I am in love with country donuts! The flavors are so delicious and you can taste the freshness. The lattes are great too! I had their cherry filled chocolate frosted donut which was generously filled, a chocolate glazed, and a lemon cake old fashioned. All were delicious! I also had a white chocolate pecan cookie which was amazing, big and chewy and sweet. Excited to visit many more times and try many more flavors. The prices are cheaper than most coffee/donuts shops. Great way to start my morning, I don't know one person that doesn't like country donuts.

Got these for my daughter's 5th birthday for breakfast (at her request) and they were SO good! More flavor options than Dunkin' Donuts for sure. And I know donuts are sweet, but the only reason I'm giving 4 starts (more like 4.5) instead of 5, is because these were just a little *too* sweet. As crazy as that sounds. But they were very good. This is our first time here. It's a cute place, with a long counter and barstools, plus a few tables and chairs. It's very clean and the employees are super nice. I had to get 3 dozen and they were for young girls, my husband told them to mix them and they pretty much gave us all the ones other people weren't buying and none of the girls liked them. This place harkens back to my childhood. A simpler time when doughnuts were made fresh each day in house. Where day old doughnuts were cheap as heck, sadly day old doughnuts are still better than the crap dunkin is pushing. Well this appears to be that place in 2021. They don't sell the air filled krappy creams, and they don't sell 10.00 designer doughnuts. Just plan old fresh made doughnuts. The coffe is pretty solid as well. I have been to the crystal Lake location a number of times. I was at the Elgin location for the first time today. I have always found the prices to be reasonable and the product to be fresher than Dunkin Donuts. The donuts at Country Donuts are not the world's greatest but they are a good value. I had a vanilla Long John today and the vanilla frosting was not very good but it was fresh and sticky and moist and that made the flavor not as much of an issue. The donut itself was light and moist and fresh. What I find best about Country Donuts is the customer service. Every time I visit, the high school kids and older ladies are always very friendly and very customer service focused. That goes a long way in my book and that's why I continue to come back. read more

This place is a little gem! My husband and I are moving to the area and have driven past Country Donuts several times. We were in the area early this morning and decided to stop in. The drive through was getting a lot of action so we went inside and waited in line. There were about 6 people in front of us and it only took about 5 minutes for them to get to us. We decided to try several different donuts since it was our first time. The pumpkin glazed donut was amazing. It was so moist and still warm. The vanilla long John was also amazing and the butter crunch was good but a little messy. The donuts are made right there onsite and there were several people working very hard to keep things moving both in the front and in the back. I have to say, I was very impressed and the donuts were so cheap! Coming from the city where donuts are several dollars a piece, $1/donut is awesome. Granted, they're smaller and not as fancy but they were SO good. If you're in the area I would definitely swing by and grab at least a half dozen! read more

The donuts are on the smaller size, and at 7:30pm, the quality wasn't tip top fresh, but one shouldn't expect it either at that hour.
