After a long, hot day at the pumpkin patch, we decided to stop by Corvette Diner for some milkshakes . I hadn't been here since 2017, and it was my sister-in-law's first time plus my two little ones' first visit too! At first, we were planning to just order to go, but our amazing server MARIE S. welcomed us with such kindness and offered us a booth. Since my 4-year-old was absolutely in love with all the spooky Halloween decorations , we decided to stay and I'm so glad we did because we had a blast! My 4-year-old chose the Unicorn milkshake, and my 2-year-old got the Birthday milkshake. Yes, they were way too big for them, but they were so pretty that the kids didn't even want to eat them at first . They ended up sipping the little extra that came in a cup on the side, while I captured tons of photos and videos of their faces lighting up with joy. We pass by this diner on our way to liberty station public market all the time. Finally, we decided to walk in and give it a try. This inside is absolutely massive. They take theming to an entirely different level. Would try to get here early as there may be a wait. However, the service here is very friendly and prompt. Ordered a pasta dish and a meatloaf. We met my parents for a couple of days in San Diego. (They are from Costa Mesa we came in from Las Vegas) we are always trying to find something different and "car" related for my dad. When I suggested this and sent my mom the link she agreed or was great. I'll start by saying for us it was a one and done kind of experience but I'm glad we went, we definitely had a good time! My grandson is a year and a half old and he was mesmerized by the music and dancing servers and he enjoyed walking around the arcade. The live DJ was super fun. A very unique experience! Fun for our entire family, especially the two toddlers. Bringing toddlers to a restaurant can feel overwhelming but this is just the place for all the fun (and chaos). We noticed several families celebrating birthdays while we enjoyed dinner, the entire family breaks out in song bringing the birthday person a gigantic treat of some sort (even saw a mountain of cotton candy!) Food was good, typical diner food, nothing to brag about. But the atmosphere and experience was absolutely worth the visit! "Big Biff" was our server and he was incredible! We went for my grandsons 1st birthday. Were not from SD so we didnt know what to expect. It was disappointing. Parking was herendous. We couldnt park anywhere near the restaurant. Service was not n good. The waitresses didn't seem to care much. Why would they when their tip is guaranteed. We got our birthday sundae after the check was paid for, and we were ready to go. Food was diner food. My friend who came with us was up all night with an upset stomach. Ambiance was a little much. Too many different things going on in different areas. This place had such fun ambiance. We sat in a room full of neon and black lights but the music was so loud I could hardly hear my waiter. Our waiter Mac was phenomenal but it did take a while for the food to come out even at 8pm. I had the Hawaii 5-0 and it was amazing!! The PBBC shake and it was fantastic!!! My small complaint was the onion rings. I am not a fan of fish and the onion rings tasted like it was in the same fryer as the fish. We've been here quite a few times already but we haven't been back for a while. We arrived on a Friday evening around 5pm. It was already busy but luckily we were seated right away. Every room in the restaurant has a specific theme which is super cool. We sat in the neon room this time. Lots of the workers get into character which is always so fun. Our waiter for the evening was very kind. He was attentive, filled our waters constantly, and checked on us several times during our meals. The food is always 10/10! I ordered the Dee Dee hamburger well-done with onion rings. Cooked perfectly! I must say, the prices have sky-rocketed through the years. I was going to tip the sever by all means however when you're just asking and asking about leaving something that's a service when it doesn't even want you to come back anymore . Located in Liberty Station in Point Loma is the Corvette Diner. It's a popular family friendly diner to go to for a 1950's style food and fun. Plenty of free parking in the lot close by. There's a actual sporty vintage cool Corvette in the main entrance to admire and take photos. Upon entry, the hall to the left is an arcade with many games for entertainment to keep kids amused and busy. The staff try to make your dining experience fun, they will sing and dance and crack jokes to amuse you. On weekends, this place is a madhouse, with lots of kids having some sort of birthday party celebration...so service tends to slow down and hard to flag anyone for help to order food, drink or get the check by o pay and leave. To avoid the crazy madness of the crowds, I suggest coming during weekdays, it's less crowded with less kids. The place is decorated with lots of 1950's memorabilia, along with neon lights and rock and roll classic music. Although the 1950's was before my time of inception, I read and seen so much fascinating history, facts and fun factoids to appreciate that time. The diner offers typical diner foods: burgers, fries, drinks, shakes and desserts. The later is what I've only been here for. I've tried the milk shakes and the brownie hot fudge sundae...both were yummy and cool. I really wanted to love this place, especially since by all accounts it was everything that I love put together. However, there were issues which prevented me from fully enjoying my visit. The menu is very fun, and matches all of the themes they have going on. Seating was comfortable and the dining area was lit just well enough to have a faux smoky atmosphere. The BLAST itself was a good sandwich, but the bread served was too much to truly enjoy it. I do wish the bread sizes were smaller as it seemed to take away from overall enjoying the meal. The other sandwich, which was a California, was very tasty and I would not change it aside from being provided with a cutting knife since it too is very large. The kids size shakes at the end were perfect, and I recommend them due to both the pricing and the portion sizes used. Major issues I experienced were concerning the staff, the food, and the dining experience. Drink refills seemed to be ignored, as the waitress seemed to have too much responsibility that evening to properly help out. On top of that we were almost never checked on during the meal and so could not help our next issue, which was the quality of the side salads provided with each meal. The lettuce in each was old and rusty, which basically killed any desire we had to eat them so we did not. Also, the dining experience was put off by the way this place handles birthdays. I actually had gone here for my birthday dinner, but in the evening, during all of their events I had decided against letting any of the staff know it was my birthday since the way that the birthday celebration is done by them is painful to hear, to the point where I would never ever consider going here on my birthday. Parking is not difficult due to its location in Liberty Station. ***ARCADE REVIEW*** This place is scammy and here's why: My kid spent weeks earning enough tickets to get a lava lamp. He goes to cash out his 2600 tickets. "We don't have that item". Us: Okay... we have 6800 tickets if we combine our cards. How about the next one up for 4000 something tickets? "We don't have that either". Us: Wait. What? How are you advertising merchandise that you can't actually win? "Yeah. I know. I keep telling them that. They don't care. We only have the 8,000 ticket item." Us: Can we talk to the manager? Manager comes over. The conversation went like this... Us: Our kid was super pumped on getting this lava lamp and you don't have it. Can we take the display? Response: "No." Us: ... but you can just order more? You have more coming? Why is it on if it can't be won? That's false advertising. We have 6800 tickets. Can you give us the 8,000 prize. Response: "No. They're really strict about you having the right amount of tickets for the prizes." It's not about the lava lamp. We can just buy a lava lamp. The good: This place was so much fun. I took my 1 and 3 year old here and we all had a blast. I loved how the waiters are in character and play sassy old timey people. There are different rooms with different themes. We were seated in the black light room. I loved how many milk shake options there were. I got mint and enjoyed it a lot. One order is more than a cup because they give you the extra from the milkshake metal shaker. I ordered a salad and thought it was saucy and flavorful. We tried the loaded potatoes as well. My toddler enjoyed the arcade area. You can get a lot of prizes with few tickets compared to other arcade places. The ball claw machine was easy to win too. Parking was easy. The bad: I'm unsure why but the trailer car dining room area had no guests in it. It's a super cool space! It can get really loud so it's hard to converse with your own table. The interesting: It was super busy here even though we came on a Monday evening. I thought there'd be fewer kids but there were tons of kids birthdays still in the evening here. After a walk on the Liberty Station jogging path, we decided to come here for a quick bite for brunch/lunch. I've been here before, but this is the first time I'm leaving a review. We were seated promptly in a booth next to the DJ station/booth and right next to a kitchen door. The seat was tucked away so we couldn't really see much of the festivities (or the restaurant's fun decor for that matter) and we were definitely accosted by a lot of noise, flashing lights, etc.. The festivities were related to a birthday happening nearby and the dance/song that the servers do for the birthday person. It's definitely a fun place to go if you are celebrating. We were just a few middle-aged folks grateful for waking up to see another day. Upon being seated, we waited for our server to come over. After about 7 minutes, she came over and said that she'd be right back after she sang & danced with everyone. About five minutes later, after the rousing birthday song and many flurries of pom poms,she came back and took our (pretty basic) order. I got a side Caesar, a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and a kid size milkshake (vanilla with choc syrup). The rest of my group ordered a side Caesar (he wasn't that hungry) and the third person got a California Dreamin' Sandwich (grilled natural chicken breast, guacamole, green chilies, lettuce, tomato, onion, pepper jack cheese & natural cut fries (gf*)). The waters are dropped off right after we ordered and my delightful milkshake followed shortly afterward. One sip (slurp) and I was so happy that I am an adult who can enjoy ice cream before my meal! It was the best part of my meal!! The soup was mostly broth with a few pieces of pulled chicken, few kernels of corn, and lots of colorful tortilla strips. It was tasty enough and the broth had good flavor. The Caesar salads arrived without dressing, and they used a softer green leaf lettuce instead of Romaine. Oh well. Our server quickly brought the dressing and we ate the salads without complaint. We need our veggies, amirite? The verdict on the chicken sandwich was that it was fine, and the fries I tasted were crisp and did the job. Overall, the food we ordered was fine. The place was busy with birthdays and cheering kids. There was also a balloon artist making balloon animals for kids and a photographer who was offering to take photos of each group. We opted out. Lol... I mentioned the noise because one of the people I was with is light & noise sensitive & this place was a bit much for him. So if you have anyone in your family who has a similar situation, please be advised. I think that Corvette Diner has a kitschy and fun retro ambiance. It was my group's first time visiting today and I definitely will be coming back. There was a lot going on for visuals and sounds, and the decoration was awesome. Felt like taking a step back in time so that was really fun. There were a lot of birthdays going on and a handful of kids singing and dancing along with the throwback, classic music. Even so, it wasn't chaotic, which was great. Service was fantastic and our server was super attentive and even went out of her way to help us take photos. Big round of applause for the service here. The ambiance and decor is great. The music is loud and the area we sat in was dim but there were neon lights. The servers danced at once point but honestly looked annoyed. There was a guy going around making air balloon animals and things for tips. It was cool and a nice touch. This was very cool birthday experience that both of my kids enjoyed although I will say it was sensory overload. Super loud, hard to hear and very visually stimulating. It was so fun to see the servers dance and sing, our server really put on a show! The arcade in the back and games are very reasonable prices and my kids both loved the prizes they earned with their tickets. Much nicer than you can get at Dave and Busters for less tickets - highlights were Zoltar and the claw games. We came here after my daughter's graduation on 6/3 for nostalgic purposes but it just felt different this time. I don't suggest this place if you're sensitive to noise but I'm not so I like the environment for the most part. Staff was nice and did their job. I think it's cute they still have dance breaks and it was refreshing to see the men doing it. I've only seen the women in the past. We always end up in the blacklight room which is fun but it gets too hot. We were all uncomfortable by the time we were done. Other rooms felt much cooler though. The biggest issue for me is the quality of food. It's just not good. You're paying for the decor and environment, not good food. For us, the sliders were the worst. Dry and flavorless so I took them home to my dogs. The chicken pasta was the favorite. I'm a huge potato skins fan but they were too thick. The food was just not it. The other thing was that they charge an automatic 20% tip on parties of 6 or more I assume since I never saw the actual signage or note on the menu but we had 7 people. I was OK with that because thats my minimum usually and it seems to be the standard now, but then they also added a 5% fee for rising costs. There is a note in front stating you can get it taken off your bill by the manager if you request to do so. I don't think that's quite fair for people who may be shy or may not feel comfortable bringing it up for whatever reason and it's hard to believe that the company is not capitalizing on that. I was so stressed from the day that I just left it alone. But to add almost 15 dollars to the table on top of the 20% tip for mediocre (at best) food didn't sit right but I sucked it up since service was pretty good (in my opinion since my mom and friend did not like our waiter's disposition but I didn't see a problem). I'm sure we'll go back when we miss it in a few years but no rush. If my kids were younger, I would still come back for parties or a fun dinner with family. read more

We dined here on 7/22/25 to celebrate our 1st date anniversary of 37 years. I first took my wife to the original Corvette Diner in Hillcrest in '88 so we decided to re-live the moment. It was Tuesday evening around 6pm when we arrived and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. We were given a table in the back right area just past the large dark neon lit dining room area packed with families. It was a little more chill in the brightly lit dining area where we were seated. We ended up splitting a Rory Burger (hamburger with bacon and peanut butter) served with onion rings, and a side salad with 1000 island dressing. We also shared a bottle of still acqua panna still water. Most servers are usually a lot lively, loud, talkative, funny, and over the top. Not our server, maybe the management doesn't look for that personality when hiring their staff these days anymore. Our server was plain, monotonous, and just meh to be honest. We asked if they had sparkling water (i.e. Pelligrino) and he told us they did but it was Acqua Panna instead, and upon receiving it at the table, it was still water and not sparkling as ordered. Our server rarely checked on us, and honestly didn't see him until our check came. Thankfully our burger, onion rings & salad were delicious because the service was a little disappointing.
