I hate that I even have to give this place 1 star. I went with my husband yesterday, I should've walked out the moment we walked in. There was standing water the entire length of the restaurant with just a few wet floor signs scattered and no one making an effort to clean it up. There were children, elderly people and myself which I'm currently expecting - all 3 a fall risk and that motivated no one to resolve this. We ordered our food which took over 30 mins to come out with the restaurant less than a quarter full and when it did come out only our entree was hot each of our two sides were freezing cold. Our waitress never came by to check how we were doing so we ate the edible portions and quickly paid the bill and left. My husband immediately got sick when we got home and we've both been sick all day today. All this to say don't come to this location unless you are looking for slow terrible service and food poisoning. read more

I want to say we had horrible service but our waitress was amazing. She was quick to get our orders, bring rolls and refill drinks. It was the kitchen, so slow!! We waited way too long for our order and when it finally came everything cold. I used to ho to thus restaurant all the time and had good food. But I can't say that was the case thus week. Very disappointed. We used to go here often in the past so when my sister came to town she requested we go back. We ordered the queso and salsa appetizer first. The queso tasted like nacho cheese from the movies and the salsa was like out of a can. To top this off, more than half of our chips were soggy or stale! Next, I ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup that was supposed to be topped with avocado slices. When I received my soup, they gave me a small bowl filled to the brim with tortilla strips and cheese and only three tiny quarter slices of avocado. Service was very slow and it wasn't busy dinner time yet (around 5). We waited over 20 minutes to get our empty glasses refilled. Will not be back. read more

This was my one and only trip here. First I got a raw baked potatoes more like a cut one from the garden and cover with sour cream. My brother in law's mashed potatoes was like a baseball. The shrimp was old and seasoned horrible to the point of in editable. We ordered 10 oz rib eye and received a tiny sirloin each the waitress and manager thought it was funny to complain about us in front of us. I'm not gonna lie, ever since I've become involved with Yelp, I left most chains behind. With that being said, apparently I've become quite a snob. My parents tend to usually eat at chains since that's what is readily available for the most part wayyy up north. They invited me to eat dinner with them and I rolled my eyes thinking it would be something like Texas Roadhouse or the usual Cheddar's. But I am never one to complain about a free meal. My mom could sense my unenthusiastic response and proceeded in racking her brain to think of one of the few restaurants they've been to that I haven't been to. As we drove further north to Georgetown, neither one could even remember the name of the place which they had been to once before. Cotton Patch? All I could think of for some reason was Cabbage Patch Kids. I was skeptical at first...it was in the faaaar back of a huge shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised by this cute, quaint place! The outdoor patio is huge and fantastic. We sat out on the patio which overlooked a beautiful green scenery out to the west with nothing else in sight except the beautiful sun setting. Prices were excellent, portions were more than fair and our server was very attentive. The spinach artichoke dip was great and the tortilla chips were strangely addicting. I was feeling' the meat and ordered a 6oz. steak with grilled shrimp, which came with 2 sides for $9.99! They got my steak right and made it a perfect medium. They even have a healthy part of the menu which included how many calories, and basically brags about being the "skinny" version. Even my dad's potato, cheese & bacon soup was savory. I almost went with a burger because they sounded so delicious...so there will definitely be next time! If you're ever up in G-town, definitely eat here, its affordable and delicious and you won't be disappointed. I've been a loyal fan for many years and kept going back, despite slow service, filthy restrooms, and persistent order errors. We still loved the food, so kept going back and ordering takeout. However, the last two orders, we were missing most or all of 4 meals, each time a few weeks apart. Each time, I called in and spoke to the manager, who promised me a replacement for 4, then 8 meals for a dine-in meal. When I went in shortly after, the manager was replaced and the new staff refused to honor his promises. My bill there is often $150, so it's not a cheap place, yet we continue to get subpar service, with no effort to remedy the past missing items. If you pay for something and don't get it, I feel it's theft at a certain point. The fact that we had to completely find alternate meals for several in our family, on multiple occasions, is unsatisfactory. read more

Food is absolutely amazing, but the service we received left little to be desired. Staff seemed so demotivated and it showed in their service. From the get go, I felt like we were a bother to our server; she was too busy unjamming a stapler and taking to the other servers to pay attention to us. First she didn't fully explain when she changed my order that I would be getting LESS food and paying more for it. Then she always walked by the table when I was taking a sip of a drink and asked if I needed anything, but didn't stick around for me to swallow my drink and answer. My chicken fingers without fries and minimal BBQ sauce were very tasty, and the chicken and dumplings that are equivalent to a side of fries was even better! Definitely will give it another try, but would request a server that actually gave a damn. It could be better if executed really well, but so-so menu combined with ok to bad execution means it's really not a great choice. Service 2/5 - uncaring and non-attentive servers. Nice location in Wolf Ranch tucked away in the corner. We ate outside since it wasn't hot and there was lots of shade. The hostess and our waitress was nice and took care of us pretty good. I had the Shiner Bock Fish and chips and my wife had the Seafood duo and some wine. I have heard good things about their chicken fried steak here but the fish and chips are my favorite. The fish was nice, crispy and flavorful. We also ordered fried green tomatoes for a appetizer and for someone who doesn't like tomatoes it was really good! The avocado ranch was different but we also asked for regular ranch. I will definitely come back to try the chicken fried steak if I don't order the fish again. Always have a good experience at CP. Cotton Patch has become a standard place for us to go when we don't feel like cooking, which seems pretty often. I could have sworn that I have reviewed them before, but it appears not. Fired mushrooms. Some of the best around. You gotta eat some. The mushrooms are fresh, none of those frozen ones. There chicken fried steak is pretty good. Cream gravy, pretty standard. I really enjoy the broccoli on the side. Overall, the food is pretty descent. Unfortunately, the service seems to be going down. The meals come with bread, but is seems like the wait staff is given a bonus if they don't serve it. It's been tough to try and get the bread. You have to keep asking for it, over and over. I've noticed the same with the other tables around us. The last two times we've had the same waiter, and he is slow. I'm usually a pretty generous tipper, but not with him. You have to beg for drink refills and beg for some bread. I was especially annoyed by one of the waitresses during today's visit. A young women with dreadlocks. She kept squeezing between out table and the one next to use. Both tables had seats that were occupied, and the space separating them was thin, yet she kept insisting on squeezing through and bumping into both people each time. So, overall, pretty safe on the food. The service needs some immediate attention from the manager. May keep us from returning. read more

The Food and service was lacking, to say the least. A young guy came by and said he would refill my water. I told him it was Sprite and he said "Oh, Okay." Smiled and left. He left it unclear whether or not he would refill my Sprite. Our food came, not delivered by our server. And he clanked the dishes loudly on the table when he set them. He said "alright." We realized we were not given silverware which we quickly discovered was an issue all over the restaurant. Many young girls walked by asking the hostesses for silverware. We were upset the guy who brought us our food didn't ask us if we needed anything. It was probably a good 10 minutes before our server came back to our table and we asked for silverware. By that time, our food got cold. I ordered the pot roast. It literally looked like dog food. The meat was grey and tasted overcooked. It was smothered in brown gravy that tasted packaged. The potatoes and carrots that accompanied the pot roast tasted overcooked and not fresh. Our server came, said she would be right back with a Sprite refill. It never came. That's two times a server noticed my low Sprite quantity and did nothing. She came back with the check, but no sprite refill. I never mentioned the Sprite to anyone because I was promised a refill. But the only thing that was delivered next time we saw the server was the check. By that time, I wanted to leave. Never coming back. read more

Many tables were not bussed and when we got seated were told they were washing silver wear and would bring some shortly. I ended up going to get silver wear . Went in for lunch today and after waiting ten minutes to be greeted at our table we decided to leave. While waiting for a server to greet us we witnessed two other tables that had been waiting and not greeted as well. We decided it was best to just leave than have an a terrible lunch. Seemed like they were very short staffed, I felt bad for the servers. I would have much rather waited for a table at the host area versus waiting at my table to never be greeted... At least two servers, a hostess and manager all passed our table several times in the ten minutes we waited.. Found a variable menu of items to please everyone, nicely priced, convenient location, and relaxing view of the area to dine to. Yelping through the choices and looking for someplace new to eat at in the area, we chose the Cotton Patch. It is a nice nestled little restaurant in the sprawls of a shopping center. While there we ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries, Chicken Fried Steak, Shiner Bock Fish-n-Chips, and a Salad. The Bacon Cheese fries were really good, they were filled throughout with cheese and bacon (don't tell my doctor...lol), the chicken fried steak came large and well seasoned, and moderately good for eating here in Central Texas (I am from Southeast Texas and it is a home specialty), the Salad was a good salad (sorry nothing more descriptive...lol), and my Shiner Bock Fish-n-Chips were surprisingly good for a place I was not sure about. They came well seasoned and battered, not over cooked, and the portions were good in size and flaky as they should be. As I have looked for some good Fish-n-Chips around the outsides of Austins I was glad to find these. Additionally, I enjoyed the fact that when I asked for hot sauce to add zip to my meal, they offered something other than Tobasco that everyone thinks is "hot sauce" for everything (it's good with certain things, just NOT everything); in this case they had Louisiana Hot Sauce...so I got the flavor I wanted and the heat for the dish without overpowering its natural flavor. All in all, we like being there as a nice family oriented place that had an attentive wait staff, good food, and great aesthetics contrary to being in a strip mall center. Our very young daughter specifically liked us sitting outside (she could amuse herself with the people and views) and we enjoyed the comfort & view in the cool evening also. So the next time you are at the Wolf Ranch Shopping area, and you are looking for a meal; go down to the corner area of the center for a great tasting convenient meal that you won't have to search far for. read more

Wow, am I dense or what? I didn't even realize a drive to College Station wasn't necessary in order to enjoy the fantastic fish 'n chips at Cotton Patch. Not that I mind the drive since my parents live there... Cotton Patch was perfect after spending the late afternoon walking around Lake Pflugerville...yeah, you heard me correctly...Lake Pflugerville with the husband and kiddoes. Just like the one in College Station, this location is nestled in a shopping center...which I realized is like the mother ship calling me home... So I can shop at TJ Maxx and have lunch at Cotton Patch. Sweet! So my oldest and I had the fish 'n chips and they were wonderful. The flaky white fish was perfectly battered and the fries were those yummy cracked pepper type. Not suprisingly my youngest had the macaroni and cheese...which comes with two sides and an oreo cookie. It's kind of cute because they serve it on a three section plate. My husband had a small chicken fried steak which hit the spot. Now that it's like we are feeding three adults and one child, getting the bill is sometimes frightening...but not this time. Well last week I went to The Cotton Patch in Round Rock for their birthday special, there was a long wait and my beer was flat and my food was cold once I got seated and served. Someone from Social Media at Cotton Patch read my review from last week and sent me another $5 coupon for the Chicken Fried Chicken or Steak good through today. I thought well this week I'll go to the Georgetown location to see if its better. I was seated quickly and I showed the waitress the coupon that was sent too me, she said without looking at it that was not valid. I showed her the dates that it was good so she had to go check with her manager, she came back and said that it was okay and took my order. I ordered a beer and the Chicken Fried Chicken once again, the beer came out and actually had a head of foam which was better than last weeks beer. Okay so I'm happy and I'm waiting for my food, as time by well over 30 minutes and my food is still not ready. The restaurant was not crowded at all and the server kept telling me in a sheepish way that food was coming out soon but never did so I finally got up to find out what was up. Evidentialy the kitchen did not want to make my food because I was using a coupon that was meant to make me feel better about last week, well it did not work. Well I finally got my order and it was hot enough but so was I by that point. What can I say, they tried to fix it but couldn't. Came here for a quick lunch and the food was pretty good. The service was quick and we got what we wanted quickly. Nothing too amazing that blows your mind it's a standard franchise restaurant that you get decent food and good service. The special cornbread that they have right now is amazing though!! It has jalapeños in it and it gives it just a little spice but the sweetness from the cornbread is delicious!! We live in RR and see that they are going to open up a new location here soon, So we decide to try out there lunch menu. Building ambiance is great, Patio has great view, Interior walls made out of rock formations and booths very comfy. MY wife and I were seated very quickly. It was around 130 pm on a Thursday and the place just cleared out the lunch rush. Service was prompt and we were asked about ordering apps, which we declined. I ordered a coke and wife a water. The lunch menu specials were a little high About 7.99 and up. The pics of the food looked great and decent size portions. The dinner menu of same items is about $1.50 more. We were brought 2 rolls, Yeast I think and they were okay. But not like Logans, I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and 2 side of Garlic mashed and Mac and Cheese. Wife ordered the Tortilla soup and baked potato pick two special. A little steep at $7.50. Food came kinda quick as I assume all they did was cook my chicken friend steak to order. First impressions, Looked like a kids meal. The plate was bout 40% empty (see pic). Chicken steak was hot but mashed potatoes was just a scoop and mac was in a small bowl maybe 2 scoops if most. For a big guy this was more like a appetizer not a lunch meal. My wife's soup was cold and bland, The Baked potato was to be "Loaded" well very little back butter and sour cream... The potato it self was hard over cooked. It need to have been wrapped in sea salt but it was like a boiled potato... Thumbs down... she took few bites and the rest will be in the can in 10 minutes! There always is a longer wait than necessary; understaffed so table turn takes longer than it should. And good lord, be prepared if you order take out. Ordered at 6:16 online (receipt showed 6:14) and system told me food would be ready at 6:40p. Stood there from 6:40 until 7:12 waiting for food. Hadn't even been started at 6:40. There's no reason not to have a dedicated staff/expediter just handling to go orders. Straight up ridiculous. read more

We have been here several times,and tried it again last night. The grilled chicken plate I had was very good. It came with rice and grilled veggies,which were fine too. The bread ,was fresh,but must not have a lot of fat in it,so a little bland,but still ok. My hubby had a veggie platter ,and was pleased with the mashed potatoes,veggies,blackeyed peas and rice and brocc. casserole.. All in all,we were happy with the service,comfortable booths,oldies music,and the good food. Last time we had the peach cobbler,which was flaky and yummy served hot, then with the ice cream on top. The cobbler is good deal for 2.99,and just 1,49 for a generous scoop of ice cream. There is an outside patio with nice scenic view. The weather has cooled off a little and there was a nice breeze.
