Cousin Vinny's offers decently priced pizzas that are decent tasting. I ordered a taco pizza, the boss and a veggie. The taco pizza was decent, but nothing at all like the pic or what i was expecting. The veggie was ok, a little bland. The boss was good, but the bbq sauce was so sweet. I ordered takeout on the app and it reported my pizza was ready for pickup, but when i arrived, one was still finishing up. The app also defaults to a 20% tip for carryout, which is the lowest option. They actually have a 40% option? The staff were as friendly as you would expect and the place also looked like you would imagine. Cousin Vinny's is a decent pizza place. Easily one of the top five pizza places in all of Columbus. I don't think there's a shop within a 30 minute drive of campus that I haven't eaten at, and Cousin Vinny's has always been a highlight experience. Good prices, good portions, excellent taste. This is pizza at its best. read more

Sad to say this place is a 3/5 stars from me. I ordered a small pepp pizza with half banana peppers. Really nice that you can do that! I also added a side of garlic sauce. Not the best. I must say that I did not even get to try the pizza. Why would you have a contest to win a pizza when your service is this bad. The pizza shop suppose to open at 4:00 left at 4:15 still not open. The food was absolutely TERRIBLE. We ordered the hot, hot bbq, and Carolina gold wings. The sauces were all runny and had no flavor. The wings came on the side because this restaurant clearly knows their wing sauces SUCK ASS. The wings were so small and tasted nasty. They were more like pigeon wings instead of chicken wings. I was introduced to Cousin Vinny's Pizza courtesy of Groupon. It also helps that they're next door to Kenny Road Market, which is literally my favorite beer store in town. My favorite thing about Cousin Vinny's is their breadsticks. They come with a copious amount of grated parmasean on top. Definitely recommended. It's probably neck to neck with Pizza Hut's breadsticks when it comes to the crown of chain pizza restaurant breadsticks. Definitely better than Papa Johns, Dominos, and Marcos breadsticks. In terms of their pizzas, they're ok. Their price is on the lower side, so the cost performance is definitely high. But do they make my favorite pizza? That would be a no. If you're on a budget but want pizza that's better than Little Caesars... that's in my opinion where Cousin Vinny's fits in. read more

Pizza was amazing! The worker's were very sweet and had my food hot and ready but the owner on the other hand was the most disgusting and disrespectful man I've ever came across. Stopped here per my husband's request since he's on a mission to try all the decent pizza places in Columbus area. The pizza was just ok since it was pretty basic but nothing really more. We were able to get a large pizza for $7 since the girl on the phone wasn't able to figure out how to enter another deal that they offered on their website (I think it was something like a large pizza and 2L soda for $9ish). That was fine by me since I hardly drink soda. I didn't get the sense that they were taking extra measures to promote safety in the face of COVID. Didn't see employees wearing masks, no hand sanitizer available, a shared pen for all customers (luckily had my own to use), and no social distancing rules. It's a tiny place...maybe at least try to limit it to 2 customers inside at once...or something to suggest they're even remotely trying. That being said, it's been well over a month since I was here so hopefully things have changed by now. read more

I ordered the 14' meaty Hawaiian and half an order of their Caroline gold wings. I ordered through DoorDash and so when they got to me pretty cold, I didn't bat an eye, though I could feel neither item was hot through the container. I open them up and the pizza was the disappointment. I'll include pictures. But it literally looks like they threw on the pineapple as an after thought. Like there was no cheese binding it to the pie. And even then, it was sparse. Listen, if I wanted that, I'd open up a can of pineapple and throw it on myself. I've had other pies from them at a friends house and they were pretty good so I'm not sure if this is just particular to this type of pizza but it was nothing to write to anyone about. Wings were alright, 8/10 after sticking them in the oven for reheat. Might give this place another go. Not sure yet. read more

Soggy wings that weren't even as spicy as a Wendy's chicken sandwich, hard pizza bread, old dried out chicken on the Buffalo sub which was over cooked not spicy at all, pizza sub also over cooked. Little burnt pieces of cheese and other stuff stuck all over all three subs. Clean you oven out with a brush... The veggie sub was actually nice, other than the burnt pieces. When I moved to CBus I was sad about pizza. Tried the 'Ohio' square stuff from Donatos and a few other places. It made me sad, I wasn't looking for squares or a sickeningly sweet sauce. I missed east coast meets NY style pizza. I tried H.Dog's Smokin' Joes. It was on track but still not an 'I'd totally go back there' ranking. I'm super close Cousin Vinny's is right next door to Kenny Road Market- my fave place to seek out beer. So naturally getting beer one day we were like, let's get pizza! I had delivery, pickup, ordered online, called orders in, and any other possible way to procure a pizza from them. We've gotten pizza from CV's 10 plus times in the past year we have lived in Columbus. There's no other restaurant that I've been to/eaten at any where near a comparable number of times anywhere in Columbus. Suffice to say we think it's pretty freakin' good pizza. Their sauce is solid. Not overly acidic or sweet in the least. Most tomato based pizza sauce kills my stomach but not CV's sauce. It has yet to be super greasy. The fact that they use red onions is an entire star for me. That's what I like to see! Things that contribute to actual flavor in pizza! Plus there are some stellar pick up specials and there are always deals online. read more

My rating of 5 stars is based upon Columbus since real NY pizza is not possible without the correct water, flour, cheese, and fresh seasonings in a sauce that simmers for hours. That said, Vinny's did an admirable job. Don't worry about the specials. Get what you want for a pie and if it costs you a couple dollars more, it will be worth every penny. Pizza sauce is not easy to produce. I do not know if Vinny's makes their sauce or uses a supplier, but it is a good sauce. The toppings were fresh and the meats actually had flavor. The menu listed on the app does not line up to the actual menu of the restaurant. I ordered ham, pineapple, and bacon which I believe is listed as the American favorite ha d tossed on the app menu. When my order came I had pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom for my pizza. I called the restaurant and they said what I ordered "America's favorite" is what is on their actual menu at the restaurant. I had to call customer support to report the issue and all they did was refund my money. So I got a pizza no one wanted and had to throw away. It's the classic late night crave, you know the place, that you run to for a couple pies after last call and booted from the pub, when you are pump to extend the night not understanding the food/alcohol coma due to come after a slice or two. Vinny's is open until 4 am most nights. To find it go up Kenny after it splits from Godown in a sharp right hand curve going north, and goes by a desolate block of warehouses by the tracks. It is in the dusty buildings under rustbelt eroded signage to the eastern side of the road, next to Kenny Market. A part of the coalition of triangular cut pizza, a formulation that some swear can't be found in Columbus for some reason, Cousin Vinny makes a smooth pizza. What I mean by that is there formula isn't heavy on sauce, nor cheese, nor crust so your not overwhelmed by one aspect of the slice. I had a $8.99 two topping large deal and got onions with bacon. All the ingredients agreed with each other and was a nice whole. The sauce was delicious but not overbearing. Unlike some other places, it didn't have a bubbling greasiness that felt like it was eating the lining of my stomach, nor was the cheese piled so thick as to make me have regrets the next morning. Yet it still had flavor. It was smooth but not boring, not pop-jazz Kenny G smooth, but like Miles Davis smooth when he is playing the trumpet like Sunday Morning coffee. If you are picky about pizza, which from reviews of parlors about town indicates many are, take my advice with a grain of salt. I don't see pizza as some gourmet signature dish deserving of high taste criticism or applaud. To me its dorm room junk food, something to chow down when lazy or to satisfy a craving. If you are like me though try it. Cousin Vinny makes great pizza, at a nice price, and it doesn't make you feel the next morning like you drank gasoline. read more

This is my second time enjoying the pizza here. First time I got the Crimson Red (has potatoes so I had to try it) and then a custom four topping pizza. Both were really good, and I ate more then I could hold in one setting. Today I got a pickup special, large two topping (bacon, extra cheese) for $7.99, and since I yelped I was able to get a free 22 oz drink. The thin crust pizza is the better of the two crust offerings here. It's thin with the right about of crispiness to support the toppings, but not too crispy where it overpowers the flavor. My initial review of Cousin Vinny's was one star due to its claims of being 'late night' despite the employees repeatedly closing up to 2 hours before the posted time. Cousin Vinny's earned a revision from me since someone took the time to hear me out and promise better service going forward. However, I have not been able to actually EAT another Cousin Vinny's pizza since. Before this, I've had issues such as: employees ignoring the phone before answering with 'we're closed', being open late for once but leaving the front door locked shut when I was there to pick up in freezing temp. Tonight is the last straw unfortunately. Called at 2:20 to try and make a pickup order, pretty reasonable in my opinion given 15 minutes to make the pizza. Leaves 25 minutes to clean/close up shop. However, employee just ignored the phone for 10+ minutes. I am not sure what the problem is with this place. Maybe they need to have headsets so employees don't need to be at the phone to answer it, or more phones. However, I find it more than likely that as soon as there's no one watching, the night employee just mentally punches out. Still on the clock of course, just locking the door, ignoring the phone, and enjoying the easy money. The management promised better service but are still being taken for a ride: paying employees to work a late shift (to 4:00 at latest) but in actuality they just don't work past maybe 2:00 AM. All this is compounded by the fact that the place only opens at 4PM. If the place just used the working hours they're getting scammed on to open a little earlier it'd be an all right run of the mill pizza place, but they open later to try to facilitate being open late. All in all, Cousin Vinny's is a pretty good pizza at a pretty good price, and local to a lot of customers. However, ONLY consider trying to eat it in the daytime. Trying to get a Cousin Vinny's pizza late at night is like pulling teeth. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had at any pizza place. I have ordered here multiple times and have forgotten the sub par service and tried to seek to understand why they cannot figure out how to follow simple instructions. Then the manager who I talked to claimed to be the owner who can't understand how to train employees tried to blame me for his lack of training. Clearly this "owner" should take ownership of his business and own up to lack of training. This is a great learnlong opportunity for your company. Good Luck!
