Mighty fine is a great little neighborhood hamburger joint that needs to be in everybody's rotation. For some reason, it had fallen out of mine, but I met up with a group of friends to shoot the bull and enjoy a great burger. I am kicking myself for staying away so long. A Couple of my friends went with the Smashburger and raved about it. I went with the traditional and asked for a grilled onions to be added to it. I recently started adding grilled onions to my hamburger orders, and it definitely added a lot of flavor to the mighty fine version. The burger was cooked to perfection - medium rare, which is so hard to find places that will cook your burger that way these days. I think it has to do with the quality of meat rather than the Cook's competence, regardless, mighty fine was able to deliver it this trip. I also added a side order of onion rings. I was super excited to visit this restaurant. The inside is very cute, and the service is good. However, the food was just not good at all. The fries were room temperature, and for some reason I only got tiny, overly crisped pieces. It got to the point where it was the same texture and taste as a potato chip. Ahh so disappointed by this last visit. I went in initially to get their burger but saw chicken strips and decided to give them a try. They were so hard, dry, and small in size. I got the gravy with it and hoped that would help but the gravy tasted off as well. My husband and I had to drive to Austin unexpectedly to pick up a piece from IKEA that we couldn't find locally. After picking up our order we were both start and looked for something we could grab quick to eat and make the 2 and a half hour drive back Houston. I searched on Yelp (of course ) and found MFB and I'm so happy we did. I'm a burger connoisseur and these were pretty good. We also ordered chocolate shakes that were made with real ice cream and were also delicious. The interior was bright, welcoming, and very clean, as were the bathrooms. The service was very friendly as well, and there was plenty of parking in the shopping center where they're located, although it may get crowded at peak times. Burger joints are a dime a dozen so it's hard to stand out in a sea of beef but Mighty Fine Burgers pleasantly surprised me. Their name sums up my impression pretty well, it was mighty fine The burger patty is thick and cooked well, still juicy and when you unwrap the burger you might be surprised how big it is. They cook them medium well by default I think but you can ask for something different if that is what suits you. It's a classic and good burger, not much else to ask for. I also ordered a caramel sea salt shake that was delicious to go alongside my classic burger and onion rings. It's also great that they rotate special burgers and shakes every month. I'd definitely come through to see what they have on the menu. Looking through past photos it looked like they had a donut bun burger which I wish was there during my visit . Otherwise, I did enjoy the meal and cold beer after my shopping trip. You can never go wrong with Mighty Fine. First time coming to this location and it was very clean with lots of seating. They even have a nice covered outdoor section and outdoor patio area. I like that the burgers here are meaty. I'm not a big crinkle fries type but I got a really good batch. I ate them with ranch and hot sauce... PERFECT COMBO. Strawberry lemonade was pretty solid. Recently moved to the area, so we were at IKEA and moving all that heavy disassembled furniture made us hungry! Saw this place was close so we bopped over. The employees were greeting everyone the moment they came in the door-- hospitable! The fella who took our order was very friendly and in a good mood, and he asked us questions to help us make sure we got the perfect burger to our liking. I went for the mushroom Swiss with grilled onion, and while jalapeño mayo is their specialty, he was happy to remove the jalapeño from mine. They have a soda fountain but you can also buy glass bottles sodas on ice for twenty cents more. Our food was ready reasonably quickly, around 7 minutes; we took it to-go. I really liked the open ambiance of the inside and the A/C was of course a welcome relief in August while we waited. My burger tasted really good... nice and juicy! I was really craving a burger and passed this place a few times, so I decided to check it out. It initially reminds me of 5 Guys with their Burgers, Hotdogs, and Shakes. I will say they have more of a selection of shakes with a special Blue Bell Blackberry Cobbler Shake. I personally went with the Salted Caramel shake. It was delicious, plus the consistency was thick, but I didn't need to activate max suction to get it up the straw. Now, the burger was nicely assembled and came out quickly. After being trapped inside by the snow this week with little power and water, it was so nice to eat a warm meal! We went to the first place that seemed to not have a crazy wait and that was open, which happened to be Mighty Fine. I appreciated their diligence on getting people through the lines because I'm sure they were slammed all evening. They had a positive, kind attitude taking our order and delivering our meal to the table. They also were really quick at getting our meal out. I appreciated all of their hard work because they experienced this snowy week as well. Thank you Mighty Fine for allowing us to have a hot meal when not a lot of other restaurants were open yet! As for the menu, it's limited but they're known for their burgers and shakes so that's really all they need. We both ordered a classic 1/2lb burger. One with cheese and one without.
