there and we still had to wait at least another half hour longer. Wouldn't have been so bad except people were walking in off the street, placing their orders and leaving with food in hand before most of us got our orders that were called in. This evening myself and 3 others decided to eat some good seafood that is harvested in the United States. Yes that right. Tonight i ate Cod Fish and i wish i had taken my phone withe me to take a picture of this great plate of food. The service was beyond great, it was superb. The nice waiter we had was amazing. She even food me a bottle of Malt Vinegar. That was one jester that made my evening. I love the popcorn shrimp platter here! The prices are very reasonable and the service is fairly fast. Customer service is okay but the servers can be rude and rush you sometimes whenever they're going through a rush. I recommend takeout! read more

First visit here was for my Aunt and Uncle's 50th wedding anniversary...great seafood. Passing through from Greensboro back to Virginia, I stopped again. Just as great as the first time...even with covid restrictions. Three choice combination platter....jumbo shrimp, scallops and clam strips w/fries. Great hushpuppies!!! I recently moved to this area & several local residents had recommended this restaurant. Anticipating great seafood, I was terribly disappointed. Six of my family went here as a birthday celebration, each ordering something different. All of the servings were over fried & tasteless. Wait staff barely spoke & disappeared once the food was served. When we complained at checkout, we were told there was a large party "in the back" which affected our service. really???
