The chicken and waffles here at Country Waffles is the BEST by far. The waffles here are cakes, thick, rich tasting with a crispy outer layer. The butter they serve is whipped and salted so it gives off this great flavor of savory goodness. Their syrup is served hot and inside clear cups. The syrup is thin but rich tasting. It's the best waffles period and to my liking. I really enjoyed their crispy fried chicken as well. Their chicken is not only big in size but fried perfectly. The skin is dunked in this thick batter and has lots of crunch to it with every bite. It's the definition of crispy. Most places I go to, their chicken is thin, small, or too dry. The waffles at the other spots are thin and flimsy so they break easy. Not here. Country Waffles serves up the best. Their service is excellent with the employees being super friendly and professional. They come around frequently making sure our coffees are poured up and making sure our food is ok. My wife and I found a gold mine for chicken and waffles and it's so close to home. Can't wait to come back again and try their other breakfast items. I hope it's as good as our orders today. I stopped by on a Sunday morning and it was busy as was expected. The hostess quickly sat me down and provided me with a menu. The interior is straight out of a 90s diner to include fake flowers hanging from the ceiling. The menus themselves may be from the 90s as well as they felt sticky and were held together by painters tape. The coffee was your average diner coffee, which isn't a bad thing but suffice to say nothing special about it. I received the Swedish pancake and an order of French toast. There had been a mistake as I had not ordered French toast. The waitress was quick to address the issue and was able to get me the correct order. The Swedish pancake was a bit soggy however the taste was delightful. The strawberries, whipped cream and Swedish pancake were the perfect combination. The chicken fried steak was perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining tender on the inside. They added a perfect amount of gravy on top. Their gravy is nothing fancy seems to be just canned gravy, but overall not terrible. The hash browns were fairly crispy and the scrambled eggs were well cooked. Okay, let's start with initial greeting through the door.... There wasn't one, walking into this establishment was very unwelcoming to say the least. And, before the naysayers chime in no, they were not busy there were a total of 4 tables with customers while the rest of the establishment was empty. The diner manager, cook and line worker looked up but didn't say anything at all. Now, my waitress was AMAZING ugh, I wish I can remember her name but, she did a fantastic job despite the fact that she works around a bunch of negative entities that are her co-workers. You were cheery and very attentive and even apologized for not having pork alternatives! The ambiance of the place is that of a regular diner just slightly above Denny's but, I cannot stress enough how amazing the waitress was. I unfortunately, won't be back to this place but, to the waitress YOU deserve better than your current work environment! Please, move on to something better! My go to is a half waffle combo with hashbrowns. Seriously the best, crispiest waffle I can get in the area without making them myself. My spouse likes their apple bacon chedder waffle which is a unique somewhat savory waffle. They also make chicken and waffles which are pretty good but I think the chicken could have a bigger kick of flavor. Eggs are a huge plus here. They have always been cooked correctly, I prefer poached or over easy and they have always been perfection. My spouse is extremely picky on eggs and we really appreciate the correct cook so that my husband doesn't have issues with them. Please don't blame COVID for the horrible service and quality of food. We waited 20 mins for our waitress to take our order. The restaurant was not busy, there were many open tables. Given this is their specialty. He then ordered chicken fried steak with country fried potatoes and pancakes. I didn't take a pic of his dish b/c at this point I just don't want to eat anymore. His pancake did not come with the order. His potato was BLACK BURNED. I tried to get our waitress attention one more time to ask about our missing pancakes and of course she's nowhere to be found. The waffles were lukewarm and lacked flavor. I received a skillet breakfast that only for half of the skillet that it was serves in. I was looking for something good but I struggle to find it.
