This location seems to lack leadership, the staff is polite, but take way longer than any other Costa Vida's I've been to. They were unorganized, they gave one customers order to another, some staff didn't seem to know what they were suppose to be doing. Although, the tortilla cooker (comal) didn't seem to be working properly, and was causing a lot of the delay. read more

I bought a raspberry chipotle chicken salad (takeout) from here a week ago. As I was eating it, something got caught in my teeth. When I removed it, I saw that it was the large part of a metal staple. I'm fortunate that it didn't go through my tongue or get impaled in my gums or, worse, that I didn't swallow it. My friend and I brought the salad back to the restaurant and spoke with the shift manager, who gave us a refund. He was very polite, but there were no questions or any indications that there would be follow-up with the staff. I sent an email to the restaurant manager the next day, and I have not received any acknowledgment. Obviously it should be some kind of training issue. When I first visited Costa Vida, I went for the next week straight, every single day! I tried Costa Vida for the first time while visiting Salt Lake City. I needed a quick dinner near my hotel. Costa Vida was across the street so I gave it a try. Based on a Google review, I had the Smothered Pork Burrito and an order of Tortilla chips. The chips were not warm, which surprised me. Otherwise, they were pretty typical for Tortilla chips. The portion was family size so I ended up tossing half of them. Would have been nice to have a smaller size available. The smothered burrito was ok. The meat was sweet and everything seemed fresh. Unfortunately it wasn't hot, even after going through the warming oven. It was filling but nothing to write home about. If you need a quick meal and you like this type of place (Chipotle, Qdoba, etc) give it a try. You won't be blown away, but you probably won't be disappointed. read more

Fresh Tex-mex food here, although the order line seems a bit claustrophobic. As a result, the rudeness in people seemed to come out easily. It is a confusing selection process, in my opinion. This location is very clean, and the staff are friendly. Food is pricier than other fast food establishments. What sets this chain apart is the food quality! They seemed to be able to serve GF food my family member could eat. I got the raspberry chicken enchiladas in corn tortillas and they are not like any enchiladas I've seen before. The tortilla is not fried, so it was kind of just stiff and not a very pleasant texture. The chicken was good, but the raspberry sauce was real weird. Do you want a tough, chewy enchilada covered in jelly? Neither did I. On the plus side, the rice was good and the guacamole was good. I skipped beans because I had beans for lunch, so maybe they're good. It is an easy and not wildly expensive option for actually gluten free food, so I will probably order something else sometime in the future. Hopefully it's better than today's. read more

Ordered a portion of nachos with grilled chicken and lots of veggies, turned out to be a lot more than I anticipated. I boxed it up along with a glass of watermelon juice. Worst Costa Vida I've ever been to! Stingy as heck with their meats, expensive and some of the workers are rude and not welcoming at all. I've gone here probably once a month for the last 2 years because it's convenient to my work and it's the same thing 90% of the time. My group of friends and I just decided we're not coming here anymore. Its usually one of two girls at the meat station...I guess they put them there because they're the stingiest. They don't smile or make eye contact and will remove meat from your bowl if they think they've given you even 1 piece too much from the amount they're already shorting you on. Their standard salad is supposed to have 4 oz of meat and what you get is more like 2 oz. I know this because I eat low carb, high protein and know my protein sizes. The only way you'll get 4 oz of meat is if you order 2 meats in your food. They'll skimp on both and charge you a ridiculous surcharge. The part that's even more annoying is that if you get 2 meats, they'll try to charge you for the expensive one as the meal and do the cheaper one as a side. I got the daily special which was a chicken meal and got a side of steak. Then one of the stingy girls tells the cashier it's a steak meal with a side of chicken. This happens almost every single time. Then I get to the cashier and she asks if I want a drink and I ask her the price of a drink and she tells me and I say no but she doesn't mention that my daily special comes with a drink included...shady af!!! This place will be rude to you while ripping you off. I'm taking my money somewhere else. read more

I tried Costa Vida for the first time today and I would never eat here again. It's a less good version of chipotle, which is saying something because chipotle is very mediocre food. There is no vegetarian meat option or grilled vegetables. So if you're vegetarian, be prepared to eat what is basically a $7 bean and cheese burrito. This place reminds me of a Chipotle and (if you've heard of it) Panchero's mixed together. They make their tortillas fresh using a little ball of dough and put it in a press. The ingredients are pretty fresh tasting but I got that sweet pork and it's like overkill. You know when you eat something and after a little bit you don't want to taste it anymore? That's how I felt with this sweet pork burrito. The service was a bit rude and just quick to rush you and get you out of there. It wasn't even around lunch time or dinner time. I placed an online order, scheduled it an HOUR ahead of time, we received it and it was completely wrong. Couldn't even get a full refund. One item was entirely missing and another was the wrong meat, which is quite literally dangerous to people with food restrictions. The receipt on the bag was my name and order, so they just completely put the wrong items in our bag before sending it out to be delivered. After scheduling it an hour ahead of time, I'm incredibly disappointed and will not order from here again. Save your time and money and order from somewhere else. read more

Not one employee acknowledged me for 5 minutes as I stood in the pick up line, nor did they apologize for not having my order prepared on time.
