Their crabs are some of the better ones I have had (I got the 35s). They are very "dirty" (the name MD gave for lots of seasoning). The only thing that I didn't like is when I asked for melted butter they didn't tell me it was 75 cents ( I found out when the bill came). I just think they should have told you when you ordered it. I also got this coconut and cinnamon friend ice cream- it was different then any other one I had had (it was like it the ice cream was between 2 pieces of french toast)- It had a caramel and raspberry sauce- except I didn't taste any coconut. Food is delish, but it's one of the best places for crabs, hands down. Can be a little pricey, but they are worth it. The bar side is a very laid back atmosphere, and the dining room side is casual to business casual - business casual usually being the local business guys in khakis and polo shirts, having a few beers or drinks over a good meal. I was very disappointed with the service. The creamed spinach, which I usually love, tasted like it had sugar in it. Mashed potatoes were awful. The wait for our food was horrible and the place wasn't that crowded. When we needed refills, it took about 25 minutes to find the waitress. We went for my son's birthday I was so disappointed. Highly advertised Costas Inn sparked my interest. It's been in Dundalk for a long time but I've yet to check it out until a few days go. Interior is old fashion and could almost be labeled a dive bar. The dinning room however is nicer. The menu is fairly simple, yet offers a wide arrange of items. Food is mid range priced and is without a doubt delicious. Service is quick and staff is very friendly. Plenty of parking outside. My only complaint would be that I thought the booze were too expensive for the area. $3.50 for cans of beer and I had a shot of a inexpensive liquor that cost $7.50. While I think that this is a little outrageous, it wouldn't prevent me from coming back and getting more of the delicious food. I just wouldn't come here to have drinks with friends socially because the bill would get pretty high. Regardless, this is a great place to go and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

I ate there Thursday evening. I did not look at the check or really even the menu because I always go there for the same thing. 18 percent gratuity was added to our check. I also left an additional 20.00 without knowing that this restaurant grats ALL CHECKS. When I called Friday to talk to a manager, they would not get on the phone. I was told by the carry out department that the manager said it's printed on the menus and also posted at the hostess stand. The hostess stand was closed and we came thru the bar. Food was great as always, service was awesome, so I wasn't asking for a refund. Even thought I normally wouldn't tip $32,13 on a 67.00 dollar check. I just feel like they should have verbally told us that. I grabbed the check and didn't even look at it because I was treating. I think I was more upset that the manager wouldn't address this when I called and instead had his carry out girl handle it. read more

My first time dining at Costa's but I have lived in area all my life and have heard the praise of this restaurant. Once we were seated we waited 10-15 minutes before ever seeing our waitress. I actually was about to get up and leave when she came out from the back room to take our drink order. For my entree I ordered the steak and cake. The crab cake was ok but not great and rather small. There was nothing award winning about this crab cake. There are much better crab cake options in the area. The ribeye was horrible. I ordered it medium. When I received it the bottom half was well done and the top half was hardly medium rare. There was a clear line right through the thickness of the steak dividing the over cooked half from the under cooked half where it was obvious that Cook never flipped the steak and simply cooked the bottom half. On top of that they poured brown gravy on top of my rib eye steak! Who does that? The steak itself was very soft and had an odd texture to it. I asked my girlfriend to try a piece and she couldn't eat it and she loves steak. She agreed that the texture was odd. Very soft and mushy. The crabs are great! Well seasoned and the crab cake was reasonably priced for the size! The crab cake was 20 with 2 sides. The service was good. The servers worked as a team and Stacy provided great service. Biggest recommendation is to ensure that you make a reservation if you want crabs because they do sell out. They were nice though because they called us before our reservation to tell us that they were selling out and asked if we're having crabs so they could save them which they did. We had oysters which were refreshing. The only downside is the atmosphere of the restaurant. There isn't much atmosphere. There are a few tvs and the table look cheap. Had the best food and service for date night! My boyfriend and I came in to try Costas for the very first time. We went for Baltimore Restaurant Week and sat at the bar area. Our server Kat was absolutely amazing! She took care of us without being pushy and she made sure that our first time here would be special. We each had the cream of crab soup to start and it was delicious. We also split a calamari appetizer that was fresh and perfectly fried - the homemade duck sauce was pretty out of this world! Don't forget to order the crushes; the peach crush and cranberry lemonade crushes were by far the best we've had. For our entrees, we both had the steak and cake and they were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Kat offered to wrap our desserts for the road as she noticed we were getting full. Steamed crabs!!! Absolutely fantastic... when I was preggers, I wanted to spend a weekend in Baltimore pretty much to eat a huge tableful of crabs. Well, I got my wish here at Costas Inn. So awesome... we came in on a Saturday night with a full house and as crab-eating newbies (we are from Southern NY), we got a half order of crabs which we quickly devoured. We ended up getting another half order of crabs and really enjoyed it. The only thing that sucked is that it was soooo salty. I wasn't far enough in my pregnancy to have marshmellow puffy fingers yet, so it was definitely the bath of Old Bay that caused me to puff up like a balloon.
