It pains me to write this, because we live locally and have been to this location numerous times over the years. Our last visit was terrible. We should have left when we were seated and walked past several unbussed tables, food and napkins on the floor and were sat at a table that had been bussed, but not wiped down. We could see the kitchen floor and it was a greasy mess as well. Things did not get better once we ordered. Several sides were not available as were 2 choices of salad dressings. There were so many unbussed tables, that they ran out of dishes and our food got cold waiting for them. I watched both managers, servers and greeters continuously walk over the dirty floor, past dirty tables and doing nothing. When we left, 3 staff we at the greeters stand staring a their phones...and the place was still a mess. Sadly, this was on Mother's Day with my wife and our 4 girls...none of which will ever return to this location until there are major improvements. We spoke with the manager and she acknowledged the situation...but nothing was done about it. In full disclosure, we got 25% off our bill. But I'm just glad nobody got sick. We will not be going back here for a while. We got seated at 8:25 after a 45 minute wait in a near empty restaurant. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks and appetizer and another 15 minutes to get refills and our food. We practically hunted down our waitress for everything, to include the check so that we could finally leave just before 10pm as the last of two seated tables. There are a lot of fried and grilled options, but my mom and I were both in the mood for salads so we got the bbq and Cobb salads. They were both decent with large portions. The fried chicken in my salad was seasoned well and the bbq sauce was a nice touch. The waitress was friendly and very prompt. My only complaint was that the portion of the mama's butter cake that was edible was delicious, but about half of the cake was a dense crust that I couldn't even break apart with my fork, which was disappointing. Finally we are seated and server takes our beverage order. We wait and wait. After about ten minutes or so we leave and go next door to Fish City Grill. They literally stole our money and said there's nothing they can do about it. We ordered food to go directly through the cotton patch website , added 2 orders of the cornbread , picked up our food and realized there's no cornbread once we were home.. We called the restaurant for a refund because we just didn't want to drive all the way back. They told us THEY DONT SELL CORNBREAD ANYMORE?? Then... they don't do refunds?? Oh hell no. This is the worst place, food, service, everything was terrible. Ridiculous they would charge us for cornbread and 1. Don't give us cornbread and 2. My family's 3rd visit. Last night, Sunday the 29th, had to be a fluke. Service sucked, the food was put together hastily, without any love. 20 minutes to get a drink order, 40 minutes for bread, 1 hour for my salad, and another 30 minutes for the meals. The manager said that they ran out of just about everything because of the Poppy festival and offered us 20% off of our bill. Wow what a BIG disappointment. Called last night for pick up and the first sign was the lady on the phone was rude I should of just hung up and went else where but this was a celebration that was wanted for something new. Got to pick up food and it was dead and took them 8 mins to help me with only about 10 people sitting down. Got food, sodas we're made already so those were watered down already. Got home and food was soggy cold and my shrimp tasted like it was deep fried in nasty old grease. My husband got a chicken quesadilla with no salsa or pico and of course it had those. This place is a joke probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to first of all we came in on a Friday afternoon around 5pm and the place was empty just a few people eating that's when I should have ran But no I said let's try it. The waiter took us all the way to the rear of the restaurant to a booth located near the bathroom I said we are all the way in the back don't forget about us and as quick as he could answer he laughed and said last time I did that it was my first day on the job, we ordered our food my wife's salad came with no dressing we asked for dressing and waited and waited and finally got the dressing we ordered two steak dinners one medium and one medium well one was cooked medium the other was cooked well done I ordered soup it came with the meal instead of before the meal and that was the last time we seen our waiter until I seen another waitress walking through the restaurant I waved her down like I was on the side of the road needing help at a bad accident because this was a complete train wreck we never got refills on our drinks The waiter never came back and asked us how our food was and I had to flag somebody else down to get our check I would highly recommend never going to this place read more

The waiter was great, his name was Sebastian. The 1 star was for the food. I had to cancel my appetizer because it took nearly 20 minutes to come out. I got the new chicken Parmesan. The noodles were dry, hard, and looked days old. I couldn't even eat them nevertheless feed them to my kid. My son got the chicken tenders and there was no chicken only the crust from the fryer. I'm not sure why but this location and the service was pretty bad. When my bf and I got to the restaurant there were three host at the host stand, and none of them greeted us, and it was actually very awkward. I didn't feel welcomed at all, it was very uncomfortable. They asked how many we had and took us to our table, and said nothing else. Mind you, they were very young, looked like teens but could be in their early 20s. I'm not sure why maybe improper training? But when I was their age I was excited to work and be good at my job, but that's just me I guess. The waitress seemed more interested in chatting with the host vs being attentive to us. Went here for my niece's B-day because she lives this place. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. We had a larger party (12people) and I think our waitress was inexperienced. The food was good the problem was they didn't bring all of our food at the same time half of our table got their food and the other half waited another 15 minutes before their food was brought to the table, after asking the waitress multiple times when our food was coming. The waitress never informed the manager of the problem and proceeded to tell us "it was beyond her control and she would make it right." Even after the rest of the table received their food we still had one person that had to wait an additional 10min for their plate. At the end of the meal the waitress brought our tickets and did not bother to discount anything for the poor experience. I had to ask for the manager at this point. I have this place 3 stars because the manager did try to make the situation right. Noah and Elise helped make us comfortable tonight. We got to talking with Noah about Alice in Wonderland while browsing to choose some of the winners from the menu. We got the fish tacos and the grilled chicken hatch salad. Our drinks were kept filled and we felt right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint with plenty of comfort food choices on the menu. The booth was clean and just the right dimensions for couple of ladies on a night out. The outdoor area is spacious with a good view and there is an interesting sculpture to greet you at the door. The portions are reasonably sized and filling. For a midweek visit, the restaurant was fairly busy, but still clean and friendly. For our sweet finish, Noah recommended the butter cake. If you love yourself, you'll try it too. While we wrapped up our to-go boxes, we mused with Elise over Sherlock and Harry Potter and lots of other things. We've decided we need to bring our whole crew of girlfriends to visit -- especially if either Noah and/or Elise will be there. We left with full bellies and high spirits. We tried this place out Sunday night, 04/30. The place seemed nice and full. It didn't take too long to get a table; however, thats about all that went right. We waited almost 40 minutes to get our food, and then most of it came out cold. We had: Chicken and dumplings, which were barely warm with cold mashed potatoes. One fork pot roast. The pot roast was cold as well as the mashed potatoes on this plate. Chicken fried chicken. The mac and cheese was cold. BLT. The fries were cold. We might give this place another shot in the future. The menu had a good selection. Maybe this was just a bad night as we observed other tables asking to speak to a manger and saw one table send their food back because it was wrong. Really wanted to like this place. I ordered curbside and my order was ready when it said it would be ready. The problem was my food was cold. I was even there a couple minutes early and was told they were still getting it ready, so I expected hot food. There was no cocktail sauce even though it was clearly stated on my receipt "cocktail". They are so severely understaffed that we sat for 45 minutes before being served. That is patently unacceptable, I don't care what your staffing problems are. Worse, there were only 5 other families in the restaurant--I counted them. 75% of the tables were empty. It's better not to be open than to put customers through this. I'll refrain from dining here again. Best to just close up shop until you have enough staff to actually cook and serve. read more

We ordered delivery from this location and our delivery driver even apologized, saying this location is always super slow. I could see on the app, that she drove straight from the restaurant to our house. However, the ice cream, with our kids' meals, was completely melted, and all the hot food was cold. Plus, we were completely missing two items. Very disappointing because we've had many people rave about Cotton Patch Cafe. I guess we know just not this location. Wish we had read the other reviews before we ordered. I don't see us ever ordering from this location again, or visiting in person. read more

This is a favorite of ours. My husband usually gets the meatloaf but I can never make up my mind as everything is super tasty. The alcoholic drinks are good, but they also have a variety of nonalcoholic choices, including raspberry and peach teas. The dinner rolls are so yummy and they'll bring you as many as your little heart desires. Tonight we had the special treat of being served by Melanie H. She introduced herself by saying it was her pleasure to take care of us tonight, and that was followed up by delightful service. She conversed with us in a way that made us feel welcome, was attentive without being intrusive, and informative about thour menu choices. She also anticipated our needs and got us refills (to go!) before we ever had to ask. We hardly ever get dessert here, but she made it sound so tempting, we took home coconut cream pie which she tantalizingly showed us before putting it in a bag at our table- there was sooo much pie!!! We will definitely be back to see Ms. Melanie!! Update: Because we have my elderly in-laws living with us, we have been having meals delivered, or picking them up instead of dining-in. Today we all ordered a meal- chicken fried steaks, shrimp, and catfish. Everything was delicious! In fact, my super-picky father-in-law, who always has something negative to say about his meal, had no complaints- a high compliment!! We have eaten at this establishment for years but on this day we had superb service from the waitress, Katie, who was very attentive and professional. Terrible service as soon as we walked in the door! If the restaurant has only 3 occupied tables and LOTS of open tables on a Sunday evening there's a red flag. After waiting for someone to acknowledge us at the host stand and they finally come over with a greet there's another red flag. She then tells us it will be around 10mins to seat us ....that was our final red flag to walk out and go strait to Longhorn Steakhouse to wait a true 5-10 mins and guarantee that the food & service will be very good. I'm not gonna lie, ever since I've become involved with Yelp, I left most chains behind. With that being said, apparently I've become quite a snob. My parents tend to usually eat at chains since that's what is readily available for the most part wayyy up north. My mom could sense my unenthusiastic response and proceeded in racking her brain to think of one of the few restaurants they've been to that I haven't been to. As we drove further north to Georgetown, neither one could even remember the name of the place which they had been to once before. Cotton Patch? All I could think of for some reason was Cabbage Patch Kids. I was skeptical at first...it was in the faaaar back of a huge shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised by this cute, quaint place! The outdoor patio is huge and fantastic. We sat out on the patio which overlooked a beautiful green scenery out to the west with nothing else in sight except the beautiful sun setting. Prices were excellent, portions were more than fair and our server was very attentive. The spinach artichoke dip was great and the tortilla chips were strangely addicting. I was feeling' the meat and ordered a 6oz. steak with grilled shrimp, which came with 2 sides for $9.99! They got my steak right and made it a perfect medium. They even have a healthy part of the menu which included how many calories, and basically brags about being the "skinny" version. Even my dad's potato, cheese & bacon soup was savory. I almost went with a burger because they sounded so delicious...so there will definitely be next time! If you're ever up in G-town, definitely eat here, its affordable and delicious and you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to schedule enough time to explore here, the Wolf Creek shopping center is vast and quite entertaining. I will never go back to this cotton patch they are gross! I ordered the fried shirm basket and the shimp came out barely fried and were not deveined! So I sent them back and when the waiter brought me the fresh one they were made the same and he told me that the cooks said they don't devein the shrimp which is disgusting and dirty. I order this at the temple location all the time and they are cleaned deveined and fried to perfection so the Georgetown location is a joke and I will never go back there. read more

Food is absolutely amazing, but the service we received left little to be desired. Staff seemed so demotivated and it showed in their service. From the get go, I felt like we were a bother to our server; she was too busy unjamming a stapler and taking to the other servers to pay attention to us. First she didn't fully explain when she changed my order that I would be getting LESS food and paying more for it. Then she always walked by the table when I was taking a sip of a drink and asked if I needed anything, but didn't stick around for me to swallow my drink and answer. My chicken fingers without fries and minimal BBQ sauce were very tasty, and the chicken and dumplings that are equivalent to a side of fries was even better! Definitely will give it another try, but would request a server that actually gave a damn. But then she tried to redeem herself and brought a extra spoon with the dessert, so there's that too. read more

It could be better if executed really well, but so-so menu combined with ok to bad execution means it's really not a great choice. Service 2/5 - uncaring and non-attentive servers.
