So much for a light snack. My wife tried the Gobernador tacos. Shrimp cooked with poblano pepper and grilled cheese. Perfect crunch and flavor! I had an amazing time at Costa Pacifica!! Everyone was super friendly from the moment you walked through the door. The drinks were super tasty but the margarita was my favorite. The presentation of the food was A+; you could tell that time, effort and a little bit of love was put into each and every dish that came out. From the appetizers to the main course to the deserts everything tasted amazing and was very flavorful! I even loved the history portion that was told to us about the restaurant and owners! Taste is fantastic and the avocado was green and yummy. Shrimp Ceviche - Talk about freshness sea goods! Just great. It was Saturday around 2:30pm, we tried to get a table here and gave up waiting. It was not very busy - I mean plenty of open tables but no one came to acknowkedge us waiting at the small entrance. I cant imagine what the service would have been like if we had stayed there. After almost 15 min someone finally approached us only to tell us there was a 15 minute wait. My review is two-fold, and I'm leading with CP's current pandemic practices, because I believe that we all must work together to support our community, both the businesses and the customers that patronize them. I would not give a passing grade to Costa Pacifica on social distancing; in fact, had the wait staff not been wearing masks, I would not have known SA is experiencing its biggest surge in the worst pandemic in modern history. The restaurant was crowded, it was hectic, it was loud, and the outside dining area has been enclosed so much that fresh air would not help circulate the air. Honestly, I want to give a TWO star for this, because I regret remaining on site and dining, I was so uncomfortable with the situation. I saw a single table blocked for distancing, where we were located in the front next to the "patio/outside." We had asked to be on the patio, but it would have made little difference. The restaurant was slammed, and the music was excruciatingly loud, forcing us all to yell to be heard, which means we were exposing each other even that much more to potential COVID transmission. As for the food and service, it was quite good. We enjoyed the Pacifica shrimp appetizer, mango margaritas swirled with chamoy, and the Popeye fish entree and clam chowder in a bread bowl. The soup was steaming hot and tasty, as were all the food items. Top marks for what the restaurant is in the business of providing! And post-COVID, I would return. But unless it's a slow night, or some things are tweaked for social distancing, I won't be dining in again; it'll be take-out only. read more

I had heard this was a solid place I should try. Finally did stop in and wow was it a huge disappointment. They were fairly busy for a week night and got a table on patio. Started off with a margarita. All I tasted was triple sec. Ordered shrimp nachos and calamari for appetizers. The nachos were basically just tiny shrimp with tomato sauce poured over them and cheese on top. Wasn't very appetizing. Although it managed to be better than the calamari. The calamari came with tarter sauce, which I've never seen before. I asked for cocktail sauce and they didn't know what cocktail sauce was. Was told they didn't have cocktail sauce but would bring me something else. What they brought was tomato juice, which is the same thing that was poured over the shrimp nachos. Thankfully they didn't charge me for the calamari. For my entree I ordered snapper with butter garlic sauce. The fish tasted frozen and came in two weird square blocks. Fish was over cooked and dry. The sauce was okay but the flavor wasn't absorbed into the fish. It tasted like they cooked the fish and just poured butter garlic sauce over it. Best part of my meal was my second drink which was a glass of Cab off their happy hour, which I believe was only $3. They have some cheap happy hour drink specials but the food isn't worth the stop. Costa Pacifica is a fun place a nice atmosphere and good drinks. Service continues to be great and has always been great as we have been coming here for several years. But, it seems that the quality of the food has gone down in the past couple of months. We ordered shrimp aguachile and the taste was good but the shrimp did not seem to be fresh and were mushy. Also had the shrimp tacos Pacifica; there must have been 4-5 tiny shrimp in each taco and they were also mushy. The cheese in the quesadilla was minimally present. Unfortunately, neither was as tasty as in the past. I will say that the chicharron de ribeye was excellent. Maybe we have just had bad luck with the food the past couple of months. When they brought it, it was not rolls. When we got the bill they had tacked on a 3percent credit card fee with no notice. We cashed out since the waitress was leaving so she could get her tip. We kept ordering. They brought us a free drink to try. When we got the second bill they had overcharged us for some shots we ordered to incorporate the fee for the drink. When I pointed it out they took my card (you can use a QR at the table) and said they would fix it. The second bill they added another 3% fee that the wrong bill didn't have. Check all of your bills as they are taking advantage of customers. Also- if they are going to automatically add a fee they should give advance notice so that if a person wants to pay cash they can---SHADY!!!!!! read more
