We had a group of 10 people and everyone's meal was amazing. My favorites were the Mac and cheese, the wedge salad and the Brie cheese appt.

My husband and I stopped in for steak while passing through Toledo. Hubby ordered the prime rib with seafood, only to be told they were out of the prime rib, so he ordered the "1/4 lb scallops" for $18 to go on the side of his 12 oz house steak. The order comes with 2 scallops (yes only 2 for $18). The waitress could have given warning, which I think customary for the price point. I guess the "1/4 lb" that was advertised in the menu comes from all the rice they served it with. Not cool. The steaks were tasty, however I ordered my steak medium, and as all their steaks seem to come out it on a metal hot plate...it continues cooking and ended up well done mid way through my meal. The bread served as a complimentary appetizer is why there are 3 stars. Service not up to the price point. read more

Slow service, terrible drinks-twice failed at making a simple vodka martini, steak was tough, unseasoned and was previously frozen. Horrible for the signature steak! Home fries were burnt, tasteless, and inedible. However the shrimp cocktail was good. This used to be an upscale steakhouse with a good reputation. Well no more. Almost any Mexican or Italian joint will serve a better steak. Low quality food, poor service and a loss for what they are doing is the norm here. Toledo deserves better. read more

Huh. I never knew it was here but since I am not actually from Toledo there are a good number of places I probably don't know. This is over the bridge from downtown Toledo in Oregon. The first thing I thought when I walked in was old school. It's an older looking restaurant with dim lighting. I think my date thought it was romantic. I liked it. It is a little dated but nice and homey The service was very good. Just the right amount of attention. My date swears by all of the steaks. He had the 8-inch House special well done with baked potato and was very pleased. I had the pan fried chicken with baked potato and fried corn. It was average to maybe a little above average. The rolls that came out before the meal were good but not Texas Roadhouse good if you know what I mean. They had some interesting-looking appetizers that I might would go back for but I'm not in any hurry to return. Its far from my side of town. Came for dinner with a group and it was my first time here. What a cool place. The ambiance is old school for sure, but comforting and charming. The food is so good. The food is good ole comfort feeling food and just so tasty! Servers and staff were really good and friendly. Even the owner cane by our table to see how everything was. Nice touch! So disappointing.. started to go into dining room and hostess said no, we are only seating on the garden side. Not the atmosphere I looked forward to, lots of glass, bright, loud and club chairs that would be Ok for drinks & appetizers. We had reservations for 7pm, we were sat promptly however after that that's when things started slowing down drastically. Everything from our first drink, to our food. The service was very slow. We waited almost 45min for our dinner, and when it arrived it was not up to par. My chicken was in a plate full of greasy butter, it looked like it just was soaking in oil , my mashed potatoes were dense , flavorless , very hard to swallow. Our waitress never came back around to ask how our food was or even if we wanted another drink. We sat for a very long time just waiting for our check and then again for her to pick it up. The restaurant is in an industrial area. Although, the previous review mentions dated decor, the restaurant is older but not bad. The menu is good size. You can substitute sides and other items. The southern fried steak is awesome! Fried corn is awesome too. Western. Ohio staple, fired corn is prefect. The potato casserole is forgettable. Too much celery and not enough flavor. My family and I use to dine here frequently, but after my experience today we will no longer be back. We were getting ready to leave, and a server who didn't even wait on us asked if we could please pay better attention next time to our son (15 months) when he is eating spaghetti because of noodles that made it on to their new thousands of dollars carpet, and we can always request for them to put something down.I asked to speak to the manager on the way out, and he was a total jerk about the whole situation, saying, "while I have daughter at home that I clean-up after", so he basically insinuated my husband and I don't clean up after our children. Maybe they should remove these types of items from their kids menu if they are so worried about their new carpet. read more

Dined thereon 6/19/21 for first time in 15 years; it was not what I remembered. Potato casserole tasted as if celery salt had been spilled into it, and was covered by a curiously sweet "ranch" sauce. Husband called the reservation line to make a reservation about 15 - 20 minutes in advance as we were on our way on a Saturday night (first date night in a year!) and we were told we would be fine to walk in. He asked if we could make one anyway and she insisted we wouldn't need to. When we arrived we were told there would be a wait. He mentioned that he had called and and asked for a reservation for that exact reason and she said she couldn't help that the place filled up and we would have to wait 20 minutes. Been to many steakhouses across the states. Including peter lugers NYC & the very affordable Saylor's in Portland, OR Maybe this was an off night. Had extended talk w waitress about wanting steak crisp on outside (told her specifically did not want it black on outside) cold & red inside. But my porterhouse was charred black on outside & reddish pink on inside. Was tasteless. Had to cut away the charred parts. Greatly reducing my expensive steak. Did not send back. Wish I had. I am often here in summer. Saw before & again this year segment by local tv about dangers of eating charred meat. So the info is out there. Salad & potato casserole were good. $13 shrimp cocktail was 4 lonely shrimp. Very disappointing. read more

We had a reservation for Mother's Day for 1:30 still waited for 10 minutes or so! Waitress was quick and on the ball! Got our order of drinks ! Went for the buffet The line was rather long and stretched out into the other room! First off most of the salad items were missing only a few capese was Left! The steamed shrimp was plentiful then came the breakfast items they were wiped out too! Managed to get a crepes, the rest of the buffet was hit or miss the fried chicken was very good as was the ravioli and prime rib! Grandson got salmon from the menu and she scooped that up in a heartbeat! My Bloody Mary was very tasty but did have a a little sticker shock at the bill! Been over five years since last visit. So glad we came back. Service was always good. Tonight Chase took it over the top. The food was always the issue in the past. Not this time. Bone in ribeye was perfect. The owner stopped by to check and we told him of our long absence and how good it was to enjoy our meal. The Chef stopped by when he heard of past experience. Both of these gentlemen were genuinely concerned. Maybe it is the fact the two were young but I believe this new generation of Cousino's understand their guest. By the way... Don't waste your time. It's been taken over by trash. Food is disgusting. They replaced a beautiful spread of greens for cheap bag salad. There one roll they give you was burnt and they charge .50 cents if you want a second. My steak was undercooked and the freak who claimed to be the owner refused to make it as I ordered it. I got up and left not eating a bite except a few pieces of the bagged salad.. The Earls we all grew up with is no longer. replaced by a cheap suppliers food. I strongly suggest you go to another steak house. Just judging by there parking lot I see others have made the same choice. read more

I wish I could leave a zero. Me my wife sat down at this restraunt with my 7 year old daughter. While we were waiting we heard a server being very nasty to a family with two children maybe 18 months old. She said" maybe next time you won't let your kids get spaghetti on our $1000 dollar carpet" the lady responded "I don't think that will be a problem we won't be coming back". Me and my wife was appalled and was going to tell our server about it. But before we could she came over making rude comments. I worked at a restaurant and seen many many messes from children many wayyyyyy worse with way worse messes. We informed the waitress that we thought they were really rude and she just copped an attitude. Very unprofessional. We asked for the check and I went to the bar to pay. Our waitress hurried to the bar to get it. I told the lady at the bar slender blonde haired lady. That this staff was in my words "rude as hell" the waitress interrupted and told me to get out. Went to Applebees for substandard food but our service was excellent. Maybe cousino's could recruit workers from there. Nothing worse than a snobby rude staff. A friend and I went there on Saturday evening. Although it was the weekend, the place was not very busy. The restaurant sits across the street from a refinery. The place seems to cater to a middle aged and older crowd. The bathrooms were clean, the parking was ample and there was working Wi-Fi. The food was mediocre, at best, and there was no gluten-free menu. In particular, the salad was small and mainly composed of iceberg lettuce and matchstick carrots, instead of a good mix, as it should have been. The waiter, Chase, really was the problem. He addressed us as if he were a football coach. He was not a good listener and I felt that I was being brushed off. He was not attentive to detail. I got the feeling that we were a nuisance. His tone of voice suggested that it was all about him. Unless this is an old family favorite of yours, I would say that this would be a good place to avoid. read more

Ordered glass of only Chard on list....not like any Chard I've ever tasted...added bottle of only recognized Cab...which, was as expected...economical. Shrimp Cocktail was fine....Wedge Salad large, and flavorful. Downhill from there.... 1st try at Bone in Ribeye, came out way over done, and...cold.. was offered the luke warm couldnt melt butter loaded baked potatoe, while I waited for 2nd try of the beef....2nd try came out as ordered...although the reload on mushrooms and onions were ....not luke warm. Unless I am stranded in this town, and no where else is open.... I'll pass on a re-visit. read more

Stopped in for dinner with my mom on a Wednesday night - busy but not packed. Seated immediately and cordially and had fast service for ordering drinks and food. Our waitress was very nice and timely about checking on our table. The appetizer that my mom and I shared was the baked brie on toast which, while delicious, was heavily layered with balsamic vinaigrette. The house salad was pretty standard but came with the best garlic bread roll I've had at a restaurant. My mom asked for a second roll and the waitress gave us 4! I ordered the bleu cheese and fried onion hanger steak, which came out rare instead of medium - not a huge problem with me since I like rare steaks anyway. The fried onions that came with were very chewy and saturated with oil. Smashed red potatoes are fantastic as is the casserole potato! Went there last night for my Mom's birthday. I had a cup of French onion soup and Prime Rib both were superb. My wife ordered a loaded baked potato with broccoli the broccoli was raw she sent it back and it came back cooked perfectly. The house salad seemed like it came from a bag could be fresher with more interesting greens besides iceberg. Salad dressing was home-made and very good. I think there are to many choices on the menu they should pair it down and focus on what they are good at. Still a great choice for dinner out in Toledo. We will be back. read more

First time eating at Cousino's and it was great! Dana was the perfect waitress even though she had a lot of tables and large groups. I've eaten fish and lemon sauce before but never any as good as the cod with lemon and caper sauce served on a bed of rice pilaf. Loved it!! Husband had the house sirloin and said it was delicious. I ordered a steak a 12oz medium rare streaks and i got a well done steak so they got me a new one and it was 8oz and also well done and didn't taste good at all and i would never go here again. Also the corn was so gross it was in a bowl of butter and so over cooked. read more
