My husband and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary at Eddie V's Prime Seafood Restaurant. We decided to go early and sit in the bar area to avoid the crowds. It was a great decision. We were sat in a small booth. Our wait staff immediately brought over a long stem rose and rose petals to add celebratory touches to our table. We were also able to buoy foods and drinks from Happy Hours along with the full menu options. Everything we ate was so fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. And we were able to spend some time chatting with the Manager. It was so nice to eat at a nice slow pace without feeling rushed due to a crowd waiting for a table. The Prime Steak Tataki was a tad salty to my taste but it was perfect with the crusty bread. We enjoyed lobster, shrimp and an assortment of oysters. We initially had our eyes on other food items but we quickly got stuffed. We will have to come back again, very soon! We love Eddie V's! The calamari appetizer was delicious and included an Asian flair to it by adding peanuts and red peppers. Loved it. After a wedge salad to lay a base for the next course, the Norwegian Salmon and the Jumbo Gulf Shrimp for wifey were spot on. This was my third Eddie V's visit. All 3 visits were at different locations. Every time, they are consistently amazing. Service is top notch. They are attentive, prompt, and they work together to make sure you are taken care of. The steaks are amazing, seafood is great, sides are always on point, and they go above and beyond pretty much every restaurant. Everything from making a reservation, to being seated in their lovely bar area, to the excellent service, and the scrumptious food was absolutely amazing. Our waiter Chris was very attentive without being too overbearing. We both ordered the 24k drink and it was balanced beautifully and so delicious. I had the mustard salmon with fresh veggies and for additional sides we had the truffle mac and cheese and the crab rice. My friend ordered the filet and it was so tender and juicy. The meal also came with dessert and the bananas foster was presented table side with flaming sauce. It was absolutely delicious and a great way to end the meal. I was so pleased with every aspect of our experience including the general atmosphere and the beautiful wine cellar we were seated next to. What a FABULOUS experience at Eddie V's! My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty. Our maitre'd was so friendly and service was very good. Ambiance is really nice, the restaurant is open but the booths felt private. It's dim but at the same time there's enough light to see menus and food. Our food starting from bread, appetizers to entrees and dessert all tasted amazing. We started out with a jumbo lump crab cake and ahi tuna tartare, we then enjoyed a ribeye with shrimp scampi on top we also added creamy mashed potatoes, we then finished off with our anniversary dessert of Bananas Foster. The manager came over and congratulated my husband I on our anniversary and told us a personal experience of his and his parents anniversary. Bitter and not the normal we consider one of San Antonio's best, it was undrinkable and we waited for our server who lacked any attention to detail. Another server came by and we asked and weee told,"every server has their own recipe and they all make them using their own unique recipe", WHAT? Remade and it was worse! The food tasted great! A bit on the high end so be prepared for that. Great spot if you're looking for a super fancy date night. We started with our waiter offering complimentary bread and butter. The bread was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside it was so good! We had the George bank scallops and my goodness this scallops were massive. Michael told us about how they are grown to that size. Then we had the jumbo lump crab cake. Very delicious paired with a tart lemon sauce on the place. It was nice and crispy giving it that soft-but-crispy texture. For dinner I ordered the 10 oz center cut filet mignon with the sour African lobster. The flavor was amazing and the lobster was cooked to perfection. The buerre blanc sauce gave it a nice tang to the lobster. For dessert I had the Bananas foster butter cake. Warning: it is super rich but the ice cream cuts that richness. I also tried the lemon tart which was nice too but not my preferred dessert. All in all great experience and all of this plus 2 drinks came out to around $350 (so be prepared for that). Michael was fantastic. An entertainer but also a wine connoisseur. We were given a menu but not given a Restaurant Week menu as they have done in the past. We only received one menu for us to share after we had to ask for it. In the years past, the Manager has always greeted us personally & wished me a "Happy Birthday!" That wasn't a big deal, though because Managers, as well as the staff are very busy. The food was amazing as usual but I felt for price we paid, the service could have been a little better. The ambiance was a little noisy, especially with the table beside ours since the guests were obviously tipsy & feeling great, but it was fine. It wasn't at all drastically overwhelming. We celebrate birthdays at Eddie V's every year as we have always enjoyed the experience; however, this time was just a little off. Mike the manager is fantastic. Hands down one of the best customer service experiences that we've experienced. We came for restaurant week and ordered off said menu. Not a fan of the filets here but everything else was fantastic! The first go round the steaks were well done, not medium. Second go round was much better but still tough around the edges. We have our favorite steak place already though so we will stick to them. The seafood however was fantastic as were the sides. Even the bread is incredible! Get the crab fried rice...OMG! Amazing.
