I'm sitting at the table facing towards the door. When I came in I was greeted with a warm hello from the sweet lady running the counter who provided me with this amazing order . As I've been eating this order I've seen more and more people rotate through the door and she's helped every one of them to fill the space with their orders. The jerk chicken pita is one of the best food items anywhere in Milwaukee. You've got to come try it if you've never had one, simple and amazingly delicious. Fries were also a good complement to the generously portioned chicken stuffed pita. First time at Cosmos, and let's just say--this place gyro'd straight into our hearts! We ordered the chicken and lamb plates separately (because why share when both are THAT good?). Each plate was loaded with tender, flavorful meat, warm pita, and all the fixings. You could tell it was made fresh--like the kitchen heard we were coming and rolled out the red carpet... in tzatziki. The Greek fries? Chef's kiss. Crispy, lemony, and buried under a glorious feta avalanche. We may or may not have fought over the last few. Washed it all down with the Greek lemonade--bright, tangy, and refreshing enough to make us forget we were still in Wisconsin. They've been in business 16 years, and it shows. Date of visit: April 30, 2025 The latest in our monthly workday lunch outings, this time around it was Cosmos Cafe on North Ave in Tosa. Despite the many times I've driven down this street, I never noticed the cafe, set back from the street behind its parking lot, which sets it apart from the other buildings on this stretch. The cafe itself is very unassuming as well, and not very big, so don't bring a large group here unless it's nice out and you can dine al fresco. Menu here is a combination of old school chalkboard and a laminated (slightly out of date) card, but the server/cashier is super friendly and will offer up any suggestions you might want or need and he'll also bring the food over to you, which I appreciated (I really hate the places that do a cattle call when the food's up) as well. I went with the fish sandwich. For the size and that nothing comes with it (besides some random veggies I didn't ask for or want), the price it was a bit expensive though the sandwich was pretty good. Not quite Kopp's, but it was tasty and the tartar sauce that came with it was great for dipping. This seems like the kind of place that would do a really good gyro so I will definitely come back some day and give that a whirl as well. read more

Certainly a local Wauwatosa favorite, especially since all gyros places buy their meat from the same Chicago supplier and this place on North Ave. is central and close. They usually have some Greek specials for the day which you would have to read on the chart when you come. Always friendly, generous portions, reasonable prices. In the absence of any real or authentic full Greek restaurants in Milwaukee, this is a good option for Greek basics. Beer and wine available. read more

My recent lunch visit here has definitely made me a fan. It's a small space with limited seating and appears to do a thriving carryout business. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I had the Jerk Chicken Gyro and my friend had the Gyro Platter. I must say the fries with his platter were the best I've had in awhile. Crunchy and seasoned on the outside and soft inside. My Jerk Chicken Gyro sealed the deal for me however. The chicken was grilled to perfection with just the right amount of spice. My family and I were looking for a place that offered a Friday fish fry and a little more. We found it. My wife and son had the fish fry that looked amazing. Not over breaded, not greasy, it was perfect. My son had fries and loved them, my wife had a baked potato. I had the falafel pita and hummus and pita. Excellent choice. Wonderful Greek Cafe located in Tosa. Ordered the pita and hummus as an appetizer and loved how fresh the hummus was. Will definitely be back to get some hummus to go to have at home. Their falafel pita was delicious, and the amount of meat that was on their Mediterranean salad was more than generous, enough for leftovers. I want to start off by saying the lady who runs this place is a gem. We have only been once and she really stood out to me. She def cares about her customers and food and people! We have been wanting to come here and we finally got the chance. It's small in the inside but homey! There's a family love energy and it's super inviting. Menu was hard to read so they have a paper one. A kids corner with stuff to entertain your kids (awesome) is tucked away in the small space. I got a plate and my husband got a jerk gyro I believe. This is our Greek go to spot in our neck of the woods in Tosa. It's an awesome hole in the wall joint run by a super friendly, hard-working family. The star of the show is no doubt the jerk chicken pita - it's massive and loaded with flavor. Not greasy or spicy, it's truly out of this world. It comes with amazing fries that are always hot, fresh and crispy. I was able to try the fish fry, it was just OK though. I have not tried any of their gyros yet, and it's only because that jerk chicken pita is so darn good it's hard to pass it up when I visit. We usually take our food to go because it is a tiny restaurant with only a few tables, so it can be difficult to dine in during the busy lunch rush. Pro tip: take your food to go and head across the street to Gathering Place Brewery and have yourself a pint on their fabulous back patio while you nosh on your killer pita! read more

My dad and I recently tried carry outs from Cosmos on the recommendation of an Elite friend. He tried the jerk chicken sandwich, which he said was very good. I thought it was a weird offering from a Mediterranean restaurant, but if it works, it works. I had a falafel sandwich. The menu has some vegetarian options, but it's not a deep menu by any means. The falafel was good. No complaints. We also shared the Greek fries, herbed fries with plenty of salty feta crumbles. They were quite good and the order was large. I'm anxious to try more items here, but some things, like saganaki, that speak to me are best eaten on site. I will return. Prices are reasonable as well. read more
