I've never been to this vet which makes this even more special with how they took care of me and my Reptar . I had scheduled a euthanasia and private cremation for my sweet senior boy who had cancer and wasn't going to make it through but he actually passed away at home with me the day of the appt . I just want to personally thank the kind staff who helped me carry my sweet boy from my car and was saying sorry the whole time :( I felt your sincerity truly and thank you . It takes about 2 weeks to receive the ashes back , I got them back in 11 days , I'm so happy to have him back home :( the staff were so patient answering my calls and questions , they let me see my sweet boy one more time before being sent off to cremation which they don't usually do but I didn't even get to say goodbye to him with how quick everything happened so they let me which I'm eternally grateful for to have that last bit of time with him :( I left pictures to be cremated with him and they set up all his pictures when I walked in to say my goodbyes and omg I criedddd ! So beyond thoughtful !!! Thank you all for your genuine kindness during this hell time for me . I can't tell you how much it was helpful while my was/is heart shattering . Thank you so much !!! We took our animals here for about 4 years. Dr. Singh is nice, as well as the staff…read more NOW FOR THE NEGATIVE: 1. Their prices are ridiculous!! 2. Many times we took our dogs in they wanted to do a "test." These tests cost money... a lot of times they would have to send them out for readings or results; of course at an extra cost!! By the time we left the bill would be exorbitantly expensive, like $350-500!!! Our furry baby in the picture below, Misty, was diagnosed with a heart murmur when we took her in for a UTI. They did an X-ray and she had bladder stones. Dr. Singh said she needed surgery and wanted to do it the next day. He did state that bcz of her weak heart the anesthesia would be tricky. He said she had a grade 4 heart murmur. He said they are graded on a scale of 3-10. I looked it up, as I was in the medical field for 30 years and found that canine heart murmurs grade from 1-4. If Misty had a grade 4, she was already in heart failure. Dr. Singh minimized the condition of her heart disease, in our opinion. He did the surgery, it took 2 hours. He put her on heart meds, then later he put her on Lasix (a water pill.) She died about 6 weeks later of congestive heart failure. In our opinion, Dr. Singh should have given us the option to put her on an antibiotic for the UTI, the heart med and the Lasix and wait and see how she did. Instead he immediately wanted to do risky surgery in a dog with a weak heart. We paid $5,000 for this operation. And $400 for a post-op visit! We no longer take our animals to Family Vet of Oakdale. Our new vet is great!! His office visit charge was $50. Family Vet of Oakdale charged $130. Enough said ......

I've been going to the Riverbank location for a while for my dog to get groomed. I decided to take…read moremy puppy and was told he would get a trim/bath and it would be between $40-$45 on my receipt it shows I paid $55 for the puppy and $55 for my other dog so I'm not to happy with the price for my puppy since I was told he wouldn't get a full groom. My older dog came out looking adorable as ever so I'm really glad for that because he's a rough outside dog so he was dirty. My puppy however came out looking funny and I'm so unhappy with whatever was done to his head and face. All I can do is laugh. Now I'm not sure if I should return because for $55 it was DEFINITELY not worth it. He looks scary almost. I'll post before and after pics of my pup just to show what I mean.

He takes his time with you and explaines what he is doing. Also he doesn't mind you getting in there with him and getting dirty. I have a lot of crazy memories with him and the horses. It always amazes me what trouble they can get into. He never made me feel like I didn't know what the heck I was doing, even though he could have. I'm not the most knowledgeable horse woman. I feel like I can call on him anytime of day and he will respond with a phone call or text. He had to help me make a very, very hard decision January 3rd to put my horse down that I've had for 15 years. She was my one in a million horse, I'm sure I'll never find another one like her. Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

Following a minor miscommunication regarding pricing from other staff members, an older employee became confrontational and began calling my husband names being racist to him!!. She even went as far as making inappropriate comments about our family and children. Regardless of any misunderstanding, there is never an excuse for staff to speak to clients in such a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. Instead of addressing the situation professionally and taking accountability for the confusion, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable. We entrusted this facility with the care of our pet and expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic to others who expect professionalism, respectful communication, and accountability from veterinary staff.

My Bella, my rescue terrier, now 14 years old developed a left eye infection. I have had a…read moreprevious outstanding experience with Dr Singh's unbelievable surgical talent . He once put back together our cat, Sissy, she got run over. The x-rays were just heartbreaking. She had 13 fractures most of which needed hardware fixation. I could not believe it could be done, but very amazingly, he put her all back together. Sissy was up and and returned to her normal sassy self . She was running around again in 2-3 weeks. Last week he got a foxtail out of my Bella ( 14 years old Terrier), just with local anesthesia. He even did a fluorescence exam of her eye to make sure there was no corneal ulcer. Dr Singh and staff explained all costs before taking Bella back. I know he could've opted to say she needed a general anesthesia and labs, but he wanted to put her through as little as possible given her age, not to mention the added cost that would be involved. The staff all loved on my Bella. Miss Bella, instead of wanting to go back to the car outside, was pulling me back to the surgical area, almost like she wanted to say bye and thank you to the entire team. Dr. Singh and everyone was so gentle. Knowing Bella's sweet nature, and everybody's compassion, i'm not surprised , because at this age, she usually never wants to leave my side. I work in healthcare and after 30 years, believe me I can instantly "smell" the difference between humane and ethical care versus profit as the more important interest. Through the life cycles of five different pets, I am eternally greatful to Dr. Singh and his staff for being that " Diamond in the rough," especially at a time when a profit mentality is taking over both the human and animal healthcare industry. In summary, he is a fantastic doctor with a fantastic team.
