Very welcoming service and quick! I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and garlic knots. It was cooked and in my arms 10 minutes later. I went at about 5:30 and they weren't busy but they were still cooking pizzas for single slice service. All the pizzas look really great. This is NOT New Haven style pizza, I would describe it more like a New York slice. The crust is great, the cheese is great, and the sauce is flavorful. They weren't shy about the garlic on the garlic knots (just how I like it), any vampire within 20 miles would be repelled. 10/10 experience read more

We stopped in on a whim because my mom saw a sign for pizza near where we were parked. She's always trying out pizza to see if she can get a slice as good as ny. Costa has a nice selection for a random evening although other places were closed. They also have a lot of options for vegan and gluten free on their menu. I want to try the vegan cheesecake during my next visit. She ordered the cheese pizza and encouraged me to order my own. I sadly did not. I regretted this because after having a piece of hers it was soooo crunchy and delicious. I instantly regretted my decision. Her slice was a perfect salty, saucy late evening snack. My mom agreed it was a great slice. She just wouldn't call it the BEST slice she ever had. The establishment was very clean. The staff was efficient and everyone was courteous. Prices and portions are reasonable. Pizza is great, steak and cheese subs are oddly sweet and unappetizing due to flavor. I will never buy from them again only because I ended up with terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea soon after eating half of an Italian combo sub. When I inspected the other half, to my surprise and disgust, the only ingredient that didn't look normal was the ham. It had brownish color which is not of ham and it had mayo which I did not order sub with mayo. I came to the conclusion that they were well aware that the ham was spoiled and to cover the color, smell, and taste, they went ahead and added mayo. I don't recommend but if you do try them, proceed with caution because sooner or later you can be next. read more

This place comes on my top search while looking for vegetarian/vegan-friendly restaurants. Although their name is pizzeria, they have a wide range of options including appetizers, salads, wraps and other options. I opted for delivery from here, the food came on time. Everything tasted average, and I felt it was too overpriced for the quantity. My family tried some chicken options and they were not impressed either. I am giving them 1 extra star for having vegan opytions on their menu as not many restaurants in New Haven have vegan options. I often order the chicken caesar wrap with fries for delivery. It is excellent and the fries are fresh and crispy. I am compelled to write a review because of the excellent service I received on New Years Day, when the cafeteria at the hospital I was working at was closed. I ordered twice on Grubhub, and each time the order was picked up and not actually delivered - first driver took a picture of a random building and marked delivered, second driver marked delivery issue and cancelled the order after restaurant confirmed he picked it up. Grubhub was less than helpful with this, but the restaurant sent the order out with their own driver. The food and service were both excellent (despite the fact that I was refunded twice and they lost the money they should have made on two orders, which I feel badly about). There simply cannot be a smaller pizza shop than this one. But one thing is for sure is that the lunches that were ordered were flying out the door. That poor cook was non stop working and sweating. Great selections. read more

K so for starters YES that size large salad is just for me and so is that loaf of bread which I'll regret tomorrow, my belly looks like I'm expecting after that meal too lol. This was honestly soooooooo good it hit every spot in my belly. I had Italian dressing with that fresco salad and garlic bread with marinara. They gave me some garlic knots which weren't tasty but who cares the rest was so good I honestly can say my belly is satisfied. They even packed it all cute too bad I'm a hungry beast and tare the bag up like a feen. I want to just say they could add more dressing for such a hefty salad. I wonder if they have carrot cake... Costa is consistently tasty, good quality, and delivery is extremely fast. However, I'm disappointed that they have been slowly removing their vegan options from the Costa menu and moving them over to the Bella Casa Vegana menu, which is vegan-only. The prices are a little extreme for vegan food, and while I understand a profit must be made, it feels a little advantageous and price-gougey. My partner and I recently ordered the vegan buffalo wings (6 for $15) and received only 5 very obviously Gardein chik'n tenders tossed in buffalo sauce. I guess I don't know what I expected, but I hoped it would be a little more interesting than something in any freezer aisle... Like I mentioned, Costa is consistent, quick, and very good, but the vegan menu is quickly disappearing and moving over to an establishment of lesser quality. read more

This is my go-to for a late-night slice. Costa isn't somewhere I find myself unless it's really late at night and there's no where else open, but when it's late and I need some form of sustenance before bed, this is it. I appreciate the late hours and the availability of cheap slices, and I appreciate the late delivery options. They make a generic New York style pizza which just doesn't fly really well with this New Haven raised boy. Just look at the photo of my slice. Does that look appetizing at all? Their sign out front advertises the words "Italian cuisine". Ha, saying this place creates Italian cuisine is like saying Burger King creates American cuisine. Give me a break. I drove up to New Haven from NY to work at an event. Planned to get there early so I could hit Modern Apizza, which is 3 blocks from where I was working, but the cursed traffic on the Merritt Parkway foiled that plan completely... Are CT drivers really as bad as they seem?? Why can't they handle a few cars merging at an on-ramp??? Sorry to digress... So, I finish the job at midnight, hungry and not looking forward to the trip home. Then I notice Costa Pizza as I pass through an intersection at 12:30am. The "open" sign was lit, so I went back around the block to stop. They were obviously cleaning up and getting ready to close, but were very friendly and offered to cook whatever I wanted. I kept it simple, asking for a small cheese pizza to go and told them I like it crispy. The pizza was excellent... half-a-notch below Modern or Sally's, but they were open late, and I was out the door with my pie in under 15 minutes. Ate it while driving... with the box on the passengers seat and a Foxon's ginger ale in the cup holder... and had it fully consumed by the time I passed Trumbull... Highly recommended. read more

Best bang for your buck! The pizza is solid and their sauce is SUPERB! Seriously. We ordered mozzarella sticks and a medium chicken florentine pizza--it fed 2 of us well past satiety. We also ordered 2 cannoli and a tiramisu. Both were excellent and definitely worth the money. They deliver too so that's a definite bonus. Haven't had much of an experience with this place, however, we ordered door dash thinking it would be an easy dinner. Our door dash order was apparently picked up by someone. When our door dash driver arrived at the restaurant, they told him the food was picked up, and they refused to remake the order while our driver was there. I work in the industry, and normally when a door dash, grub hub, uber eats, etc. driver picks up food they show the name of the order on their phone to confirm and then are given the corresponding order. It really wouldn't have been difficult to remake our order (my restaurant is more than happy to fix mistakes). And we know it wasn't a door dash issue, our driver was very apologetic and tried to remedy the situation. read more

Very close to the court house which when on jury duty it is nice. Pizza was good. Thin crust super crunchy, lots of choices fOr the slice. I also got a chicken and cheese sub. Costa Pizza in New Haven, CT is AWESOME!!! I've lived in New Haven for years and not only do they deliver later than most places, their food is delicious. Their pizza is right up there with New Haven finest. The sauce is great and the crust is so flavorful, it's not too oily and not cardboard-like like a lot of these new, expensive gourmet pizza joints that are popping up all over are. Try the Hawaiian pizza with ricotta, yuuuum! The meatballs are excellent too. The staff is super nice and my order is always right. And delivery with a smile, ALWAYS!
