I have removed the pic of what I believed to be a giant bag of hamburger meat since the manager explained it was bacon bits being warmed. It appeared to be giant bag of hamburger meat and I suggest it be moved out of site before someone else has the same misconception. I can say I have eaten at the 14th street location in Plano for 40+ years now. Never a bad experience! Anytime I have friends/guests come in from out of town, Country Burger is always a go to!! Well, the family and I really wanted CB today (Sunday) but realized the 14th street location is closed on Sundays (whhhyyyyyyyyyy Plano?). But then I remembered the one in Murphy is open. This would be my first visit there.... All I can say is, it was the BEST burger I have had at CB. We walked in around 12:30. They weren't extremely busy so we figured we lucked out. Ordered our food and found a table. Once we got our food and buried into it, we started to notice more noise and people coming in. It was not 10 minutes after that there were people lined up out the door and the noise coming from a busy restaurant. We LOVED it!! I went to the counter for a couple request for extras and was helped out with a smile and a thank you! Loved our experience there today! The burgers aren't greasy, but the tomatoes and lettuce add a bit of moisture so it might seem that way. I eat here several times a month, and have for the past 3-4 years. Don't get me wrong there burgers are the bomb also! I've tried all of there burgers and they are all good! It is a very nice environment with country music rolling and TV screens to watch sports! I love the booths they have! They also have high top tables and a separate room for huge parties! Surprisingly the crispy and grilled chicken salad is really good! Tried this place for the the first time the other day and it is a cute little place with booths and tables set up. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzard to let you know when the food is ready. This place is byob too which is pretty nice. I got the country cheeseburger and large onion rings. The cheeseburger was pretty good. The burger was juicy and came with chopped red onions. I love red onions. The onion rings were ok. It was a little more greasy than I would've liked and the portion was smaller than I expected. I had to peel off most of the batter when I ate it because it was too greasy. The service was ok and the place is kept clean. I would come back for the burger. read more

It was a burger, my bacon on the fat side. Fries weren't hot and they were on this side of limp. The atmosphere inside is fun. The high top table we sat at was sticky due to the lacquer so had to put paper towels now to put my arms on. My husband had the chicken fried steak. This was the kind you get in a high school cafeteria. So if your into that nostalgia you will like it. Not sure I would come back here but it was worth a shot. The staff were very friendly. Wow! I have lived in the area for 3 years and never bothered to go into Country Burger. I did today. The food is incredible! My husband had a burger that was juicy and the beef tasted yummy! I have to be honest and say the low Yelp ratings prevented me from trying this place with my wife. Since she was out of town I thought I would give it a shot. My thinking was if they have been in business since 1973 they have to be doing something right. I entered and noticed the place was very clean. Since I had not been there before, it was nice to see a menu on the wall that I could look over before I got to the counter. I decided on the grilled chicken salad. The cashier was friendly and efficient and my salad arrived at my table in just a few minutes. Everything on the salad was very good and based on that I would come back and try some of the other menu items. I like "one off" places and this one seems to do a good job. I was driving down Custer in Plano and happened upon Country Burger and immediately pulled my vehicle over. It had been over 8 years since I last visited and, honestly I had forgotten all about this place but I knew I had to add it to my growing burger list. I'm glad I did. It was noon on a Saturday and the joint was only a third full. Considering that the building had aged worse than me and seemed destined to fall apart at any point, did not make me enthusiastic about my meal. I order a chili cheese burger and onion rings, which provided a belly full of fast food goodness. The burgers are 1/3 pound but then and small Frisbee size. They are seasoned nicely and hold up well to the bun and fix-ins. Personally, I am a fan of a thicker burger but based on the hamburger meat, I think this incarnation is just fine. I saw several people order doubles but I wouldn't recommend it. Some patties simply should not be too thick. A McDonald's quarter pounder is OK but double that meat and it is as gross as hell. The rings are better than average. They contains ample slices of onion and are fried to a golden crisp. Not the best but not the worst but I opted for them because I simply don't Iike the shoestring fries served at CB. Most meals are $7 or so and will keep you satisfied for a full 8 hours afterward. Apparently, management is aware of the building issue as they plan to move to Independence & Parker soon. In the meantime, stop by CB and buy a burger and help them fund the move. You might want to go to the bathroom elsewhere, though, because I've been to service stations in the middle of the desert that exude more confidence read more

My wife and I decided to give Country Burger in Murphy a try. Our burgers were horrible. You know how you can tell if a burger is great or not? BEFORE you load it down with dressings and sauces and vegetables, JUST TASTE THE MEAT. If the meat tastes bad, then it's NOT a tasty burger! What you are enjoying is the condiments, NOT the burger! Sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie if you put enough spices and whipped cream on it, but that doesn't mean the sewer rat tastes good! If you have to load a burger up with condiments before it is edible, your definition of a good burger is flawed. That said, the woman at the register did let me downgrade to a chicken sandwich, and let my wife get a grilled cheese. The chicken sandwich was bad - again, just tasting the meat (That's what she said) So my wife and I shared the grilled cheese and French fries. Cons: Burger meat tasted bad. Not as in bland, but as in spoiled. (They told me they have fresh meat daily, so I don't know why it tasted spoiled) The chicken meat tasted bland, like chewing water. Pros: The staff were nice The restaurant was very clean The condiments bar was clean and the produce looked fresh The grilled cheese sandwich was very good I liked their French fries, and I generally don't pay much attention to fries. I consider this a Plano icon.... I was very happy when Country Burger opened in Murphy. It is what it is.... a place you can sit down and eat a good burger. The burgers are good, the fries are good.....but neither are good for you.....and they aren't supposed to be. I find some people are put off by the "grease" level. I give these guys a high rating because in my experience, the quality of their burgers is fantastic. My wife & I usually order one and split it because they're so large. We particularly love the new Sweet Potato Fries. I've been a big fan of Country Burger for 30 years here in the Plano area and while I don't eat out much, the few times I want a burger, I go there. I have to say, I used to think that Chili's burgers were fantastic, they're horrible anymore. I went to In & Out burger, I know I'm going to get a fuss over this statement... My girl and I stopped in while out riding in Wylie. Good curb appeal from the outside. The place is lauded out a little funny but is pretty good size inside. They have a meeting room. The place is clean. The people that work there are not very friendly and had a hard time taking a simple order. I would not say don't go but I'm not sure I would ever crave this place. read more

Country Burger is simply the best burger in town. I have grown up on the amazing stuff they whip up at CB (at the other Plano locations) and whether you're In the mood for one of their massive burgers, cheddar fries or something lighter like grilled chicken breast you will NO WAY you'll be disappointed! Sure JC's is a close second as far as local burgers but there's just no substitute for a Double Double from CB. They also have amazing milkshakes. We just love a little Country Burger. They are conveniently located at 544/ Murphy next to PSA Murphy as well as close to home. I love the turkey burger and my kids love the chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers. The cheese fries are great, especially when ordered extra crispy. The service is fine and love the great big room to take a bunch of kiddos after sports! I would definitely recommend for a family or just a quick bite.
