We just love a little Country Burger. They are conveniently located at 544/ Murphy next to PSA Murphy as well as close to home. I love the turkey burger and my kids love the chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers. The cheese fries are great, especially when ordered extra crispy. The service is fine and love the great big room to take a bunch of kiddos after sports! I would definitely recommend for a family or just a quick bite. It's nice to go to a burger place that is NOT a chain or a drive through. read more

I have been eating at Country Burger since I was a kid and the Dad started the first one on 14th Street in Plano. I now have grandkids and live in Sachse and have eaten at every location through the years and my wife and I love going to the Murphy location because the Son's have kept up Dad's quality throughout the years. Went here for lunch and was not too crazy about the flavor of the jalapeño burger. The meat tasted a bit gamey and the sweet potato fries tasted like cheap frozen fries you buy in bulk. A bit overpriced for the quality. read more

Oh man. I went here the other day for lunch with my wife, not knowing what to expect. Read some of the reviews and wasn't really impressed with what people had to say, but I thought I would try it out. The place was nice enough... country-ish looking. The people weren't really interested in helping us out, but they did and we eventually got our food. We got a couple of burgers, fries and some fried pickles. Warning, if you don't like soaking wet burgers, dont go here. Our burgers, buns and all, were DRENCHED in grease. I thought I was going to have a heart attack after the first bite. The fried pickles were ok, but I have had much better and the fries were mediocre. No wonder 9/10 of the people in there were pretty obese. I will never be going there again, but if you like a good old fashioned greasy burger, this might be the place for you. read more

I think this place is fantastic! I have been eating here since I was in middle school, when they were located at 15th and Custer. I'm glad they relocated because it seems they do 10 times the business now. I think their burgers are pretty darn good, not the best I ever had, but good, and their loaded cheese fries are great!! Even their shakes are great! And they have really good ranch too. LOL I will say its a bit pricey but hey, you get what you pay for. The wait time is a little long but at least you know you are getting it fresh. :-) And for me...its every bit worth the wait! Kudos to Country Burger!! read more

Well, my friend was spot-on with this one, (for a change) when recommending this burger joint. My family and I ate here on Friday night and it was kind of busy, though that didn't seem to slow down how quickly we got our food. We all got burgers and they were delicious. The booths are big and tables come with all the usual accoutrements; salt, pepper, a big bottle of squeeze ketchup, which we love; and a big roll of paper towels for the napkins. This is great! And the paper towels come in handy if you don't like juicy burgers and want to soak up any juice that comes with these big burgers. My family loved it and we'll be back. Looking over the other comments I will say we did meet Josh and he was very friendly. In addition, I have to add that I would rather eat his meat than something over at Whataburger. What a cute place inside with cool AC, and the food is very fresh; made to order. Yeah! However, the taste could be better. The hamburger patty is not seasoned at all, so totally flavorless. The meat is also very thin, which is actually OK with me, but some may find it too thin. Cooking was inconsistent with some areas of the patty more done than others. And, I would always like to see the condiment of choice (i.e., mayo, mustard, etc) on both buns - not just one. I don't like a dry sandwich. The french fries are pencil thin, making them a bit hard to chew and enjoy. This is a good place for a burger, but it's just average. At $13 for two burgers, shared fries and 2 drinks, I expect more. Good place, nice atmosphere and layout, cheeseburger very good, good condiments on it. Fries were good, hot. Staff was friendly, order took maybe 5 min and they were very busy from a car show in parking lot. First time to Country Burger. The burger was very greasy but it tasted good. The fries were thin and reminded me of fries from a fast food place like McDonald's or Jack in the Box not like the ones they serve a Mooyah Burger. I really don't understand why people like this place so much? Service was great and decent atmosphere, but the two times I've been here the burgers are just sad like they depress me with how bland they are. First time I had to drown my burger in hot sauce just to feel somewhat satisfied. I feel they don't use good beef and I felt the fries were nothing special either. Its whataburger and home grilled burgers in one delicious package. If you live in Texas, you eat burgers, bbq and tacos. I wish there was less than 1 star. I live in Murphy, so I visit local restaurants to generate tax revenue for my city. For my nieces birthday, I took my three children, niece and my wife to this Country Burger. This was my first time to Country Burger. The guy on the counter was not happy for us to be there. When we were inside, we were the only ones at 8.00PM on Wednesday. That should have been a signal for me to get out of there. Anyway, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. I couldn't differentiate this Burger from any other fast food restaurant. I have to admit that their Onion Ring is so far the best I ever had. I'm a little surprised by the poor reviews. I've been eating at Country Burger since the early 90's. I remember when someone tried to add drive through service at the east Plano location by driving through the front of the building. I was thrilled when they opened a location in Murphy. I suspect the poor reviews are more a reaction to the high prices than to the quality of the food. Country Burger makes a wicked burger, but you have to understand the type of burger you're going to get. Country Burger makes a big grease ball monster cheese burger. You'll have grease soaking through the wrapper, the brown paper bag, and your car seats. After all of that grease leakage, there is still enough to run down your chin and ruin your favorite shirt. That's the kind of burger you get from Country Burger. I love them. The fries at country burger are crap. I'd recommend the onion rings instead. The service is hit or miss, and they are definitely a bit pricey. While they do make a great burger, I'm not willing to pay $10 for the double double combo very often. I remember when that combo was under $5.00 (It's been a while). read more

Call it Mexico Burger. Univision soccer on the TV, loud male and female Spanish speaking in the kitchen. Acted like we were insane when we asked for cheddar fries with sweet potato fries instead of regular, then the cook actually made a 'bleackk!' Face when he saw the order. Nice. Chicken fried steak sandwich tasted like it came from Dairy Queen and was super thin and dry. Tasteless. Onion rings were crispy but almost too crispy and had almost no onion inside.
