When the bank did not approve the loan, I returned the vehicle on February 4, 2026 as instructed. I was told my down payment would be refunded minus the mileage I used. However, the dealership claimed I drove over 1,000 miles and deducted that amount from my refund. I have timestamped photo evidence showing the odometer reading 74,182 miles at the time I left the dealership. When I returned the vehicle, it showed only about 300 miles driven. The documentation the dealership provided to justify their numbers was a state inspection dated December 27, 2025. I didn't even step foot on their lot to look at vehicles until January 19th. They also deducted a $150 detailing fee even though the vehicle was not clean when I picked it up and had liquid leaking inside the car. I was told to return to the dealership for a detailing but it never happened before returning the vehicle. After weeks of trying to resolve this directly, the dealership said they mailed my refund check. When it arrived, the check had the wrong name, was misspelled, and was not dated, so the bank refused to accept it. I am still attempting to resolve this situation and have filed a formal complaint with the BBB. I recommend that anyone doing business here take photos of the odometer and keep copies of all paperwork.

When we returned, I asked him for a list of that vehicle in the trim level I want that are on the way to the dealership. He said he'd get that, then disappeared inside the building while we waited outside... and waited... and waited. We went back inside and saw him walking around, again on his phone. At that point, we decided to leave. Another thing worth mentioning: he seemed fixated on selling us a loaner, even though we made it clear we didn't want one. No customer wants to feel invisible and unheard. While this dealership is within 10 miles of our home and we've bought one vehicle there, you can be sure we never will again. I took it to the repair shop first to get the code pulled and then called and talked to Steve at Greg Chapman. He told me to bring it in and they were able to fix the two issues that pulled up right away. Not only this, but they noticed the navigation system was wired in a way that would drain my battery, so they re-wired it to prevent that from happening again. At no point was I pressured nor harassed and all my questions were always answered with honesty which goes a long way. Nobody wants to come to a dealership to argue with sales reps when they are spending their hard earned money. Customers want to be treated with dignity and respect, and not like chumps who are bidding at an auction for the approval of the dealership. For this reason, I specifically recommend Covert dealership on 183 when looking to buy a new Cadillac in Austin, Texas. I strongly suggest avoiding Covert Bee Cave because they lack transparency and have ridiculous add ons. That dealership will tell you what you want to hear while lying to your face at the same time. So if you want the same great service that I received ask for Derek McNabb or David Bislar these are the only two gentleman I will ever do business with simply because I was told by other sales people at Covert 183 I would never get a deal on any Escalade ever while out in the parking lot just browsing without even talking with their manager. Some sales people think being withholding with discounts stern on price and tuff on customers is a good sales tactic for some reason then get looked over because nobody wants to deal with that kind of person if they decide to return to buy. Don't give up or give in keep looking ask to talk to someone else till you find someone willing to see the blessing of having a potential sale. I like a sales rep who is upfront isn't afraid of going the extra mile and helping me get a great deal despite what they make on commission. That's the type of person who will go far because they aren't lying and making up excuses the first 5 min of negotiations and aren't afraid of asking question . I've always been told the worst you can hear is no and it's true and you can always move on. Never be attached to a vehicle so much that you give into something uncomfortable be flexible it will go a long way. Anyways I'm glad and blessed to have gotten the help I did.
