Good fresh food, very clean restaurant, and good waitresses. It's worth stopping here. Lots of parking for RV's and semi trucks.

Country Pride Restaurant is pretty good for a truck stop. They have yummy food with a selection of a little bit of everything- breakfast served all day; they also have chocolates and taffy and a few other snacks at checkout. Our waitress was super nice and had good service. They have really good flavored lemonades and iced teas too (seasonal). I had the Jalapeño burger and was super good and filling- 2 patties, bacon, pepper jack cheese, Arizona sauce and deep fried jalapeños - HELL YES. It's at the TA stop just off the freeway at exit 17 in Troutdale, so it can be very busy with travelers and truckers, but really wasn't that bad- restaurant was pretty empty; they also have a salad buffet that we had our eye on, but did not get to try! We got some chocolates to go though :)

I give Country Pride Restaurant one star for the customer service, which was pleasant. One star is for the simple fact that they had food at all. To lay down even another star for food is beyond my ability to look on the bright side. The Sharie's next door would have had better food, the McDonald's as well and whatever I could put in my microwave at home. I am a truckers daughter and I cannot believe TA would have such a sorrowful restaurant. I associate truck stops with homemade country cooking. We tried the Salad Bar, the Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza, and a kiddos Mac&Cheese. The lettuce for the salad was almost gone with no efforts to replenish in over twenty minutes. It was sitting in water. I do not like wet salad. A few of the topping were out and the croutons were stale rocks. If you have ever had a Totinos Pizza from the frozen pizza section at your store, you know how bad they are. They taste better than the flatbread pizza. The sauce was sour. It was unpleasant. The kiddos Mac& Cheese was a Kraft clone. Overall the quality was bad. The prices were simply too high and did not come close to matching the low quality of the food.

Country Fried Steak - hashbrowns, eggs and biscuit were great. Fried steak was way salty.

Where to begin.... We showed up on a Sunday at about 10am - asked the front desk cashier if we seat ourselves, she said "if you can find a clean spot". Given there were 5 of us we did not want to sit in a booth but all the tables were dirty and did not see anyone bussing them. We told the lady that we would wait for a table to be cleared off. Thinking she would start doing that - nothing. We went and used the restroom and still nothing cleared. We then began clearning a table ourselves! Noone jumped in or even apologized! It took nearly 15min after sitting at a dirty table before anyone even came to wipe it and give us menus! Waitress said she just got on the clock and apologized for wait. Can it get better from here? Nope... Ordered our food and everyones food at our table came out except mine. Waitress asked me again what I ordered - ran to the back and then informed us that she forgot to put my ticket in! She asked the chef to rush it and by the time it actually came out - everyone else in my group was done! Food was very good overall - except the Country Fried Steak was SUPER salty. But our overall experience left a super sour taste in my mouth. Do not think I will return unless a group forces me too. I still cannot believe the rest of the group still tipped after this performance (why does tipping seem so OBLIGATED?!?! In my opinion it should be based off service!).

Truck stops always have great restaurants.

Horrible food, horrible service. The ironic part is that they have table tents saying how wonderful their service is.

My sister and I decided to split it, and the restaurant went above and beyond by plating it on two separate plates for us. The photos show our individual portions--and that's only half each! It really shows how generous the serving size is. The service was excellent, and our server was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a steakhouse: comfortable, welcoming, and not too loud, making it easy to enjoy dinner and conversation. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we really appreciated the extra touch of splitting the meal for us. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

I would prefer something a little bit more done. But their steaks definitely do not disappoint. I have been to other steak houses in the Portland area. Roots beats other famous Portland steak houses by their flavor, tenderness, service, atmosphere and portion size. However, their menu items are quite pricey. My steak was nicely cooked and seasoned. The mashed potato and veggies were excellent. They topped the steak with couple pickled onion rings which was quite refreshing. And don't forget the garlic infused butter served with the steak. It was wonderful. I had my wedge salad while my husband had their soup of the day. It was a big salad which Ai appreciate. The blue cheese crumbles and salad dressing was fantastic. The chocolate mousse dessert was a piece of art. It was quite big and can be easily shared with another person. The atmosphere inside was nice and modern in a warm sense. The servers were very attentive. I am not sure what brand of root beer do they serve but it was very good.

I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with no sauce. When it showed up at my door it was completely saturated in sauce and the wax paper they used to separate the cheese slices was grilled into my sandwich. Accidents happen however this shows me that they need to pay more attention to detail when they are reading the order and when it is being prepared. I want to give this place a second chance but I'm definitely nervous to spend money again to have the same thing happen.

I ended up ordering Classic for a Reason while the wifey ordered A Cut Above, we also got a side of fries too. So food showed up in IHOP containers which I guess might be because they are new so maybe they don't have their own containers yet but whatever. Food is food!! Wifey liked her Cut Above sandwich while mine was just decent. I do wish mine had more than two pieces of cheese and it really didn't seem like the cheese was melted thoroughly. Fries were also kind of meh and also had to be the smallest serving of fries I've ever seen. I originally had this pinned as a 2 star review but I felt generous because maybe they are still trying to figure their stuff out. Perhaps if I had ordered something else I would be been a happy camper since their Cubano or High Standards sandwiches look good. I should have not ordered the most plain looking thing on the menu so next time will be something different!

We brought our water bottles, so we didn't have to buy any drinks, but the drinks look really good! They have a thorough beer, cider, wine, menu, and really cute frozen margs. Anyway, I was really happy with everything I ordered the sundae was so good! You can tell that they put a lot of care into the ingredients they make, like the macadamia-oat brittle was full of ingredients and brought a fun texture and a lot of flavors to the sundae. The chocolate magic shell had kind of coffee in it, which was a fun, tiny crunch and another good flavor. The Thai tea whip was the " cherry on top." I highly recommend adding the miso caramel sauce and Matcha magic shell! So yummy! Just as I said with the sundae, the sandwich and tomato also seemed to have quality ingredients. The tomato soup was delicious, but the flavor was gorgeous with the roasted tomatoes and chive oil, though a bit rich. I definitely finished it, but I do think that having some of my sister's grilled cheese to dip into it was more appropriate than eating it on its own. The sandwich I got had the softest milk bread and was just a classic deli sandwich, but you can tell that again, they used quality ingredients. I felt like I got my money's worth for everything I paid for. The parking situation was great, we parked in the overflow lot across from the establishment. There was a five dollar charge, and if you show your receipt when returning to your vehicle, they gave you a refund. Waiting in line wasn't terrible, we waited maybe 15 minutes? The only thing is that they have a ramp leading to the patio and a long line is inevitable, and the ramp is narrow, so if somebody wants to pass through with a stroller or a wheelchair, everybody on the ramp has to move off to let them through. When we got up to the front to order, something happened with their system, and they had to pause orders for a couple minutes, which didn't bother me, but I could see how maybe that might bother someone else. Either way, they were very nice throughout the wait. There are a lot of people there seemingly throughout the day, and we had a group of five adults and four kids, but we were able to find a picnic table with enough room easily. The picnic tables are also nicely set up with good canopies and the table itself felt pretty clean Lots of Instagrammable foods and photos op spaces.

The situation is like this, they really don't have their own parking at all. You have to pay for parking at the nearby park which is also where the bathrooms are. However, you can skip all this by going through the drive through, but it is a bit chaotic as you try to follow all the signs on how to get into the drive through, but be extra careful as kids and adults are paying attention and walk into the drive thru lane without looking. Since there is a wait for the drive through, they are smart to have QR codes to look at the menu while you are in line. They do have done picnic table setups for sitting down but also some tables inside Sugarpine. I think we waited about 10 min on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't so bad of a wait. They do warn you that they serve a 20% service fee on top of your order. However, I don't understand why. I got no table service. Basically a guy took my order and handed me my ice cream cup. I usually give 20% for real table service. Not sure if this is one of those charges they use to give the employees certain benefits? It was unclear to me. I'll be honest, I was very disappointed in the soft serve offerings. It was chocolate or vanilla or a swirl but there was a plant based offered that is a little more which is a bit more interesting. We got one chocolate vanilla swirl and one blueberry ube kids cup (5 oz) The had coconut vanilla as well, but I did not try it. I paid my just over $10 charge which wasn't too bad, but since there is no place to eat these I drove into downtown Troutdale to Harlow Park where it is free to park and plenty of covered tables. While I enjoyed my soft serve, it wasn't really anything special to me that I couldn't find in other Portland locations. In fact, I've had better. I do appreciate the family run business and the local kids that work there, I think it is a great thing, but honestly toss lace seems best for a stop on the way back from a day at the Gorge, else I won't go out of my way for it. Nothing wrong with it as I said, it tasted fine, but it did t blow my mind either. I did not get to try their BBQ offerings so I can't speak for that but it did small good. I know that have $10 offerings for dessert that have toppings and such but for me the base or foundation of it all is more important to me.
