Mike can do what other electricians can't. I need to replace a faulty GFCI. thought it's an easy job that I could DIY. Unfortunately I found out the bottom part of the outlet was blocked by granite backsplash. Before contacting courtesy electric I contacted two other electricians and sent a photo of the GFCI, but both of them said they couldn't do the job. I called Mike and explained the situation, he said he could pull the GFCI out. He showed up at my door after 30 minutes. He reworked the opening on the wall to pull it up a little bit, and installed the new GFCI. Mike is very professional and friendly. Scheduled a quote time on 10 to 12 Monday, but I have to work out of home. He just gave 10 mins window for me to be at home before arrival. I left soon to home after got the call. When I am at home 11:38, he was already gone, then I made a call back, no one answered. Later he said he just knocked the door and saw my parent who obviously doesn't know English said no thanks. Then he left immediately at 11:36 without leaving any messages and didn't make any call to me to confirm. He can't even wait for 2 mins or make a call to confirm. Mike was amazing. After less than satisfactory experiences with some other electricians, working with Mike was a breath of fresh air. I need to do a main panel replacement (200A) at our house with a permit, plus a couple of smaller items around the house. Mike came by and gave a free estimate (very uncommon from my experience). Following a power surge towards the end of October, 2019, several circuit breakers, and appliances went dead (fried). PG & E sent a technician who turned back partial power (110V) and told me to get the panel behind the meter fixed. Tried to contact several recommended electricians but Courtesy Electric came through. Mike gave me two estimates - one for a total replacement of the old (1960's) panel with a new one and one for replacing the AWG and feeders. I opted for the latter, for the time being. Mike was prompt in attending to this - knowing that my power would be turned off if I didn't address this within a few days. Great service, prompt, and very personable. I called Mike this afternoon to make an appointment because one of our circuit breakers appeared to have blown. He called back quickly and made an appointment and asked me to text him my info. After me texting the info, I discovered another issue and added this info to the text and he called me back within minutes and walked my husband through the proper way to reset the breakers in our very old breaker box. I called him (he answered right away) as we had a Nest thermostat that had suddenly lost power. I was expecting him to have to come by, but instead he asked a few questions, and surmised that chances are there was disconnect between the furnace and thermostat. Lo and behold -- I went to our furnace and noticed that the switch had been turned off! After switching it on, the Nest powered right back up. Mind = blown. As if that wasn't enough, I mentioned that a couple of our downstairs smoke alarms weren't getting power either -- again, he asked a couple of questions and imparted generous wisdom, sharing what he thought the likely culprit was and what to consider trying. I have no doubt what he suggested is going to work for our situation. After this, he wished me a good day and off he likely went to his next happy customer.
