This is a very well run Long John Silvers. Very friendly staff and good fish options. Everything's fried on demand, hot and crispy. Neighborhood is all businesses so nothing fancy there, but the restaurant is clean and neat. The fried cod is the best.

I grew up visiting the location by Capital Plaza. I have not had LJS in over a decade and decided to test this location out. I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of the food. I had the fish and chicken plate that I shared with my toddler. She very much enjoyed the chicken and fries. I enjoyed the fish and coleslaw. The hush puppies were nostalgic to me. I used the drive thru so I did not see the inside of the restaurant. My server was pleasant. My food was hot and out very quickly. I would recommend to other families to come on by!

Mixture of cold and hot items on the tray. Poor quality control.

TLDR: Some items were hot, some were cold. Not impressive for a place that specializes in deep-fried everything. As another user put it, "Long John Silvers is a dying breed of restaurants that serve fried fish to go." That said, you have to give them credit for enduring and out-lasting a whole bunch of their competitors over the years. Heck, the decor still looks like it's right out of the 70's, and that's saying something. Order two platters; the usual diamond-shaped pollock fillets along with fries and hushpuppies, and the rectangular cod fillets with fries and hushpuppies. The cod was hot and delicious. Everything else was lukewarm or even COLD. We were there at 10:45am on a day when they opened at 10:30. The only way they could have cold items is if they cooked them last night, or someone came in at 7am to cook them and left them out. Either way, pretty unappealing. Like I said, when hot the food's fine. But when your only product is deep-fried fill-in-the-blank, you can't get away with serving cold food. That's something to throw back, not serve. This place scores a 2 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Maybe the amount due was a clue a plate was missing. Wonder who kept the change. The restaurant or the Uber driver.

Just about the worst experience ordering on Uber from this restaurant. They not only forgot one fish plate, but didn't add any condiments like TARTAR sauce. How do you not add any condiments for 4 fish plates ? Unbelievable!! Called several times and they never answered the phone. I will never order from this place again. Was my first and last time. Had to order from a completely different fish restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Mid at best. Floor was greasy and trash cans were filthy. Soda machine was a bust. Food was lackin! Customer service was great! But food and place was a bust!

Tahra was very kind and patient with my order.

Long John Silvers's is a dying breed of restaurants that serve fried fish to go. Gone are its competitors such as "H. Salt Fish and Chips and the others. But Long John's has hung in there. I always visit this location after a worship team rehearsal. I love the flavor. They offer other options than just fried fish. Service here is exceptional. The drive thru speaker is clear and concise. They can actually understand your requests. My order is always correct. You must stop by and sample the catch.

I have not been to a long John silver's in probably 20 years. For some reason I got a craving today.. So I ordered through Uber eats and got fish shrimp and clams.. I'll start with the fish. It was way overcooked.. The crusting was almost too hard to bite through. And there was little to no fish inside at all.. The shrimp I'd probably give it a 3 it was it was all right but not good.. The clams were good. I also got the corn as a side and it tasted like they put some kind of chemical in it inedible The fries were probably good when they were fresh buthey were fresh but by the time I got them they were cold and fries reheated in the microwave are just disgusting. I definitely will never order from here again. I don't know what happened or when it happened but they used to be pretty good.

2 Fish & Shrimp w/ green beans & fries. Extra crumbs on the side.

Just not good seafood. Over cooked. Often get stomach upset from it. Questionable fishing practices.

We enjoy Long John's occasionally. We love the fish and crumbles. The major downside is that there isn't a Long John's in Georgetown.

Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

Popped in on a whim after shopping at Old Navy a few doors down. VIBE: Very pleasant seafood restaurant vibe. I didn't feel like I was inside a massive shopping center -- it had a nice seaside charm. At the same time, it was very welcoming and unpretentious. Casual, not at all stuffy in any way. MENU/FOOD: Great! Ample diversity. Whether you want to stuff your face full of fried food or eat healthy, they've got it. I had the Omega Bowl (salmon + rice + veggies) and it was delicious. We also shared the coconut shrimp -- really good. I almost forgot -- my kid's burger came with French fries and they were great -- I stole most of them. KIDS: At first, it didn't seem like a particularly kid-friendly spot (I didn't actually see any other kids there during brunch on a Sunday). However, we felt very welcome with our two toddlers (3.5 and 1.5). They have high chairs and a kids menu (a mix of fried seafood and usual stuff like hamburger). Additionally, both our waitress and the manager (who were extremely kind and understanding) both mentioned having kids as well. SERVICE: Excellent. Our waitress (Sarah, I believe) was very nice and attentive. The manager stopped by to see how we were doing -- also very nice. The hostess? I'll let you guess... also very nice. Culver's is smaller burger chain around Austin, we hit them up last Saturday around 6-7pm on 30May2026 (just in case management is trying to isolate the issue) It was busy but not crazy and we thought... oh yea... they are cranking out orders!!! NOW... We want management to see what we see... Daniella (don't know her name, buzz cut hairdo) can't seem to figure out how to focus on taken orders and taking payment... we couldn't hear her because she had the mic too far away...instead focusing on work, she look like the star at a comedy show making everyone laugh... giggling and chatting with her coworkers standing next to her while asking us to repeat the same order 3 different times... It was as if Daniella was challenging the world to say something... she oozed the confidence only true irreverence and contempt for accountability can yield!!! She tried to portray a crash out vibe... lame! Her attitude and personality are a cancer to success... she's an individual who wants to run a team, but doesn't know what she wants to do in life... she doesn't want to be good at drive thru work, I know that... she is infecting your workforce and leading the charge to being the reason why people will continue to complain about your location until she is called out and retrained with a purpose or dismissed... Clearly Daniella is special and her thoughts and feelings are more important than the task at hand... So she shows up and entertains herself by making life difficult for paying customers while she's getting paid... I wish I knew her real name, she was truly a pill of a person... I'm sure you know exactly who I'm talking about... just because those types tend to get weird attention as she remains simply an observer of her own life... a passenger who watches the autonomous nature of her attitude play out through her self justified poor behavior.... Yea sad, she'd rather be rude and non compliant than have a positive impact in the moment for the benefit of being good at your job... Oh... AND we got food sick after... that's why the review!! "Nosh & Bevvy Won't Forgive Me for All the Ways They Wronged Me"…read more That title is meant to be ironic. After more than fifteen years as a customer, I made one mistake: a four-dollar tab discrepancy on a day when I had just been turned away from a dental appointment because my blood pressure was too high for treatment. I was upset, distracted, and wanted to be around people I believed were my friends. That was the last day I ever stayed there as a customer. Let's go down the list. I have been accused of skipping out on my tab. The truth is that after fifteen years of faithful patronage, there was one incident involving approximately four dollars. I had added items to my order, paid cash, and made a mistake. One mistake in fifteen years. After that happened, I became concerned that I would continue to be treated as though I couldn't be trusted. In my experience, comments about unpaid tabs continued to surface. Rather than create another misunderstanding, I made a point of being generous. On the very next occasion I tipped Charlie more than fifty percent. Instead of feeling appreciated, I arrived the next time feeling insulted when the entire amount was simply pocketed without so much as an acknowledgment. Maybe others see that differently. That's how it felt to me. The situation became even more disturbing when interactions began taking place outside the bar itself. While standing in front of my own home, I experienced conduct that I considered harassment. As a result, I filed a police report and have the corresponding case number in my email records. What disturbed me even more were stories that reached me through people connected to my former partner. According to what we were told, false rumors were being circulated claiming that my ex-girlfriend had committed suicide. Whether people thought this was gossip, entertainment, or somehow harmless, it was not. The psychological harm caused by spreading something like that is difficult to overstate. Shame on everyone involved. What you don't know is Satara an I  spoke with witnesses that completely implicated Gilbert in the rumor. What strikes me now is that I nearly forgave all of this. I removed earlier reviews because I genuinely wanted to move on. I thought it was over. I thought everyone could move on with their lives. Apparently not. If people insist on dragging the issue back into the light, then here it is. The reality is that I don't even particularly miss the place. What I do object to is being disrespected. When a business chooses to disrespect a customer who supported it for fifteen years, there are consequences. One of those consequences is that customer telling his side of the story publicly. A Message to the Staff: If I believe I am being harassed in public--whether at Night Owl or anywhere else--I will pursue every legal remedy available to me. And Sam, for what it's worth, I am sorry that your employees have represented your business in a way that ultimately cost you a longtime customer and the loss of business from everyone else that read & took this review to heart as a warning & again, Sam & Charlie, for what it's worth I wanted to make all of this go away.  Fifteen years. One four-dollar mistake. And somehow I'm still the one expected to apologize when I feel like my partner and I were the ones most wronged. Because I'm not a completely vindictive man. If I get an apology from every employee that works building that knows me, In writing, I will remove this review. -- Mad Dashiell
