Worst experience EVER!!!!!! Walked in only 2 other tables being used. We got 2 buffets. Went to fill our plates. I wanted some chicken livers. They looked really burnt but I picked 2 thst looked the best. I also got a chicken thigh. Went to the vegi's and there was 1 boiled red potato (small) I got that because I din;t want mashed potatoes. Got a cup of cream gravy and a roll. Stopped by the salad bar and got a few sliced beets. Sat down and decided to try a chicken liver. I put it in my mouth and I had to spit it out. IT WAS RANCID. I went up and asked if they could cook a few more. I was told NO becuase they were closing. I asked why we weren't told that when we paid and she just shrugged her shoulders and said The kitchen is closed, So I sat back down and tried the chicken thigh, I broke the skin and oil ran out. So needless to say I wiped it off and ate a few bites. The gravy was like water. My husband got up and asked if he could get a small cup (like they give you for the gravy) of peach cobbler since they were closing and the man said NO you eat here cannot take it out. In the meantime another couple came in and paid for 2 buffets and after they paid they were handed 2 takeout boxes and were told to take it home. Now I realize that today is the 4th of July. There was no sign on the door that said they were closing early and when we left the OPEN sign was still on. NEVER NEVER NEVER GO THERE. I hope I don't get sick from the food. I Love this place !!!!!!! Everything is always fresh and the buffet is always full and they have juiciest . crunchiest most delicious chicken . They have fried chicken , backed chicken , hot wings , fried fish and a whole bunch of side to choose from . This place is highly recommended ! This Hartz location was the best I've been to 3 years ago before I moved now it is the worse of any buffet I have ever been to and paying $16.99 plus tax for the food they serve is ridiculous. Very bad customer service, filthy restaurant, overpriced, all the food sucked and some tasted like leftovers reheated, fried foods tasted like very old cooking oil and had more breading than meat. Ketchup was watered down and fountain drinks had a bad taste. Everyone kept looking for ice cream they are supposed to have but containers were empty. The fried fish was different and the worst fish ever, they had it labeled some kind of Asian fish. I threw away more food than I ate. I was very disappointed and will never return to that location. You can eat much better food for less at a lot of good restaurants. read more

Extremely bad service, lady at the front was always giving us attitude for things that where missing and would take forever to refill. Food would still end of ping cold or soggy. They give you free items if you leave a 5 star review so many of them are actually faked. read more

Taste closer to homemade than any other in the city. Delicious, juicy, and also, if you take the skin off, the chicken still has a delicious flavor. Second, the buffet.... Good Lord! I love Hartz ! Me and My family have been coming to this Hartz Buffet for over 15 years, it's one of my favorite parts of coming home (I now live in Atlanta) The catfish/breaded southern fish is soooo yummy, we always get multiple plates with Lemons and tartar sauce if we're feeling saucy. Chicken tasted like it was cooked in old oil, and the pans were almost empty of chicken and fish. Had to keep asking them to put out more chicken. They are charging too much money to not keep the pans full and to serve chicken that is basically tasteless. As usual with this location all the vegetables were bland and tasteless. Only thing I liked was the bread pudding as they just put out a fresh pan and it was very tasty. Won't ever come back to this buffet as we did not enjoy our meals at all and feel like we wasted $30+ eating there when we could have had much better food elsewhere for that price. read more

After a long day of work I went in for the buffet. I only had 1 plate. I was so tired and after eating half asked if I could have a to go container for the 1 plate I ordered but didn't finish. The gentleman behind the counter said I would be charged 4.99 a pound. I explained I didn't want to add to my food I just wanted a small container to take what was left. Really good chicken and lots of it. Good sides and drinks. I have eaten there many times and have always found it clean and friendly.

Every time I come in here, the staff are so friendly, unlike a lot of other joints similar to this. The food always nice and hot and looks recently filled and fresh. The rolls are to die for and they always hook me up with a little extra chicken when I order to go. This is a great alternative when I am trying to find some food in Tomball and don't want the same old thing all the time. Keep it up, guys! read more

This is the only good hartz close to here. The buffet is always full and has a wide range of things like spaghetti, Swedish meatballs and of course classics like carrots, broccoli, and chicken both baked and fried. You won't always get the exact same options with every visit, but it makes it interesting. there seem to be two sets of staff which is a little confusing, and will now sound slightly racist maybe. There is a Asian staff which includes an older lady that just walks around telling everyone what to do and a few young adults that take orders. They will charge for your 2 year old because to her 2 and under means once they hit that 2 mark they pay. There is a Mexican team which will not charge for your 2 year old because to them 2 and under means as long as you are still 2 you are still free and not charge until your 3rd birthday. I have a really big family and sometimes we get together at the last min, so I don't have time to call in and get a table for 10, which in most cases would mean you are waiting forever. Here they just have lots of long tables already set up. there is tv in every corner, so if you are super picky about what your kids watch then you need to either find a tv close by that has something except able, or talk to the staff, sometimes they don't realize that there aren't kid options on the tv and they will change it. It's still a buffet, not made to order, so the food isn't going to be salted perfectly, or anything like that, but for the price and the variety I would say this place is a win. I come here all the time because my family is also super bad at choosing places to go because everyone wants something different. We all love comfort food and this is my kind of comfort, free ice cream too. DON't GO TO THE ONE ON THE CORNER OF 1960 and 249. YUCK, spend the extra time and gas and come up here. read more
