Anytime you present "All You Can Eat" (AYCE) to me, you will have my attention. I was told they have AYCE Catfish on fridays... I'll be there. Cadillac queso - tasty. Chips and salsa were both freshly made. The salsa is really tasty and I felt like putting it on everything. Catfish was freshly fried and came with hushpuppies, fries and 2 sides of your choosing. Nothing had an outstanding flavor. Catfish was fried decently...and if they added seasoning, would have been beyond enjoyable. Second batch came out with seasoning and earned them the 4th star. I just want to say that service, food and ambience was bad all the way around. Ordered coffee got watered down coffee that didn't even brew well, ordered chips and queso and queso was cold and watered down usually queso sauce is hot and as it gets cold it gets thicker well this was just water and never got thick and just cold. Main dishes took way too long to come out and the ribeyes were too dry no butter or anything. Don't waste your money it's just not worth it. read more

Only reason we went was because of a market coupon we got with an amazing burger on it. Well it comes to find out that burgers are not the food of choice here. The chef was yelling profanities while we were eating that the whole restaurant could hear, especially my children. Then when we finally got our food 30 minutes after sitting it was wrong. How do you put toast on a Avocado Burger? And the fries... Seasoned well but were so soggy even after I had them redo my order, which means changing the bread but not actually redoing the order. The Cotton patch Cafe located in Spring Texas has a great new manager that gives great care to the customers. The Restaurant is very clean, and the food is served fresh and hot. The waiters check to make sure all is good and if any refills are needed for their drinks. I do recommend their chicken fried steak and chicken dish. We had our Military Veterans club meeting as a lunch get together and we were well taken care of. We recommend Cotton Patch Cafe to all knowing you will love the food and service. They give large size amount of food in your orders. So, when you want a good meal to go to, Cotton Patch Cafe. Where do I start! First the positive: our waiter (Anthony) did his very best to take care of our needs drinks , taking our order etc. The food, our friend ordered Turkey and dressing, the turkey was undercooked to the "manager" came to our table looked/inspected the food before offering something else . Her sincerity is questionable , I felt it was though we had interrupted her just did not go over well with us. They brought out friends new dish out which was fair at best I ordered the fried flounder and fries, this by far was the most disgusting attempt at fried flounder I have tasted, the fish was mushy and was made to look like 3 BIG pieces; however The fish was very small i ( VERY LITTLE) in each portion. Each piece of battered fish was surrounded by a thick , very thick chunk of batter, a half inch on top and a thin line of fish with another half inch of batter in the bottom. I literally had to dig to find the fish which as previously noted was mushy. It was disgusting! It looked like a very nice restaurant on the outside, the inside also looked at last clean. I'm not sure what is up with the bad reviews but here was my experience: I walked in and got sat at the bar (so it was instant) then the sweetest bartender/waitress Shelby, came instantly and asked my order and recommended the chicken fried bacon and warned to only eat two pieces since I don't each much fried foods. Omg! Two pieces was so good and she immediately brought me a box so I could put it away and not forgo my meal Shelby has great personality! Then a short wait and I got some REALLY good chicken and dumplings. I really liked the cinnamon apples, I could have had a whole plate of that! Great music, great decor and great EXCELLENT service! Clean and Texas cabin feel. Very friendly staff greeted us immediately. I ordered fried green tomatoes as appetizer and the chicken fried chicken with salad, mashed potatoes and jalapeno gravy. Waitress was Kaylee and she offered rolls. Glad I said yes. They were made from scratch, fresh from the oven and like grandma made at Thanksgiving. Her service was as good as the food and peach tea that was also awesome. Wife had chicken and dumplings with salad and fried okra. She was very happy we chose Cotton Patch as well. I ordered delivery from uber eats. I was craving a homey, southern meal. I ordered their chicken fried chicken with white gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. The person delivering my meal was nice enough to text me they were out of garlic mash. I was bummed. I opted for the broccoli and rice casserole. The cheese was too soupy, and the side portions were small. The chicken fried chicken was a good portion, and the breading was flavorful and crispy. Mac and cheese tasted ok. Dinner roll was soft. Oh boy I saw the bad reviews about curbside and risked it for a pre Thanksgiving turkey dinner which they ran out of and didn't tell me until I got there. On the bright side, someone came out as soon as I pulled up but another five minutes went by until the manager came and told me no turkey and offered me meatloaf and all the same sides. Meatloaf because it was quick she said. I couldn't stomach meatloaf and stuffing and cranberry sauce so I said how about grilled chicken. She said sure but it'll take a while. I'm still sitting here 20 some minutes later. Well, it went from bad to worse. Finally got the bag and both sides as well as the cranberry sauce were missing and no bread. I basically paid $15 for a TV dinner. It was just stuffing and gravy with chicken on top. Not inedible but definitely not worth the price for what I thought I would get. And I was so looking forward to trying the baked squash :( The pumpkin crunch dessert was a mushy pile of pumpkin pie puree with pecans in it and some what appeared to be raw cake batter mixed in. I ordered the food through Door Dash, so this is really not a full review being that I didn't go in to check out the ambiance and service. But, I ordered fried mushrooms, fries and burgers for my kids. The fried mushrooms had pretty good flavor. They contained a lot of water of course so if you don't eat them right away it will get soggy. Fries had good flavor, but due to the wait of getting the food they weren't crispy. My kids enjoyed the burgers. One with cheese and one without. Oh also, I tried some queso dip.. pretty good and the sauce that goes with the fried mushrooms was pretty good too. read more

I've never had a good experience here... But three weeks ago takes the cake! I placed a to go order and picked everything up I should've known it was gonna go south when the girl that brought out my order told me they were out of rolls... It's the cotton patch... No cornbread either? So I get everything home my Caesar salad was nothing but old lettuce no croutons no cheese nothing... I had ordered a loaded baked potato... All I got was a potato Rolled in salt.. No butter no cheese no sour cream, ordered a piece of carrot cake for dessert it was like a mini bite of carrot cake that they charged a ridiculous amount of money for! Called and spoke to the manager cat and she said that she would be reversing the transaction since our order was basically wrong .. followed up three weeks later after no refund to our account. I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning. Didn't finish my meal. The waitress was kinda rude so I don't know if she was having a bad day. Never got a refill and every time we did ask for something we seemed like an inconvenience to the waitress and staff. The bathroom had piss on the floor so I had to aim like a water fountain to reach the urinal. Overall the experience was mid. My family of 5 was seated very promptly and the restaurant was clean. The waiter did come shortly after we were seated and took our drink order. We can tell that the waiter was new (which was fine). He forgot to leave straws and we did not receive any utensils. We had to ask for them when our appetizers came out. I do not recommend the Cheesy Bacon Fries, the plate itself is about 8 dollars. We were not empress; the plate looks like it was for an induvial size. (They look about the number of fries you would get when you order a small size from McDonalds). It was pathetic looking. My husband had to ask for the rolls that they bring to the table. The food itself was not bad. The kids waited an extra 5 minutes while a new batch of mac n cheese was being made. I went here for my grandmas birthday as a nice home cooked meal sort of thing and i was disappointed unfortunately, for instant they have a teen or child working as a server so she refused to have us order any alcohol. Then i could hear the manager screaming in the back near food saying how we should realize she is underage and can't serve alcohol which it's like OK? Then the manager should take into her own hands to serve us some? As for the food it was just meh very much meh. My wife and I have been Cotton Patch customer for over 20 years, and the Denison TX store for 15 years. Please understand that in general we love Cotton Patch. This review is specific to our recent deliver orders through Door Dash. This review is not a reflection on Door Dash is specific the how Cotton Patch is handling its delivery orders. For context, most descent restaurants have a person called an Expediter that is the final quality control check person that makes sure your order is plated up right and matched your order ticket before the server brings your order to the table for you to enjoy. Cotton Patch has someone that does this task for dine-in orders. However, they do NOT have a proper Expediter watching over delivery and pick-up orders. EVERY order we have placed with Cotton Patch, through Door Dash, in the past 2 years has had something wrong with it. The errors have ranged from small things like not getting out rolls and butter that come with all entrees, to missing ice cream that come with some desert items, to desert item that are suppose to be warm (or at least thawed to room temp) arriving frozen solid as a hockey puck, to entrees they were not what we ordered at all, to missing side and even missing entrees altogether. Door Dash has been kind enough to offer a few refund as have been appropriate. I have called and spoken to the managers on duty at the Denison TX Cotton Patch every time. They have confirmed that they do not have an actual Expediter working delivery and pick-up orders. They only have 'the girl working the pick-up orders' who was 'suppose to check the order before it left.' Cotton Patch has offered to send us coupons for free meals to use in-store. We have refused and stated that we simply want to problem fixed so that we can have a reasonable and reliable expectation that an order will arrive the way we ordered it. The food was pretty good this time around. The corn bread was sweet and filled with corn kernels. The butter doesn't add much flavor. The chicken fried steak was hot and crunchy. The broccoli rice casserole tastes like usual broccoli rice casserole. The baked squash was different than usual. It was soft, but the outside was also dry. So I was looking for something new on Uber Eats, but this was disappointing. It's not worth the prices. The skillet cornbread was burnt and hard. The 6oz. Sirloin was not well done, like requested. The grilled tenders were but I requested two flavors, only got one. The brisket street tacos did not come with the queso, salsa and guacamole like it said it would. i ordered delivery, specifically a caesar salad with salmon for the protein. once it got here they totally skipped out on the $9 salmon.. i tried calling once but they picked up and then hung up the phone.. rude. i called again and this time the manager was pleasant, told me they were actually closed so i couldn't come pick up the fish and that i should keep the ticket and retrieve the salmon when they're open. i'm totally gonna do that because you're not about to rob me for $9 i ordered 30 min before closing, i get that it's annoying to serve customers before closing but i work hospitality too. there should be no excuse, and you should serve food right until closing. maybe double check orders next time, if it was something small i would've let it slide but this was the main part of the meal!! cmon read more

I was finally able to make it to Houston's 1st Cotton Patch location. I thought coming here would bring back a few memories from college, since I was lucky to have the original location in my college town where I dined frequently. I always thought the Nac location was lively and homey. However, the Spring location was anything but and instead the atmosphere was pretty dismal, dull and stale. Just visit and see what I mean. The food was decent, cfs was a good size, but the poor service will be remembered forever. Being seated was a chore. The hostess didn't seem to be doing a good job at all since I was the first party that arrived and then about 5-6 other parties showed up right afterward. All the parties were left at the front waiting unnecessarily for at least 15 minutes on a slow night. We could all see several tables open or needing to be cleaned, but nobody was wanting to clean the tables I guess. Finally someone came to assist her since she obviously didn't know how to seat guests. I always seem to get the best and brightest waiters when dining out. My waiter seemed new and unsure of himself. He tried to argue with me right from the beginning about the Monday night CFS special saying they weren't offering that promotion anymore. Not the best way to get brownie points from a paying customer. There were a few other awkward moments when he was either refilling my drink or asking to remove a plate. When he goes and gets the bill, unknowing to him, the computer automatically recognizes the date as a Monday and charges the correct pricing. The chicken fried steak was large and the breading wasn't too much like some other places. The meat pretty much comes to the edge all the way around. I will say the ends which were thinner were slightly overcooked and chewy. But overall, a good cfs. Sign up for the e-club and receive a free appetizer which can be used on your very 1st visit. I chose the deep-fried beef ribs, which were just alright. Not sure what I was thinking when ordering these. I asked for the jalapeno gravy for my cfs but they were out of it. I won't even go into detail about how the server never brought out any plates for the rolls or the appetizer. I guess he expected everyone to eat with their hands? All in all, I probably won't be back anytime soon. In fact, I recommend Neal's about 1/2 mile away for a better chicken fried steak. read more

Very good fresh food. My shrimps were moist and tender, fish was fried perfectly . Salad and chicken dumplings soup was very tasty. My husband love their meatloaf and potato soup . Ashley was very nice and checking on us all the time. We were there for lunch on 10-31-2022 The only thing I would like to suggest , to add less salt to the fish batter and shrimp , also if you can add a couple of lemon wedges to the fish platter will help in case fish is a little too salty ( it might be me , I tend not too add too much salt to my food) .
